How to see the tablespace size

hi
how to get the tablespace size??
thx

Hello,
select SUM(bytes)/1024/1024 MB from dba_data_files
where tablespace_name = 'xxxxxx';
works fine.
I am trying to build a function for that:
select SUM(bytes)/1024/1024 MB
from dba_data_files
where tablespace_name=upper('&user')
However, I need to make some enhancements:
1. how to make comments in sql files?Refer to the REM statement in the sqlplus reference manual
2. a lot of outputs are generated:
SQL> @get_size
Enter value for user: tts1
old 3: where tablespace_name=upper('&user')
new 3: where tablespace_name=upper('tts1')
MB
2048
how to avoid that so that only the size is
displayed.
for example:
SQL> @get_size
Enter value for user: tts1
MB
2048
Refer to set verify off in the sqlplus reference manual.
>
3. how to let the function accept a parameter such
as:
SQL> @get_size tts1
Refer to the define command in the sqlplus reference manual.
>
4. how to include a usage (help) to that function
such as:
SQL> @get_size
usage: get_size <tablespace name>
Many thanksRefer to the prompt statement in the sqlplus reference manual.

I like the mail feature with one exception; I cannot figure out how to change the font size of incoming mail permanently.  And, when answering an email I have to highlight the first few words and zoom it so I can see what I am writing.  what am I missing?

You can type the email using what you set in preferences and then highlight the text and use command - minus sign (or command - + for larger) to reduce the size of the text.
You can also type command - T and a window will appear allowing you to select fonts/sizes/color/ background highlight.
The above works in Notes also. I haven't tried to do this in any other Apple application.
For incoming emails, you can use the above to reduce font size, but I don't know of a way to permanently set the incoming font size to a default.

  • How can i see the total size of files which i have been selected?

But, my tumpdrive told me which was only 500MB space.
Therefore, i decided that choose some movies and photo to there.
When i chose the files i don't know how much of the total size which i've been selected.
if above 500MB, i could move.

  • How to estimate undo tablespace size in 11g?

I found someone document said, use this sql to estimate undo tablespace:
    select (UR*(UPS*DBS))+(DBS*24) as "bytes" from (select value as UR from v$parameter where name='undo_retention'),(select (sum(undoblks)/sum(((end_time-begin_time)*86400))) as UPS from v$undostat),(select value as DBS from v$parameter where name='db_block_size');
but in my 11g database, the "select value as UR from v$parameter where name='undo_retention'" is 0. so above sql is always get 196608(8192*24)
How to estimate undo tablespace size in 11g?
    Thanks very much!

for undo segments size you should turn it to be autoextend on as well undo management set to be AUTO
    i.e
    undo_managment='AUTO'
    for retention see that link
Ora-01555, snapshot too old: rollback segment number 2 with name "_SYSSMU1
BTW as hemant stated leave it to be auto which is good approach but make sure enough space on disk has been
dedicated for undo segments are allowed to grow to the size they need to be based on the requested undo_retention.

  • Hi, I am using Indesign CS6, How to set the page size in Inches.

Hi, I am using Indesign CS6, How to set the page size in Inches.

All fields in InDesign can be entered in any measurement system. So, if you want to make an 8"x10" document and go to File>New Document and the window looks like this:
…you can type either 8 in or 8" into the Width field like this:
…and when you move to the next field, it will convert the eight inches into the equivalent number in the unit of measure that it is using at the moment, like this:
… (203.2 milimeters is the same as 8 inches). You can also enter a different measurement unit into other fields once the file is created, such as the width or height of a frame, or the position of an object in the X and Y coordinates.
If you would rather just work in inches instead of having to type the inches mark or abbreviation, go to InDesign>Preferences>General and select the Units & Increments tab. There you will see Ruler Units for Horizontal and Vertical at the top of the window. Set them to Inches and all of the fields will display in inches. If you do that to an open document, you will change the unit of measure for that document. If you do it while no documents are open, it will change the unit of measure for any new documents you create. To change the unit of measure for existing documents, you will have to open each and make the change.

  • How to find the db size

    Hi ,
Please tell me how to find the db size.
    Thanks,
    Kumar.

If I understand correctly, the above query will give the space allocated to the database. This isn't necessarily the same as the space used by the database. Or do I need to clean my glasses ?
I use the following to get sizes for tablespaces (may need some formatting done - works in 9i and 10g) :
    SELECT
         Total.name "TABLESPACE_NAME",
         total_space "TABLESPACE_SIZE",
         nvl(Free_space, 0) Free_space,
         nvl(total_space-Free_space, 0) Used_space
    FROM
         select
              tablespace_name,
              sum(bytes/1024/1024) Free_Space
         from
              sys.dba_free_space
         group by
              tablespace_name
         ) Free,
         select
              b.name,
              sum(bytes/1024/1024) TOTAL_SPACE
         from
              sys.v_$datafile a,
              sys.v_$tablespace B
         where
              a.ts# = b.ts#
         group by
              b.name
         ) Total
    WHERE
         Free.Tablespace_name(+) = Total.name
    ORDER BY
         Total.name
    ;

  • How to know the database size

can one tell how to find the database size?

Depends what you mean by database size and how you want the output to look?
Are you referring to the number of rows across all tables of a schema? The number of bytes used by the rows? The number of bytes used by the tablespaces? The number of bytes used by the datafiles? etc. etc. etc. So many options.
Be more clear in your requirements please.

    Hi,
To know the size of the input message , i hope we have one option , after copying the test payload from the SXMB_MONI into Message mapping test -- click on test
after come back to design tab in message mappign
click on left side root node and Press CTRL+SHIFT + mouse right click and click on trace -- you can see the size of the message payload.
    In SXMB_MONI..
    see the payload messges

  • How to view the physical size of objects

    Hi
Please advise how to view the physical size of objects like tables, indexes, materialize views etc.
    Wishes
    Jawad

To see the physical size of objects like tables, indexes, use
    USER_SEGMENTS where SEGMENT_TYPE=table/index/partition etc.
But for views/packages/java/trigger, you can only see rough estimate in USER_OBJECT_SIZE

    Hi Bharath,
Believe me, you have an incompatibility between different build#.
PAPI has an instance cache. When certain process has more instances than the maximum specified, the cache is switch to status OPEN. That means, that PAPI will not be able to resolve some instance queries using the information in the cache. When that occurs, PAPI forward all those queries to the engine.
The incompatibility introduced is in the communication between PAPI and Engine. So, you only get the exception when you have more instances than the maximum cache size.
