    I'm sure you must have been taught using the command: java yourClassName after navigating to the location of your compiled class in the command prompt.I'm sure the OP does not need condescending remarks from someone who knows almost as little Java as s/he does.

    You are compiling it in 1.5 and expecting 1.4 to run it?
    You have two options: compile it at the 1.4 level or upgrade your Mac to 1.5

  • Running the .class file from java code

    I'm doing a kind of providing service like compiling and running Java code on server side and giving output to the end user.
    Please suggest me an approach with code to run .class file from the Java code.
    import java.io.*;
    public class demo {
    public static void main(String args[]) throws IOException, InterruptedException {
    int result;
    try {
    System.out.println("command output:");
    Process proc = Runtime.getRuntime().exec("java -cp . demoh");
    InputStream in = proc.getInputStream();
    result = proc.waitFor();
    BufferedInputStream buffer = new BufferedInputStream(proc.getInputStream());
    BufferedReader commandOutput = new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(buffer));
    String line = null;
    System.out.print(commandOutput);
    try {
    while ((line = commandOutput.readLine()) != null) {
    System.out.print(line);
    System.out.println("command output: " + line);
    }//end while
    commandOutput.close();
    } catch (IOException e) {
    //log and/or handle it
    }//end catc
    } catch (IOException e) {
    System.err.println("IOException raised: " + e.getMessage());
    }

    What happened when you tried what you have there?

    You can use Migration Assistant or Manually move files using an External Hard Drive.

    You can also use your home network to share files with the new iMac.

  • How to run standalone java file from weblogic server on Solaris

    Hi,
    We have a requirement to run a java file at a scheduled time in a day using cron scheduler on our linux server.
    We need to fetch data from the database & perform some business logic in this standalone JAVA file.
    Our application has an EAR which is deployed on Weblogic 10.3 server & in our application, we are utilizing the datasource created in that domain.
    Now, we have created a standealone Java file & used exisitng datasource (without Hibernate) of the domain with the help of below forums,
    Use DataSource of weblogic in a standalone Java file
    able to achieve the same.
    I've bundled this JAVA in application WAR & depoyed on the same domain where datasource is created.
    Now, how can I execute this file from anywhere on the server using weblogic classpath.
    Please help on the same in implementation.
    Thanks,
    Uttam

    If the Java application must be stand-alone you must not deploy it on WebLogic, then WebLogic will manage its lifecycle.
    In this case you can use the CommonJ API and use the timermanager if it must run on a certain time. More information
    of how to do this can be found here: http://middlewaremagic.com/weblogic/?p=5569
    If you keep the Java application stand-only and want to use a cron job you can follow the example presented here: http://middlewaremagic.com/weblogic/?p=7065
    Note that the example runs a WLST script, but you can follow the same steps to run your Java application.

  • How to restrict the .class file from decompilation

    Hi all,
    i got a security problem. i need all the java class files to be most secured. is there any to restriction on the java class files from decompilation. is that possible?. pls help me out. it's very urgent
    thanks in advance

    You can make it harder to understand the decompiled code if you use an obfuscator. (I don't have links to any, do a google search, or search these forums, it have been discussed here previously.)
    You cannot completely prevent decompilation, though. Obfuscating does not for example not mean that any passwords you have hardcoded in the source is secure.

  • How to run java source files from other java files??

    hello all,
    i need to run 3 to 4 .java files (first.java,second.java,third.java) from one file.
    i tried the
    Runtime.getRuntime().exec(cmd); but here cmd must be an exe file.
    NOTE THAT i need to run the first.java file ,second.java file each time to generate their .class files(ie I NEED TO COMPILE THEM ALL TIMES AND THEN RUN THEM)
    PLZ. help me if this can be done,
    warm regards,
    Vishal.

    One way to do this is to put all your commands into a batch file (this is Windows?) try unix shell otherwise. Anyway here's an example .bat file called cmplrun.bat:
    @echo off
    javac -classpath . TestCase*.java
    java -cp . TestCase01
    java -cp . TestCase02
    java -cp . TestCase03Then the Java pgm can look like this:
    import java.io.*;
    public class RunProcess {
      public static void main(String[] arg) {
        try {
          Process myProcess;
          myProcess = Runtime.getRuntime().exec("cmd /c cmplrun");
          String s = null;
          DataInputStream in = new DataInputStream(
                               new BufferedInputStream(
                                   myProcess.getInputStream()));
          while ((s = in.readLine()) != null) {
            System.out.println(s);
          System.exit(0);
        catch (IOException e) {
          System.out.println("Exception: "+ e);
          System.exit(-1);
    }Just one way to do this, all caveats apply and HTH;

  • How to run several class files at the same time

    I have four class files, there's: cvnt1.class,cvnt2.class,cvnt3.class and cvnt4.class.
    I want to know how to write application for running all of those files together. thanks!

    Your question is still unclear - do you want to access code from those class files (just add all of them to classpath) or do you want to create number of threads or number of processes (one per class) and start code from each class simultaneously or something else?

  • Trying to run java class files from my jsp

    I am having difficulty running java files from my jsp. I have compiled my two java classes and inserted them onto my server in the webapps/WEB-INF/classes/scripting directory and have imported scripting.* into my jsp page. The files both compiled ok before the class files were loaded onto the server but when I rty to run the jsp from the server, I keep getting a compiler error. Thanks in advance
    Iob

    Here are the few question
    1) Does your java classes which u created is declared under package scripting. *.class files are to be places under the WEB-INF/classes directory only. Not under scripting. But if you java classes say are under a package called a.b. Then you need to put under classes\a\b\.

    Hi, I would like to execute a batch file from within an oracle form - I'm assuming there's some PLSQL command I can use? • How to call java class file from jsp

    hi
    we need to call java classes (which are written separately in .java file )from jsp file. we need it for our project if anyone knows about please reply us.
    bye
    siva sankari

    you can call the methods in a lot of ways. you could use scriptlets with the
    <%@ page import="package.class"%> and then inside instantiate an object
    <%
         MyClass mc = new MyClass(parameters if any);
         mc.theMethodYouWantToCall();
    %>or as Madathil has stated,
    or use the JSP tags
    <jsp:useBean id="anyname" class="classname"/>and then use the getProperty tag
    or even Custom Tags
