How to show specific colums in tables with debugging

I don't know if it is possible but I get always very simple if I have to debug with tables that I can't get the fieldvalues that interest me in a column straight away.
for instance I have a table which contains a field aufnr. only aufnr is field nr 200 in the table. so I have to skip to that field and it is very unhandy.
is it possible to show just 1 column of a table in debugging ??
I tried under variables to append it with the fieldname but no succes TA_VBDPR[]-maufnr

If you are using the New Debugger:
Open your table in the table control inside the Debugger
Right Click on the Table Name (not table control) > Services of this Tool
Select "Change Columns".
Press Enter
Select your Column (AUFNR) from the Right Pan to Left Pan.
Right Click on the Table Name (not table control) > Services of this Tool
Select "Save Columns".
Press Enter
It will retain the order of the columns.
If you are using the Old Debugger:
Just type the name of the column in the column name area.

Naimesh Patel
the first part works but I can't find the 'Save Columns'
currently we work with sap gui 6.4 so it is the new debugger but I believe not as fancy as the 7.1 gui has (as I saw at sapteched)

  • How to show two seperate pivot tables with one select column

    Hi All
    My client wishes to have two pivot tables, one showing positive results and the other showing negative results.
    For Example:
    DIMENSION
    BUSINESS A          1000
    BUSINESS B          500
    BUSINESS C          100
    DIMENSION
    BUSINESS A          -1000
    BUSINESS B          -500
    BUSINESS C          -100
    Is it possible to then select the different DIMENSION with one select column for both?
    Thanks

    Not sure I got it right try this
    for Number column pull twice and set col*-1
    use 2 pivot table for each number type

  • How can I see changes in table with insertrow();postchanges()without commit

    Hi friends;
    I use jdeveloper 10.1.3.1 with jheadstart 10.1.3.1.
    I create two view object.In the first page I create table with one view object.
    In the second page I create table (with tableselectmany) with other view.
    I select many rows in second page and in the managed bean,
    I insert selectted rows atributes to first pages tables attributes.
    I use this code.
    public String commandbuttonaction(){
    CoreTable table = this.getTable1();
    Set rowSet = table.getSelectionState().getKeySet();
    Iterator rowSetIter = rowSet.iterator();
    BindingContainer bindings = getBindings();
    DCIteratorBinding pr_dcib = (DCIteratorBinding)
    bindings.get("DeptIterator");
    int i=206;
    while (rowSetIter.hasNext()){
    Key key = (Key) rowSetIter.next();
    pr_dcib.setCurrentRowWithKey(key.toStringFormat(true));
    RowImpl prRow = (RowImpl) pr_dcib.getCurrentRow();
    String AM="model.AppModule";
    String CF="AppModuleLocal";
    ApplicationModule empSvc = Configuration.createRootApplicationModule(AM, CF);
    ViewObject emps = empSvc.findViewObject("EmpsView1");
    Row newEmp = emps.createRow();
    newEmp.setAttribute("Manager",new Number(1));
    newEmp.setAttribute("Department",new Number(1));
    newEmp.setAttribute("Depno",new Number(3));
    emps.insertRow(newEmp);
    try {
    newEmp.validate();
    catch (Exception ex) {
    System.out.println("validate catch");
    try {
    empSvc.getTransaction().postChanges();
    catch (Exception ex) {
    System.out.println("post catch");
    Configuration.releaseRootApplicationModule(empSvc,true);
    i=i+1;
    In this code I only postchanges() in first view and dont want to commit.
    But I cant see changes row in the page .If I press save I see transaction completed succesfully message.
    But in database not insertted any rows.
    If I write commit() after postchanges() code I see rows in the table .But I dont want to commit.Only post
    my changes and if necessary I press save button in page.
    How can I see changes in the page without commit???Thanks for all....

    You should NEVER use statements like this in managed beans:
    ApplicationModule empSvc = Configuration.createRootApplicationModule(AM, CF);
    This will create a separate application module instance, not shared by the the web pages. That's why you do not see the changes.
    Instead, you can use the following code:
    ApplicationModule am = (ApplicationModule)JsfUtils.getExpressionValue("#{data.MyAppModuleDataControl.dataProvider}");
    where MyAppModuleDataControl shoud be replaced with the name of your am data control.

  • How to know exact size of table with blob column

    I have a table with one BLOB column. I ran this query.
    select bytes/1024/1024 from user_segments where segment_name='GMSSP_REQUEST_TEMP_FILES'
    (user_segments is a view)
    it gave me 0.125
    It means size of table is 0.125. I have uploaded 3 files to this table. Each of them is of 5 mb. After that I check size of table. but result was same. i.e 0.125.
    Can any body tell me how to know exact amount of space consumed by files. I am expecting following result
    size should be (5+5+5+0.125)MB
    Any help is appreciated.

