for scc console, you will need to start SCC in foreground
from docs:
Run scc.sh in the foreground to get access to the SCC console, which you can use to shut
down and to display information about services, ports, system properties, and
environment variables.

  • How to start webdynpro console

    Hi,
                   What is path for logon to visual administrator? How we can start the j2ee engine? Is it necessary to keep start webdynpro console to develop/customize  webdynpro  (java) application?
    Thanksu2026

    Hi Kundan,
    To develop webdynrpo applications u need to start the J2EE engine.
    To Start the tool:
        For an ABAP + J2EE system (J2EE Add-In):
    1)         On Windows:
    Run \usr\sap\<SAPSID>\DVEBMGS<xx>\j2ee\admin\go.bat.
    2)      On UNIX:
    Run /usr/sap/<SAPSID>/DVEBMGS<xx>/j2ee/admin/go.
          For a J2EE system:
    1)        On Windows:
    Run \usr\sap\<SAPSID>\JC<xx>\j2ee\admin\go.bat.
    2)        On UNIX:
    Run /usr/sap/<SAPSID>/JC<xx>/j2ee/admin/go.
    The J2EE Engine Visual Administrator is a graphical user interface (GUI) that enables administration of the whole cluster, all cluster elements, and all modules running on them. It provides remote monitoring and management of managers, services, libraries, and interfaces working on each element in a single GUI.
    Follow the help link describes all about Visual Administrator.

  • Problem to start BPEL Console of Oracle BPEL Process Manager 10.1.3.1.0

    Hi everyone!
    I'm writing to yours because I installed Oracle BPEL Process Manager 10.1.3.1.0 but I can't start BPEL Console. I tried to start it by the option menu of Windows XP and by Developer Prompt, but I get a HTTP 404 Not Found page. When I was installing the universall installer told me that it wasn't possible to set ORACLE_HOME variable because it had a value older than 1023 characteres. So, I continue the installation but I can't start the BPEL Console. The Dos Console teld me sometimes when I put http://localhost:9700/BPELConsole..timed out. So, tell me how to resolve that problem.
    I'll be waiting your responses.

    Hi,
    you said:
    it wasn't possible to set ORACLE_HOME variable because it had a value older than 1023 characteres
    What do you mean with older than 1023 chars?
    I think the easiest way is to uninstall the BPEL Console and run the installer again with correcting the ORACLE_HOME problem...

    If it is linux machine,
    switch to SIDadm user,by giving the command <b>su sidadm</b>
    ex:if SID is J2E,then it will be <b>j2eadm</b>.and then it is <b>startsap</b> or <b>stopsap</b>.
    For troubleshooting,
    1.go to /usr/sap/SID/JCxx/j2ee/cluster/server0/log
    look for <b>defaulttrace.trc file.</b>
    you can get to know the errors here and find teh root cause of it.
    2.you can also look for <b>devp_trace</b> in SAPmanagement console.
    3.Before doing all this,first check if <b>JAVA_HOME,path</b> and <b>LD_LIBRARY_PATH</b> is set properly and proper JDK is taken.
    4.check id <b>DB is up and running.</b>

  • How to Starting and Stopping OC4J Server using Ant

    How to Starting and Stopping OC4J Server using Ant
    In the ant task definitions for ant-oracle-classes.jar (see antlib.xml) there are two tasks called
         name="restartServer" classname="oracle.ant.taskdefs.deploy.JSR88StartServer"
         name="shutdownServer" classname="oracle.ant.taskdefs.deploy.JSR88ShutdownServer"
    I thought that these would shutdown and start the OC4J server. I guessed the parameters as – (Does anyone know where 50 ant targets are documented?)
    <oracle:restartServer
    userid="${oc4j.admin.user}"
         password="${oc4j.admin.password}"
         deployeruri="${deployer.uri}"
    />
    <oracle:shutdownServer
         userid="${oc4j.admin.user}"
         password="${oc4j.admin.password}"
         deployeruri="${deployer.uri}"
    />
    This, however does not start and stop the SOA suite. To do that I've hacked this solution together -
    <path id="oc4j.console">
         <pathelement location="${oracle.home}/config"/>
         <pathelement location="${oracle.home}/jlib/startupconsole.jar"/>
         <pathelement location="${oracle.home}/opmn/lib/optic.jar"/>
         <pathelement location="${oracle.home}/lib/xmlparserv2.jar"/>
    </path>
    <target name="stop" description="stop oc4j server" depends="init">
         <java classname="oracle.appserver.startupconsole.view.Runner">
              <classpath refid="oc4j.console"/>
              <sysproperty key="ORACLE_HOME" path="${oracle.home}"/>
              <arg value="stop"/>
         </java>
    </target>
    <target name="start" description="restart oc4j server" depends="init">
         <java classname="oracle.appserver.startupconsole.view.Runner">
              <classpath refid="oc4j.console"/>
              <sysproperty key="ORACLE_HOME" path="${oracle.home}"/>
              <arg value="start"/>
         </java>
    </target>
    This sort of works – except when the SOA suite doesn't stop cleanly – and needs user interaction to press a Close button. This isn't very useful when doing a continous integration build and deploy.
    So, does anyone have any suggestions or alternative methods to do this?
    - frank

