How to get First X rows

I need to select only the first X (say 10) rows of an ordered result. Because the result set may be millions of rows, I do not like the idea of producing the entire result, including having it ordered, and then only iterating over the first few.
How can I get oracle to only return the first 10 rows?
Ex.

How to define 'First Vsible row' for Tree table in Web Dynpro

Hi,
I am using a table with a treebykeytablecolumn. The user can change the selected
line from another view and then I change the selected line within the tree according to his choice. This works fine.
Unfortunatelly, I did not succeed to change the displayed page in the tree, so the user has to scroll up or down to see the selected data, if it is not on the current page.
I try to bind the 'FirstVisibleRow', using the index of the selected element, but this
index does not fit. The page changes, but as the index is somehow 'wrong', it is not
the expected page that is shown.
Looping at the node, my selected element get index 30, but the selected line is the 8th one (regarding what is current ly open or not in the tree) and the 14th if we expand all nodes above.
So, is there a way to specify which line to be the 1st visible one when there is a tree column?

Follow these steps,
1- Create an attribute with char1 in the view context e.g first_vis_row
2- go to the table properties in view and bind the property first_visible_row to this attribute.
3- NOw go to the wddoinit method of the view...
4- read the internal table and find out the index of the row which you want to set as first row. As in ur case you want a specific date in first row. So read the internal table and findout the index.
5- now write this code, say your attribute name is first row inside node flag1...(you can change it for yoru requirement)

here change the lv_first_row to the index which you got after raeading the internal table.
suppose it's

The issue is caused by the order in which the parameters appear in the report data tab can be difference between our report execution and it failing. In other words, “Parameter2” is execution before parameter “A” due to this issue. We can adjust the parameter’s
order to solve the issue.
If “Parameter2” is parameter “A”, we cannot use that expression. Because fields cannot be used in report parameter expression, if we want to display the first value returned from a query as default value, we have to fill the “Specify values” text box with
the specific value in Default Values dialog box.

Pass the sale order number in the object key of NAST table,
if u get 3 entires, then u need to place ur entry in the fourth row in that table control thru BDC.

How to make first row as selected in af:table

I am using JDeveloper 11.1.1.4 and ADF-BC in my application.
In all the pages across my application we have multi select enabled for the table[af:table].
But when the pages are displayed,the first row is not selected by default.
My requirement is to display first row as selected across all the tables in my app.
I have the selectionListenerset as for example selectionListener="#{bindings.RSCMapVO2.collectionModel.makeCurrent}" in all the pages.
Please suggest on how to make first row as selected.

But here is my problem how can i align Title(DCS Clinical Report-Technician wise) center of pdf report with image named:logo5.png immediately coming to it's right?.
As the problem i am facing is my title or Header(DCS Clinical Report-Technician wise) is at top of my image named:logo5.png and not coming to it's center position of my image.

I’m sorry for the issue that you are hitting now.
This itextsharp is third party control, for this issue, I recommended to consult the control provider directly, I think they can give more precise troubleshooting.

I have no idea which component you're talking about. If want to discuss here about a non-Sun JSF component, then please mention about the name, version and build in detail. You can also consider posting this question at the website/forum/mailinglist of the component manfacturer rather than here. At least I can tell you that the Sun JSF h:dataTable has the 'rows' attribute for that. I can also suggest you to just take a look in the TLD documentation of the component in question. There should be all possible attributes listed with a detailed explanation about the behaviour.

Let's say for example user have to the use the form to enter all 10 items or few like 5 on their stock form into 4 different textbox field each lines of your form, however these items go into a "Stock_table" under Single insert transaction query when submit button is pressed.

