How to run a LV7 Vi under LV5.1

happen to have a Vi (written in LV7) i need to run on an old lab PC, which needs to have LV5.1. I could save it for LV6.1, but that didn't help me. Is there any way except doing it again on LV 5.1? No, i don't have a copy of LV6.1 do downgrade it further.
Regards, Tobias

Bogdani is correct, you need to install the 6.0
runtime engine. Each version of LabVIEW has it's own runtime engine to
support the executables builts with that version.
You can download the Windows version 6.0 runtime here.

Using the Abort button to stop your VI is like using a tree to stop your car. It works, but there may be consequences.

  • How to run rman with cron under RHEL3?

    I am exhausted with all my options and knowledge with this. Tried 2 days with all possibilities, but failed. I have a Oracle 10g r2 (10.2.0.2) on a RHEL3 box. I wrote an orabackup.sh file as
    rman target sys/pw@backup nocatalog <<EOF
    run
    { backup as backupset incremental level 1 cumulative device type disk tag 'Thu_full_bkup%LEVEL_1'  database;
    recover copy of database;
    backup device type disk tag 'Thu_full_bkup%LEVEL_1' archivelog all not backed up;
    delete noprompt obsolete device type disk;
    exit
    EOF
    I have tried this with cron (crontab) under both oracle and root env with $PATH containing the $ORACLE_HOME/bin as the first. The cron job under the crontab is as
    44 17 * * * "/home/oracle/orabackup.sh >> /home/oracle/rmanbk.log 2>&1". And it kept returning with either "RMAN: command not found" or the "/bin/sh: line 1: /home/oracle/orabackup.sh >> /home/oracle/rmanbk.log 2>&1: No such file or directory". I had included su - oracle -c in the either script or cron job with or without quote, but result the same error. Does not matter the cron phrase was /home/oracle or without it. Some sites suggested to enter the #!/bin/sh as the first line of the script, tried that and failed too. So what exact I should phrase both the script and cron to let it run automatically. I could run the script manually under either oracle and root env.

    I'll try to rephrase. There are (at least) three cases:
    1. When you login with a terminal (e.g. with telnet, ssh) then the file ".bash_profile" is run automatically if your default shell is bash (check $SHELL to verify). In this case your personally-configured $PATH will be known with no effort on your side.
    2. When a script is run by cron through crontab, then no login script is run automatically. In that case, you need to explicitly tell the script to run your login script, i.e. ".bash_profile". Otherwise, $PATH will not include $ORACLE_HOME/bin.
    3. This case was not discussed before in this thread: When cron runs a job following "at" or "batch" commands, then the job will know all exported variables that were defined in the executing session. This shows that running a script with "at" is not a sufficient test before letting it run through crontab.
    I may have not been perfectly correct here. It's best if you read the manuals for "bash", "at", and "cron" to know all about the subject.

  • How to Run 3.1 Servers under different account

    I have waded through all the install PDFS, and still do not see this - how can I change the account that runs the different services?
    In R2 you could change the account in the various services from Local System to another account, where is this done now?
    Is this now just done in one place, the SIA, and ALL services run under this one account?
    but in the ADMIN PDF, there's this on page 133
    "In the CCM, select the node on which the servers runs, then update the password or account."
    I see that there is an account here, but I cannot change it, and when I stop the node, then the whole page dies.
    I need to run the CR job server with a single SQL account that has SELECT rights to the data.
    TIA
    Rick

    If I wanted yet another SIA, would I use 8410? Then 9410? What if one of these ports are in use?
    This feels very random, is there a way to methodically select which port to choose?
    And now there's no option (that I can find) to add a Crystal Reports Job Server.
    I have tried to add every server in every Service Category, and there is no Job Server or Crystal Reports Job Server that is obvious.
    Where is this hiding?
    Thanks again
    Rick

    HELP

    To run more than 1 instance of Logic at the same time, you really need 2 copies as while the license allows you to install on 2 machines (1 laptop 1 desktop ideally), they can not run at the same time.
    So, where now? Well there is a legitimate way around this, assuming you have a fast enough network between the 2 computers and that is to have 1 machine running as a Logic Node to share the work out. When I'm not 'Out and about' I could use the MacBook Pro as a node for my home setup (For example) running some of the soft synths for example.

