I've created an order form where customers input the quantity of product they want to order and the form outputs the total due (including shipping and sales tax). Depending on user input, the resulting total sometimes contains more than two decimal places. How do I round calculations to two decimal places? Is there a way to do this form-wide?

The above will affect the displayed value not the actual value of the field nor its value when accessed in another computation. This behavior may cause an error of 1 cent or more in the grand total or sales tax computation. If you want the the value and displayed value to be the same value you can use the following Validation script:

Create a function group.
Define global data (there is a similiar menu point to jump to the top include).
Create one or two function modules, with which you can read and write the global data.
In your BADI methods you can access the global data with help of your function modules. It will stay in memory through the whole transaction.

How to restrict Option values (drop down) for a particular metadata in profile checkin-
Metadata field Color is having options dropdown values (stored in table/views)-
Display name - Blue, Value=1
Display name - Red, Value=2
Display name - Yellow, Value=3
Display name - Green, Value=4
Display name - Black, Value=5
For a particular profile checkin form, for the metadata field Color I want the dropdown value consist of only top three options
Display name - Blue, Value=1
Display name - Red, Value=2
Display name - Yellow, Value=3
But this should be done on profile level only, should not impact the standrad checkin form and other profile checkin forms.
Please help me if any one having any suggestion to implement the above secnario

Into the rule containing the Color metadata, you can restrict the values of the list.
In "Has restricted list and pane", list the values 1, 2 and 3 (new line for each value) :

thanks for reply. i am trying to assign an integer value to a button and the button should send the assigned integer value to TCP/IP write, only when the button is pressed. i am able to send data using string control (as shown in the attachment) but i want to replace it with several buttons. for example, if i enter 2 in string control, this data will be sent to a robot (robot has wifi card) through tcp/ip protocol, it moves front. 3 will make it to move back, 8 is left, 6 is right. this numeric data is already burnt into blackfin processor of the robot. so just by entering numbers in labview can make my robot move in specified direction. can you please help me to create a button with value and convert it into string and send it to tcp/ip write. this should happen only when the button is pressed. because, if i enter numbers in string control, it dosent looks good..... if i have buttons... i think my VI will look good and hitech.

it is not possible to store with Number datatype. if you are using the data to sho report, then change its format (like 45 to 45.00). if you want to store 45.00 in database, then you have to modify the datatype for that column. for this follow the following path
1. Add a column of datatype Varchar2.
2. Copy all the value of your number field to it.
3. Drop the old column.
4. However make sure that if you have used that column somewhare in arithmetic calculation, the modify it and use to_number function to do arithmetic opration.

every month material compound rates are chaning ,accoring to main material rate also chage
for achiving this we worte a routine ,in the routine we used the condition type
on condition type value is 0.1432 but in sap allows only two decimal point how can achive four decimal points for that condition type

You are speaking about purchasing as I understand.
In this case you can define this in the PO itself (for the line item; there's also a condition tab in PO at item level...) - Amount / Currency / Per / Unit - 1432 / RS / 10 000 / PC. You can do the same in contract, info record, etc.

How to take float precision to two decimal places?

I'm a straight noob...first week in Java programming. Before you bash me for not checking FAQs and such, believe me, I have.
I have tried BigDecimal movePointLeft, but I don't know how to construct it using proper syntax. I also tried currency and toString but I keep messing up my syntax somehow. Four hours into this and nothing is working.
Here is the problem: I have a float. I want to format its output to two decimal places, trying to achieve in Java what C would produce as:
printf("The amount you owe is $%.2f", fltAnyName);
Any help would be appreciated.

Sorry, guys. I have tried both recommendations and I can't get either to work. I'm getting a compile error pointing to the delineating period between the "out" and "printf" when I try the C-like code. I have 1.5, too. I know your advice is sound so I must be doing something wrong. Can you insert the code DecimalFormat code that will correct this problem where it needs to go? Need to restrict numeric entry to two decimal places

I have a cfform with a cfinput of type=text. I need to restrict what can be entered into the cfinput so that it allows only two decimal places. I have tried the mask, but it won't work because "99999.99" will not allow 12.34 and "99.99" will not allow 12345.67.
I have read about validate and pattern but I've never used them. I don't know JavaScript, but I can copy and paste pretty well.
Any help you can provide is greatly appreciated.

Other than that, maybe try creating a global change to manually calculate your percents.

I assume that you read values for the search help with function 'F4IF_FIELD_VALUE_REQUEST' and in a later step you display values with <htmlb:tableview>. If that is true and the function is delivering too many records as you mention, you could then restrict the output table of values like this:
