How to select Specific string after a character

Hi,
while creating a user account in discription bar we have the ticket number - Name of owner = managers email id. This format is shown as ex in discription tab of user properties.
INC000233 - Alex B = [email protected]
How can i collect string after character "=" i.e
[email protected]? i tried to use the select string cmdlet but it gives the complete string.

So here it gives me error like

This behaviour raises two questions:
1) Why SELECT extract(OBJECT_VALUE,'/students/student') FROM students works but SELECT extract(OBJECT_VALUE,'/students/student[1]') FROM students does't ?
2) Is there any way how I can select specific element (element XPath /students/student[@id="some value"]) and convert it to String?

To be exact my <student> element is a bit complicated and looks like the one at the end of this post (sorry but it's in czech). And I need to select whole xml fragment (all opening and closing tags included) as it is shown. Maybe I used wrong solution and I should use CLOB storage. How to select specific rows in rtf template for complex calculation

I want custom calculation in my rtf template and for this i need to select specific cell's value OR specific row's value. Any one please suggest how can I get this. Below is the example i have plotted using excel. My target is to get field 8 and 9 using sum and minus. We can calculate column over column, is there any way to calculate row over row? If I use variables, then i have to create so many variables because I have more columns and rows to calculate (here i posted one sample table). Any one please help me how can I get expected result other than using variables! If "Using variables" is the only way then also give your valuable opinions.

Thanks for the reply, I got 0 using both codes. This is a dummy table and I plotted 3,4 to give an idea of row number (as like as excel). Rows are individual data sets combining different measures and dimensions with different values.

I now have a much better idea on what you are trying to do. If you run the IMAQ Particle Analysis Report VI on the thresholded image that contains particles, an array of clusters will be returned that will contain specific information for each particle including the area, number of holes, bounding rectangle coordinates, center of mass, orientation, and dimensions.
To find out which particle is which in the image, index the Particle Reports (Pixels) output of this VI, unbundle the cluster to extract the Bounding Rectangle cluster, and then pass it to the Rectangle input of an IMAQ Overlay Rectangle VI. This VI will overlay a bounding rectangle onto the image to show where the particle is located. You can specify which particle you want highlighted by changing the array index of the Index Array VI that is responsible for extracting a specific cluster of particle information from the Particle Reports output of the IMAQ Particle Analysis Report VI.

How to split a string with linefeed character ( LF ) as a delimiter in VB6?

Hi. I am writing a small program in VB 6.0.
I have a string named Data and it contains few characters along with <LF> in it. ( <LF> is a new line/line feed character).
I want to split this string with <LF> as delimiter and store the tokens in an array. I tried with split function and its giving me type mismatch error. Can anyone tell me how to do it?
I am giving the pseudo-code below.
Dim Data as string
Data = "hello, how are you<LS>good morning guys <LS> hi"
Dim strarray() as stringMsgbox(Data)
strarray = split(Data, "<LS>")
When i see the Data in message box before split function, it shows up in different lines like this:

I want the final array strarray to be like this: strarray(0) = "hello, how are you"
strarray(1) = "good morning guys "
strarray(2) = " hi"
The spaces can be as it is. Just i need the string to be delimited wherever <LS> is there.
Please help me as soon as possible. Though it is small one, i am stuck here.

How to select two strings and send to a serial write using case loop

I had a serial write which have to take different commands at different cases. The same serial read should read both. How can I do it. Means if I have a string 500\r\nZ. I one case it should be -500\r\n Zand other case +500\r\n Z. But boyh of these cases have to be read with one serail write . How can I do iit . Please help

You can't gaurantee that both conditions won't hit at the same time. You will need to send a separate command for each condition.
Plus, using EQUALS on floating points is dangerous. You might never get the condition because a really low bit could be off.

Select specific row after a refresh

I can not find this in the documentation. I have a table
which list all my records from an XML. I then have a detail region
that allows me to update the data in the CURRENT record. Upon
submitting the updated data to the server, I need the record list
refreshed, not a problem, and then the row previously selected to
be selected again as current row. I have a Unique ID that my
database assigns the records, but that will be different than what
SPRY assigns. What is my best solution? I hope I have not
miscommunicated this.

This sounds like something that should be added to the data
set api to help folks out. I've jotted it down. Until then, you can
use something like this:

While selecting for payment it takes Lot 1 for first account it is working fine, if we select lot 2 or 3 we get following error message

with below function I can only get rid of ^ , I want both the specific characters ^ and ^* to be removed at the same time.

Regular Expression - Select two words after specific string

I am trying to select the two words/strings after the first word "door". I am using the search pattern (?<=door).\w+ but in this case I get the complete text after the word "door". I only want to select the two words after the first "door" in the complete text.
Can anybody help me?

Hi Marco,
I'm relatively handy with RegEx but this seems like a problem where I would employ a little bit of RegEx and CTL, just to make life easier.
You can use the following RegEx (note: I didn't test this in Integrator, only in a RegEx testing tool) to extract the two words after door (but including door, unfortunately):
(?:door)[\s]\w+[\s]\w+
This would give you something like the following in your extracted field:
door is brown
You could then pass through a re-formatter to remove "door" and the whitespace and be on your way. Not the best answer but should perform reasonably well and get you up and going.

When i run the query after adding this new field ANEK-BUDAT the below warning is generated by system :

How to get a function to return a value occuring after a character

I need to write a function to return the next value occurring after the ":" character in a column. If multiple values of ":" occurs then the function should return the sum of the next value occurring after each ":" in the column.
For example a rating value of 4:1 would return the value of 1. However, the rating of "5:1:1" should return a value of 1+1 = 2, and 6:2:1 will return of 2+1 = 3.
I have the below function skeletion and trying to figure out how the select statement will compute based on the position of : in the column and add the values and return the value back to function.

You don't need a cursor: there's no table involved in this function, and no point in using any table.
Here's one way:

SHOW ERRORSThis assumes the function is a stand-alone function. If it's part of a package, you don't say CREATE OR REPLACE at the beginning.
Try to make functions generic, so that if a similar (but not identical) situation comes up in 6 months from now, you can use the same function. I'm guessing that somethimes you may want to do the same thing with some character other than ':' before each number, so I added the 2nd (optional) argument p_delimiter. You can call the fucntion with either 1 or 2 arguments.
If an error occurs in a PL/SQL fucntion, an error message (showing the exact location of the error) is displayed, and execution halts. If you use an EXCEPTION sectinn, you lose all that functionality, or have to code it yourself. Only use an EXCEPTION handler when you really have to.
For this function, you may or may not want to. For example, if the character right after a delimiter is not a digit, the call to TO_NUMBER in function will raise "ORA-01722: invalid number". You may want to catch that error in an exception handler, and return 0 or NULL. On the other hand, you may want to test that the character after the delimiter is a digit before calling TO_NUMBER, and not have an EXCEPTION section.
What else could go wrong? Try to think of potential problems and fix them when you first write the function. If you discover an error next year, you'll have to spend a fair amount of time finding the function, and getting acquainted with it again.
What should the function return if p_internalrating is NULL, or doesn't contain any delimiters?
What if there's a number longer than 1 digit after a delimiter, e.g. '6:78:9'?

How to get String after Certain Number of particular characters

I want to get character after certain numbers's of particular character.
For example following is String
String testString = "||A|||B||D|R|T|||TEST|||||"
I want to get "TEST" which is after 12 "|"
How can I manupulate String to give me characters after 12 "|"
I will appreciate any help.

Loop over the string, looking at each char with charAt(itn index).
Compare each char to '|'.
If it matches, increment the counter.
If the counter is 12, then take the substring from your current position in the string to the end.
