How to Return the Index of a Mouse-Selected Array Element in the View Interface of Diadem
Hello,
Does anybody have an idea of how to obtain the index of a mouse-selected array element in the View interface of Diadem??
Thanks!
Hi Ovidius,
Keep explaining. The only way I know of to trap a selected cell value in VIEW is to embed into the desired VIEW area a second non-modal SUDialog that has a Table control or an XTable control displaying the values of certain data channels. There are callbacks in both table controls for cell selection, and you can configure the table control to allow only single cell selection if that's what you want. The regular table control will be easier to program, but the XTable control will perform much better for larger channels.
But what happens with that value the user selected? Is it used for a calculation? Is it added to a report? Why would the user select that cell in a table rather than selecting the corresponding feature in a graph with the crosshair cursor?

My situation is that I have an array of clusters on the front panel. Each element is used for a particular test setup, so if the array size is three, it means we have three identical test setups that can be used. The cluster contains two string controls and a button: 'device ID' string, 'start' button and 'status' string.
In order to keep the diagrams simple, I would like to use a reference to the array as input into a subvi. This subvi will then modify a particular element in the array (i.e. set the 'status' string).
The first problem I encounter is that I can not select an array element to write to by using the reference. I have tried setting the 'Selection s
tart[]' and 'Selection size[]' properties and then querying the 'Array element' to get the proper element.
If I do this, the VI always seems to write to the element which the user has selected (i.e. the element that contains the cursor) instead of the one I am trying to select. I also have not found any other possible use for the 'Selection' properties, so I wonder if I am doing something wrong.
Of course I can use the 'value' property to get all elements, and then use the replace array element with an index value, but this defeats the purpose of leaving all other elements untouched.
I had hoped to use this method specifically to avoid overwriting other array elements (such as happens with the replace array element) because the user might be modifying the second array element while I want to modify the first.
My current solution is to split the array into two arrays: one control and one indicator (I guess that's really how it should be done ;-) but I'd still like to know ho
w to change a single element in an array without affecting the others by using a reference in case I can use it elsewhere.> My situation is that I have an array of clusters on the front panel.

It isn't possible to get a reference to a particular element within an
array. There is only one reference to the one control that represents
all elements in the array.
While it may seem better to use references to update
an element within
an array, it shouldn't really be necessary, and it can also lead to
race conditions. If you write to an element that has the
possibility of the user changing, whether you write with a local, a
reference, or any other means, there is a race condition between the
diagram and the user. LV will help with this to a certain extent,
especially for controls that take awhile to edit like ones that use
the keyboard. In these cases, if the user has already started entering
text, it will not be overwritten by the new value unless the key focus
is taken away from the control first. It is similar when moving a slider
or other value changes using the mouse. LV will write to the other values,
but will not rip the slider out of the user's hand.
To completely avoid race conditions, you can split the array into user
fields and indicators that are located underneath them. Or, if some
controls act as both, you can do like Excel. You don't directly type
into the cell. You choose w
hich cell to edit, but you modify another
location. When the edit is completed, it is incorporated into the
display so that it is never lost.

When I tried the 3D I got an error message that said (could not complete the new 3D extrusion from selected layer command because the path is too complex.) what does this mean and how can i fix it?There was a bug at one time where really simple paths (like a triangle, for example) could cause that error.
Is your path really simple (I don't plan to go watch the video)? If so, have you installed the latest update for Photoshop? That bug may have been fixed already.
If it's not that, it's possible that if your path is really complex and simply exceeding Photoshop's capability.

Hi ,
Anti- alisa feature only available to text layers not image layers.
you can add blur to make it smooth (if image has not too much details ).

How to associate lines in a text file as an elements of the Vector?
Hi!
I have used BufferedReader(new FileReader(c:/java/MyText.txt)) to read from MyText.txt file. Now I know how to load content of this file (every line in file describes each photo in my photo-set) into a Vector. But how to associate lines of MyText.txt as an elements of the Vector?
Thanks Felipe for his help.
DM.Thank you telism,
Let me tell you the whole story.
I'm trying to write an application which has to show my image files (set of photos) with a text description. The list of image files placed into the JList. So, when I select a file from the JList it shows me an image (everything is OK).
But, every image has it's text description in MyText.text file. It's a file with each text line for every image. Actually, I am trying to connect two actions - showing my image and setting it's specified text line description (from MyText.txt) in a JTextArea. I thought that the best way to do this with my text it is like I did it with my images through Vector. But No Success.
Can You help me on that? If You will show me how to do it on my example I will really appreciate it.
Thank You DM.

<s:attribute name="URI" type="s:string" />
</s:complexType>
Any suggestion is appreciated.

