How to Set arguments to PL-SQL Procedure schedule to run from OEM.

Hi All,
OEM Config Details is as follows
Oracle (R) Enterprise Manager Ver 9.2.0.1.0
I created a job which is scheduled to run a PL-SQL Procedure. The procedure should accept two arguments as follows.
BEGIN
FLSTG.PROC_DELETE_DATA (ARG1,ARG2);
END;
Arg1 is of type Varchar2 & Arg2 is of type Date
How should i set arguments for the procedure?
Can someone please help me?
Thanks in Advance.
Regards,
Vidyanand

The only problem is when writing an ODI procedure using the Oracle Technology in ODI Designer, ODI asks for the Schema.
If I do not assign a value to the schema field when I run my ODI procedure I get the error message :

  • How to secure a PL/SQL procedure that is called from the web browser

If you have ever seen the sample document management application, and tried to download a file that was stored in the system, you are probably familiar with the apex_util.count_click URL that is used to download the file. If you copy that URL and paste it into a new browser, you will not be prompted to login to download the requested file. I'm using SSO with Apex as a partner application. How can I secure a pl/sql procedure like this to redirect to the login page before beginning the download?
    Thanks,
    Kris

You can use the second method described here:
    http://apex.oracle.com/pls/otn/f?p=31517:15
You would use an application process instead of pasting the procedure call in the browser. In the case I describe, you don't need to grant execute to public on the download procedure.

Good afternoon. How do I get to see the procedures that are running?
    Thanks.

I agree with Billy: never use undocumented procedures, they can change anytime.
The link you were referring to is probably this one: http://asktom.oracle.com/pls/asktom/f?p=100:11:0::::P11_QUESTION_ID:767025833873 and the post was not from Tom Kyte but from a reviewer.
    The comment from Tom was:
sorry -- x$ tables are magical and I give no help in that area at all.
The same user that posted the query added in a following post:
Tom, I agree 101% - X$ are "magical", they CAN and WILL change anytime, without warning, and worse, NO READ-CONSISTENCY here - so, in a very busy db, chances are of X$ being "late", not refreshed, or alike.

  • How to convert my query to SQL Procedure

I am running an SQL Query in my page process to set few items on my page.

  • How can I hide the main front panel when I run from the executable?

Hopefully this is an easy question. I have an application where the front panel is not the main GUI and I would like to hide it when the program runs, but only when it runs from the executable. How can I do this?

    NIquist wrote:
Yeah, don't do that. Executables built in LV require at least one front panel to be open. If it isn't, the run-time engine automatically closes the executable. I haven't checked recently, but I assume this is still the case.
Instead, you can set the FP state to minimized (as suggested earlier) or (better) to hidden.
P.S. one side point - the property and invoke nodes have a shortcut - if you use the Application or VI classes and don't connect a reference, they default to the current app or VI. That means you don't have to open the reference.

  • How to set database location for stored procedure

    Post Author: Pavel
CA Forum: Data Connectivity and SQL
I've already found out that setting location is not only my problem, but I can't understand the correct decision. We using CR to create reports, accessing the data in MSSQL by ODBC.
Previously (up to version 8) I set location directly, editing the "Table" field in "Set Location" form. Command after report creation was:
    Proc(DBNAME.dbo.PROCEDURE_NAME;1)
I erased "DBNAME.dbo.", so the correct command was
    Proc(PROCEDURE_NAME;1)
After that, the report can run on any database name, any ODBC datasource with any owner name of procedure.
Now we had to upgdate to CR 11 Developer Edition.
Here I can't erase database location. But when I change database location to ODBC datasource for another database, the properties of stored procedure "Catalog" and "Owner" remain the same as they initiated when report was created! So, when report runs, it call
    exec OLD_DB_NAME.dbo.PROCEURE_NAME;1 ....
So, the report doesn't work on customer database, because it has different name.
How can I erase any database location in the report? We run reports using API from Gupta Team Developer applications, may be it is possible to set database location by API before running report?
Plese help, any tips are usefull.

    Post Author: Pavel
CA Forum: Data Connectivity and SQL
When I set location to another database (i.e. another ODBC datasource) by clicking Update button, "Catalog" property is not changing! It remains unaltered. I had to remove procedure from report and then add procedure from another database, so there was a lot of formatting fileds after that.
This is not a right decision. I didn't solved current problem, I only temporary patched it.
The correct desision is to set location programmatically from application. But function PEGetNthTableLocation returns empty strings in CR11, or I incorectly declared this function (from CR8.5):
    BOOL CRPE_API PEGetNthTableLocation ( short printJob,  //handle to print job short tableN,  //number of table struct PETableLocation FAR *location     //structure pointer);typedef struct PETableLocation {    WORD StructSize;    char Location [PE_TABLE_LOCATION_LEN]; //256    char SubLocation[PE_TABLE_LOCATION_LEN]; //256    char ConnectBuffer[PE_CONNECTION_BUFFER_LEN]; //512} PETableLocation;

  • How to set default directory for SQL LOADER

    hi all,

    Ella,
You don't say which version of SQL Developer you are using via Citrix, but just setting the SQLDEVELOPER_USER_DIR hasn't worked for a long time (see Re: SQLDEVELOPER_USER_DIR does not function anymore). Also, since version 1.5, the default for the user directory (now set via ide.user.dir as shown below) is under the user profile area (relative to %APPDATA%), which you should be able to write to, even on Citrix.
Assuming that neither of those help, you will need to get whoever installed SQL Developer on the Citrix C: drive to modify the sqldeveloper.conf to have a line like, where the path exists for everyone who will be using the shared SQL Developer (assumes everyone has a H: drive):
AddVMOption -Dide.user.dir=H:\sqldeveloperAn alternative (depending on how you start SQL Developer via Citrix), is to create your own shortcut to start SQL Developer with something like:

