Hi,
My doubt is compulsory we give the view instance for flex field,
and also give the view instance for advanced table.
when i created the flex field in advanced table,it didn't ask the view instance.
the advanced table and flex field view instance are different
at that how can i create the flex field in advanced table.

Hi Bharat,
No need for Programatic way as Advanced Table already provides this facility.
The following steps describe how to enable Totaling for a column in the footer of an advanced table.
Step 1: In the Structure pane of OA Extension, select the column container for which you want to enable Totaling Any column except for the first column can be totaled. Set the Total Value property for this column container to True.
Step 2: In the Structure pane, select your advancedTable region and choose New > footer from the context menu. OA Extension creates an advancedTables Components folder containing a footer named child, that contains a tablefooter container (labeled tableFooter1).
Step 3: Select the tableFooter container and choose New > total from the context menu. OA Extension creates a tableFooter Components folder containing a total named child, that contains a new totalRow item as shown in the figure below.
Please let me know if you are still unable to get the Total Column

How to populate the organization_code column in ST table for legacy system

Hi, dear all,
Now I use the stage table to load the setup&transaction collection data from a non-EBS legacy system to ASCP system.
My question is: how to populate the organization_code column in the stage table？If the source system is EBS system, maybe it's an inventory organization code. But for the non-EBS system, which value is need fo this field? keep it as blank? or assign some value for it?

I find some words in the implementation guide, it says:"To collect data from your non-Oracle ERP systems or your trading partners' systems,you model each non-Oracle ERP system or trading partner as an Oracle Applications organization and store their setup and transaction data there".
But I can't find where to model the application organization for the legacy system.

How to identify the source column and source table for a measure

Does anyone have a query that I can use to positively identify the source column and source table for a cube measure in an SSAS cube? Visual Studio shows ID, Name, and Source, but it is nearly worthless in a large cube and database.
Also - the same for a dimension would be great.
If no query exists for this, can someone please explain how to find the source column/table for a measure and for a dimension?

DMVs don’t expose the DataSourceView content. AMO is much better suited for object model operations like
this than the DMVs. PowerShell is also sometimes an option, but in this case C# code would be much easier because analyzing the contents of the DataSourceView is much easier using the .Net DataSet class.

How to set the "Name" Column in EM

Are you referring to having a checkmark symbol, or an actual checkbox that the user can change its state. If it's the former, then that's done by making symbols visible and writing to the Item Symbols property. If it's the latter, then that's something you have to program yourself. You may want to take a look at this thread, which points to an example on LAVA. There is also this example. All found using a search...

How to update the COST column using another table's column

table parts: pno, pname, qoh, price, olevel
table orders: ono, cno, eno, received, shipped
table odetails: ono, pno, qty
view:orders_view: ono, cno, eno, received, shipped,sum(qty*price)order_costview:odetails_view: ono, pno, qty, (qty*price)cost
after I update the price in parts, I need to update COST and ORDER_COST too. The orders_view does not have pno, qty, and price, the odetails_view does not have price, how can I update the COST and ORDER_COST. Please help and Thanks in advance!!!

You could add the columns to the tables and then you would need a trigger to update those columns. However, you could just as easily select the price * qty to get the cost, without creating an additional column or trigger. I have no idea what you might want to do with a global temporary table. I think you need to explain what your purpose is, before any of us can suggest the best method. Since I have already demonstrated an update with a view, I will demonstrate an update with the cost column added to the odetails table and a trigger as you asked about. Notice that you will need triggers on both tables, the one that has qty and the one that has price.

How to capture the row value in Advanced Table on OAF ?

I was wondering, if anyone has any idea as to how to capture a row value on an advanced table on a OAF Page.
I am currently trying to capture the Expense Report Number ( first column) on the Track Expenses Reports table on the page /oracle/apps/ap/oie/webui/HomePG.

How to display fixed width column in Advanced Table?

Hi,
This is probably a newbie question for OAF. My requirement is quite simple but I couldn't find the answer in either the OAF developer's guide or anywhere else so I turn to the experts here. I have a region of type Table or Advanced table with three items in them. One of the Item is of type comments which could be up to 4000 characters.
I wanted to show all three on the first page but only have fixed width for the comments section like only show the first 50 characters for example and then if they want to see more detail they can click on a link to see full comments.
The problem is I cannot figure out how to make the comments item fixed width. I have played with the table width properties but it keeps displaying the comments in multiple lines (I don't want that...). I have also tried putting the Table in a Row Layout but it doesn't seem to help.
Since this is new development I can change my region style to anything to meet my requirements.
I hope this is an easy question and if someone can help me that would be great....:-)

Thanks but I was not wanting to change the VO attribute length size since I want to have a link on the first page which would enable to see a user the full 4000 comments using the same VO object. Then if I limit it to 50 characters in the VO, I will not be able to display the full comments on the second page.
Isn't there some way in the UI that I can limit it? I know one workaround I can use for now is to have another column in the VO with the 50 character value such as substr(comments, 1, 50) and then have the full comments selected also in the VO and then show this subtr value in the first page and the comments value in the 2nd. I just thought there would be an easier way about it then doing all this workaround.
Any ideas?

How to populate the master column in a table

Hi Experts,
I am trying to implement a hierarchy structure in a table. For that I have inserted a master column of TreeByNestingTableColumn type. The value which are getting displayed in a table are hard coded by me, but I am not able to understand how should I populate the values so that when the table initially appears, it should contain some data (which I hard code) and when I click the master column, it should expand and display value according the master column selected(which I again hard code).
Please help me in achieving it.

In these example only the souce of data changes as per your requriement. In the examples they are reading data from java class.
1. First you need to create a value node with (Parent Id, Boolean Type: isLeaf, Expanded, ChildernLoaded), attributes.
2. Then you have to create one recursive node under that Value node by selecting that node as reference.
3. As given in the example create one method called addChildern(Node, ParentId).
4. Now in the wdDoInit method call this method by passing the Value node and "ROOT" as parent Ids
5. In addChildern method if parentId is ''ROOT" then populate all the root elements in the parent node.
6. Now root elements will be populated.
7. When user clicks on any of the root element then invoke the action loadChildern(this should be binded to Master column) and pass recursive node of that parent element and the parenId (as given in the exmaple).
8. Based on this parentId now populate the chids in addChildern method.

Create the custom context node and attributes (for populating rfc column data). also you can create extra attribute for Serial No. when you populating data from rfc, add the number in serial no.
like:-

JTable Model -- How to set the width of columns

This project of mine is due in 2 days. :(
I am using AbstractTableModel and I can't figure out how to set the columns' width inside my JTable?
This following code does not work.

The DataModel (AbstractTableModel or otherwise) has nothing to do with the table column size. The DataModel is used to store data.
When you create a JTable using a DataModel then a TableColumn is created for each column in the DataModel using a default column size. The normal order of creation would be:
TableModel model = new DefaultTableModel(...);
JTable table = new JTable(model);
Now that the table and table columns are created you can change the size of the columns:
int vColIndex = 1;
TableColumn col = table.getColumnModel().getColumn(vColIndex);
int width=399;
col.setPreferredWidth(width);
So your code looks ok.
However, if somewhere in you code you do:
a) table.setModel(...)
b) fireTableStructureChanged();
then the table columns are recreated based on the current DataModel and the table column size would be reset to the default values.

JTable.getColumnModel().getColumn(i).setWidth(width). There are also setPreferredWidth, setMaxWidth and setMinWidth methods.
