Either - You have to do an 'EXECUTE IMMEDIATE' over these 'alter' scripts.

I have a report requirements and need to use multiple fact tables and unconformed dimensions as described below
Fact table: F1,F2,F3
Dimensions tables: D1.....D9
F1:(joined to) D1,D2,D3,D4
F2::(joined to)D1,D2,D5,D6
F3::(joined to)D1,D2,D7,D8
D7::(joined to)D9,D8 (dimension D7 joined to two other dimensions D9 and D8
I'm trying to use columns from almost all the fact and dimension tables but getting "Unable to navigate requested expression. Please fix the metadata consistency warnings."
Repository is consistent and no errors and warnings.
How can I configure the repository to develop reports using all fact tables and dimensions?

So you want me to convert snowflake schema to star. does it solve my problem? individual star queries are working find but when I query multiple stars together getting inconsistency errors. I removed content tables dim level totals for unconformed dimensions in logical fact LTS and set level for measures at total level for unconformed dimensions. it is still in progress and need to test.

Unable to edit table data, but not for all tables

I have multiple tables in a schema. For some tables, I am able make edits to table data directly, i.e., context menu Table | Open, and the Data tab. When I am able to edit, I do get a pencil icon inside the cell I am editing/typing (and am able to commit the changes). When I am not able to edit, it does nothing (no error messages, sound, or visual cue). I thought it had to do with who owns the table object, but I log in as the same owner of the affected table objects.
Any pointers would be greatly appreciated so I am equipped when asking the DBA.

Looping delete statement where table name is coming from another table

Hi All,
We have to write code to delete records from active tables of WDSO.We have 5 DSO so inspite of writing delete statement for each table we want to put all table names into one table and then loop through it .but we are getting error when we are refering that table field which has active table name.error is :
"dictionary structure or table is either not active or does not exist "
As per my understanding in a delete /select /insert /update statement we need to put table name (whose field we are refering ) it can't be replaced by a variable .
ex: v_table = 'EMPLOYEE' .
DELETE FROMv_table WHERE EMP_NAME = 'ABDC' .
is wrong and it must be like
ex : DELETE FROM EMPLOYEE WHERE EMP_NAME = 'ABDC' .
but we want to make our code dynamic .
Can you please suggest a way so that we can read the table names from another table and delete data based on some selection fom those tables .
I tried variants ,perform etc and even searched FM for the same but not found a solution .Your help will be greatly appreciated .

However, I would not recommend this. There is a standard function module RSAN_ODS_DATA_DELETE which allows selective deletion - that should be a safer way to do this. You can

If your few of your tables have referential intigrity constraints and trying to drop master table whithout droping child table first, oracle will produce an error.
Better option would be to drop the entire schema and then create a new schema with the same name.
on sql plus.
set long size 20000
select dbms_metadata.get_ddl('USER','USERNAME') from dual;
--then save the above output to create the user later.
drop username cascade
use the above saved script to create the user again.

I want to find all table, excluding the structures, of a given domain name, say, waers.
Some of the tables are directly contains the domains while others are related with a data element which is connected to that domain.

in se11-> search for tables having names like 'DD*'.
From this list of tables you can find the required table to get domain, data element nad table name.
one way of doing it:

Question about import all tables except one

I have exported all tables for a user. While importing I want to import all tables except one table whose name I know. How do I do this? Example: If I have tables: Employee, address, salary that I have exported. While importing I want to import only Employee and address. How do I do this. The database I have exported contains over 20 tables.

I don't think it is possible at all, you just need to explicitly specify all the tables.
If you really don't want to include the single table, then you can import all the tables and drop the desired one.

I want the user to not able to delete rows from any existing or new tables that might be added in the future.
The user does not have the "DELETE ANY TABLE" system privilege.

Nowadays, I'd also avoid triggers (if possible).
Sometimes, when I daydream, I'm rewriting a few applications that I've contributed to as a newbie, and I'm very ashamed of it nowadays.
From what I've experienced, in retrospective, the emphasis on teaching 'Oracle stuff' has been lying far too much on PL/SQL row-by-row oriented processing instead of letting Oracle 'crunch' sets at once.
Most of my debugging hours ended up in discovering one or more database triggers 'doing stuff automagically'.

List All Tables in a Microsoft Access Database

I am writing in a Java code. This code analyze a Microsft Access Database file and then print a report about it.
The connectivity between Java and the Database is fine, but My problem is that I want to display ALL Table names of the Database:
For example: if the database is save in a file Data.mdb and if the database contain tables: Customer, Employee, Sales. I want a way to get those names!. I tried to excute a query "Desc Data" but it gave me SQL error sayas that you are allowed to use Select, Insert, Delete and Update keyword only.
Any HELP?
