How to replace automatically 'blank' values by '#' in Input Query ?
Hi there,
the Command REFRESH_COMMAND triggers an error message if the field is blank. Is there a way with a Java Script to browse the ANALYSIS_ITEM and replace with # all blank values ?
Is there a way to debbug REFRESH_DATA since the error message is triggered in the Java Stack ?
Otherwise can someone let me know how to browse the content of the InputQuery ?
I managed to write some Java to replace blank value by # for a selection, I just want to be able to browse all the data entries and trigger the Javscript before executing REFRESH_DATA.
Cheers,
Erik.
Hi Sankar,
I fear you did not understand my problem.
I have an input-ready query for IP with new lines.
There is a control done by the command REFRESH_DATA on the JavaStack which does control that there is an entry for all
the characteristics in the Query. Meaning the user has to enter # , the system does not allow a 'blank' value.
What i try to achieve is to replace all 'blank' with '#' for all the entries in the input-ready query.
I have a JavaScript qhich does work if I select the area but what I want is to execute this script for all new or changed entries in the input-ready query ( which is a ANALYSIS_ITEM in the WAD).
Another way would be to disable the error message generated by the java stack which is
Missing or invalid characteristic value in new row/column : <Name of the Characteristic>.
Cheers,
Erik

Thanks,
SridharHi Sridhar,
I would like to Replace the Charecter values with numeric value in my string.
Exp : first in my string I am having the value like this : 'ABCD1234' ( may be any char and num values ), and I want too get it by '99991234'.
So, if i understand you correctly, you want to replace all characters in a string with 9 as in the above example, irrespective of position of the character, if so try with the below code.
DATA: l_str TYPE string.
l_str = 'ASKHSIUDNSBDKJSDH124312431243124saasdfsf'.
REPLACE ALL OCCURRENCES OF REGEX '\D' IN l_str WITH '9'.
IF sy-subrc EQ 0.
WRITE: l_str. "Result will be 9999999999999999912431243124312499999999
ENDIF.

How to display first row value returened from a query as checked as default in a report
How to display first row value returned from a query as checked as default in a report

MudassarHi Mudassar,
The issue is caused by the order in which the parameters appear in the report data tab can be difference between our report execution and it failing. In other words, “Parameter2” is execution before parameter “A” due to this issue. We can adjust the parameter’s
order to solve the issue.
If “Parameter2” is parameter “A”, we cannot use that expression. Because fields cannot be used in report parameter expression, if we want to display the first value returned from a query as default value, we have to fill the “Specify values” text box with
the specific value in Default Values dialog box.

How to retrieve dynamic filter value submitted from control query to broadcast query.....
I'm trying to change the hierarchy version determined by a userexit variable in the broadcast query.
The Hierarchy Version should be dependent on the input filter delivered by the bursting query.
But how do I catch the dynamic filter value which has been submitted by the bursting query,
with other words: where does the bursting query store it's out put while sequentially starting the broadcast query value by value?
BTW: the filter value from the bursting query appears under "dynamic filter values" in the information of the broadcast query...
Any thoughts are welcome!

Although we can pass in prompt values to BI Services, I couldn't find if we could pass a variable or dimension object into this field. Anyone knows? -

In DB adapter or-mappings.xml , did you made any changes. If not the open that file in any notepad editor and change the following
<attribute-mapping xsi:type="direct-mapping">
<attribute-name>director</attribute-name>
<field table="MYTABLE" name="MAKE_IT_BLANK_NOT_NULL" xsi:type="column"/>
<attribute-classification>java.lang.String</attribute-classification>
</attribute-mapping>You can try to add this:
<attribute-mapping xsi:type="direct-mapping">
<attribute-name>director</attribute-name>
<field table="MYTABLE" name="MAKE_IT_BLANK_NOT_NULL" xsi:type="column"/>
<null-value></null-value>