I have a way to do this, but it would take some hand coding on your part. If you feel comfortable hand writing php code and doing manual database calls, specificaly database INSERT calls you should be fine.
Create a custom form using the ADDT Custom Form Wizard that has all the rows and fields you need. This may take a bit if you are adding the ability for up to 20 rows, as per your diagram of the form area. The nice thing about using ADDT to create the form is that you can setup the form validation at the same time. Leave the last step in the Custom Form Wizard blank. You can add a custom database call here, but I would leave it blank.
Next, under ADDT's Forms Server Behaviors, select Custom Trigger. At the Basic tab, you enter your custom php code that will be executed. Here you are going to want to put your code that will check if a value has been entered in the form and then do a database INSERT operation on the Stock_table with that row. The advanced tab lets you set the order of operations and the name of the Custom Trigger. By default, it is set to AFTER. This means that the Custom Trigger will get executed AFTER the form data is processed by the Custom Form Transaction.
I usually just enter TEST into the "Basic" tab of the Custom Trigger. Then set my order of operations in the "Advanced" tab and close the Custom Trigger. Then I go to the code view for that page in Dreamweaver and find the Custom Trigger function and edit the code manually. It's much easier this way because the Custom Trigger wizard does not show you formatting on the code, and you don't have to keep opening the Wizard to edit and test your code.
Your going to have to have the Custom Trigger fuction do a test on the submitted form data. If data is present, then INSERT into database. Here's a basic example of what you need to do:
In your code view, the Custom Trigger will look something like this:

This code checks to see if the form input field named Item_1 is set. If so, then get the rest of the values for the first item and insert them into the database. You would need to do this for each row in your form. So the if you let the customer add 20 rows, you would need to check 20 times to see if the data is there or write the code so that it stops once it encounters an empty Item field. To exit a Custom Trigger, you can return NULL; and it will jump out of the function. You can also throw custom error message out of triggers, but this post is already way to long to get into that.
$tNG->getColumnValue("Item_1") is used to retrieve the value that was set by the form input field named Item_1. This field is named by the Custom Form Wizard when you create your form. You can see what all the input filed names are by looking in the code view for something like:

There will be one for each field you created with the Custom Form Wizard.
Unfortunately, I don't have an easy way to do what you need. Maybe there is a way, but since none of the experts have responded, I thought I would point you in a direction. You should read all you can about Custom Triggers in the ADDT documentation/help pdf to give you more detailed information about how Custom Triggers work.

i installed the sqlite and sqlite-net as requested in other answers i found, changed to x86, and add the .db3 file in my project.
but the problem is how to retrive the data that already in the file( i am not creating any table or data in the app, just read)
all the answer i found is to create a table first and then read the table, i tried to skip the step of creating a table, and read from the table directly, but failed with " no such table", by the way, i set the property of the .db3 file as "content",
"copy if newer"

From your description, you want to read data from available sqlite file. When you add the sqlite file into your project, you need to change the sqlite file build action to content. After deploying to device, the sqlite file is located in installation folder,
you need to copy that file into storage folder before reading data. Please try the following code snippets.

How to implement "First Page" command in WAD

Hi there
I have a bug in my code, in that if the user pages down a few times, then chooses to Display All Rows (option provided in dropdown), the code works correctly to display all rows, but starts at the point at which the user was ... not from row 1 as should be the case.
In case this doesn't make sense :
- Assume that the table shows 10 rows at a time
- On first entry, rows 1-10 will be displayed
- User presses the standard page-down button ... rows 11-20 now displayed
- User now presses button to show all rows (say there are 30 rows in the query)
- User now sees rows 11-30, with no paging functionality.
I would like to add / insert an additional command which navigates to the first page, then shows all the rows, but I can't figure out how.
I have tried setting DATA_ROW_FROM to 1, but that doesn't help.
Please note that I can set the parameters to show all the rows, just need to be able to navigate to row 1 before I do that.

I'm now able to save the retrieved xml in a hidden text field and create dynamic table, and I'm able to fill this table from the XML, but the problem is that I could not find the correct way to loop on the xml, what I'm trying to say, the table will have number of rows with the data of the first row only, so can you tell me the right way to loop on the xml!
