How to show icon in a column of a table?

How to display an icon in a column of a table UI element and this icon is to be displayed based on values in the table row?

I normally use a calculated attribute inside the table's data source node for this.
Add an attribute "Icon", type=string, calculated=true, read-only=true, under the data source node.
(If the data source node uses structure binding and does not allow to add an attribute, add a helper value node instead, cardinality=1:1, selection=1:1, and add the attribute to this node.)
In the get-method for the calculated attribute, you get the node element corresponding to the table row as parameter. Depending on other attributes in this node element, select an icon URL and return it.
If you put your icons inside the src/mimes/<component> folder, you can simply return the file name of the icon.
Don't use a Button as table cell editor but rather an Image or LinkToAction.

  • How to show asterisk for required fields in a table row?

    Hi Folks,
    For showing the asterisk (*) for required fields in a form, I used to give required="true" for the component and surround the component with a af:panelLabelAndMessage for which I set showRequired="true". How to do this for a component in a table row. For a component in a table, there is no label per se. The required=true flag in the component shows proper error message saying that it is required but there is no (*) for that component.
    Thanks
    Vishal

    Table does not have any required attribute.But column has showRequired property .You can used this.If column has input text then also you put required true on this component.And set your required messages there .
    It will resolve your problem
    Thanks

  • How to add description of a column of a table in SQL Azure

    Hi
    I have some tables in my application database where there are descriptions added against certain columns. Needless to say they were done by using sp_addextendedproperty.
    Now I am trying to migrate the Database to SQL Azure. SQL Azure does not support sp_addextendedproperty.
    Hence I am not able to figure out how to add descriptions to those columns.
    Any help would be much appreciated.
    Thanks
    Soumyadeb

    Hello,
    Just as Latheesh post above, Windows Azure SQL database are not support extended stored procedures. That’s one of the limitations on SQL database, and I don’t know there is another way to achieve the same on Azure.

  • How to get the selected rows & columns in the table?

    hi everybody,
                         In my application the table is kept inside the event structure.I select the cells  in the table (using mouse) on running time.How to get the selected number of rows & columns in that table?

    Hello,
    You can fill selected values of the table by writing to it or the corresponding property using a property node - the table is just a 2D array of strings.  I think for your "disable" question you are referring to the shortcut menu (when you right click).  If you are using LabVIEW 8.x, you can edit or disable that shortcut menu - just right click on your table at edit time and choose Advanced >> Run-Time Shortcut Menu.

    declare

  • How can I find number of columns in a table using a query

    Hi
    I want to find the number of columns in a table using a query.
    Any help in this regard is much appreciated.
    Cheers

    Hi,
    This is the output i get when i executed ur query
    OWNER     OBJECT_NAME     OBJECT_TYPE
    SMLDBO     T2311_SURVEY_QUESTIONS     TABLE
    select OWNER,OBJECT_NAME,OBJECT_TYPE
    from all_objects
    where OBJECT_NAME = 'T2311_SURVEY_QUESTIONS';
    works Fine.
    But if i use the below query it returns : 0
    SELECT count(*) FROM user_tab_columns
    WHERE table_name =upper( 'T2311_SURVEY_QUESTIONS');
    What could be problem.
    The table exists + name of the table is correct + it resides in my schema itself.
    Any guess !!!

  • Using ODBC how do you identify a calculated column in a table?

    I've a calculated column in my table. Is there a way to identify that column through ODBC functions? I need to identify the  calculated column and make it read only. The function should support both SQL and Access databases. Please let me know if
    there is a way to find out this column type.

    Hello,
    You can refer to the following article which list some ODBC Scalar Functions which you can used in the T-SQL query statement.For example
    SELECT {fn TRUNCATE( 100.123456, 4)};
    -- Returns 100.123400
    Reference:http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb630290.aspx
    As per my understanding, there is no built in declarative support for read-only columns. You can try to create a UPDATE trigger to achieving this. Or you can create a view with derived column  from the source table. And then users cannot
    update this calculated column on the view.

  • How can i find number of columns in a table ....... it's higer priority

    hi

    Edit:
    Dear thread users!
    You have here (in my post in this thread - see above) good example for inappropriate post in one thread.
    I posted to fast - I didn't realise am I sure what I wrote!
    Consequence was that, after posting, I asked myself is it correct my statement about rights on SYS-objects, I started to search for answer, etc.
    So what I want to say is: if you don't want to find yourself foolish, like I found myself, don't post before you are sure is it correct what you wrote!

  • How to show or Hide Generic Column in a regular report

    Hi All,
    I have created report based on "SQL query (pl/sql function body returning sql query). It returns columns based on some conditions. I have total 60 generic columns like (COL1,COL2....COL60) but it returns 18 or 20 columns based on my conditions, how can I hide the columns that I don't needed. My column heading is based on function return by ':' separated. My function returns number of columns also. Is there any we I can show only those columns which contains data. My report is exactly similar to the default "SQL query (pl/sql function body returning sql query). I didn't find any logic how they are doing this show and hide. I appreciate any ones help.
    Thanks,

    Hi there,
    Somehow you need to find out how many columns your dynamic select will return (by what you said it seems that your procedure returns this information). Then store that number in a hidden page item, say Pnn_COUNT.
    Then, for the 19th and 20th columns in the report add these conditions:
    Column 19: :Pnn_COUNT >= 19
    Column 20: :Pnn_COUNT >= 20
    I hope this helps.

    You have to put table name in Capital letters
    Like
    SELECT COUNT(1)
      FROM user_tab_columns
    WHERE table_name = 'EMP';
    or
    SELECT COUNT(1)
      FROM user_tab_columns
    WHERE table_name = UPPER('Emp');Regards

  • How to show icons in ALV grid ...

    Hi guyz ,
      A lill query ....
      In an ALV gird ,if i need to display icons in one of the columns , say i have
      a field called Status , where i need show some icons like green , yellow and
      red circles , depending on some other fileds say invoice reciept date .
      So can i get icons in ALV colums.
      Please advise .
    Thanks
    Jahan

    This is very easy.  IN your status field in your internal table, you simply write the icon to it.  Make sure that the status field is defined as a character field with a length of 4.  Then write the icon to it.
    Type-pools: icon.
        write icon_green_light as icon to itab-status.
    Then when filling the field catalog, set the ICON flag.  This puts the icon in the center of the cell in ALV.
      xfc-icon     = 'X'.
      append xfc to ifc.