How to pass the Bound values to VO SQL Query during runtime?
Hi all,
I have the following sql query;
SELECT NOTIFICATION_ID
FROM xx_NOTIFICATION_V
WHERE COMPANY = NVL(:1, COMPANY)
AND INITIATOR = NVL(:2,INITIATOR)
AND PAYGROUP = NVL(:3, PAYGROUP)
AND SOURCE = NVL(:4, SOURCE)
AND SUPPLIER_NAME = NVL(:5,SUPPLIER_NAME)
AND TRX_DATE BETWEEN NVL(:6,TRX_DATE)
AND NVL(:7,TRX_DATE)
If i click GO button on search page then it pass the selected Poplists values as a Bound values to VO Sql query at runtime after this I store the search results in a Table(Which is created by using New Region Wizard).
I want to pass the Bind parameter values to VO SQL query during runtime and :1,:2,:3,:4,:5,:6,:7 values are coming from Poplists.
I search through forum I found many threads regarding Bind Values but those all are passing ID's only not String(Varchar) values.
How to pass the Character values to VO Query.
Please anyone help me on this.

How to access filled in values of an af:query component
Hi,
I have a viewobject with a viewcriteria defined on it. The results are showed in a result table. When a user selects a row from the result table a new page is showed with detail data. In that page i would like to show the user the filled in attributes with their values to remember the user to which search criteria the results correspond. How can i access the attributes with their values of a af:query component?
Kind Regards,
AndreHi Andre,
maybe you can try Frank's approach: http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/jdev/tips/fnimphius/AdfCodingQuickies.html
I just tested for RichInputText:
public String cb1_click() {
parseQuery(query1);
return null;
private void parseQuery(UIComponent component){
List<UIComponent> list = component.getChildren();
for (UIComponent com : list){
if (!(com instanceof RichInputText)){
parseQuery(com);
else{
if (((RichInputText)com).getValue() != null) System.out.println( ((RichInputText)com).getId() + " : " + ((RichInputText)com).getValue() );
}but the problem is with getLabel() - it will return null

How can i see the values of a prepared query
Somebody knows about a tool that show me the values of a prepared query.
I tried with the view V$SQL and with the TKPROF, but both show me the same query text and i need to know the parameter's values. Example of a prepared query - I don't know if it is the correct name of that kind of query.
UPDATE "CL0E01" SET "BLOQUEO"=:1
WHERE
"CLAVE"=:2 AND "NUM_REGS"=:3 AND "ULT_CLV"=:4 AND "BLOQUEO"=:5
Is it a tool that show me the value??
Thanks for the help.
Roberto MorenoI tried with the view V$SQL_BIND_CAPTURE but i get this error. "ORA-00932: inconsistent datatypes: expected CHAR got -". I executed in the Application Express.
What could be wrong??
I put my STATISTICS_LEVEL to ALL but nothing happen. I recieved the same result.
I executed the view V$STATISTICS_LEVEL, for the Bind Data Capture I have enabled the session and system status, the activation level is TYPICAL.
Thanks for your help TongucY -
How do I properly pass values into an input parameter form and app module?
Using JDeveloper 11.1.1.4
I created an application module that calls a PL/SQL procedure that uses input parameters. I exposed this to the data control and dropped the object on a jsff as a input parameter form. I need to set some of the input parameters on this form from values gathered and stored in a pageFlowScope bean. What is the proper way so that the values will: 1. show on the form, and 2. get to the java code in the application module that calls my procedure? An example field from my form is:
<af:inputText value="#{bindings.pPayerId.inputValue}" label="Payer ID"
required="#{bindings.pPayerId.hints.mandatory}"
columns="#{bindings.pPayerId.hints.displayWidth}"
maximumLength="#{bindings.pPayerId.hints.precision}"
shortDesc="#{bindings.pPayerId.hints.tooltip}" id="it8">
<f:validator binding="#{bindings.pPayerId.validator}"/>
<af:convertNumber groupingUsed="false" pattern="#{bindings.pPayerId.format}"/>
</af:inputText>Thanks,
TroyThanks Shay for pointing me in that direction.
I didn't find the NDValue in the bindings, so I went to the pagedef xml and found it there. Changing the NDValue successfully delivered the value to the app module when the method was executed, but didn't show the value on the form. I had to add the same #{pageFlowScope.paramsBean.fileFormatParam} to the value of the input field and it now is working as needed. -
How to replace &val& with value
Hi All,
I want to replace the &VALUE& with value.
For example
If I have test like ' This process &procees_id' is need to be approved by &USER& ' ,
It should be populated as 'This process leave approval is need to be approved by NARENDRA'.The
values for Process_id and user willbe given by program dyanmically.
Can one please help us solving this problem.
Thanks and Regards,
Narendra.SomarouthuHi,
Considering your requirement to replace &value& is in forms.
take &value& under a named text-element(say 'text').
In your main program take a variable(say w_value) type compatible to &value& ( here it can be type string)
assign value to be passed to w_value.
call function module(FM) open_form.
Assign formname.
Call FM write_form.
assign the named text element and window (MAIN/VAR) to the export parameters of function module.
Call FM close_form.
ex:
data:
w_value type string.
CALL FUNCTION 'OPEN_FORM'
EXPORTING FORM = 'formname'
w_value = 'Process_id text which u want to pass'.
CALL FUNCTION 'WRITE_FORM'
EXPORTING ELEMENT = 'TEXT'
WINDOW = 'MAIN'
FUNCTION = 'SET'
TYPE = 'BODY'
CALL FUNCTION 'CLOSE_FORM'