    Actually if the server throws exceptions when it stops (which it always has since we applied patch 10.1.3.3) this technique will pause until a user responds to pop-up ... So a better way (I think) is -
    <target name="start" description="start oc4j server" depends="init">
    <java classname="oracle.appserver.startupconsole.view.Runner">
    <classpath refid="oc4j.console"/>
    <sysproperty key="ORACLE_HOME" path="${oracle.home}"/>
    <arg value="start"/>
    </java>
    </target>
    <target name="stop" description="stop oc4j server" depends="init">
    <echo message="We expect OC4J *NOT* to stop cleanly, so we will timeout after 3 minutes ..."/>
    <java classname="oracle.appserver.startupconsole.view.Runner" fork="true" timeout="180000">
    <classpath refid="oc4j.console"/>
    <sysproperty key="ORACLE_HOME" path="${oracle.home}"/>
    <arg value="stop"/>
    </java>
    </target>
    <target name="restart" description="restart oc4j server">
    <antcall target="stop"/>
    <!-- wait for server to quieten down -->
    <waitfor maxwait="2" maxwaitunit="minute">
    <not><http url="http://${oc4j.http.hostname}:${oc4j.http.port}"/></not>
    </waitfor>
    <antcall target="start"/>
    </target>

  • How to start Weblogic 10.3.5 managed server on port 80

    Hello,
    We're trying to understand how to start Weblogic as root so we can start on port 80 on Linux. We understand that we'll use the post bind UID to run as a non-priv user. Right now in the Admin console under the managed server, Server Start properties (node manager) we have the weblogic user as the user to start the server, which works. Is this where we'd put the root user? We tried that but it fails complaining about root user didn't have permission to start the server. Can someone shed some light?
    Thanks

    Hi
    1. You are asking for 2 things here:
    a) Start Weblogic as root user ?
    Before I answer this question, who (Which User) installed Weblogic Software and who created Domain. I hope its NOT root user. Usually its not preferable to use root account for this. Instead create a new user account like for example oracle or some xyz. Then login with that account. Install Weblogic and create any Domain. I would NOT prefer/recommend using root account to install weblogic. This means, I would not recommend/support to start weblogic as root user. The thing is when you install weblogic, it stores/creates lots of files/scripts. Now when you start, it has to be same user. Because at the startup, we need to read files and also CREATE lots of temp files under domain root folder. So on unix, this becomes very complex. Simple answer is if you install weblogic and domain with user say "xyz" and try to start domain with "root", you corrupted your entire domain. Some files gets changed to root user and some files just FAIL saying you do not have permissions. So its just gone. If you are a Unix Geek, do some magic and restore all permissions back.
    b) Start Weblogic at Port 80
    Very Simple. Forget about above thing. Install Weblogic and create domain say with user "xyz". Just go to domain root folder, open config/config.xml file and edit the localport to 80. By default at time of domain creation if you used all the defaults like port 7001, then you will NOT see this entry in config.xml file. But still you can edit config.xml file manually. Stop the servers. Add a section with listen-port as 80. Just refer docs for the steps. After this change, your weblogic server is now running at port 80. NOW, the main precautions is make sure that you do NOT have any other stuff running at the same port 80. Otherwise, Weblogic server startup will fail saying port 80 is already is in use.
    Now if you want both a) and b), still it is possible. But I would NOT want/recommend a), which is use "root" account to install weblogic server and create and start the Domain. Nope, totally not recommending and supporting this. Yes, port 80 can be used, but not the "root" account.

    Hi
    You can start Managed server in admin console ->servers
    or you can start the managed servers in Independent mode(without admin server)
    by using the startManagedWebLogic.cmd/>startManagedWebLogic.sh (this requires weblogic authentication).
    Hope this helps

    Hi.
    I'm not clear on this - are you having problems running the server, or only invoking the console? What happens when you just try to run the server - does it start or does it give you this error?
    Also, Windows ME is not a supported OS, but you might get it working.

  • How to start weblogic as backend?

    Hi,
    I can telnet Unix server and start weblogic server. The problem is when
    i logout. The weblogic is logout too. How to run weblogic as backend?
    and won't logout even user logout. Any tips?
    Thanks

    [REPLY TO NEWSGROUP ------- This followup was posted to
    weblogic.support.install and a copy was sent to the cited author.]
    Actually you dont want to use nohup because it makes the process immune
    to signals, like SIGQUIT which you want to be there for getting thread
    dumps.
    Cheers
    Mbg
    In article <[email protected]>, [email protected] says...
    A good command to use in these situations is nohup.
    You will also likely want to add start Weblogic.sh into your
    //etc/rc.local
    Thanks,

    Hi Harden!
    I start up WLS in HPUX like any process in background of course with root
    user and then switching WLS to diferent user to protect it, just put nohup
    in the begining and the symbol & at the end of the comand to start WLS...and
    thats all.
    Please check the information about start WLS in port 80 for unix
    machines........
    Another way doing this I guess is start WLS and then start the
    console....and then close the WLS telnet....and console remains WLS up.
    Hope this helps!

    I have installed Oracle 10G on a windows XP prof. work station. AFter rebooting the machine I wanted to access the OEM.

    "Agent process exited abnormally during initialization"
    Can anyone tell me what the problem is and how to resolve it?

    Have you changed the machine or domain name since your installed? Have you disconnected from the network? If the domain has changed then this will cause problems.
    Try these steps:
    1)
    Have a look in <ORACLE_HOME>/<DATABASE_HOME>/
    There should be a directory with the following structure <MACHINE_NAME>.<DOMAIN_NAME>_<ORACLE SID>
    Look in the sysman/log directory and open the OracleDBConsol<sid>srvc.log file. What errors are there?
    e.g. c:\oracle\product\10.1.0\db_1\localhost_orcl\sysman\log
    2)
    Try manually starting the console from the O/S command prompt
    cmctl start dbconsoleWhat errors occur?
