How to sort new mails

Hello friends
iam in the process of creating a javamail application iam retriving the messages by the number from the user mail box i would like to show the new messages in the user inbox as they arrive any idea how the sorting could be done

but iam aware of these methods i have different problem i have set netscape messager here and the netscape imap server just puts all the new mails at last i can check if the mails are unread new etc. by there flags but the problem was retrieving the messages by there number from my imap server i.e netscape messaging server
any way i have solved the problem
i have developed a engine in java that does this

Imap: how to get new mail headers only?

Hi all,
I understand that we can use getMessages to get the light weigh messages, then we can use getHeader to get each message's header, but how do I get the new messages' header only? Is there such a way?
If I do:
getMessages
while (loop through all the Messages) {
getFlag
if (flag is unread), go get header.
}I am afraid that looping through the Messages and get each message's flag is expensive. Is there a better way to do this?

Message[] msgs = folder.search(new);I haven't tried this particular search term myself but I've used others and they do cut down the time to extract messages from a folder.

How to sort news articles from Oldest(from the current date) to newest?

I have a list of news announcements from the month of "Jan 2015" to "Dec 2015". For example each month having a one event, so totally 12 events. But I need to display the latest news articles from current date of latest upcoming news at the top(i.e. May 2015) to farthest at the bottom(i.e. Dec 2015)

Try with sort!
{module_announcement sort="datereverse"} or {module_announcement sortType="datereverse"}. I'm not sure what syntax we use with the new render engine.
With the old syntax it would be {module_announcement,filter,id,noTemplate,effect,targetFrame,reserved,reserved,reserved,r eserved,sort}

How to recieve new mail on a Blackberry only when away from computer?

Hi all!
I just bought a BlackBerry 7250. I got my email mail set up on it just fine, but I'd like to only receive mail when I'm away from my computer (when it's asleep or powered off)...it's not of much use to be getting emails on my BB when I'm sitting at my computer and they're popping up right in front of me.
I figured I would be able to do this by somehow rigging Mail to do so (something with downloading messages from the server, etc). I know it must have something to do with the computer figuring out when my mail is being downloaded to my mail program from my pop server, and sending when it's not. Can someone give me a clue?

I use two ways - not very sophisticated
On my pop account, I set the preferences to delete mail on server immediately after download
On BlackBerry, I delete the mail account when I am near the computer and re-enter when I want mail

How to disable new mail notifications in Thunderbird 24.2.0

I need to stop pop-up biff-like notifications. Some solutions are around including Mozilla help but none seems to be valid for my version which is 24.2.0 for linux. There seems to be nothing like "General options". Thanks.

In newer Thunderbird versions the menu is hidden by default, only the trigram you describe (called the Application Menu butto) is permanently visible.
You can get the menu to show by pressing F10. From there you can get to Edit -> Preferences. I like the old style menu better then the button. You can also choose to always show the menu by pressing F10 -> View -> Toolbars -> Menu Bar...

How do I stop Thunderbird from creating additional folders when I add a new mail account?

I've been using Thunderbird for about 8 years now, migrating the configuration from version to version. Currently I have two accounts it picks up email from. I want to add a third account but everytime I do this, it creates a bunch of new folders with the name of the account in my folder tree. This is undesirable, mainly because it looks terrible and it's also dodging the default filtering I have set up globally for received messages.
How do I create a new mail account without it making new folders and just using the local folders like the other accounts already do?
I do not use Thunderbird's internal spam filtering, I use popfile and use message filters to sort the emails by headers Popfile adds to my messages. I do not understand why it won't let me make a new account like the other accounts without making a special folder for the new account. Please help?

Item 1. Global inbox only works with POP mail accounts.
Tools menu > account settings >server Settings > advanced and select use global inbox to turn it on. Note the folder will disappear, so move the mail you want from them before you change the settings.

How to change colour of mailbox containing new mail

I have Thunderbird sort my incoming mail into various mailboxes based on various criteria.
Until recently, when new mail arrived in any box, the title of that box (in the list, left hand pane) turned red - thus making it easy for me to identify which boxes needed my attention. For some reason this has stopped. The incremental number showing the number of unread messages still changes, but the title colour remains black.
Anyone know how to change the behaviour to highlight mailboxes containing new mail please?