    2. How To Do     2
    2.1 jre preparation     2
    2.2 Put them into the system     2
    2.3 Execute a Java Web Start under jre 1.4.x version     3
    2.4 Change Java Runtime Versions     3
    2.5 Launch an Integration Builder     6
    1. Situation
    OS: windows 2000 pro – English
    Java version: jdk 1.5.x was already installed. (It’s not permitted to change.)
    I don’t have any authorization to install any software on the PC.
    But I need to use an Integration Builder.
    I already knew URLs of an Integration Builder (http://<hostname>:50000/rep/start/repository.jnlp).
    2. How To Do
    At this moment, an Integration Builder (XI 3.0) can be launch under jre 1.4.x environment (on windows).
    2.1 jre preparation
    I download j2re-1_4_2_10-windows-i586-p.exe from http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/download.html
    I installed it on my home PC and copied all files from C:\Program Files\Java\ j2re1.4.2_10\ into my USB.
    2.2 Put them into the system
    I pasted j2re1.4.2_10 folder from my USB into the windows 2000 pro system.
    Finally, I could list up all of javaws.exe under this system.
    c:\j2re1.4.2_10\javaws\javaws.exe
    c:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.5.0_05\bin\javaws.exe
    c:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.5.0_05\jre\bin\javaws.exe
    c:\Program Files\Java\jre1.5.0_05\bin\javaws.exe
    2.3 Execute a Java Web Start under jre 1.4.x version
    I executed c:\j2re1.4.2_10\javaws\javaws.exe .
    2.4 Change Java Runtime Versions
    Go to File-> Preferences -> Java
    As you can see, it indicates 1.5 version.
    Click [FIND] button.
    Click [NEXT] button.
    Click the j2re1.4.2_10 folder.
    Click [NEXT] button.
    A JRE Finder is able to find javaw.exe automatically. Or you can indicate C:\j2re1.4.2_10\bin\javaw.exe directly.
    Click [NEXT] button.
    Finally, there are two Java Runtime Versions. Now you need to uncheck the Enabled column of 1.5 version and check 1.4 version.
    Click [OK] button.
    Well, in the General tab, I selected None for Proxies.
    2.5 Launch an Integration Builder
    In the Location field, I typed the URL of an Integration Builder jnlp.
    http://<hostname>:50000/rep/start/repository.jnlp
    SAP Integration Builder comes up inside Applications area.
    Select it and click [Start] button.
    If you click Environment-> Integration Builder (Configuration), you can launch Integration Builder: Configuration.

    I am not getting anywhere with deploying my application or
    applet.
    I have set up my bc4j project. It contains all my VO info,
    links, application module. (proj a)
    I then have another project with DbInfo in it(has all my rowset
    info), Multiple Frames, and my Applet.java file.
    Actually I have an Applet.java file and a Application.java file
    because I was seeing if both/either worked. Anyway they seem the
    same, except for that extra window that comes up when you run the
    applet.
    I follow the steps in the oracle directions (from earlier post).
    And all seems ok. But at ---->
    [*] Select the subdirectory under myhtml where your applet's HTML
    file
    is located, and enter the directory path of the 'staging'
    directory you
    created in step 3 above, if different from the default.</li>
    [*]Select the HTML files that JDeveloper created to run your
    applet.</li>
    [*]Select all of the Java source files in your project that make
    up the
    applet.</li>
    I have no HTML file associated with my applet, at least that I
    know of.
    So do I need to create one, or should it of been done
    automatically.
    Also, I trying to figure out what will be the best way to deploy
    my project. Applet or stand alone application is what my first
    choices have been so far. I have read that there is some issues
    with applets being served from a different server than the
    database. So a stand alone application was my front runner, but
    I haven't gotten either way to work yet.

  • How to run .exe files with Virtual PC for Mac

    Hey Guys, I'm new around here and with mac technology as well. Anyway, I have an iMac OS X 10.5.1 Leopard and I've recently purchased the Virtual PC for Mac 7.0.2 software. So I'd like to know how to use this program properly, because I need to run some executable files in my computer. It is confusing for me because I don't know how to get started, and I only get to the part when it says "OS not found, Install an OS on this hard drive".
    Honestly I've no idea of what an OS is or where do I get that. So I'd really appreciate if one of you guys could tell me, step by step, what to do to use Virtual PC properly, and finally learn how to run .exe files on mac.
    Thanks in advance!
    Have a nice day!

    Always nice to see new faces
    Honestly I've no idea of what an OS is or where do I get that.
    This brings up the second part of your problem. The first part is setting up either a proper Virtual Machine program like Parallels or VMfusion, or setting up a Boot Camp partition on your drive.
    http://www.parallels.com/
    http://www.vmware.com/products/fusion/
    OS stands for Operating System. You are running Leopard 10.5.7 as an operating system on your Mac (MacOS X).
    The second part of your problem - You will need a copy of Windows XP or Vista if you want to run Windows on your Mac.
    There is at least one other solution for running Windows programs on a Mac. It's called "CrossOver" by a company named 'Codeweavers'. It's based on a project for "Wine" to be able to run PC programs on a Mac or Linux, without having to buy or install Windows. It works with a narrow subset of Windows programs so you would want to make sure the program you want to run is compatible with CrossOver before you buy it.
    http://www.codeweavers.com/products/cxmac/
    In addition to all the above information, you need to upgrade your Mac to the latest 10.5.7 from 10.5.1. "Software Update" is located under the black Apple icon in the Menu Bar at the top left corner of your monitor. After you are updated you will want to update your Profile here so that it shows the proper OS version.
    With your level of experience with MacOS X and the Windows OS's you should probably get some help from a local Apple store. They have an appointment system and do offer many types of help and training, and they can offer assistance with choosing the proper programs for you to purchase for your machine.
    You are also welcome to continue to ask questions here, of course. You will want to ask your questions with different issues that come up in different threads so that the answers stay focused on the title of the thread.

