Sometimes the serach takes a lot of time due to criteria entered.
I want to be able to display a first popup with a message "executing ..." to notify the user that the query is running
and then when wok is done show the result popup.
Any hints
Emile

Hi,
there also exists a native glasspane that you call from JavaScript
function queueEvent(event)
event.cancel(); // cancel action event
var source = event.getSource();
var params = {};
var type = "customListener";
var immediate = true;
var isPartial = true;
var customEvent = new AdfCustomEvent(source, type, params, immediate);
customEvent.preventUserInput();
customEvent.queue(isPartial);
}You reference this from a clientListener on a button for the action event

  • How to show/print waiting message when system is serving pdf to browser

    Hi,
    does anybody know how to print/show "please wait for your request to be completed..." message when they try to click GeneratePdf button for example
    they way i do serving pdf to the browser is as below
    response.reset();
    response.setContentLength(contentLength);
    response.setContentType("application/pdf");
    response.setHeader("Content-disposition", "inline; filename=\""System.currentTimeMillis()+".pdf"+ "\"");
    output = new BufferedOutputStream(response.getOutputStream());
    while (contentLength-- > 0) {
    output.write(input.read());
    output.flush();and this is what was written in my popup jsp ( when user click GeneratePdf , the application will process it and at the end serve pdf file to the user using popup window )
    <body> <h1>Please Wait for your request to be completed...........</h1> </body> </html>
    <%
    boolean redirect=false;
    try{
    PdfDispatcher.dispatchApplication(response,session);
    }catch(Throwable t){
    System.out.println("Application Dispatcher Exception ... "+t.getMessage());
    System.out.println("Continue as per normal....");
    redirect = true; // will redirect to other jsp output
    if(redirect){
    //go to other jsp
    }The problem is my message above never got printed to the page ( i guess because the browser thinks that the response has not been completed )
    by the time the response has been completed the whole page will be cover in pdf document
    The reason i want to do this because my user complaining that they see blank page for long time when the system is slow to generate/server pdf to them.
    and it would be better to show some "waiting message" when the system is processing the application and server pdf at the end of the operations.
    anybody know how to workaround this?
    Thanks

Add a <div> somewhere in the page where the message should be displayed and put the message and an animated 'loading' gif in it. Hide the <div> using the CSS 'display' property which is set to 'none'. Then add an onclick event to the button/link which downloads the PDF file which gets the <div> element by its ID and set its 'display' property to 'block'.

  • How to show javascript alert popup after commandLink action?

    Hi,
    I'm building an ADF-based .jspx page. I have a commandLink whose action calls a method in my page's backing bean. I want to show a javascript alert popup when the commandLink is clicked and after the backing bean method has been called. The text displayed in the alert popup is dependent on whether the processing in the method was successful or not.
    I couldn't figure out how this could be done though. It doesn't seem I can use the onClick attribute on the commandLink because that gets called before my backing bean method gets called. From my backing bean method, is there some way to launch a javascript alert popup and show certain text in it based on what happened in the method?
    Thanks for any ideas.

    Hello and thank you for your reply,
    I am trying to combine dwr and ADF.
    When I use the following code to grasp the input value from the user
    FacesContext fc = FacesContext.getCurrentInstance();
    ValueBinding expr = fc.getApplication().createValueBinding("#{bindings['LIMARXESPORTCODE_bindVariable2'].inputValue}");
    setLIMARXESPORTCODEbindVariable( expr.getValue(fc).toString() );
    in order to use it as a dynamic bind variable to the where clause of the following query:
    vo.setWhereClause("LIMARXESPORTCODE = :LIMARXESPORTCODE_bindVariable");
    vo.defineNamedWhereClauseParam("LIMARXESPORTCODE_bindVariable", null, null);
    vo.setNamedWhereClauseParam("LIMARXESPORTCODE_bindVariable", LIMARXESPORTCODEbindVariable );
    executeAndShowResults(vo);
    in the backing bean java code. All I get as an output from a javascript alert window is null.
    However, when the bean member variable LIMARXESPORTCODEbindVariable has a
    hard coded, static value i.e. LIMARXESPORTCODEbindVariable = 111; and the first code snippet is commented out, everything works just fine!
    Any hint is welcome,

  • How to show dynamically created popup from created command button?

