How to show another table's field with LOV??

Hi all!
On my JSP application I'm using an LOV based on 2 tables (datasources). I take the EMP and DEPT tables as an example:
The user can click on the LOV button to select a department for a specific employee. I use the following code for the LOV:

<jbo:DataSource id="dsDept" appid="am" viewobject="DeptView" />
<jbo:InputSelectLOV datasource="dsEmp" dataitem="DeptId" displaydatasource="dsDept" displaydataitem="Id,Dname" displayvaluedataitem="Id" formname="my_form" />
So, the LOV windows shows the ID and Department Name from the DEPT table and returns Dept.Id into Emp.DeptId. This works fine but in the Edit JSP I want to display the Department Name instead of the Department Number. I don't know how I can pick the Department Name from the DEPT table. I tried to change the displayvaluedataitem="Name" but, as I thought, this didn't work.
Is there any possibility to handle this problem?!

Another option is that you have a trigger on table NOTES that generates a new note_id even for an update.

I have checked in transaction SQVI if any relationship exists between the
two tables but there is none
Is there any third table which is common and can be used to link VBAP and
IB SYMBOL
I require this bcz IB SYMBOL contain the charecteristic's of KMAT material
(configurable material ) which need to be printed in the o/p

Check with your Basis admin if it would be possible to back up and restore the data. They must have something in case of emergency anyway.
Changes in the table fields do not delete the data. I bet someone just used the Database Utility incorrectly and instead of doing the table adjustment with saving the data delete it (there is literally a radio-button for it). Just don't let people do this in Production and you'll be OK.
Also between DEV and PRD you should have another test run in the QA system. If it didn't work well in both DEV and QA I wouldn't ever put this changes in Production, to be honest.

Hi,
first of all you must have all the archivelogs since you want to recover your table from the previous backups.
anyways if you want to recover your table then you need to perform incomplete recovery to the point where you loss the table for that you need to restore and recover your database.you likely to loose all the transcation which occurs to the point where you you loose your table.

I have a column with DATE data type. Using forms 6i I want to generate a poplist list item field with this column while the value of the elements in the list to will be day names like SATURDAY,SUNDAY,MONDAY. if we change the data type from date to char, it will work properly but now with DATE data type behind it, it gives the following error message

Set your date column as a hidden (non-displayed) field. Create your list item with the varchar2 day names. Create the list item as a non-base-table field that accepts the text values of day names. On that field, create a when-validate-item trigger that translates the text into a real date, which it then uses to set the value of the actual base-table item.

Hi,
Tou can use Table inside table to show the details this way but I'm not sure about Expand/Collapse.
Expand/Collapse are part of HGRID.
I think we can develop this functionality with little manipulation.

The only option to see the active table/ field name is through F1 --> Technical Information. Apart from this, you can use any 3rd part application like GUIex (INbuilt in SAP ECC 6.0 ... can be activated by clicking on the tri-color button on the top right), but you need technical knowledge to understand the information. As far consolidated list of MM tables is concerned, SAP don;t provide you the same at one place, it experience and knowledge which help you in this regard. Here you're passing only the join table t_pa0001_pa0002. If you want to display the other tables as well, then u must have an internal table that has the columns of all the 3 tables. Then u need to buil;d the fieldcatalog accordingly and then display that table,

How to populate a hidden form field with a value passed from another page

I'm using PHP/MySQL and DW CS4.
I am trying to obtain the external key for a table, and include it as a hidden field in a form for a second table.
The user selects a "need" from a list and is taken to a new page which displays the need selected in the prior page and a form the user can fill out with details of his offer, there should also be a hidden field in this form that contains the index to the needs table, this hidden field holds the external key. Most of the code is working, except for populating the hidden field with the external key. I have proven(by printing it to the screen) that I have obtained the external key and stored it in a variable ($saveNeedId) . What I'm unable to do is assign this variable to the hidden field in the form I'm about to store in a table. Sometimes I get zero and sometimes I get the index to the first need in the table. This ought to be simple but I can't get it to work, I must be missing something obvious - still very new to PHP.
Here's the code that sets up the variable and prints it to the screen for test purposes

A CTAS (CREATE TABLE AS SELECT ...) probably isn't what you're looking for since that doesn't handle constraints.
Depending on the Oracle version, you can probably use the DBMS_METADATA package to get the DDL for the table and then modify the DDL to create the copy, i.e.

How to show a table in Excel as it is.. in Siena? PLZZ ANSWER!

My Excel sheet has a table named 'Compliance' with 5 columns....'S. No.' , 'Specifications', ....(so on).... , 'Remarks' and data entered in rows.
Now.. I want to show this table as it is in my Siena App. How do I do this??
Also.. I want to add another column(6th) in the app which contains checkboxes ...such that I can Check some of the rows (from Compliance table in app) I want, and add them to a separate Collection that can be viewed on another screen.
Please Help!!!!

Just a quick example if needed.
Create a Custom Gallery (Visuals < Galleries < Custom Gallery (choose the one on the right).
Move the Gallery to wherever you want it on the page.
Change the following:
Design < Template Size: 40
Design < Template Padding: 5
Data < Items: Compliance
Assuming you selected the Custom Gallery on thr right, Template Size refers to the height of the Template, I just used 40 as a quick example.
The Temnplate Padding refers to the empty space between each template, and the space between the templates and the Gallery.
Click inside the top template on the Gallery:
Add a Label: Visuals < Label
Set its Text to 'S. No.'
Data < Text: ThisItem!'S. No.'
Assuming you clicked inside the top template in the Gallery, you will see the lable repeated in each of the templates below it. If it didn't, delete it, then re click inside the template, ad add it.
Adjust the width of the label to the widest useage expected, as it will not grow automatically.
Add another Label: Visuals < Label
Set its Text to Specifications
Data < Text: ThisItem!Specifications
Notice the difference between the two data sources. Since S. No contains a space, you have to put a set of ' around it. The other does not have a space, so it soesn't use the '
Drag the Label to the right of the first label.
Repeat for the remaining fields.
After all of the fields are in the Gallery, add a CheckBox:
Visuals < CheckBox
Change the text next to the TextBox with its Text property.
To use the CheckBox to Collect that specific record to Collection2, use:
Behavior < OnChecked: Collect(Collection2, ThisItem)
It is usually usefull to also remove the item if UnChecked:
Behavior < OnUnChecked: Remove(Collection2, ThisItem)

How to show original table in table format from Power Pivot?

I am using Excel 2013 Power Pivot to import data from LOB SQL database. I have Sales table as follow.
The table is loaded into Power Pivot data model to produce various reports and charts. One of the report is to show the table as it is with selected columns. The business also want using Slicers to view a sub set of the rows in the table.
Is there anyway in Excel to show the tables with selected columns from the Power Pivot date model table without Power View?

the simplest thing would be to use a pivot table and set its layout to Tabular Form
1) select your Pivot Table
2) go to Design --> Report Layout --> Show in Tabular Form
4) set Design --> Report Layout --> Repeat All Item Labels to true
3) add the necessary fields to the Rows-section of your pivot table
4) remove all subtotals
5) connect the existing slicers to your Pivot Table

Selection Screen - How to populate more than 1 field with help input

Hello all,
I have a selection screen in which 4 fields are defined.
Help input is available for the first field. On selecting the entry in the popup, I would like the 4 fields to be populated with the corresponding values.
Try transaction CV01 for a sample of what I want:
Selecting from the popup will populate all 4 fields.