  • How to create an dynamic internal table with the structure of a ddic table

    Hi all,
    I want to fill ddic-tables (which I already created) in my abap dictionary with data out of CSV-files (which are located on the CRM-Server).  The ddic tables have different amount of fields.
    I started with creating a table which contains the name of the tables and the path to the matching CSV-file.
    At the beginning I'm filling an internal table with part of this data (the name of the ddic-tables) - after that I am looping at this internal table.
    LOOP AT lt_struc ASSIGNING <lfs_struc>.
         LOOP AT lv_itab1 INTO lv_wa1 WHERE ztab_name = <lfs_struc>.
         lv_feld = lv_wa1-zdat_name.
        ENDLOOP.
        CONCATENATE 'C:\-tmp\Exportierte Tabellen\' lv_feld INTO lv_pfad.
        Do.
        OPEN DATASET lv_pfad FOR INPUT IN TEXT MODE ENCODING NON-UNICODE IGNORING CONVERSION ERRORS.
        READ DATASET lv_pfad INTO lv_rec.
        IF sy-subrc NE 0.
          EXIT.
        ENDIF.
        enddo.
        REPLACE ALL OCCURRENCES OF '"' IN lv_rec WITH ''.
        SPLIT lv_rec AT ';' INTO TABLE lt_str_values.
        INSERT into (<lfs_struc>) values lr_str_value.
        CLOSE DATASET lv_pfad.
    endloop.
    This is not the whole code, but it's working until
    SPLIT lv_rec AT ';' INTO TABLE lt_str_values.
    I want to split all the data of lv_rec into an internal table which has the structure of the current ddic-table, but I didn't find out how to do give the internal table the structure of the ddic-table. In the code I used an internal tyble type string but I should be the structure of the matching tabel.
    If I try to create an internal table by using a fiel symbol, I am told, that the data types are not matching.
    Has anyone an idea?

    Hi Mayari,
    though you were successfull with
    METHOD cl_alv_table_create=>create_dynamic_table
    I must warn you not to use it. The reason is that the number of tables created is limited, the method uses GENERATE SUBROUTINE statement and this triggers an unwanted database commit.
    If you know the DDIC structure, it is (starting with ECC6.0) much easier:
    field-symbols:
      <table> type standard table.
    data:
      lr_data type ref to data.
    Create data lr_data type table of (<DDIC structure>).
    assign lr_data->* to <table>.
    The split code can be simplified gaining speed loosing complexity not loosing functionality.
    field-symbols:<fs_s> type any.
    field-symbols:<fs_t> type any.
    SPLIT lv_rec AT ';' INTO table it_string.
    loop at it_string assigning <fs_s>.
      assign component sy-tabix of wa_string to <fs_t>.
    if sy-subrc = 0.
      <fs_t> = <fs_s>.
    endif.
    at last.
      append <fs_itwa3> to <ft_itab3>.
    endat.
    endloop.
    Though it may work as Keshav.T suggested, there is no need to do that way.

    Clemens

  • How to create a ms-access table with java?

    hi all
    i've my application and i want to add the capability to creat an access file (.mdb) and then, via SQL , create a table, with many columns of many types, and with a primary key too.
    i know that it's also an SQL problem, but i'm searching for it everywhere
    thanx for your reply
    sandro

    Hi,
    It would have been much better if you had specified your development environment- the database driver class depends on which environment you are working with. Forexample, if you are working with vj++6 you can make use of the com.ms.jdbc.odbc.JdbcOdbcDriver class. If you are using IBM's Visual Age for Java3.5 you can find the sun.jdbc.odbc.JdbcOdbcDriver. Oneway or another you should have the .class for jdbc-odbc(usu they have the form: xxx:jdbc:odbc:JdbcOdbcDriver). Check all the packages that are available in your development environment that have the form xxx.jdbc.odbc.JdbcOdbcDriver.(And not clear what you know and what you don't - so I start from the very elementary steps)
    Anyways, What you have to know is that it is not possible to create databases (e.g. .mdb) directly from a Java application(as far as I know). What is possible is to create new tables inside an already created database and process queries based on those tables.In short what I am saying is : you need to have a DSN before writing applications that create tables.
    Follow the following steps to create DSN(for win2000):
    1)Go to the control panel and click the 'administrative tools'
    2)In the 'administrative tools' click to open ODBC(data sources)
    3)Click the 'add' button and choose 'Microsoft Access driver'
    4)In the DSN text field enter the dsn (e.g., Test)
    5)If you want to create a table in an already existing database choose select and select one. However, if you want to create a new database click 'create' and enter a name for your database(e.g. ExampleDB.mdb). If you do this successfully it will issue a successfull operation message.
    6)Click advanced and enter the login name(e.g. Albert) and password(e.g. mxvdk) for the database
    7)Click 'ok's to finish the operation.
    After the above three operations what you will have is an empty database(with no tables) named "ExampleDB.mdb" in the directory you specified.
    Now, you can write a java application that creates a table inside the database "ExampleDB.mdb".
    Check this out:
    import java.sql.*;
    public class Class1{
    public Class1(){
    String userName = "Albert";
    String password = "mxvdk";
    String dsn = "Test";
    String databaseURL = "jdbc:odbc:"+dsn;
    //This is just an sql table creating statement- have nothing to do with java
    String sqlCreateStmt = "CREATE TABLE StudentTable" +
    "(StudentID varchar(32) PRIMARY KEY," +
    "name varchar(30)," +
    "age int)";
         try{
         Class.forName("com.ms.jdbc.odbc.JdbcOdbcDriver");
         }catch(ClassNotFoundException eCNF){
              System.err.println("ClassNotFoundException:");
              System.err.println(eCNF.getMessage());
         try{
         con = DriverManager.getConnection(databaseURL,userName,password);
         stmt = con.createStatement();
         stmt.executeUpdate(sqlCreateStmt);
         }catch(SQLException e){
    System.err.println("SQLException:");
    e.printStackTrace();
         //insert one sample data
    insertSampleData();
    private void insertSampleData(){
         String sampleStudentID = "scr-342-tch";
         String sampleStudentName = "Tom James";
         int sampleStudentAge = 24;
    //This is just an sql table updating statement- have nothing to do with java
         String sqlUpdateStmt = "INSERT INTO StudentTable VALUES ('"+
                             sampleStudentID+"','"+
                             sampleStudentName+"',"+
                             sampleStudentAge+")";
         try{
              stmt.executeUpdate(sqlUpdateStmt);
              }catch(SQLException e){
              System.err.println("SQLException:");
              e.printStackTrace();
    public static void main(String[] args){
    new Class1();
    private Connection con;
    private Statement stmt;
    //This program runs perfectly in my VJ++6.0 (console application mode) and also in my IBM's
    //visual Age for Java3.5 (with sun.jdbc.odbc.JdbcOdbcDriver as my database driver)
    //If you are developing in another development environment, what you need to change is the
    //"com.ms.jdbc.odbc.JdbcOdbcDriver" in Class.forName("com...") stmt.

