How to run a self-contained (server-less) HTML5 page on iPad?

Hi,
For our company, we have an "app" in HTML5, though it's not an app in the Apple sense.  It's just a set of a couple of html5 pages, some javascript and css.  It requires no webserver.  It's purely self-contained.
My question is--how do I load this on our user's iPads?  I'm hoping I don't have to go through the whole maze of making it an 'app' on the appstore.
This is a private business app and again--it doesn't reach out to the internet.  It just displays an HTML page, has some links to other local html pages, uses some javascript, images, etc.  It does create some data files which we would extract from the iPad (or preferrable send via email).
Is this something I can just copy to some folder on the iPad and somehow make a shortcut to the main html page as the launch icon?
Thanks,
--Jim

You going to have to find some web browser that excepts local files. Try sending yourself an html file and see what happens.
Check over in the developer discussion.

At last option would be an open source browser.

  • How to run Java on distant server?

    Hello,
I am quiet new in Java community.
I would like to buid java servers pages and run it on a server.
I could intall Tomcat and Java on my local server.
Now I would like to do it on a distant server.
    How to do?
    Thanks for your attention.

    Thanks.
This is confused and confusing probably because my english is not my language, and because i am not sure how a Java application works.
For running JSP on my local server, it is was easy, and I did need to know how it really works. I installed Tomcat server and Java SDK.
To run my application, i jsut need to type http://localhost:8080/myPage.jsp.
    That description is not exact.
The server is running Tomcat with your application.
Your browser (not the application) connects to the server (tomcat) and the server (tomcat) runs your application and returns the result to the browser.
If i want to run the same myPage.jsp on my distant server, i would need probably to install something on my server?
www.mywebsite.com/myPage.jsp will not work just like that of course.
You need to install a number of things. At a minimum Tomcat and your application (the thing that runs inside Tomcat.) There is likely to be other requirements as well such as java and patches and perhaps a database server (if your application uses a database.)
So what do i need exactly to install on my server to run a JSP?
In fact, i am afraid if i install Tomcat on my server, the other applications will not work. What "other" applications?
Is Tomcat already installed on the server? Is there already other applications running on that server? Then yes you must install your application into Tomcat (not the server) such that it will not stop the other applications (in Tomcat) from running.

  • How do I create a new paragraph Style in Pages for iPad?

I opened an RTF document in iOS 6 Pages for iPad. How do I create new paragraph Syles?

Style is a function of the template applied to the document (and/or the limited number built in to Pages). You can mofify the text or apply one of the built in styles, but I do not beleive within Pages in iOS you can create a new style.

  • Using Pages app, how can I separate a document into individual PDF pages on iPad to email

I am trying to email individual pages of my document to different people as PDF attachments. I am using pages for iPad and I don't see the option to email current page as PDF, any help appreciated!

If you don't have iTunes you will need to buy the song from the iTunes store and download it that way. If it is a custom track you may be out of luck.  The only way to get a song on your device without iTunes involves jailbreaking it.
iOS is set up to prevent people from emailing each other songs, videos, movies, books, etc. This is how Apple got their contracts with the content providers by promising that they would do what ever it takes to prevent people from sharing content that they didn't pay for.

  • How to run servlets in IIS Server

    Hi Techies,
I had read in one book , in IIS server we can run servlets n jsp.
Can u guys tell how can we run servlets n jsp in IIS server. Does we need to include some 3rd party software in IIS
    regards,
    KRish

Well if you were to use apache you would use the
    mod_jk_apache2
However, im really not sure if that is around for win32 systems. However, as i said above im not 100% on windows systems.
If you really want to test portability set aside a 5gb partition and install linux which most standard distros already have apache2/tomcat installed.(Fedora)
Also i have to agree this seems less and less java based and more and more system based.
If you plan on taking the route mentioned above start a post at places like linuxquestions.org since they have more tech junkies then you could imagine.

  • How to run report without report server

    hi
my question : how i can run report without using the report server; by simple URL to the report stored in directory and accessing by HTTPserver; and the report is running by the local client runtime.
    thinks for replay

    hello,
what you could try, is to associate the RDF/REP extension with a mimetype (e.g. application/oracle.reports) on the server and then add this mimetype to the browser applications associated with the reports runtime executable.

you need to redefine the server root...
    for that do the following...
copy all the directory tree rooted at
    JAKARTA-HOME/webapps/ROOT/examples/jsp/myapp/ to
    JAKARTA-HOME/webapps/ROOT/myapp/
    -OR-
in the server.xml, search for "Tomcat Root Context" and un-comment the code defining Root Context...
change the docBase value from "ROOT" to "ROOT/examples/jsp"

  • How to delete the files from server through OAF page

    Hi All,
I have a requirement in which i am creating files on server through my CO code.
Now once the page is rendered, i want to delete the files from the server.
Just wondering how can we achieve this.
    Kindly advice!
    Thanks,
    Sachin

    Hi Sachin
all the methods in the processRequest() are called during loading of the page.
all the methods in the processFormRequest() are called during any action events on the page.
So Use the method in processFormRequest() : write a method in
that on which action you want to delete the file.
    regards
