  • How to set Date format and how to edit

    Hi all,
    I am supposed to select a date from calendar and put the date in a textfield in the format dd/mm/yyyy.
    Getting date from the calendar and putting it in textfield is not a big problem.
    Here I have to edit the date in the text field in such a way that clicking with a mouse on "dd" in the textfield dd part of the textfield should get selected and I should be able to edit date without affecting any other part in the textfield.Similarly clicking on the "mm" of text field,the mm part should get selected and i should be able to edit month without affecting other parts of the textfield and similarly the year field also.Here I should not be able to edit the "/" which is in between dd and mm, mm and yyyy.Is there any date format which i can set to textfield to achieve this.
    pls help me.
    this is urgent
    Thanx

    Can any one tell me how to make part of contents of textbox non editable and rest of the text editable???

  • How to set date format dd.MM.yy for chart time axis

    Is it possible to set default date format dd.MM.yy instead of MM/dd/yy in Flex charts without using label function ?
    In this case we do not know beforehand the length of the time span; it can be minutes, days or weeks.
    Setting locales in compiler options or locale settings for application seems not having any effect.

    For example
    - mx:Barchar
    - if time span is 4 minutes; time axis format is HH:mm and shows 10:00, 10:01, 10:02, 10:03 ; *this correct*
    - if time span is 5 days; time labels are automatically in MM/dd/yy format; question is how to change this automation
    to format dd.MM.yy
    - how to do this *without* dateformatter and *without* coding "if time span is is longer than day nyt less than week then use dd.MM.yy format" ?

    In OBPM the date picker will come by default like mm/dd/yyyy. But my requiremet is i want to change to the formate dd/mm/yyyy. pls help me if any one knows this.
    Regards
    Jaya

    In generated presentation datepicker is formating the date by java script dependend on users locale.
    To format these dates to dd/mm/yyyy just add a new language en-GB.
    1. Decompress the file "C:\Oracle\BPMStudio1032\webapps\workspace\WEB-INF\lib\fuego.resources_en_6.5.0.jar" somewhere.
    2. Edit the file: plugin.xml and add GB in country:
    <locale availableOnIDE="true" className="fuego.resources.EmptyLocaleSupport" language="en" country="GB" variant=""/>
    3. Edit the file Manifest.MF and enter your locale
    Bundle-Name: Oracle BPM Resources en-GB Plug-in
    Bundle-SymbolicName: fuego.resources.runtime.en_GB; singleton:=true
    3. Compress (or use jar) the extracted folders & files into a jar named:fuego.resources_en_GB_6.5.0.jar (make sure you keep the same folder structure as in the original jar).
    4. Copy the jar to all required directories (for a list see http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E13154_01/bpm/docs65/pdf/OracleBPM-AdminGuide_10.3.pdf section 'Adding a New Language to WorkSpace').
    5. Restart Workspace.
    In Workspace chance users language (settings) to English - United Kingdom.

    first off, you've got to_date(to_date(...)) - NEVER do this - you're forcing an implicit to_char which can cause all sorts of problems!
    What is the data type of your column val_5? If it's DATE then your query is simply:
    select UPPER(t.val_10) "TYPE",
           count(val_3) "Number of Transfers"
    from   table1 t
    where  t.is_active = 1
    and    t.val_4 = 'INBOUND'
    and    val_5 between to_date('01/08/2008','DD/MM/YYYY') and add_months(to_date('01/08/2008','DD/MM/YYYY') ,1)
    group by UPPER(t.val_10)
    order by UPPER(t.val_10)If it's a varchar2 (why, oh why, oh why, ...?!), then your query should be:
    select UPPER(t.val_10) "TYPE",
           count(val_3) "Number of Transfers"
    from   table1 t
    where  t.is_active = 1
    and    t.val_4 = 'INBOUND'
    and    to_date(val_5, 'mm/dd/yyyy hh:mi:ss AM') between to_date('01/08/2008','DD/MM/YYYY') and add_months(to_date('01/08/2008','DD/MM/YYYY') ,1)
    group by UPPER(t.val_10)
    order by UPPER(t.val_10)Remember that dates in DATE format are stored in an internal Oracle format - in order for you to tell Oracle that your string is a date, you need to use to_date. When you want to retrieve a date, you need to use to_char to put it into the format you want to see it in.
    Remember also that your nls_date_format defines the default format that you'll see a date, which is what is used in the implicit conversion that oracle does when you select a date:
    SQL> alter session set nls_date_format='dd/mm/yyyy hh24:mi:ss';
    Session altered.
    SQL> select sysdate from dual;
    SYSDATE
    26/03/2009 11:01:53
    1 row selected.
    SQL> alter session set nls_date_format='mm/dd/yy hh12:mi:ss AM';
    Session altered.
    SQL> select sysdate from dual;
    SYSDATE
    03/26/09 11:02:24 AM
    1 row selected.It doesn't make sense to convert something that's already in a DATE format into a DATE format - in order to do that, oracle has to first change the date into a string, and it does that by using the nls_date_format parameter setting - if you're working with dates-in-strings that are in a different format, then all sorts of problems arise, as you have found out!

    Hi,
    In Prompt:
    Try using EVALUATE function.
    Eg: Evaluate('TO_CHAR(%1,%2)' as character(30),"D5.Times"."Day Date",'DD-MON-YYYY')
    Report level:
    Try this in the column formula-
    Evaluate('TO_CHAR(%1,%2)' as character(30),"D5.Times"."Day Date",'MM/DD/YYYY')
    (or)
    EVALUATE('TO_CHAR(%1,%2)' AS CHARACTER ( 30 ), "Dim- Date".Start Date, 'MON-YY')

  • Problem with  date format "dd-MM-yyyy"

    hi all,
    i am using jdev 10.1.3.2
    My application ADF Swing app.
    in my database i have a table employee which contains "birthday".
    my problem is that i must use date format"dd-MM-yyyy".
    i added this format into "formatinfo.xml" file.
    than i choose it in my EO.
    i create a form which contains employees.
    for example i have an employee with a birthday=25-10-1970
    in my text field if user puts "1970-10-25"'which is not the best format) he will have a correct result "25-10-1970"
    but if user puts "25-10-1970" he will have as result "21-02-0031" which is not the real value.
    please help me.
    thanks.
    PS: i did some research before posting but i didn't find yet

    Rouz,
    Did you try what i said before?
    * Open you EntityObject
    * Expand the attribute tree
    * Choose your DOB attribute
    * Choose the Control hints pane on the right
    * Choose Formater: Simple date format
    * Choose Format mask dd-MM-yyyy
    Run your application and try it.
    This is how i change the format and it works perfectly.
    I uses the correct format to show the date and it enables me to edit the date using the format mask dd-MM-yyyy
    Edit: I just tried it myself. I can only reproduce it by removing my mask. Ergo, the application expects the default american format yyyy-MM-dd. By entering a date in the format dd-MM-yyyy the framework will convert it to yyyy-MM-dd and you'll end up with 0031-02-21.
    CONCLUSION follow the steps i discribed above to set your mask and you'll be fine.

  • How to write date format in bdc

    how to write date format in bdc report

    Hi,
         First you have a data decleration i.e data l_format(10) type c.
    now if a variable say l_date which is of sy-datum type, you will have to  <b>write l_date to l_format</b>, this will transfer the date in which you(user) have set the date format in user settings. Never hard code the format such as dd.mm.yyyy. or mm/dd/yyyy because the may have different formats, and the BDC will fails. After you have used write to to new l_format, pass this new value to BDC recording.
    Reward if useful.

    and restart the DB.
