How to specify Log4j settings ?

I have a situation where i need to put 2 Log4J properties files for 2 of my BEA managed instances ?
I do not want to do it via server start scripts ....
can that be done via confix.xml for each servers ?
Iam using WLS 8.1 sp3.
please help ?

This is just a start and eventuall i will be having 10 Log4j files for my "A" managed server. Similary, say 8 Log4J properties files for my "B" managed servers ....so on and so forth for rest of the other managed server.
If i use following then my startup script will have lots of "IF" and "ELSE" to specify each properties file for each of the managed servers.
Now, when i see my weblogic config.xml --- i see <server> ... </server> tags .....which has all the configuration information of that specific managed server.....CAN'T i use config.xml to specify my Log4J.properties$maangedserver ...for each of the managed servers ??

  • How can I specify different settings in CustomSettings.ini based on the OS that is being deployed?

I originally thought this could be achieved using "OSVersion" or "OSCurrentVersion" but (unless I'm mistaken) those variables are in fact tied to the OS from witch you actually launch the MDT Wizard right? i.e. say I run MDT from within
Windows PE to deploy Windows 8. The "OSVersion" and "OSCurrentVersion" will contain values for the Windows PE instance that is currently running MDT and not the Windows 8 OS I am actually deploying right? Assuming that is the case then
is there some variable in MDT that stores version information about the OS you are currently deploying? If so can I use that in CustomSettings.ini to specify different settings for specific OSes I deploy?

    Rens,
First thanks for responding. Next please don't take my response the wrong way but this is a bit of a pet peeve of mine. Maybe I'm just "doing it wrong" but I have used the TaskSequenceID trick in the past and thats actually where my problem lies.
Too many people are recommending this course of action without including the caveats. Your response implies that using TaskSequenceID is as simple as just adding "TaskSequenceID" to priority and then creating entries based on the TSIDs themselves.
In reality getting this to work is far more challenging. One needs to only check the following threads (and several others) for the issues other people are having when they try to use TaskSequenceID in CustomSettings.ini:
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/e17a1952-d1f7-41ef-8231-0d6fcc41882e/mdt-2012-settings-per-task-sequence?forum=mdt#f0810428-e6fd-468e-8c76-ca18b210c191
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/320aafee-07d2-4b96-9138-a902fec7edf5/mdt-2012-custom-rules-by-tasksequenceid-not-working-now
In fact, following the steps outlined here was the *only* way I was able to get TaskSequenceID to work for me:
    http://www.the-d-spot.org/wordpress/2012/07/20/how-to-use-different-settings-per-task-sequence-with-mdt-2012/
Even then its causing some erratic issues in some areas like button lag in the Wizard because ZTIGather has to run twice and pre-checked Applications in the wizard still installing even if they are unchecked. Since my needs are more OS-specific (as opposed
to Task Sequence specific) I was hoping for a better solution. I suppose I can check BDD.log but I was hoping someone here had already encounter this same issue and hit upon a solution they could share.
    Anyone?

  • Need help emergency! In my Vision Application, how to extract the specified curve settings from the geometric template which was generated by NI Template editor??

I have a machine vision application, in which the geometric pattern match technique was used to find the target in variant images.
as we know ,we have to make a geometric template by the NI Template editor, in the editor we can adjust the parameters of specified curve settings to get the wanted curves, and we can draw the custom area to ignore during the match. then we save the template for latter using in our vision application.
Now my question is coming. when I program my application for the geometric match. I have to specified the Curve Parameters for the input of IMAQ Advanced Setup Learn Pattern 2, obviously, I have to set this parameter same as the one in the template, but I don't know how to extract it from the geometric template. I have tried all methods I can, for example, read custom data, IMAQ Get Geometric Template Features(this is just for the feature based? then is there a same VI for the edge based?) , even to anasys the PNG file formats!!!! But I can not read the geometric template info by myself!
It is too illogical that we have to adjust the CURVE PARAMETERS manually again for the " IMAQ Advanced Setup Learn Pattern 2"after I have already done that in the NI Template editor !!!!
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Hello,
why do you need to specify the curve parameters again, if you have already built a template using the template editor? You do not need to use "IMAQ Advanced Setup Learn Geometric Pattern 2 VI" to find the matches (see the attached example).
you can wire the control to the "curve parameters" to the "IMAQ Setup Match Geometric Pattern 2 VI", but the values are not used if you wire a true boolean to the "use learn curve parameters" node (it is like this by default). To prove this, i have attached a small program, with pre-created template (using the template editor) for geometric matching. The template and three test images are also included.
Try changing the curve parameters with the "use learn curve parameters" enabled, and you will see that the matching score remains the same. Then disable the boolean control and try changing the curve parameters.
Also take a look at the detailed help for "IMAQ Setup Match Geometric Pattern 2 VI", specifically the "Use Learn Curve Parameters".
    I hope this helps.

