How to repeat a table etc.
Hello,
I would like to know if there is any way in BI Publisher to repeat a table for a given number of times in the layout. The only information i got is the variable that tells me how many times i should repeat that table. IF conditional formatting is not an option because most likely the variable will be over 100.

Limiting Items Displayed in Spry Repeat Lists, Tables, Etc.
Is it possible to limit the items shown in Spry repeat
region? For example say I have 20 items in a list and only want to

How to repeat customer name etc. when more pages
I have setup template for printing Statements which is working, but only shows each customer name and address one time (for each statement).
Is it possible to enter "command" in template to make customer name and address repeat on the next page IN CASE output exceeds 1 page. So on page 2 (or more) they would also see the customer name and address on top.
The customer name and address is NOT a part of header. (As the header does not allow form)

If you look MS word table property the you will see one property like 'Repeat as header row at the top of each page'.
Design your table according to your requirement and select Repeate header check box.
After this you can see customer name and address on each page.

How to repeat the column header on each page of the report?
Can any of you please suggest me on how to repeat the column titles on a table if the table extends over several pages:
I tried the below action present in Re: How to make the column title needs to be on each page? It worked fine for the pdf format whereas its not working for rtf format output.
Can anybody help on this?I guess this has been taken as bug,
may be some patch got released for it..iam not sure.. -
How to repeat a row when tablix columns print over more than one page
I have a tablix with 20 Columns. When this prints it prints over 3 pages (which is
OK). The first Column is the Name (in this case it is the
Project name). On Page 2 & 3 I want to print the Project name again,
so that a report user does not need to go back to page one to figure out which
project the columns are referring two. In Excel there is an option
"Rows To Repeat". I am trying to do the same in SSRS
2012.

If I understand correctly, there are 20 columns in the table. When it prints over 3 pages, the report should repeat the first column in all pages.
To freeze row header in the table, we can refer to the following steps:
The table should have a group. If the Name is already a row group, we can directly refer to step 2. Or we need add a row group grouped by Name ahead.
Right-click the table to open the Tablix Properties dialog box, then enable “Repeat header rows on each page” and “Keep header visible while scrolling” options under Row Headers category.

How to print a table in smartforms(4.6c)
hi all,
In smartforms, when i'm trying to create a table node under a window, it is not automatically creating the sub nodes like header,item, footer. (instead there is a check box for header and footer nodes, but nothing is there for item data). I'm using SAP 4.6c version. i dont know whether this is the reason for my problem. If this is the reason, plz let me know how to implement a table type ouput in 4.6c smartform?

Steps:
1.Create Table Node under Window.
2) Define line types ie. row format.. width etc.
3) In each, Header/Main area/ Footer assign the line type you created.
and then create node for the variables.

I'd like to say a word on the how-to article "How to refresh a table of data after inserting or deleting a row using ADF".

I spent a lot of time on it because I needed help in implementing simple CRUD functionality on a table, using JSF-ADF-TopLink technologies.
While the the article does provide correct steps, it is in one important place not specific enough, so the reader may easily get stuck. In section "Refresh the data table", point 1: when you double click on the removeEntity() button, in Structure window, then you do not get the required dialog. You get CommandButton Properties dialog.
You must click on the removeEntity() button in Editor's Design view. But even there you may get the CommandButton Properties dialog, not managed beans dialog.
You may resolve that by going to JSF configuration file, faces-config.xml, and switch to Overview view. This will show you the managed beans that you have.
Then, you may already have a backing bean for the page. You can use that and avoid creating a new managed bean.
I could understand what the operations mean only after very careful reading of "Creating More Complex Pages", section "Overriding Declarative Methods" in JDeveloper Help (or in ADF Developer's Guide PDF document).
In general: I believe that "ADF bindings" need more conceptual explanation, maybe in form of an article. Grammatical form "bindings" may create a false understanding that "bindings" are just references. But they are not -- ADF bindings are active objects that handle traffic between UI components and Data Controls. It seems that "bindings" even communicate among themselves. Maybe it would be more understandable to differentiate strictly between "binding objects" (or "binders"?), binding object definitions and binding object references.
It would be very helpful to have a diagram showing grahically what specific binder objects are created in a small apllication (2-3 pages using 1-2 tables), with whom they communicate and what type of data is passed on.

