How to run another application in the project?

Well, the title says it all really. I created a new
application within my existing project but I can't get it to run as
it always runs my main application (which has a little blue sphere
on its icon).
How can I get the other application to test and/or
run?

configuration is created. You edit the launch configuration
to change the default main application file. You can also

Creating or editing a launch configuration
When you create and build a project, it is ready to be run or
debugged. Both running and debugging of the applica-
tions in your project are controlled by a launch
configuration. By default, Flex Builder creates a launch
configuration for each of the application files in your project the
first time you run or debug them. The configurations are based on
the default Flex application configuration, and you can edit them
as necessary.
Launch configurations are managed in the Create, Manage, and
Run Configurations dialog box.

How to run an application in the background when iMac starts up?

Hi,
I installed TextExpander a couple of months back. It normally runs in the background and doesn't appear in my list of running applications when I cycle through them with Cmd+Tab. This is how I like it.
Of late though, TextExpander starts up when I switch on my machine, but it now appears as an application running in the foreground; if I Cmd+Tab through my running applications, TextExpander is listed among them.
I'd prefer if I did not see it when switching between applications.
I've tried restarting the machine, but to no avail. Also, there is nothing in the preferences to run in the background.
(Possibly unrelated: I don't recall doing anything in particular that might have caused this change in behaviour, but I have noticed recently that TextExpander has found an 'older version' and is asking me if I want to remove it. I don't remember updating it to a newer version, and I don't believe I have it set to auto-update.)
Can anyone explain how I can make it run in the background? I'd be very grateful.

A little embarrassing, but +there is+ an option within TextExpander's preferences to "Hide TextExpander icon in Dock". Don't know how I missed it. I checked the preferences on two separate occasions! Feeling a little morto'ed.
In any case, to confirm what I've done:
-Within System Preferences > Accounts > Login items tab, I have selected the "hide" checkbox for TextExpander.

TextExpander still runs, but doesn't appear in the Dock or in the list of running applications (that I can switch between with Cmd+Tab).

Run another application

hello peepz...
i was wondering if it is possible to run another application when the user open another. what i mean is when user open applicationA, it will automatically run applicationB. The reason why i need this is because i want to use applicationB as a database engine to poll data from a device but i cannot combine applicationA and applicationB together in one application because when i run the engine, the program just hang.
so would appreciate it if someone show me how i could do that...

Go to your computer's System Tray and try ejecting. If you can't eject, there is an application that is trying to access your iPod.
Go to http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb896653.aspx and download ProcessExplorer.
Go to http://support.microsoft.com/kb/555665 and follow the instructions under Resolution.
Note that this is a good, general process any time you can't access any file.
In my case an update to RealPlayer installed a program called RecordingManager that was accessing my iPod.

I have recently downloaded MacKeeper. It ran OK for a bit, but has recently stopped allowing Internet security updates and switching on of the internet protection options.
Asked for help at MacKeeper. Their initial advice did not work, so a very nice technician was going to remotely attempt to fix the issue.
He however needed/still needs access to Terminal, a to me unbeknown Utility feature of my MacBook pro with Mac OS X 10.6.8.
While attempting to open Terminal the following came up
You are not authorised to run this application.
The administrator has set your shell to an illegal value.
Did do a diskverify permission and repair and restart.
Did check my admin settings in advanced options and have the /bin/bash.
Any advice anyone.

After finally localing private/etc/shells through Go>Go to folder and replacing the empty shells with the shells~orig I have permission again to open Terminal. Thanks. Another step.
(Why though can't I access /private/etc/... through Finder's search?)
Should work but the file or folder needs to exists to access it. If you typed in /private/etc/shells and the file wasn't there there's no place to access. Certainly /private/etc was there so that would have worked.
So what will happen by inputting the lines
ls -Fvl /bin/bash
ls -Fvl /etc/shells
more /etc/shells
into Terminal?
Basically to find out what you already seemed to find out. The first command was to display owner, group, and permissions of /bin/bash and to tell me whether it still existed.
Similarly for /etc/shells.
And the last command would have just displayed what was in /etc/shells.
By the way /private/etc and /etc are the same folder.

It can't be done. iPads use iOS as the operating system. Macs use OS X as the operating system. iOS apps don't run on Macs and OS X apps don't run on iPads.
That's why if there is an app that has been developed for both platforms, you have to buy them separately; iOS apps from the iTunes App Store and Mac apps from the Mac App Store.

Hi! I've programmed for years JSP, Servlets and Applets, but never a desktop application, so... my problem is that I don't have any idea on how to run it. I mean, of course I know how to run some application in my own desktop (java applicationname) but my doubt is, what I need to install in the client desktop or how must I do my package in order to run without the need for installing the SDK. Because, as I known, the "java.exe" comes with SDK, and of course, I don't think that I need to install de entire SDK in all my clients desktops in order to run my application.

You should give them the Java Runtime Environment. You will find a java.exe there too. E.g.
C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.5.0_02
The principle problems you will have to consider are:
1.) How easy, and often, will you have to update your program? You might need to consider something like Java Webstart, for example.
2.) What are the security considerations? If you need access to a database you will have difficulty keeping passwords secure. You may want to obfiscate code, for example.
3.) If the applications are communicating with a central resource how will you deal with simultaneous usage. Coming from a web application background this is nothing new to you I guess but you may want to consider a J2EE application server, for example.
4.) You need to consider whether you stick with what you know and develop an intranet approach to internal applications.

In my module I have to run two queries and I don't want to make two methods for running two different queries.

Premiere Elements 9.0/9.0.1 and Premiere Elements 13 are standalone products.
So, you can have both on the same computer, but only open one for your work.
The classical recommendation is to finish a project in the version in which it was created since there
is no guarantee that a project from an earlier version will open in the later version. Probably will, but
no guarantees. And, when you do explore this, do it from a copy of the earlier version project. Once you
take the earlier version project into a later version one, you cannot go back to edit the later version edited
project in the earlier version program.
If you have both versions (9 and 13) on the same computer and you have not moved, deleted, renamed any of the version 9's files/folders,
right click the saved closed Premiere Elements 9.0/9.0.1 project file, select Open With, and then Adobe Premiere Elements 13.
(Your 9.0/9.0.1 saved closed project file should be found in Libraries/Documents/Adobe/Premiere Elements/9.0.)

How to create a validation for the project coding mask

Would just like to ask how to create a validation for the project coding mask wherein the WBS elements hierarchy will be checked against the template saved. For example,
project coding mask is XXXX-XXXXX-XX-X-X-X-00-X
mother WBS should be XXXX-XXXXX-X and lower level WBS would be XXXX-XXXXX-XX.
The validation should not allow a mother WBS to be XXXX-XXXXX-XX.
How can we go about this?

You can use validation with the combination of the level and the coding mask.
In the validation:
Pre requisite: WBS level = 1
Validation: Prps-posid = prps-posid :1-12:
Message : Error
If required you can give the parameters for your detail error message.