  • How to specify a unique integer for each local variable defined in TestStand?

I have a .net application that reads all TestStand local variables, but for the .net application each local variable should have a unique integer number. Iterating through the locals and storing the index is not a good solution, because if a local variable is moved or deleted, the index will change.
Does anyone know how to do this in TestStand or having an idea how to this in my .net application?
    Thanks.

Thanks Doug for your reply. Using a GUID is not an option because this ID is too long. I will try to explain why I need this ID for. I have a lot of C# code that generates code to deal with a lot of instruments. For example to configure a device, user defined variables can be used to specify some settings or to store results. These variables are not stored in the generated code with a name but with an integer number. Now I want to try to be use all our existing device driver code with the TestStand sequencer. So, I need a translation between the name of a TestStand local variable and an integer number. After constructing the interface to my code I want to read all the variables from TestStand and now I need the integer ID to do the mapping to my variables. I know that I can use use your proposition 2 by encoding the unique ID into the name of the variable and parse the name of the variable to get it back, but this is not an automated way. This will be rather difficult if there are several hundreds of variables. For this reason I am looking for an alternative way. Looking forward for your response. Best regards

  • So how to specify different answer file for different install images in WDS snap-in?

    hello
in WDS snap-in, in properties on server name, on client tab, we can define an answer file for unattended windows installation on WDS clients.
my question is, maybe we have added multiple images in WDS snap-in (win xp image, win 7 , win 2008,...)
now this one answer file applies to all of them ?
so how to specify different answer file for different install images in WDS snap-in?
    thanks in advanced

Under the "Client" tab of WDS, you should only use an answer-file with settings relevant for the installation. This would be credentials for the WDS deployment share, international settings used during the setup and possibly also destination drive
details (if you want the installation to take care of partitioning the disk etc). The settings relevant for unattend-files used under "Client" would only be of those in phase 1 (WinPE).
However, if you would like to have specific unattend file for every installation, e.g. Win7, Server 2008, Win 8 etc, you can browse to the image under "Install Images" under the image Groups. There you can select properties for every image and
    have a personal unattend-file.
    hi Joel
very cool. thanks a lot, that really helped me.

  • How to specify approver to a Document

    Hi All,
Here is my requirement, while uploading a document via Oracle contributor Document check-in form in Webcenter Spaces, can I mention Approver or Reviewer for that document?
I know that we can specify the approver/reviewer at folder level. I want to know how to do that for a document.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks!

Yes, it is possible. However, this is actually 3 questions in one - all of them are related to WebCenter Content and one slightly also to WebCenter Portal.
    1) How to specify a reviewer/approver for a workflow step?
As written in the manual (http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E23943_01/doc.1111/e10978/c05_workflows.htm#CEGGCBCA , step 16.), there are three options:
    - select a specific user
    - select a specific user's group (called alias in WCC)
    - select a token
The first two are static, but a token can be dynamic - you have an option to write your own code in idocscript (see examples at http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E23943_01/doc.1111/e10978/c05_workflows.htm#CIHDJAAE ) which may implement any logic you wish.
    2) How to allow a contributor to influence a workflow (e.g. select an approver, but also choose a workflow, etc.)?
What a contributor does is a) entering metadata b) entering the content, so OOTB the information influencing a workflow must be either in metadata, or in content. Usually, it is in metadata - you can a variable or a set of variables which may be evaluated during workflows.
A trick with folders is that you may pre-define the metadata for content checked-in the folder, but you still have to 'translate' the metadata settings into workflow logic by tokens.
    3) How to do that from WebCenter Portal? (Contributor)?
Like WCC's GUI, Contributor can benefit from profiles - http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E23943_01/doc.1111/e10978/c04_metadata.htm#DAFIIEEI where you can define which metadata will be displayed/hidden/filled in, etc.

    Hi,
The configuration file is a file with extension .cscfg. If you have Visual Studio, the file is automatically generated when you create the project, and automatically updated when you modify the project's properties.
      >> Not sure were could I get content of this file from api?
It's needed to encode this file's content use base64, and put the result in the body of your request. (Please refer to
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windowsazure/ee758710.aspx for more information.)

However, may I know how you find the body for your request? (It seems you do a base64 decoding, you find it is a valid configuration file, but it doesn't have any configuration settings.) Actually, the settings defined in csdef needed to
be contained in the configuration file.

  • How to specify in the ISE mac-address with its description?

    Hello :-)
I want to implement ISE 1.2.
We have a database of mac-addresses and their description (for example the phone with the Mac address, John).
When connecting the phone John to a wifi network, WLC checks its mac-address in the database and allows access.
How to specify in the ISE Mac address with its description?
In the endpoint settings in ISE 1.2 there is no description field. We have ISE1.2.1.198, vWLC 8.0.100, AIR-LAP1131, MS AD (Win2003).
How can I handle this situation? Any ideas?

This link http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/security/ise/1-2/user_guide/ise_user_guide/ise_man_network_devices.html about managing network devices(router, switch), not endpoints(phone, notebook).

  • How to specify only possible owner of the VM in Hyper-v cluster (Windows 2012R2)

    Good day,
We want to prevent the migration of
virtual machines between the cluster nodes in indows 2012R2 Hyper-V cluster.
How to specify only possible owner of the VM in Hyper-v cluster (Windows 2012R2) ?
    SQL clustering

    Hi Al_leont,
I ask if your using FOCM or SCVMM as you configure possible owners in different places. As well as possible owners you can also configure preferred owners, affinity and anti affinity groups and placement rules.
To configure possible owner in FOCM you select the VM you want to configure, then in the bottom window select the resources tab (change from summary tab). Right click the Virtual Machine Resource, then select the Advance Polices tab of
the popup window. You should then see the hyper-V nodes as Possible owners.
In SCVMM you just right click on the VM and select properties, then settings form the popup window.
Preferred owners, affinity and anti affinity groups, placement rules are configured in other locations or by PowerShell.
    Kind Regards

  • How to specify -preview when launching via AppleScript

I have an InDesign Server CS5.5.I have a shell script that waits for xml files to be placed into a certain directory on the server. When it sees a file in the folder it launches an applescript that controls InDesign Server. I need to know how to specify the -preview option for the InDesign Server binary so the files generated by the server will have previews when they are opened in InDesign client. The apple scripts look like this:
    tell application "InDesign Server"
         -- do some stuff
    end tell
Where/how would I specify the -preview option. I see nothing referring to the -preview option in the Library for indesign.

There's two ways to set it:
    1) in command line when you launch the executable, there's a preview option. I don't remember off hand the exact syntax.
    2) In the script itself (using Javascript syntax -- Applescript would be similar) app.serverSettings.imagePreview = true;

  • How to transfer printer settings from one Mac to another (both OSX)?

Hello, I have not found a detailed description on how to transfer printer settings from one Mac to another.
My issue is that I have a Mac G5 with 3 different settings saved as "presets" for the same printer. This works great, since the posters I print (on the large format printer) need different margins and different paper at times.
This G5 is basically retired and only used for printing. G5 has OSX 10.3.9
I have a MacPro as its replacement (OSX 10.4.11).
The MacPro has all my apps and other settings setup to my liking.
I found several links via Google saying copy this folder or directory, but I am not sure I did it correctly. I don't see the "presets".
I tried launching the Migration Assistant (I hope that's the correct name), but was concerned the settings on the new MacPro would be overwritten with ALL the old stuff on the older G5. I did not start the transfer process because of this.
If someone would list the steps needed to accomplish the transfer of printer settings or advise if this is possible, then I would be very grateful! The previous user of the G5 I am using was a "Genius" and I don't know how he created these "preset" choices.
    Thanks!

Hi SCChelpdesk, and a warm welcome to the forums!
I found several links via Google saying copy this folder or directory, but I am not sure I did it correctly. I don't see the "presets".
This is the File that holds that info on Tiger, not certain on Panther...
    /Users/YourUserName/Library/Preferences/com.apple.print.custompresets.plist
After moving, you very well might have to change the Owner's Permissions within Get Info window, then log out/in.
I tried launching the Migration Assistant (I hope that's the correct name), but was concerned the settings on the new MacPro would be overwritten with ALL the old stuff on the older G5. I did not start the transfer process because of this.
MA would transfer the info, but/and, if the user that had that info had the same Shortname as on the new one, it'll demand you give it a new Shortname to use... but then those settings would be transferred to that new user on the new machine. I think the 1st one will work though.
The previous user of the G5 I am using was a "Genius" and I don't know how he created these "preset" choices.
We can go through that way if you like... not all that hard.

  • How to specify a variable in the script logic

One of the how-to guides indicated that I should use the dollar sign before and after the variable name.
Can someone explain how to specify a variable name in the script.
    Thanks.

    Thanks, Pravin.
I tried using the syntax with the # sign (as shown below) but when I validate the code I get an error. The message indicates there is an issue with $WS_PERCT$.
