How to search folders automatically?

Hi ,
I m beginner of Java , Request you to please provide the solution for this.
Given a file path (directory), how can I write Java code to search the path automatically?
For example, on my computer there is a dirctory "C:\files\names\". In the "names" folder there are subfolders such as "subNamesA", "subNamesB" and "subNamesC". In these subfolders there are documents with suffix of ".txt" that I want to process. Given the directory "C:\files", my code should aumatically check all folders and sub-folders to find these documents.
It does not matter if it is a deepth-first search or a breadth-first search as long as your code can search the folders automatically. It does not matter if the search is recursion or iteration either.
It's better if you can provide me with several lines of code so that I can know where to start.
Thanks in advance.
Regards
Sumit

Start reading the api for the File class:
http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.5.0/docs/api/java/io/File.html
Specifically the listFiles(), isFile(), isDirectory(), and getName() methods. After that, you should have an idea of how to walk through the tree looking for the filename you want.

  • Do search folders automatically include new system archive folders

Do search folders automatically include new system archive folders as they are created each year.
I decided to create filters and use these to keep track of various types of email, eg wife, mistress1, Mistress2 etc, friends, stamp collecting society, train spotting, bank etc
I can then just archive them all and see them in search folders.
Looks like I will have to go through each property to choose folders each year.
I need to know is this the case before I create 50 odd search folders for mistresses plus the others? :)

    Hi Matt
Thanks for the reply but I'm not sure it answers the point I wanted to clarify
I can see your option creates a substructure in line with the original source email but does it also update a "saved search" folder criteria that this folder should be searched.
I am just working from my inbox and previously I would move emails to subfolders (basic filing) but this is a bit tedious dragging or selecting to the right destination. I just want to hit delete or archive then allow the "saved search" folder to work its magic with a filter.
Including a folder does not automatically cause sub folders to be searched so it seemed unlikely that come next year when a 2016 folder is created that the "saved search" folder will see the new folder.
My option still seems best for what I want even if I have to update 20 or so searches each January.
If any developers are watching the option to "include subfolders" in the criteria would get round the problem.

  • How to Search Email in Multiple Folders at Once?

    Hi,
I know how to search email in one folder, but how to search email in multiple folders at once? The only way I can think of is to go to each folder and issue a search on each folder. But if there are 10 folders, I will have to run search function 10 times. I tried to just use the folder I got from getDefaultFolder ( ) to do the search and think that it maybe the root of all folders, but it doesn't work. I have to getFolder (each_folder) and search 10 times. Does anyone know how?
    Thanks.

I just want to do a global search in all folders in the most efficient manner.Iterating or recursing over the folders is not "inefficient". It's the only way to search them all. And if the API provided a method to do that "all at once," that method would still have to be iterating or recursing anyway. It doesn't matter if it's your method or theirs that makes the multiple calls.
There is a major difference between issuing one search command as a global search and 10 search commands to all 10 folders because of all these round trip traffics. And you know this because you've profiled and measured? Or you're just assuming.
Now, if you're talking about the overhead of establishing 10 network connections vs. 1, then, yes, potentially it could make a difference. But that will most likely be dwarfed by the act of searching anyway.
When there's an obvious solution in front of you, don't just go assuming it's "inefficient."

  • How to use Search Folders in Outlook for shared mailboxes

    Hello
We use Otlook 2010/2013 with MS Exchange 2010. In outlook there is "Serarch folder" with subfolders Large e-mail, Unreaded mails.... User can create own subfolders with rules.
Users have attahet to outlook shared mailboxex for example Import, Export....
For these mailboxes you cannot use "Search Folders" - outlook can use it only for your personal mailbox.
To use "Serach folders" for shared mailbox I have to create new e-mail profile in Windows. User has to run outlook using these new profile "import". Now he is directly connected with shared mailbox.
But users want to use "Search folders" when they are on own outlook profile with shared mailboxes attahecd to their profiles.
Is it posible to do it? Or use some third-party
    product?
    Thank you for help

Is there a way to have bookmark folders automatically collapsed in Safari when adding bookmarks?  This would be a huge convenience in navigating to the right folder w/o having to deal with an eye chart of a folder tree.