My point is that until recently the behaviour was automatic - it changed the colour of box names as amatter of course. This has now changed, wth all box names being in black whether or not there is new mail in the box.
I receive a lot of mail and being able to quickly distinguish which box had received new mail would make life easier..
I suspect there is a setting within Thunderbird to enable this but I'm damned if I can find it..

In outlook 13, How can I get my new mail to populate my existing "account" or "Profile" instead of two separate ones-reposted, maybe first was wrong place

I set up outlook, using mainly wizards. I have received some mail from my provider account.
trying to get data from my old pc, I accidently set up another account, it became default.
I finally got it deleted
I now have my first profile with email I received, and all data (contacts, emails and archived items) but now I can not get new email.
I tried to "change settings" but there is no account listed to chose to change.
I create new and again I have two accounts.
How can I get my new mail to populate my existing "account" or "Profile" instead of two separate ones or
How to set up completely new, and move everything from existing profile to it and get rid of existing, Just do not want two.

I think I used to have a Mail account however I could not remember the password when I tried to turn it on. I decided to delete the account completely and to start again. How do I set up a new mail account with a new email address and a new password??
I can see how you create a new mail account but it then asks for an email and password so that doesn't help. I really didn't think it would be a hassle!

You first need to set up a new User Name and Password with your Internet Service Provider (ISP); that is, whoever provides you with Internet access, such as Comcast, AT&T, etc in the US. Alternately you can go on the Internet and set up a new email Account with a new User Name and Password with a public company such as Google's "Gmail" or Microsoft's "Hotmail". Once you have set up your new Account with them, THEN you enter that information into Apple's "Mail" for it to send and receive emails for your new outside Account.

I think your only solution is to zip the image files first and then attach them.
Read this from a site I found:
Sending Graphical Attachments -- When you attach a graphical image to your message, the recipient of your message sees the image inline (that is, in the body of the message) if her email client supports inline display. ("Take Control of Email with Apple Mail" contains a table listing the capabilities of popular Mac and PC email clients.) If a client does not support inline display (or the recipient has turned off the inline display option), the file appears as an attachment that must be opened in a separate program.
On the one hand, an inline image is easier for the recipient to see - all she has to do is look at it. On the other hand, inline images can be frustrating to scroll through. If you do not wish to send a graphical image inline, you must compress the file before attaching it - Mail, sadly, lacks a built-in compression option, though fortunately for Panther users, the Finder offers Zip compression without requiring a separate application.
Note that when you compose a new message, Mail always shows attachments in the body of your message. You can manually drag them somewhere else, but many email clients display all attachments in a separate list, regardless of where you place them in the message body.
If you paste an image into a message or drag & drop an image from another window (say, a Web browser), Mail converts the raw image data to an attachment in TIFF format. On the other hand, if you drag & drop the icon of an image file (or use the Attach button to locate the file using the file browser), Mail leaves the attached image in its original format. How can I stop iPhoto from reidentifying faces I have already 'crossed', while still being able to identify and sort new faces.

iPhoto has detected faces of people I dont know, in my 'iPhoto faces' whenever I click the cross in the corner of the face (when sorting faces) the face temporarily disappears, but once I have uploaded a fresh batch of photos (and want to identify new faces) it automatically re-identifies the old photos that I don't want to have to sort again. Thank you, that makes sense (I think!) However, I need to be able to tell iPhoto who the people identified in my photos are, does that make sense? How do I identify the people in my new photos without clicking 'find faces'. I know that button searches through my photos to find faces, but it also gets me to the place where I identify the faces as my friends and family, is there a shortcut to get to that place without clicking 'find faces'? You should not need to enter anything. the iCloud service is one of the preconfigured options.
Just choose the iCloud type from the Add new Mail screen, and enter your details in the next screen.
If you don't have the iCloud option, but instead have the mobileMe option then you will need to update your iOS.