  • How to match columns of two tables with

    Hello:
    I've two tables like below:
    Table1:(Base Table)
    Country|Prefix|Prefix_Length
    CountryA|001|3
    CountryB|0012|4
    CountryC|00443|5
    CountryD|0091|4
    Table2:(Detail Table)
    Population|Area|Prefix
    500|AreaA|0015921
    1000|AreaB|00122
    400|AreaC|00443743
    300|AreaD|0091333
    100|AreaA|001
    I need to match these two tables with prefix column (which length is not fixed in both tables: but it starts with 00 in both tables). Two different countries prefix can be similar up to a certain length. So, Prefix_Length can be used to determine (exactly) how long should be taken to search from Table2.
    Output:
    Country|Prefix|Area|Population
    CountryA|001|AreaA|600
    CountryB|0012|AreaB|1000
    CountryC|00443|AreaC|400
    CountryD|0091|AreaD|300
    Please help me with your valuable feedback.

    You have to explain how CountryA population is calculated:
    with base_table as (
                        select 'CountryA' country,'001' prefix,3 prefix_length from dual union all
                        select 'CountryB','0012',4 from dual union all
                        select 'CountryC','00443',5 from dual union all
                        select 'CountryD','0091',4 from dual
       detail_table as (

  • How to model in RPD aggregate tables with different years of data

    Can someone let me know how to accomplish the following in OBIEE?
    I want to create a logical fact table with multiple logical table sources. I have an aggregate table that only stores current year data. In OBIEE, if a user builds a report using data from the current year, I want the query to hit this aggregate table. My base fact table however stores all years of data. If a user builds a report using data from prior time periods, I want the query to hit the base fact table.
    And if you're curious, the aggregate only contains current year data because the ETL needs to do a full load each night due to the complexity. The high volume of data and the amount of time it takes to populate this aggregate means we only have time to populate the current year data.
    Thanks in advance.

    Yes this situation is both an aggregate table and fragmented data. I already modeled the aggregate table correctly specifying the content logical levels.
    I'm not familiar with how to set the fragmentation logic. I see the fragmentation content section. What do I enter in this section to specify that my AGG table is for current year data? Do I need to enter something for both logica table sources?
    Please let me know if there is a link with examples or an explanation. Appreciate the responses.

  • How  to Implement a Chained Hash Table with Linked Lists

    I'm making a migration from C/C++ to Java, and my task is to implement a Chained Hash Table with a Linked List. My problem is to put the strings(in this case names) hashed by the table using de Division Metod (H(k)= k mod N) in to a Linked list that is handling the colisions. My table has an interface implemented(public boolean insert(), public boolean findItem(), public void remove()). Any Help is needed. Thanks for everyone in advance.

    OK. you have your hash table. What you want it to do is keep key/value pairs in linked lists, so that when there is a collision, you add the key/value pair to the linked list rather than searching for free space on the table.
    This means that whenever you add an item, you hash it out, check to see if there is already a linked list and if not, create one and put it in that slot. Then in either case you add the key/value pair to the linked list if the key is not already on the linked list. If it is there you have to decide whether your requirements are to give an error or allow duplicate keys or just keep or modify one or the other (old/new).
    When you are searching for a key, you hash it out once again and check to see if there is a linked list at that slot. If there is one, look for the key and if it's there, return it and if not, or if there was no linked list at that slot, return an error.
    You aren't clear on whether you can simply use the provided linked-list implementations in the Java Collections or whether you have to cobble the linked list yourself. In any case, it's up to you.
    Is this what you're asking?