  • How to set nondefault directory for SQL Developer on Citrix (terminal)

    Hi
My purpose is that , when I click"open" button on SQL Developer I hope it prompts out a defined diretory rather than the default one.The problem here is I'm using Citrix paltform in the terminal end and hence I don't authorization to do any modification on the C:\ drive (server end)
I got this guide lines from the tutorial but I can reset the rying directory by either way.
To specify a nondefault SQLDEVELOPER_USER_DIR location, do either of the
    following:
    ■ Set the SQLDEVELOPER_USER_DIR environment variable to specify another
    directory path.
    ■ Edit the <sqldeveloper_
    install>\sqldeveloper\sqldeveloper\bin\sqldeveloper.conf file
and substitute the desired directory path for SQLDEVELOPER_USER_DIR in the
    following line:
    SetUserHomeVariable SQLDEVELOPER_USER_DIR
1.After I execute below command on cmd, the variavle has been set but still it navigates to the default directory:
    set SQLDEVELOPER_USER_DIR=U:\sql
2.I want to modify the "sqldeveloper.conf " file but since it is located in C: drive I don't have right to modify it.(I'm using terminal as stated above)
Could anyone help me out ??

  • How to set naming standards for SQL Developer

I am using SQL Developer version 3.0.04.
In the newly integrated and very useful Data Modeler, we can set preferences for the naming standards to be applied when creating logical and relational model objects ( primary keys, foreign keys, et cetera). I would like to know if there is a way to set naming standards for the relational objects we create in SQL Developer on existing tables ( ( primary keys, foreign keys, et cetera).
Any help in setting such preferences would be appreciated.

    Hi,
If you want to set up a diagram for an existing database, you can use File/Data Modeler/Import/Data Dictionary to import its definitions.
Alternatively you can open a Data Modeler Browser (using View/Data Modeler/Browser), expand the node for Design "Untitled_1",
expand the node for Relational Models, and select Show from the Right-click drop-down menu for "Relational_1" to create a Relational Model diagram.
You can then drag Tables from SQL Developer's Connections tree onto the diagram.
Once you have a Relational Model you can reverse engineer it to an Entity-Relationship model using the << button in the button bar
(or by selecting "Engineer to Logical Model" from the drop-down menu for the Relational Model).
Note that there is now a separate forum for SQL Developer Data Modeler topics: SQL Developer Data Modeler

  • How to set ORACLE_HOME used by SQL Developer?

I need to use OCI/Thick driver with SQL Developer to get OS authentication working. I have 64-bit windows and 64-bit oracle installed. I also have 32-bit instant client in another ORACLE_HOME, because the libs of 64-bit ORACLE_HOME won't work with SQL Developer. Quite trivial setup if the SQL Developer would just take the hint an start using the right ORACLE_HOME. I have tried making a start.bat containing following...
    set ORACLE_HOME=C:\oracle\product\11.1.0\instantclient_11_1
    start sqldeveloper.exe
..but it doesn't have any effect. I can't change ORACLE_HOME in registry, because it would mess up other services requiring 64-bit oracle.

It might be a little late for the original post, but maybe someone else will need it:
I found that the way to solve such issue is by specifying the TNSNAMES of the wanted oracle_home. That'll do it.
It could be done in Tools -> Preferences -> Database -> Advanced -> Tnsnames directory.

  • SQL Procedure working when run manually, not running from sql server agent

I have a procedure that runs fine using the execute command in SSMS, however putting the same command in a job gives the following error.
line 9, character 9, unexpected end of input
The code takes a very long XML string in UTF-8 encoding and puts it into a single nvarchar(max) cell. Then puts this string into a XML cell in a different table, allowing me to query the individual parts of the XML code using the nodes function. I cannot put
the data directly into a nvarchar cell due to encoding differences.
I can't reproduce the string here as it is very very long.
I'm just looking for ideas really as to where it might be going wrong.
Here is what I know so far:
The procedure runs without issue when executed manually
I have checked permission issues, and that doesn't seem to be the problem. The agent runs under my own account and I am a sysadmin on the database
I split the procedure into seperate parts to locate exactly where the problem is occuring. Once again the seperate procedures run fine when executed manually but an error occurs when run through SQL Server agent.
When the query is run seperately through SQL Server Agent it gives a slightly different error. This leads me to believe it is an encoding issue. However I am getting the XML from a webpage and I can't change the encoding on the webpage.
line 1, character 38, unable to switch the encoding
I know this is a long shot since you can't replicate the issue but if anyone could give an idea as to where to start looking for an answer, it would be greatly appreciated.

Here's how I'm taking the XML data and putting it into an nvarchar(max) column (Column Name TEXT):
    Select @url = 'http://....'
    EXEC @hr=sp_OACreate 'WinHttp.WinHttpRequest.5.1',@win OUT
    IF @hr <> 0 EXEC sp_OAGetErrorInfo @win
    EXEC @hr=sp_OAMethod @win, 'Open',NULL,'GET',@url,'false'
    IF @hr <> 0 EXEC sp_OAGetErrorInfo @win
    EXEC @hr=sp_OAMethod @win,'Send'
    IF @hr <> 0 EXEC sp_OAGetErrorInfo @win
    INSERT #TextData(TEXT)
    EXEC @hr=sp_OAGetProperty @win,'ResponseText'
    IF @hr <> 0 EXEC sp_OAGetErrorInfo @win
