How to restrict Basis from User admin in Portal
Hi,
Iam looking to delete action Manage ALL action from Administrator role and add ReadALL so that basis is not given access to User admin in Portal. we already have Manage_All in a role that is assigned to security. However iam not sure of the problems. please advise if there would be any problem in tweaking the Administrator role as these are standard UME roles.

Please try to modify User adminitrator role in the portal.
Content Administrator>>Portal Content>>Content Provided by SAP>>Admin Content>>User Administrators>>Right click on "User Admin" role >>Permission>> IN "Everyone" Group, Uncheck the 'End User' column. then SAVE your permision.

For a B2C eCommerce solution, you are looking at FMs BAPI_CUSTOMER_CREATEFROMDATA1 and ISA_USER_CREATE and the table USAPPLREF which holds the reference to the customer and user.
To get the FMs called, you would have to do a session trace during B2C user registration / B2B user creation from UME. You could search this forum on a 'how-to' for doing a session trace or lookup the development and extension guide that provides a lot of useful information.

I have an I mac 27 Inch 2009 3.06 GHz Intel core 2 Duo. I cant remember my user admin password to enter my computer to make changes, how can I recover it? I have being entering as a guest user.You can't recover the password, but you can reset it.
If the user account is associated with an Apple ID, and you know the Apple ID password, then maybe the Apple ID can be used to reset your user account password. In OS X 10.10 and later, this option also works with FileVault, but only if you enabled it when you activated FileVault. It's not retroactive. Otherwise, see below.
Note: If you've activated FileVault, this procedure doesn't apply. Follow instead these instructions.
Start up in Recovery mode. When the OS X Utilities window appears, select
Utilities ▹ Terminal
from the menu bar at the top of the screen—not from any of the items in the OS X Utilities window.
In the window that opens, type this:
resetp
Press the tab key. The partial command you typed will automatically be completed to this:
resetpassword
Press return. A Reset Password window opens. Close the Terminal window to get it out of the way.
Select the startup volume ("Macintosh HD," unless you gave it a different name) if not already selected. You won't be able to do this if FileVault is active.
Select your username from the menu labeled Select the user account if not already selected.
Follow the prompts to reset the password. It's safest to choose a password that includes only the characters a-z, A-Z, and 0-9.

Unable to edit user information from User Admin applet

I'm unable to update user information from user admin applet. After selecting a particular user, i'm updating his full name and trying to save the details. When i click on save i'm getting below error

If you do not see any entries here, then use the Add button to add the following
- No Markings
- Secret
- Top Secret
- Confidential
Now try to update the user info using the admin applet. In the edit window assign Security Classification to "No Markings" and try submitting the update. Let us know what is the outcome.

Please explain how to restrict a normal user from getting connected as sys user in sqlplus.Even though I have revoked the sysdba and sysoper priveleges, I am able to get connected as sysdba in sqlplus. Is there any way to restrict the normal user.

Password Authentication
Unless a connection to the instance is considered 'secure' then you MUST use a
password to connect with SYSDBA privilege.
Users can be added to a special 'password' file using either the 'ORAPWD'
utility, or 'GRANT SYSDBA to USER' command.
Such a user can then connect to the instance for administrative purposes using
the syntax:
CONNECT username/password AS SYSDBA
Operating System Authentication
If the connection to the instance is local or 'secure' then it is possible to
use the operating system to determine if a user is allowed SYSDBA access.
In this case no password is required.
The syntax to connect using operating system authentication is:
CONNECT / AS SYSDBA

How to restrict login from client?
Hi all,
11gR2
How do I restrict login from client users, because I want to backup our database using expdp, and I do not want anybody updating the database.
I can not use the startup restrict becuase some client have dba privs.
I am thinking of shutting down the listener, but there are other database using this listener.
Is there option in the listener so that I can disconnect only the servicename PROD1 database? or do I need to stop the listener and edit it and remove PROD1 then start it again?
Any more briliant ideas?

I have assigned the security profile to HR user responsibility
But when I query the supervisor name in HR User responsibility , it is not restricting me from viewing supervisor details.
When I query for first time, its restricting me to view others details, but when I close that click on torch button and try searching, its allowing me to access manages details.
Can any one please let me know what setups need to be done for restricting employees from viewing supervisors data.
I have gone through the document "Understanding and Using HRMS Security in Oracle HRMS" but didn't got any idea.
Please suggest.

How to update jTable from user input?
I create one jTable with 2 rows and 3 columns. the jtable colums contains deviceIP and Status. I am getting device IP from user input through jTextfield. so, when user enter IP and click add button, it must added in the jTable rows one by one.
how can I add it by user enter the IP. Also, I want to update the status column value by "UP" or "DOWN" by just getting string value from other function.
but, my problem is i need to update the correct IP status value to correct column (ie., I want to put IP 1(row 1) status to column 1 in status column list.
I don't know about jTable .

Netbeans game sample - how to restrict sprite from walking over a water

I am new with Java game and Netbeans.
I have tried creating the 2nd level - Dessert and have added the sprites and the water pool. The water pool is added as a tiled layer. However, when running the program the Karel sprite walks over the water pool. How do I restrict it from doing this much like the Forest level?

I've found the matrices in the sample as you mentioned.
However, Netbeans has created a new feature that allows drag and drop creation of tiled layers, scenes and sprites. Matrices for the tiled layers will be generated by Netbeans and the codes are not editable.
The same tiled layers were used in both Forest and Desert scenes. However in the default Forest scene it worked but with the new Desert scene it doesn't.
If anybody have tried this would appreciate some oppinions.

How to display active directory users through weblogic portal Application?

Does anyone has faced this situation?
I configured the activedirectory and able to see the users and group in the weblogic console at Security->Realms->Myrealm->users. when I run my portal application,I am able to see only the users that are configured in embedded weblogic LDAP ie, I can see only the users weblogic,portaladmin and yahooadmin that are of defaultauthenticator provider.I need to display the active directory users also in our portal.
I have two doubts on this?
1)Is it I need to write custom code to view the active directory users in our portal?
2)Does I need to use any jars that supports active directory authenticator?
I would appreciate if any one can reply on this with helpfull docs/information.
We are using BEA 8.1 SP4.

Can you restrict creation of user types in Portal?
Hi,
Is it possible to give a group of users the ability to just create 'Vendor' accounts in the Portal?
While another group of users the ability to just create 'Contractor' accounts in the Portal?
...and other group of users to create just another 'type' of users in the Portal?

SkHumm, it's seems a bit complex but try to based your drop down over a new object "UserType".