My second question is, why when you use refresh button in IE (I know is not recommended as You said, but sometimes user do it, so I want prevent situations that I will describe here) so when I press refresh button in IE exactly after removing one row by clicking my button, refreshing by pressing IE button is doing the same --> is deleting next row. How to stop deleting row, when for example user would press IE refresh button after pressing remove button for table. If I change selection in table after deleting row, and press refresh button in IE, instead of deleting row, I got error message: JBO-29000: JBO-35007: and

Before you start, you should probably take a backup copy of your design (the .dmd file and associated folder), in case the update does not work out as you had hoped.
You need to use Import > Data Dictionary again, to start the Data Dictionary Import Wizard.
In step 1 use a suitable database connection that can access the relevant table definitions.
In step 2 select the schema (or schemas) to import. The "Import to" field in the lower left part of the main panel allows you to select which existing Relational Model to import into (or to specify that a new Relational Model is to be created).
In step 3 select the tables to import. (Note that if there are an Foreign Key constraints between the new tables and any tables you had previously imported, you should also include the previous tables, otherwise the Foreign Key constraints will not be imported.)
After the import itself has completed, the "Compare Models" dialog is displayed. This shows the differences between the model being imported and the previous state of the model, and allows you to select which changes are to be applied.
Just selecting the Merge button should apply all the additions and changes in the new import.
Having updated your Relational Model, you can then update your Logical Model. To do this you repeat the "Engineer to Logical Model". This displays the "Engineer to Logical Model" dialog, which shows the changes which will be applied to the Logical Model, and allows you to select which changes are to be applied.
Just selecting the Engineer button should apply all the additions and changes.
I hope this helps you achieve what you want.

How to Convert internal table data into text output and send mail in ABAP

Taking a glance at a code that converts internal table data to an Excel file in ABAP. also checked how to send this excel to mailing list as attachment.
But thought of doing it without excel.
I mean, I have an internal table which contains fields of all types (character,integer,date,time). Since it is only around 4 to 5 rows in it (output),why to convert it to excel. not required!!. Instead I want to send this output to User's mails as Normal mail body with No attachments.
Could anybody please suggest me a way as to how to send internal table data as a mail ( not as an excel or PDF etc).
as of now my findings are, it is quite complex to convert internal table data to email (Text) format. but i believe if there is some way of doing it.

How to update Spry-table and present the updated table in a div element?

I am using a very interesting AJAX-framework called Spry when designing a web page. Here the web page is: Link.
I need some help.
Every time a new project or shift is added, the changes are written to an xml-file. When the page is reloaded, Spry reads data from xml-files.
This is caused by this code:

I call this function that I have written: loadProjectsIntoDivElement ().
This function does the following: [See attached code.]
It iterates through the Spry-datastructure and puts the data in a table inside of the div-element called 'projectsList'.
Now, when I add a new project, I want it to be inserted into the Spry-datastructure and then cause the new data to be written into the div element called 'Specials_DIV'.
I have found out how to update a Spry-datastructure (e.g. dsProjects above), but I don't know how to update the table containing the data without refreshing the page. This should be done using Spry.

I don't succeed with the implementation in any browser.
I have found a way to it, but I would like a way that updates the data quicker and without reloading all of the page. After all, I am only adding one row on the end of the data structure, so there should be no need to read in all data again.
Now I do it like this:
When a project is added, do this:
1. Store a new row in the project file through a php script.
2. When the post-call to the php-file returns, do refresh of the whole page.
Then the newest version of the xml file will be read in.
However, I don't want to read the data from a xml file each time that a new project is created.
I know how to add the new data to a Spry-datastructure [in my code 'dsProjects'], but I don't know how to display the updated data without reloading the whole page.
I have tried some various ways to do it, but haven't succeded.

Open standards WordprocessingML format is supports by Microsoft word. It is typical xml format of designing word document. But creating document with TOC,tables, different styles of paragraphs are complex. Using this format, i have created simple docs. I never tried with complex formats like TOC. The generating File should be in ".doc or .docx" format only.

I am parallely looking to find solution in OpenOffice format also. But i never try out ".docx" file format. I will try to look out this option.