    Myself as well...
I think it is a tremendous problem. Im my case it is extremelly important to manage, organize and sort favorites.
I am new to Mac and safari... and I spent a lot of time researching a solution for that thinking it was me that couldnt find this option. I like to use safari because of the "gestures". This is great. But when it comes to favorites, safari is a nightmare!!!
Also, I use to like the option in Firefox that we can have the leftside bar with the favorites and navigate to the links in the right. In safari the links are open in the full page. And then we need to come back to the favorite everytime.
I would be glad if someone could come out with good solution or suggestions how to deal with it in fafari.

  • How do I disable automatic hot pixel correction in ACR?

OK - I'm really conused here...
I just got a Nikon D800E and on my first day of shooting I noticed a hot pixel spot in my images in Bridge.  The when I opened the files in ACR, the hot pixel spot was gone.  Apparently this is a "feature" of ACR: it automatically replaces hot pixels with RGB values from neighbring pixels.  (So those of you who think you have no hot pixels, think again  - you might be shielded from the truth!  I find this fact very disconcerting, but that's a separate issue...).
The problem is that I can't tell how many hot pixels there are.  Based on the image in Bridge, it would have to be spot of 20 - 30 pixels (maybe even more).  That's unacceptable to me, especially on a $3300 camera.  Sure, maybe a few hot pixels spread around the image, but 20-30 bunched in that one spot, that's unacceptable.
However, I can't figure out how to disable the automatic hot pixel correction in ACR, so I don't know if the issue really is 20 - 30 hot pixels or if Bridge is just doing some type of sub-sampling that makes the problem look a lot worse than it is.  Furthermore, this concerns me greatly because I've been using a D200 for many years and have never seen a single hot pixel issue.  So that says to me that the sensor on my D800E has a bigger hot pixel issue than it should (I realize all sensors have some hot/dead pixels).
So, any help on how to go about figuring this out?  The simplest solution is to disable the automatic hot pixel correction in ACR, but I can't figure out how to do that.  I'm guessing it's not possible.
    Thanks,
    rgames

Sorry, I' wouldn't presume to embark on a Google search for you, as I'm sure you can do that yourself, MikeKPhoto..
What I can tell you, without a question, is that it was discussed at length in these forums during the earliest versions of ACR eight or nine years ago or so, and I remember participating in a discussion of the feature myself with other Pentax users in the Pentax SLR Talk forum on DPReview around 2003 or 2004.
I found one such message from 2006 (see below) but I'm sure I was involved in earlier discussions a few years earlier:

Interesting. It's possible that my camera does have a few bad pixels, but I'd never see them because I shoot RAW exclusively and Adobe Camera Raw maps them out on the fly.
One of these days, when I'm feeling masochistic, I guess, I'll try the Pentax software to convert a test image. Or maybe not.

  • No default search folders in Outlook 2010

    Hi there,
I joined a new company and we use Exchange 2010 SP3 UR6 with Outlook 2010. All users are using Online-Mode, nothing cached. Nobody has the default search folders. I ran outlook with /cleanfinders /resetfolders, nothing.
It's not vital of course, but I'm still wondering how that can be. New and old mailboxes only have the "root" Search Folder. Left click on it does nothing (is this normal? From my memory I don't think so), right click offers to create a new one...
    Cheers

    Hi,
Your administrator can specify whether to create the standard default Search Folders when Outlook starts for the first time by using group policy. See:
Please contact your administrator and confirm if he has applied the policy. For your reference:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc179004(v=office.12).aspx
Note: This article is for Outlook 2007, it also applies to Outlook 2010.
-> Left click on it does nothing (is this normal? From my memory I don't think so), right click offers to create a new one...
This is the default behavior, we need to use right click > New Search Folder to create new search folders.
    Hope this helps.

  • What exactly is the bookmarks menu? And how to search bookmarks?