How to replace EQUAL TO by LIKE in a Query involving variables
Dear All,
I am working on a Query which is in reality 3 Queries in 1. It works perfectly.
When I run the Query, it gives the following Query - Selection Criteria
Query - Selection Criteria
Import Log ...................
Block Number ...................
Document Date ...................
Document Date ...................
[OK] [Cancel]
To use this Query, we must choose only 1 criterion and leave other fields blank. To achieve this, I
use OR inside WHERE
1ST Query
If you type S713 in the first field, it returns all records with Import Log = S713
2 ND Query
If you type G1575 in the 2ND field, it returns all records with Block Number = G1575
3rd Query
If you type '01.07.11' and '05.07.11' in the 3RD and 4TH fieldS, it returns all records with
Dates between 01.07.00 and 05.07.11
The Query won't work if you fill in all fields.
WHAT I WANT?
I want to replace the EQUAL TO in the WHERE clause by LIKE to allow the Query to search for a pattern, instead
of rendering an exact match.
I know this can be done with = '[%1]' by changing it to LIKE '%[%1]%'
But how can you do the same with @shipnum and @reqnum?
I can change the variable declarations to
set @shipnum = /* */ '%[%1]%'
but it creates problems.
How can we use LIKE in the WHERE clause, without modifying the declarations.
Thanks
Leon Lai
Here's my Query
TABLES:
T0 = OPCH A/P Invoice - Header
T1 = PCH1 A/P Invoice - Rows
T5 = OJDT Journal Entry
declare @shipnum nvarchar (30)
set @shipnum =
/*select T1.[ImportLog] from [dbo].[PCH1] T1 where T1.[ImportLog]*/ '[%1]'

(T1.[ImportLog] = @shipnum AND
@reqnum = ' ' AND
@taxdt1 = ' ' AND
@taxdt2 = ' ' )
OR
(T1.[BlockNum] = @reqnum AND
@shipnum = ' ' AND
@taxdt1 = ' ' AND
@taxdt2 = ' ' )
OR
(T0.[TaxDate] >= @taxdt1 AND
T0.[TaxDate] <= @taxdt2 AND
@shipnum = ' ' AND
@reqnum = ' ' )Dear Gordon,
Thanks for your reply.
Unfortunately it does not work when I use
T1.[ImportLog] LIKE '%@shipnum%'
I think I could guess the reason:
Since @shipnum means '% { %1 } %'
/* I use { } to represent Square Brackets */
Then
LIKE '%@shipnum%' would mean
LIKE '% '%{%1}%' '
and this would be incorrect syntax.
If I remove the ' it still does not work.
By numerous trial and error, I just arrived at this mixture of @variable and '{%x}' which works!
I have no idea why, and it appears rather messy.But it works seamlessly.
I tried using uniquely {%x} without the @variables. It does not work.
So, if you could analyse it and put it in neater form (I mean without a mixture of @ and { },
I would be grateful.
There are so many tricks I used to make my Queries work, without understanding
at all why they work.
Best Regards,
Leon Lai

SaiI dont think you can capture the offset applied value in a exit as the value is dependent on the variable itself and nothing to capture the result after the offset has been applied.
why dont you capture the variable value itself and apply the logic to do an offset in the customer exit? -
