How to restrict Report Parameters

In Developer 6i, how can I restrict a parameter2 which is uses parameter1's value.
I don't want this job using Form.
example:
I have to combo boxes managers (parameter1) and employees(parameter2).
If I select a manager, all employees should be loaded in employees combo

sorry... let me explain.
I use Report Builder 6i. I want to know that how do i change a parameter's value which is a combo box and populated as "select ename from emp".
I want to make it dependent on an other parameter i.e., manager list.
In report parameter how can I do something like this "select ename from emp where mgr=:parameter1"
I can do it on Form6i. But my requirement is doing it on report
Thanks

    Hi friend,
    For your case, I think set up an authority-object is suitable.
    You can have a look at this http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/index?rid=/library/uuid/a92195a9-0b01-0010-909c-f330ea4a585c&overridelayout=true

  • How to hide dynamic parameters values in the URL with Reports 6i

    Hi,
    I want to know a way of hiding the parameters values when asking for a report through the web.
    Now I'm using the Reports 3.0.5.8 with a Cartridge defined in the Oracle Web Application Server 3.0.1.0.1. When you ask for a report with the parameters DESTYPE = cache and DESFORMAT = pdf, it is fully generated and in the Address or Location box of the browser, you can see http://webserver/cache/report.pdf (where cache is the virtual directory defined in the OWAS in which the .pdfs are cached). So, users cant see the Url used to generate the report.
    Im trying to upgrade this configuration to Reports 6i with Cgi in a web server. I generate reports with no problems. The problem I have is I cant find how to hide the parameters values as before. I mean, when I ask for a report, once its generated I can see http://webserver/cgi-bin/rwcgi60.exe?server=ServerName&report=report.rdf&userid=user/pass@connection&destype=cache&desformat=pdf&P1=value1&P2=value2 in the Location box. It allows user to ask for another report changing the values of the parameters. I use these parameters to execute some query written in the Data Model. For example, imagine that the P1 represents the company id, the user (that is supposed to see only data of its company) can change this id, ask for a new report and see data of another company.
    Ive already tried to use the key mapping option, but its not useful to me because the parameters values are dynamic and its impossible to define different entries in the cgicmd.dat for each possible value. The option of loading the parameter form before running a report is not useful to me either, because there exists specific screens for this purpose.
    Is there any solution?
    Thank you.

    Hi Rakesh,

    So could you please tell me where i can find 'suppress result' option for the keyfigure .

  • -How to restrict Description into single row in the report

    Hello Colleagues
    I have a report which shows Material number versus Revenue. In the row, material is displayed with Technical name and description.
    Here, the view of the report shows the description in single line. While, in the report, description of the report runs 3 to 4 lines though description contains 5 to 6 words (which can fit easily into single line).
    Let me know how to restrict each row descrption into single line.
    Regards,
    Ningaraju

    Hello Colleagues
    Please find the format it is currently appearing in the web reports.
    Material Num        Material Description    Revenues (In Eur)
    1000001               "SAP
                                ERP
                                Professsional
                                 User"                             111
    Wanted to change above format into as below in which it has to show material description in single row.
    Material Num          Material Description                              Revenues (In Eur)
    1000001                 "SAP ERP Professsional User"                         111

This way they need not go through thousands of agencies they dont work with. Thanks in advance.

    there is no such step-by-step!
    I would encourage you to consult documentation and search for terms 'row level restriction' in the help guides.

    Hi KK,
    I think a variable proccessed by authorization should help. Mark "ready for input"
    and only values user is authorized for, are displayed in F4 screen.

  • How to restrict  changes in Tabs: Defaults and Parameters in tcode:  SU3

    Good Morning Everybody.
    Do you know how to restrict End Users can change data stored in Tabs Defaults and Parameters of tcode: SU3.
    I was checking Authorization Objects related this transaction but I did not find a way to fix this issue.
    Thanks for your comments.
    Mauricio Cardozo.
    BASIS Consultant.

