How to show other datatypes in attachment table

Currently, when the attachment table bean (OAAttachmentTableBean) is added to a page, it is hard-coded to only show attachments with a datatype_id of 1,2,5, or 6. These values correspond to the FND_DOCUMENT_DATATYPE rows for
1 - short text
2 - long text
5 - web page
6 - file
We would like to extend this view so that we can see other (user-defined) datatypes in the region. It appears that the hard-coded where clause for the attachment regions includes the following clause:
and datatype_id in (6,2,1,5)
This where clause is added to the view FndAttachedDocumentsDomExtensionVO at runtime. The controller class is oracle.apps.ak.attach.webui.AkAttachmentListCO. At runtime AkAttachmentListCO.processRequest calls AkAttachmentHolderCO to build the where clause. This class has 2 methods (one for AK framework, one for MDS migrated modules) which actually create the where clause:
initAkAttachmentsVO calls FndDocumentsVlVOImpl.class (for AK based pages)
initMDSAttachmentVOs calls OAAttachmentUtils.buildWhereClauseForAttachmentVO (for MDS repository based pages).
Is there any easy way to extend this region to allow additional attachment datatypes? The prospect of extending the controller class and then digging down to this level does not seem desirable.
Also, is there any way to hide individual columns in the Attachments Table region? I have not had any success with overriding the controller class and getting a handle to the actual attachment table item.

Unfortunately, XL Reporter cannot pull data from a user-defined table in to a report. Your only option is to use the built-in features of Excel itself to get the data. Excel can pull data in to a spreadsheet using a database connection (eg OLE DB or ODBC) or, if you are familiar with programming Excel using the VBA interface, you can use VBA to open a database connection and pull extra data in to a report.

I have a RFC function that return a table containing a long text (node "it_text", with elements "Tdformat" and "Tdline").
1) I want first to copy all the Tdlines in a new node "text_box" (that I made specially for the screen, it contains only the element "Tdline" [the text itself]);
2) Then I want to show the content of the node "text_box" in a scrollable textbox on the screen (to show 8 lines of text, for example).
How to do that easily? What is the UI Element needed to show that?

If you want to display as it is then you can use Table UI element. You can change the design property to 'transparent' and set column header visibility property to none. Then you need not to write any code simple you can map the node to table field.
Even with TextEdit you can achieve what you want. Try this code...

- Use a "Form view", create a button there.
- Double-click on it and create on the tabstrip "Action" a custom action "NEWIMAGE"
- Apply to "[self]".
- Connect the output-port of the Form view with the input-port of the HTML view
- Click on the line between the ports
- double-click on the field "url*"
- enter now a formula in the formula-editor that allows you to e.g. get the url from a data-field
(you can test it with just inserting a url in the formula like 'http://www.sap.com' - don't forget the quotes- and that is different from the default url)

Eric, thanks for the info about the pictures, it worked. The mail icon is not the one that came with the mac(it looks like a stamp with an eagle) this appears at a notepad with a ruler,paintbrush and pencil. I can not open it, I did not download it and now I can not turn off the computer with shutdown I have to manually turn if off by pressing the power button. This can not be normal. Here is my problem:
How to show "ALL" Values by default in Page Drop-Down Lists in Oracle BI Pivot Tables?
For example, if you place Region in the pages area, a Region drop-down list allows the user to select a particular region, and see the data for only that region, rather than seeing all the Regions,But by default its not showing "ALL" option in the drop down list ,rather than doing that its showing result for only 1 region by default.
And an other problem with this pages area is, if we palce the multiple attributes in the Pages area in the pivot table, the (Fields)result is showing in vertically, the attributes 1 by 1(Every attribute in a new line) ,rather than showing like that, is there any way to show the results in horizantally?(We want to have it as a seperate drop drown list for every field horizantally not as a concatenated list).

How to generate a query involving multiple tables(one left join others)

I want to query a db like these:
I need all the demographics information(from table demo) and their acr info(from table acr), and their clinical info(from table clinical), and their lab info(from table lab).
The db is like this:
demo->acr: one to many
demo->clinical info: one to many
demo->lab info: one to many
I want to get one query result which are demo left join acr, and demo left join clinical, and demo left join lab. I hope the result is a record including demo info, acr info, clinical info, and lab info.
How could I do this in SQL?

Actually, I need a huge query to include all the tables in our db.
We are running a clinical db which collects the patients demographics info, clinical info, lab info, and many other information.
The Demographics table is a center hub which connects other tables. This is the main architecture.
My boss needed a huge query to include all the information, so others could find what they need by filtering.
As you have found, because one patients usually has multiple clinical/lab info sets, so the result will be multiplied! the number of result=n*m*k*...
My first plan is to set time point criteria to narrow all the records with one study year. If somebody needs to compare them, then I have to show them all.
So I have to know the SQL to generate a huge query including as many tables as possible.

However i am not able to open more then 1 table for seeing the data and columns.
1) how do i open more then 1 table tab in sql developer or i am not allow to do so ?
2) is it possible to see what column is the foreign key of a table in sql developer ?

Since you are posting in the design forum, the short answer is - you don't. Rows in a table have no inherent order that you can rely on and the "position" of rows is a visual characteristic that should be implemented by the application that displays

How do I show data from a child table in a Modal Window?
I have an application where each customer might have multiple addresses and phone numbers which are stored in child tables. When I show the customer in a record on a screen I can place a Modal Window button on the screen which can be pushed at runtime
to display detail information for the particular customer parent table which works great. However, I would also like to display the data from the address and phone number child tables. Is there a way to do that? Or can I just launch a hole separate screen
which would automatically display the needed data for the particular customer? If yes, how?

I am not even sure how to describe my situation in such a way that this forum incident would be of benefit to other people as I think it is fairly unconventional.
The “add contactaddress” link does not show up on the right.
The contactaddress table is a child of the contact table.
The contact table is a child of the contactlink table.
And the contactlink table is a child of the person table.
I have it set up this way because the contact in the contact table may be a contact to multiple persons in the person table and I do not want to re-enter the contact info every time the contact is used.
In the list detail screen of the person table I can see the contactlink child collection so that I can see the name of the person in the contact table at runtime. However, the contactaddress collection is not related to the person table so it does not show
up on the right hand side of the design screen as an “add contactaddress”; nor is there “add contact” link.
What I would like to happen during runtime is that it is not necessary to switch screens from the person list detail screen to a contact list detail screen to see the addresses and phone numbers for the contact.
Is my setup unnecessarily convoluted? Is there a better way? Please see the two snapshots below.
Perhaps there is a way to call up a Detail screen from the List Detail at runtime?

Hi everyone, is it possible to show total calculation in footer of table in webdynpro ? For the calculation, I think i can handle it because many thread in forum and weblog discuss it but for show it in footer of table , i can't find.

Even i had the same requirement once, but as this is not possible i.e displaying the total as the footeer of the table.
the other option for this is to hav a seperate table below the main table & then displaying the total in that table.
You can collect the value of each cell of column D in an integer variable at the time of displaying the data in the table.

Suppose you have currently datatype of column as VARCHAR and you want to convert it in NUMBER. Do following
1-Add another column with NUMBER datatype in your table.
ALTER table tablename
ADD testcolumn NUMBER;2-Update your actual column data to this test column.
UPDATE tablename
SET testcolumn = actualcolumn;
COMMIT;3-Update your actual column data to null;
UPDATE tablename
SET actualcolumn = NULL;
COMMIT;4-Change Datatype of actual column.