    In my region I have a toolbar. The buttons in the toolbar are created dynamically in the bean. When one of the buttons is clicked I’d like to display a popup dialog.
    So, the code looks something like this:
    RichCommandToolbarButton button = new RichCommandToolbarButton();
    // set icons, text, etc….
    RichPopup popup = new RichPopup();
    // set id etc.
    RichDialog dialog = new RichDialog();
    dialog.setType(“cancel”);
    // add title, text, another button to toolbar, etc.
    popup.getChildren().add ( dialog);
    ClientListenerSet set = button.getClientListeners();
    if (set == null)
    set = new ClientListenerSet();
    button.setClientListeners(set);
    set.addFeatureDependency("AdfShowPopupBehavior");
    set.addBehavior("new AdfShowPopupBehavior('" + popup.getId() + "', AdfRichPopup.ALIGN_AFTER_END,null,'action')");
    button.setPopup(popup);
    In the corresponding .jsff the toolbar and the buttons are rendered in the following way:
    <af:toolbar id="t1" styleClass="AFStretchWidth"
    visible="#{backingBeanScope.MyBean.visible}" >
    <af:forEach items="#{backingBeanScope.MyBean.buttons}" var="adfButton" >
    <af:commandToolbarButton binding="#{adfButton}" />
    </af:forEach>
    This kind of works, except the button shows up with the down-arrow menu icon, which when clicked shows a tiny empty rectangle/menu. When the button itself is clicked, it correctly shows the popup with the dialog.
    So… how do I do this w/o doing the button.setPopup() so that I do not get the empty menu, but just get the popup to show when the button is clicked? Or is there a way to disable showing of the (empty) menu?
    I have tried adding the popup to the toolbar, but that did not work.
    I have tried adding action listener to the button, and adding the popup to the toolbar there and then showing it (by doing new RichPopup.PopupHints(); popup.show(ph)), but that did not work.
    I have tried adding action listener to the button, and adding the popup to the button getChildren().add() then showing it ((by doing new RichPopup.PopupHints(); popup.show(ph)), but that did not work.
    ANY help will be most appreciated!

  • How to show popup from backing bean code immediately?

    Hi,
    I'm using JDeveloper 11.1.2.1.0 and have problems with showing popups. I have a button with an action on my page and a method in backing bean.
    I want to rise up few popups from this method in backing bean (for example just an anouncement that something will happen) or a dialog
    (for example a question if you want to continue).
    I understand how to get a dialog response to deal with it in code, but the problem is that the popup doesn't show up immediately, but only when
    this method called on button finishes. I'd like to handle dialog responses in the middle of the action and then the code to continue with the execution.
    Here is my backing bean code:
    private RichPopup popup;
    public String test() {
    //Some code...
    RichPopup.PopupHints hints = new RichPopup.PopupHints();
    popup.show(hints);
    //Here is the place for code which I want to be executed after popup closes,
    //but is executed before the popup shows...
    return null;
    And here is part of my jssf:
    <af:commandButton text="Test" id="cb1"
    action="#{popupBean.test}"/>
    <af:popup id="popup" binding="#{popupBean.popup}">
    <af:dialog id="dialog" type="yesNo"
    title="Dialog"
    dialogListener="#{popupBean.onDialogAction}"
    binding="#{popupBean.dialog}" clientComponent="true">
    <af:outputText value="Do you want to continue?" id="ot1"/>
    <af:clientListener method="onDialogCancel" type="dialog"/>
    <af:serverListener type="DialogCancelHandlerEvent" method="#{popupBean.onDialogCancel}"/>
    </af:dialog>
    </af:popup>
    Can someone give me some answer how to show the popup from backing bean code immediately?
    Thanks in advance,
    Tina

    If you want to execute code after popup closes, then put this code in PopupCanceledListener or in DialogListener(you can't block method execution).

    My ipod 60gb classic is showing as fully charged until I connect it to my pc when it comes up with the error message, 'please wait very low battery' and the little wheel goes round and nothing happens, can anyone explain why this is and what i can do?

    I have worked my way through the assistant and nothing works. I have tried connecting in disc mode but although the screen on the ipod is showing that the device is charged and that it is in disc mode as soon as I connect it to the computer it comes up with the error message 'please wait very low battery' and stays like that until I disconnect when it appears to be OK again. I have tried on both pc and mac.
    BTW the ipod is an ipod video not classic if that makes any difference.

  • How to show Popup window in OAF on click of a button

    How to show Popup window in OAF on click of a button (Without using Javascript)
    1. I have one OAF page on which i should have button Called "Next"
    2. On clicking of this button a new window/page should be displayed with the image stored in database. on clicking on this "Next" button again next image from the database should be displayed on the newly opened window/page.
    3. Is it possible to configure OAF to render window_II in the opposite screen of window_I where the OAF client resides? (If the OAF-client resides in screen_I render window with image in screen_II). That is, at the first click on the Next-button, window_II appers on screen_II and not some random location. The user will have 2 screen/monitors on his work place.
    4. Given that the two windows reside on each screen, is it possible to make OAF remember the position of window_II ? The goal of this is to force the window to pop up on the same location on the same screen next time the Next-button is pressed.
    5. If window_II is closed (eg. by using X) and the Next-button in window_I is pressed again, will window_II pop up in the same location and screen as previously ?
    6. Is it possible to have a Print-button in window_I what prints the scanned picture in window_II ? Is it possible to have the click on this Print-button to open the standard print dialog on top of window_II ? Could the button be placed in window_II as well, having the same functionality ?