pavanYou have 2 options i guess.
Use the transformation and the for-each to construct the array-list
or like Richard said, use a loop in bpel, assign in the loop an variable of element type="CSParameters" and append this variable to your variable with accepts the arraylist. -
My code to "select" an element in the Tree UI element is not consistently working
Hi,
I created a Web Dynpro component that does many things. One feature is do display information in a Tree UI element. I use the TreeNodeType and recursive context node to build a nice tree representing what the customer wants. Since this tree could get very large, I implemented a search feature to help users locate items in the tree. When found, I expand the tree, and call call set_lead_selection passing in the element where found. This seems to generally work fine (and highlights the highlights the desired TreeNodeType), but only when going farther down in the tree. If I change the search so that it should find something "higher up" in the tree, the search still works, and it finds the data, but calling the set_lead_selection does not seem to unhighlight a previously located TreeNodeType. I have added code to loop through all elements in the tree and call set_selected( ABAP_FALSE). This didn't seem to help. If I use the mouse and manually click on the root of the tree, it seems deselect previously highlight TreeNodeTypes, and the highlighting works again (but still just going forward).
I implemented a Find Next feature that starts where the last search left off, and looks farther down the tree. This works more consistent, but still occassionaly seems to "forget" to unhighlight a previously located TreeNodeType/element.
What am I doing wrong?
I am attaching a screen shot.Hi Perry,
Before setting the lead selection of found result, try to clear all the selected elements from context node.
Sample:
data lo_node type ref to if_wd_context_node.
lo_node = wd_context->get_child_node ( name = 'MY_NODE' ).
"Clear the current selection
lo_node->clear_selection( ).
" now, set the lead selection
lo_node->set_lead_selection( .... )
Hope this helps you.

Can the position and szing of a control element in a View be controlled from the ViewModel?
Is it possible to change the position of a control, say a label, as a response to some action/operation from the ViewModel? Like if one response to something is true then place the label in the top left corner. If false, place the label
in the lower right corner. I realize you could have a label in each position and just set the visibility. But can the position and sizing of said label be controlled from the View Model? What would be a sample coding of this? would
it be in the xaml or combination of a method in the ViewModel and the xaml?
Rich PFirst off Rich, say TextBlock to yourself ten times.
Use a TextBlock rather than a label.
There are a bunch of different ways to do this and the easiest is to have two controls whose text is bound to the one property.
Bind the Visibility of each to another 2 properties in the viewmodel.
Collapse one and Visible the other.
The reason for that is that it's easier.
Technically, you could put one textblock in a grid and use margin to control this. You could animate x y co-ordinates and move the textblock mysteriously across the window if you put your mind to it.
Or you could put it in a row/column "cell" of a grid and change which cell it goes in - but that would involve some mechanism like messaging from the viewmodel to the view and is not really ideal if you can avoid it.
I'd have a pair of textblocks, here's one:
<TextBlock Name="TopLeftMsg"
Text="{Binding Msg}"
Visiblity="{Binding TopLeftVis}"
Both would bind to a public string property msg in the viewmodel.
They each get their own public visibility property and that'd be switched between Visibility.Visible and Visibility.Collapsed.
Sizing of textblocks is best fitted to content because all you see is the text.
Textboxes are arguably different because you can see the things.
Hope that helps.

Display a particular array element on the front panel
Hello,
I was wondering if it's possible to change which element of an array control is displayed on the front panel from within the program.
Here's why I want to do it: I have an array of clusters, each of which contains a set of controls. The controls in each cluster specify a bunch of different parameters for a few different instruments that are being controlled by Labview. The user changes all the values on the front panel before the program starts, then the program steps through the array elements one by one. I'd like to be able to change the array's display so that the user can know which set of parameters is active (and thus what is currently in force) while the program is going -- otherwise the element that is displayed is just wherever the user left it last.
Thanks in advance for any help.See also: http://forums.ni.com/ni/board/message?board.id=170&view=by_date_ascending&message.id=317419#M317419

I am also getting the "getadblock.com" every time I open Safari...it opens to that window and then downloads an adblock extension, which I do not want.
From your Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferencees then select the Extensions tab.
Uninstall the getadblock extension.
Quit and relaunch Safari to test.
If you launch Safari with the Shift key depressed and it doesn't open the General tab...
Might be corrupted Safari preferences ...
Open a Finder window. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
Type or copy paste the following:

Click Go then move the com.apple.Safari.plist file to the trash.
Quit and relaunch Safari to test.

my brand new mac pro wont download movies on imovie. I connect my sony XR150 and I can see the clips in the imovie window but when I select import, I get the spinning circle of doom. Very disappointing. I just moved from a PC because Mac's were supposed to be much better handling media.
If Image Capture can recognize your camera and allow you to upload the stills and videos to a folder on the Desktop that's what I would do. Then you can import those files into iPhoto, FCP or iMovie as you want.

How to return a data structure such as an array from PJC to a Form
Hello,
I am trying to find a way to return an array of data from PJC.
I know how to do it one cell at a time, but it is a very slow way to develope
a program.
Is there any way to return an array of data from PJC with a single method call?
This seems to be impossible, because the GET_CUSTOM_PROPERTY only returns
strings.
Best regards,

How to correctly apply index to table for select optimization
i have the table
create table [dbo].[DatasetsIndex]
[ID] [int] IDENTITY(1,1) NOT NULL,
[postcode] [char](16) NULL,
[city] [nvarchar](255) NULL,
[country_code] [char](2) NULL,
CONSTRAINT [PK_DatasetsIndex] PRIMARY KEY CLUSTERED
[ID] ASC
and select query
select * from
[dbo].[DatasetsIndex] where city
LIKE N'".$locality."%' and country_code='US'
so always i should find city for country.
How to optimize the table to speed up query. Now i have a lot of rows and query time is 5 seconds. Which index will be optimal ?please don't use "select *" in your query, select only required column in your select query,
Assuming you are going to get postcode in select, the query can be.
select city,postcode from
[dbo].[DatasetsIndex] where city
LIKE N'".$locality."%' and country_code='US'
then the cover index may look like.
Create index idx_City_countrycode on [DatasetsIndex]([city],[country_code])
include ([postcode])