  • How to run JavaFX jar with JRE7 on MAC OS Lion 10.7.5 ?

    I have created a bundled JavaFX application jar with ANT on Windows 8 O.S. , 64 bit machine. I have JavaFx2.0 and Java 1.7.0_09 installed on my Window O.S.

                              <mkdir dir="${WorkingFolder}/temp/libs"/>
                             <copy todir="${WorkingFolder}/temp/libs">

                        </fx:resources>
                        <fileset dir="${WorkingFolder}/build"/>
                        <fileset dir="${WorkingFolder}/resources"/>
                        </fx:jar>
         </target> When I am trying to run that JavaFX application jar on MAC OS Lion 10.7.5 using
    java -jar application.jar
    It always shows a dialog "The application require a newer version of Java Run-time" with download link. Even I have downloaded and successfully installed it on my MAC machine but it still shows me the same window.
    java -version is always point to 1.6.
    Then I searched for Java Preferences to point the current JRE 1.7 but I could find Java Preferences at Applications -> Utilities -> Java -> Java Preferences.
    I would like to know -- how to run JavaFX jar with JRE7 on MAC OS Lion 10.7.5? Is their any other way to run the JavaFX application JAR with JRE7?

    Do I need to download the whole JAVA 1.7 on MAC to run the JAR? No
    Can not I run the Jar file with Jre7?Yes, you can.
    This may be because I have downloaded the JRE 1.7Yep, that's correct, the java_home command only works for jdk's - sorry for the confusion.
    For jre7+ versions, only a single Oracle jre version is allowed to be installed on the machine at a time - making a tool like java_home redundant for jre checking.
    Weirdly, jre7u10 does not supplant the Apple Java on the command line path by default. If you just type java -v, then the Apple java version will displayed if you have an old Java 6 from Apple and a new Oracle jre7+.
    The Oracle jre is always located under (also somewhat strangely):
    /Library/Internet\ Plug-Ins/JavaAppletPlugin.plugin/Contents/Home/bin/javaTo test jar launching, I used the willow JavaFX browser pre-release jar available here:
    http://code.google.com/p/willow-browser/downloads/detail?name=Willow-0.1-prerelease.jar
    Then I launched the jar from the command line using:
    /Library/Internet\ Plug-Ins/JavaAppletPlugin.plugin/Contents/Home/bin/java -jar Willow-0.1-prerelease.jar The JavaFX jar ran fine on jre7 with the above machine.
    The test machine was running Mac OS X 8 with Oracle jre7u10 installed as well as the Apple Java 6 runtime, but no Oracle jdk7+ installed.

    %>

    I don't have further info to add to your first post, but think your guess seems quite reasonable. I thought of starting a new thread on the same topic, but think this (question) fits in here, too.
    I have Java code (freeware, not opensoure), intended for Unix, which basically provides the graphical interface and relies on an I/O layer (C + shell scripts) to do most of the work. I have access to the C+shell scripts which are opensource. I ported it to Cygwin and want to use it under Windows (there is no Cygwin native Java VM).
    My problem now boils down to " how to run commands under Unix and what differences are there with Windows". What are the variants?
    I have to guess what the program is doing when I get an IOException at some point. E.g.: a call to shell script may be made in a different way as to a compiled exe in Unix?. I found a way to bypass path problems because forward slashes are also accepted and /cygdrive/c construct can be replace by c:/; shell scripts can be compiled into exes using shc and they work; if symbolic links are replaced by duplication of exe files, they work. What will happen in an instance whereby a process runs a shell script dynamically, through a pipe (the shell script is compiled in the Cygwin/win version and receives parameters) in a construct like:
    pipefp = epopen(cmdbuf,"w"); /* (cmbuf is "makehdr par1 par2 ... ") (makehdr was a shell script and is now compiled exe for Cygwin/Windows) */?.
    Thanks.

  • Urgent: how to run applet which connected to the servlet?

    hi frends:
    i have written an applet on the server side and it supposed to pass parameters to my servlet and retrieve some info from the servlet.
    i put both applet and servlet under tomcat../WEB-INF/classes. but when i run the applet from the web browser, there is no response from the servlet.
    could anyone help me to solve this problem?
    one more thing is i know that applet is able to connect to servlet, but how about java application? is it able to do so? if yes, is it also using URLconnection as applet? and how to run it?
    i will be very appreciate if anyone can help me... thanx a million.

    You can connect to the servlet from an application.There's a URL class in java.net that has an openConnection method. Then cast the return to an HttpURLConnection and use setMethod to set up as a post request.This may be the default if you call setDoOutput(true) on the URLConnection. Then you'll need to get an OutputStream and write properly formatted form POST data to it. It's also possible to encode your data on the URL, even when using the POST method, and this may be easier when doing it programmatically from an application. To send a get request you can append the name-value pair at the end of the url.