OK, I've selected Show All Bookmarks from the bookmarks menu, getting to the page with the sidebar shown below. If I click on the Bookmarks Bar icon that looks like an open book, the items there exactly match those on my actual bookmarks bar along the top of every Safai window. But if I click on the blue folder labeled BookmarksBar, some, but not all, of the items on my actual bar are there.
The same is true for the Bookmarks Menu icon vs. the blue folder of the same name. In addition, I don't really know what the bookmarks menu is. What is it good for? Where do its items show up? And how did I even get anything in there at the first place?
Finally, I would like to know how to search only my bookmarks. By this I mean only those links that are in the many blue folders (not shown) below the BOOKMARKS heading in the screenshot. If I type a search term into the black search box that appears elsewhere on this page, two choices appear in the upper left corner: All and Bookmarks Menu. As far as I can tell, All searches my history as well as my bookmarks, while Bookmarks Menu searches only the Bookmarks Menu folder (the one with the icon, not the blue folder one—remeber, their contents are different, at least for me). How can I search only my regular bookmarks in all the blue folders?

In SAP BW, data from various databases from systems available in the company are collected, consolidated, managed and prepared for evaluation purposes. There is often further, valuable potential in this data.
It deals with completely new information that is displayed in the form of meaningful connectivity between data but that is too well hidden or complex to be discovered by simple observation or intuition.
The Analysis Process Designer (APD) makes it possible to find and identify these hidden or complex relationships between data in a simple way. Various data transformations are provided for this purpose, such as statistical and mathematical calculations, and data cleansing or structuring processes.
The analysis results are saved in BW data targets or in a CRM system. They are available for all decision and application processes and thus can be decisive (strategically, tactically, operatively).

At least make sure that you have a default method 'browse' in your class. I mean that make a method for "displaying" or "browsing" or whatever you want to happen when you click the object, and make it default. OR actually if I remember correctly there is a default method existing already, but put your code to there.
    Also try this:
-Create a container element of type 'sales order' into your task
-Bind the sales order object from workflow to the the task

  • Maximum number of restricted search folders in later versions of Exchange?

    Hi,
    This article:

    ...states that:
"In Exchange 2000 Server, Exchange Server 2003, and Exchange Server 2007, there are a maximum number of restricted search folders that are allowed on a per-folder basis. The default maximum number is 11, and the default lifetime for the search folder

    1) Does this apply to later versions of Exchange Server too?
    2) Can the default maximum be changed, to say 100? Is there a limit?

  • Search folders in shared mailboxes

Sorry to ask here, but no-one knows on the exchange online 365 forum.
How to make a search folder for a shared mailbox? Don't mind if I make in outlook client or exchange online.
I don't mind if its visible in OWA (although that would be nice) as long as its visible in outlook.
I was wondering about making the mailbox the default mailbox for a user, opening the account as exchange account in outlook and seeing if I could make a search folder that way. Would that work?

    Hi,
If you want to create a search folder for a shared mailbox, we can try the following steps(Supposing UserA has full access permission for the shared mailbox):
Step 1. Create a new Outlook profile for shared mailbox and configure the shared mailbox with UserA account in Outlook 2013:
    1. Open Control Panel > Mail > Show Profiles > Add > type Share to name the profile > OK.
    2. In the Auto Account Setup window, fill in the E-mail Account name(share) and E-mail Address([email protected]). Then click Next without type Password.
    3. Click Finish to close the window.
    4. In Mail window, check Prompt for a profile to be used when starting Microsoft Outlook and click Apply > OK.
    5. Open Outlook 2013 with new created profile Share and a Windows Security window would pop-up. Please use UserA account information(User name: Domain\UserA and Password) to log into this shared mailbox.
Step2. Create Search folder for shared mailbox:
Right-click Search Folders > New Search folder to create needed folder for this mailbox. Please note that the search folder in the shared mailbox would not be visible for other profiles. It only works for the default e-mail account in an Outlook profile.
    Hope it helps.