    I have tried to open home page window. You can change the URL according to your requirement.
    import oracle.apps.fnd.framework.webui.OAUrl;
    StringBuffer l_buffer = new StringBuffer();
    l_buffer.append("javascript:mywin = openWindow(top, '");
    String url = "/OA_HTML/OA.jsp?OAFunc=OAHOMEPAGE"; // Calling Oracle Home Page
    OAUrl popupUrl = new OAUrl(url, OAWebBeanConstants.ADD_BREAD_CRUMB_SAVE );
    String strUrl = popupUrl.createURL(pageContext);
    l_buffer.append(strUrl.toString());
    l_buffer.append("', 'lovWindow', {width:750, height:550},false,'dialog',null);");
    pageContext.putJavaScriptFunction("SomeName",l_buffer.toString());
    Above code will open the new page in new window.
    Thanks

  • How to show the LOV display column in a field of type ''popup''

    Hi All,
    I've defined a form (no matter table/master-details/procedure) with a text item of type "popup", and have chosen a specific LOV.
    At runtime, after the user chooses a value within that field, He sees the return column, (not the display column) of the LOV.
    This behavior is different in field type combobox,
    where the user sees the display column, ( this is the expected behavior when dealing with LOVs ).
    How can I, in a popup type field, show the user the LOV display column rather than its code ?
    Any help will be appreciated !

    I had a Tar on this a while ago. Oracle's response is that's the way it is, but :
    The problem is that form is storing the ID in the table but when customer queries the form, the ID is displayed, which means nothing to the user.
    This is working as it should by design.
    An alternative is to add a non-database field to the form to display the name based on the ID fetched from the table or to build the form in a manner that it will query
    from both tables, the one storing the ID and the one storing the name, as a loookup table.
    Suggested review Notes: 125272.1, 124072.1, 263923.1.
    I believe Note:125272.1 would work for you if you have a primary LoV displaying the name but populating the ID from the first table. The second LoV can query from the table storing the name (instead of making it a non-database column). When the first LoV is used, the second will be refreshed, displaying the actual name on the for
    m on your non-database field, just for display purposes.

  • How to open a message popup and keep the sequence running ?

    I have some steps in my sequence to initialize communication ports that takes a few seconds. As i have the trace off i want to display a message popup to tell the user that the sequence is doing the init. After the init steps are done i want to close the popup out of the sequence without pressing any button.
    Is there a possibility in TestStand to do this ?
    The normal Message popup stays until a key is pressed and even pauses the sequence while active.
    Thank for help.

    You could call your message popup in a subsequence as new execution and terminate this execution programmatically after your init steps have finished.
    In order to do this you have to specify (module) the sequence call step that calls your subsequence:
    -Multithreading and Remote Execution = Run in a New Execution
    -Settings: Initally Hidden and Tracing disable, Restartable, Close Window when done, Wait for Execution to complete: Do not wait, Process Model Option: Do not use a Process Model
    -Store an Object Reference to the New Execution in: e.g. Locals.ExecutionRef
    After your Init steps you insert a ActvieX/COM Action Step that terminates the new execution:
    -Object Reference: Locals.ExecutionRef
    -Automation Server: NI TestStand API 3.1
    -Object Class: Execution
    -Call Method or Access Property: Call Method
    -Method: Terminate
    This will terminate your new execution showing the message popup.

  • How to increase the waiting time for response in Adapter Engine not in IE

    Hi Experts,
                It is a SOAP to Proxy Synchronous interface. SOAP system is sending the request to PI, PI sending the same request to ECC system, After execution of some logic response back to PI in 7 minutes. In ABAP Stack(sxmb_moni) processing the response message also successfully with success flag after completion of these 7 minutes. But exactly 5 minutes later getting the error at Java Stack RWB- in communication channel monitoring i.e
    com.sap.engine.interfaces.messaging.api.exception.MessagingException: com.sap.engine.interfaces.messaging.api.exception.MessageExpiredException: Message bd2bf8d0-b2c2-11e0-c383-001cc4fb5cb7(OUTBOUND) expired.  We have set the "runtime-HTTP_TIMEOUT" parameter as 3600. thats why in Integration engine it is processing successfully.
    kindly suggest me how to increase the waiting time for response in Adapter Engine. Exactly after 5 mins getting the above error in rwb, but in Integration Engine getting successful flag after 7 mins until then it is waiting for response with  status flag Log version.
