Hi,
We can get the Program whether this is running in background or not then we need to use SY-BATCH, if the SY-BATCH is set to X then the program is running in Background,
so in the INITIALIZATION event, you can use this SY-BATCH and check the User names, and give the error messsage which you want to restrict

I am executing the custom report in foreground mode ALV output showing all columns for that same report I am executing in background mode some of the ALV output columns are missed out
For example:
Standard report output showing 10 columns, but I am executing the same report in background some of the columns are suppressed only I am able to view 5 columns remaining I am not able to view.
Please help me to resolve the above issue.

How to Restrict Variables in Selection Screen

Hi Experts,
I have set filter variable for my Region which includes (East, West, North, South).
And I'm restricting North and South in the Selection Screen and displaying a choice of East or West on the Selection Screen.
I tried right click variable in filter pane-> Restrict -> Move.....East and West to right side. and saved it.
When I tried executing it I'm being displayed all the 4 values at the Selection Screen.
Can any real experts help me resolve this

There are two ways in which you approach this
- Create a variable for Region and set the Default values to East and West. This way when the user runs the query the selection will be by Default populated as East and West. You don't have to go in and do a selection.
- Personalize the variables.

In short, when you run the query you can see a Personalize variables button where you can just choose Ease and West. You can also choose whether to display or hide the personalized variable. When you hide it will internally be restricted to Ease and West.The result is displayed with your personalized values the next time you execute the query. The down side to this is this is specific to a user.
Apart from the above two, i don't think you can choose the selection only to display East and West. As long as your master data and info provider has all four values you cannot hide them.
In the query designer, when you click on the Region infoobject in the Advanced tab, you will see four options. You can only choose among the four. Here you can see that you can only choose between Master data, infoprovider etc.

I am using oracle 10g.IN a form i am having a block 'client_block' in that i am having a text_item ' entry_date' which is a datebase item and i have set enabled false in property palette and i created an image item on the same form and i have an calendar icon on it .In when_image_pressed trigger for image item i have written this code
SET_ITEM_PROPERTY('CLIENT_BLOCK.ENTRY_DATE',ENABLED,PROPERTY_TRUE);
DATE_LOV.Get_Date(sysdate,'CLIENT_BLOCK.ENTRY_DATE');
This is working perfectly but user can enter or delete date into the text_item through keyboard i want to restrict that they can only select date from calendar.
I have tried setting item property enabled false in triggers but it is not working.
Can someone help me what trigger i have to use and how?.

I hope u had gone to the screen fields which u want them not to be editable. So there u select all the fields contents which u do not want to to be changed and check the boxes with W.content and Display and save it. Once evrything is done u have to activate the particular transcation going in to the standard variants and put the name and click the activate button.

How to restrict user to change original file in word document.

Hi experts,
I am begineer in DMS. I am not able to understand how to restrict user to make any changes to a word document attached any DIR or any object link.
Ex: I have a created a DIR attaching a word doc to equipment master.
However, the user is still able to make changes to that word document usign CV03 tcode. I am sure most of you might have faced this problem. Please respond.
We are using SAP 3.1i version. It is very old version.

The task that you have mentioned could be accomplished by setting up a status network for your document type. While setting up the status network, SAP has defined statuses which could potentially lock objects and fields corresponding to that status type.

I am not aware of 3.0i but you can navigate to customisation --> Cross Application Components --> Document Management --> Control Data --> Define Document Types --> Click on a doc type and go to
define doc status.
Here if you define a document with status type S the object is essentially locked for editing.

I have program which has a user defined selection screen 9001. On executing the selection screen i call a ALV using resuse_alv_grid function module.
What problem I am facing is that when I press back button from ALV page it goes to the se38 editor instead of selection screen.
How to resolve this?

Hi,
This might be due to LEAVE TO TRANSACTION statement. You might be running the program from SE38. Try to run the program using Z-TCode assigned to it.

Krishna, <b>All</b> the Objects(prms,classes,tables,stru...) will be transported thru Transport Objects only..
Check Utilities->version->Version Mgt -> Here u will have the Transport number(if it's created under trnasportable obj).If you do not find TP no,then u would hav saved that as a Local Object.
Then Relase the TP no from SE10 Trnx.

How to refresh value in selection screen field

I have a requirement to refresh the value in selection screen.while i run the report in selection screen i selecting one variant for look the output if i use some other field value with same variant without save its working fine i am avle to see the data but while i come back to again selection screen and selecting some other variant that extra add value is not getting refresh its showing with new variant.Its happening for only one variant not for all if i select some other variant then its getting refresh value in same field.Any one can help me for this issue.

Hi,
That means, I believe - the value that is "not changing" is saved in the particular variant. You can easily verify it by starting the report without variant and then selecting the variant in question. Remove the value from screen and save the variant again. Don't forget to check of variant needs to be transported from development system...

Yes it is possible.
Open your query result in the design mode by going to BEx Analyzer->Design ToolBar
Now take one text element and assign it to the variable which you have used for the selection screen.
Take the same number of text element as there are in selection screen.
Exit the design mode. In place of the text element you will find the value of the variables assigned to them.