    I've been looking into this same question.  I don't think there's any way to protect individual user parameters, which is what we really wanted to do, but it is possible to protect the Parameters tab as a whole while still granting access to the Address and Defaults tabs (if desired).  SU3, which is usually given to all users, gives change access to all three tabs in the User Data, but to make it more fine-grained, as the last person said, take away SU3 and instead grant whatever combination of SU0, SU1, or SU2 makes sense for your organization.  SU0 gives access to the Defaults tab, SU1 to the Address tab, and SU2 to the Parameters tab.
    So, in your case, you would grant SU1 only, so users can change their name or phone number, etc, but not Defaults or Parameters.  They won't even be able to see defaults or parameters if you do this, though.
    I hope this helps.

    Hello All,
    I want t know how to restrict the display of report variants.
    I mean, when a user saves a variant for his/her purpuse on some report program, only he/she can refer the variant while other users cannot.
    I know that by setting the attribute of the variant ("Protect Variant ", "Only Display in Catalog"), this would be possible, but I want to know another way, without this setting.
    Thank you for your help in advance.

  • How to restrict service purchase orders in MEIS report

    We create service PO (Doc type NB)with acct assignment u201CKu201D and with material description (No Item category and without service master) , GR with MIGO and invoice with MIRO.
    While executing MEIS report (INTRASAT Arrivals-EU countries) it should not show the service PO. but due to EU region vendor
    System is populating Import tab at header and item level with Number of foreign trade data say as 0000203584 and Delivering country as GB
    How to restrict these service POu2019s is there any configuration or some input data I need to maintain in PO to restrict or any user exit to restrict.
    Regards,
    Gopala.S

    Hi Venu,
                 You can go for the Dynamic Selection, at the Purchasing Document Item Level and in that you will find Material,
    on selecting it, in the field for Material,
    Double Click it, a screen will pop-up Giving "=", Not Equal to Options, there you Select "not Equalt To" Option.
    that means, you want the line item with the Material No present in it.
    Hope it helps you.

    Hi,
    The parameter fields on the report can be accessed  using the In Proc RAS .NET SDK.

  • How to filter a sharepoint list with report parameters

    Hello there,
    I'm trying to make a sql report on a sharepoint library. I have no problems to connect to the library but i cannot find a way to filter my data source with report parameters. I've searched on the net a lot, found some stuffs about xml but nothing that shows
    how to do it with sharepoint. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi mgarant,
    As you mentioned, by default, we can use xml parameter "query" to filter a SharePoint list from SQL Server Reporting Services. We can also modify the value for the "query" to use SQL Server Reporting Serivces parameters to filter the SharePoint list.
    Below are the detailed steps for your reference:
     1.Change the query string to be a string like this:
    <Query>
    <SoapAction>http://schemas.microsoft.com/sharepoint/soap/GetListItems</SoapAction>
    <Method Namespace="http://schemas.microsoft.com/sharepoint/soap/" Name="GetListItems">
    <Parameters>
    <Parameter Name="listName">
    <DefaultValue>{ADBE55DB-63A1-4C14-9DA0-B1B05C13B4C8}</DefaultValue>
    </Parameter>
    <Parameter Name="query" Type="xml">
    </Parameter>
    </Parameters>
    </Method>
    <ElementPath IgnoreNamespaces="true">*</ElementPath>
    </Query>
     2.In the dataset modification dialog, go to "Parameters" tab.
     3.Create a Report Parameter(e.g. CityParam).
     4.In parameter tab, create a parameter with:
    Name: query
    Value: ="<Query>
       <Where>
          <Eq>
             <FieldRef Name='WorkCity' />
             <Value Type='Text'>" & Parameters!CityParam.Value & "</Value>
          </Eq>
       </Where>
    </Query>"
    Please note, “case sensitive” is required. In this case, the parameter name for "query" must be in lower case. WorkCity is name of a field in the SharePoint list.
    For more information about how to retrieve value from SharePoint list, I would suggest you reading the following article and threads:
    http://vspug.com/dwise/2007/11/28/connecting-sql-reporting-services-to-a-sharepoint-list-redux/
    http://blogs.msdn.com/mariae/archive/2007/12/13/querying-sharepoint-list-from-reporting-services-returns-only-not-null-columns.aspx
    I also implemented a sample, you could download it from:
