How to specify the excel sheet you wanted while using Active X

could anyone tell me how to name or append to specific the excel sheet? i do not know where and how to set the path for it.

Hi Gorka, could you describe a bit more, on the setting of page before or after adding? Do you use a string or numeric to set the parameter, and if i want the datas to be set to say, workbook (project.xls), sheet 2, how would you set it? I tried to use index, rather than add method, and when i set the index to 0, the datas will be at sheet 1, and for other index numbers, there would be an error of code 1.

How to enforce the message "Do you want to save changes?"

How to enforce the message "Do you want to save changes?" when the user attempts to close a form after checking a non-database item (check-box).
All the other database items in the block are not updateable and only viewable.
After checking the non database item check-box, if the user tries to commit, then the system is saving the changes and call the appropriate procedure on save.
But if the user tries to close the window without committing, the form is not showing the message "Do you want to save changes?" since the check-box is a non database item.
How to enforce the message "Do you want to save changes?" in this scenario when the user tries to close the window?

This is a fairly common question in the forum. You will need to override the default exit form process and check to see if the checkbox is checked. You can do this in the Key-Exit trigger. For Example:

BTW, what happens if all the user does is check the checkbox? No other changes have occured. What changes are you trying to process?

ALV Excel View - how to save the excel sheet

Hi,
i've a colored ALV, when the user is choosing the excel button from the ALV menu bar the alv is shown as an excel. But: the sace button in the upper left corner has now a mouse-over text named "update" and the file tab is missing.- So how can he save this now as an excel sheet? We are using excel 2010. Saving as spreadsheet is not an option cause all colors are lost.

We have had this same issue since we upgraded to EXCEL-10.
Here is what I came up with.
First, open a new EXCEL spreadsheet from the PC (not from within the SAP application)
Select the “Customize Quick Access Toolbar”, then select “More Commands”
Under the “Popular Commands” select “Save As” and press the “Add” button.
Then the “OK” button
You should now see the “Save As” button in the upper left hand corner of the screen (with the Save, Undo and Redo buttons.)
When you display the next SAP report as EXCEL, you should have access to this button.

How to override the dialog "Do you want to save" while closing the form?

I have two blocks on the form.Master block is based on a view wheres the detail block is populated by a procedure.
Even if the user doesnot change any record and trying to close the form it is still showing the default "Do you want to save" with three options save,discard,cancel as choices.How can we prevent the form displaying that if the user is closing the form with out any uncommited changes.

Steps to get the warning:
1) Open the attached pdf using Acrobat Professional.
2) Click the Confirm Enrollment" button
3) Now close the document & the acrobat gives a warning "do you want to save changes to investigation.pdf before closing"
Summary of the XFA pdf:
It has two text fileds. On docReady event field A is made visisble & field B is made invisible.
On button click event the field A is made invisisble & field B is made visible.
On closing the pdf it should not throw this warning message.
My Efforts:
1) Found a property in adobe js docs.
       event.target.dirty=false;
It doesn't solve the problem.
2) I tried to put this logic in almost all the events listed in designer but I am not able to resolve the issue.
Please help me resolve this issue.

After the most recent firefox update I can no longer copy and paste. the fuinction only works in Windows and I HATE usign it. Any suggestions on how to restore the copy and paste function while using Mozilla?

master block
detail1 block of master
detail2 block of detail1
when i go out of detail1 and detail2 blocks after doing some modifications it asks me "Do you want to save the changes you have made"?
i want to avoid this message as well as my changes should be posted in the database. what is the solution for this big pblm?

may be you are trying to modify the database item or reassigning the database item value which is not actually needed.
try to comment the reassigning database values
and give clear_form(do_commit);
most probably u will not get the message again

How to remove the bar: ''do you want to open or save this file''?

If i open a PDF file in IE a bar will pop-up with is asking ''do you want to open or save this file''. Is there a posibility to open this file immediatley. So without the bar that will ask if i want to open or save the file? Loking forward for a answer!

How to keep the screen in sleep mode while using the Apple Remote?

i use the imac to play soft music for me to fell at sleep, but sometime i just want to turn the volume down/mute/stop. but the screen keep come back on and brighten up my room.
would this be possible? is there any program that could adjust this option?

I appreciate the help A Brody, but this does not solve what I am asking. I like being able to focus on something like a YouTube video without having to worry about losing my "spot" if I want to move the cursor to pause the movie. I want to do this on demand and not have to worry about clicking a bunch of different stuff or opening a screenshot in Preview.
If my iMac can do it, then how can my MacBook do it?
