You would sync Outlook via iTunes on the computer. Connect the iPhone to the computer, make sure you have the latest version of iTunes running, select the iPhone in iTunes and it will display the Summary page. Select the Info tab, and there you would select what you want to sync calendar and contacts to. Make sure since this is the first time you have done a sync that whichever of the devices is new to the sync process has at least one unique contact/calendar event to get iTunes to prompt you for a merge or replacement. Email, I don't think so. Calendar will probably still work, as you didn't turn that off.

Hi,
The instructions are very straightforward for how to set up your iPhone, using the Exchange setup, with Gmail sync.
Now that I am set up, all of my existing contacts and calendar events on the phone have not synced over to Gmail, and I can't figure out how to make it happen.
Ideally, I'd like to sync my existing (now inactive) 3GS with Gmail, and then, sync my new iPhone 4 up to Gmail, thereby pulling the contacts and calendar events onto the phone as well.
Any advice would be appreciated.

I don't understand, but I don't know what else to do. When I made the connection, the mail synced from Gmail just fine. But the contacts and calendar have not left the phone, when I log into my Gmail account via the web, no contacts have copied there from the phone.

I am trying to find out how to sync my outlook calendar, which is my default calendar, with my gmail calendar so that I can share it with my wife so she knows when I am going to be out of town for work.

My primary calendar that I use on my iPhone 5 is my outlook calendar. In the past, on other phones, I would sync this with my gmail calendar so that I could share it with my wife so that she would know when I am out of town for work. Any suggestions for doing this or is there a better method to accomplish the same thing?

You can use iCloud to share the Calendar, that way she will always be up to date on that particular section of your work calendar. If you want to use iCloud, I would recommend backing up so you have a safe copy of your data.

To sync my work calendar (that uses outlook) with my iPhone, Is sync my work calendar with my Gmail Calendar so I get my gmail alendar on my iPhone.
But on my iPhone the gmail calendar is not the account that is linked to my iCloud account.

Yes but if set iCloud as my default calendar it wont resolve my problem. Because If I add an item into my Gmail calendar, it will successfully get synch into my iPhone but as it is the gmail cal it won't be ssnch with my mac
(If I add directly an item into my iphone, it will get synch with my mac)
So to be clear, is there a way to copy on the fly items inserted from GCal to Icloud cal ?
add item in my work calendar -> get synch to GCal -> get synch on my iphone GCal -> copy that to iCoud Cal -> get synch through ICloud into my Mac

Good evening everyone,
I am a user of the N900 since February 2010 and it's my favorite phone of all the phones that i ever had. I really enjoy every second when i use it
However, I have a "little" trouble now.
The touchscreen doesn't respond normally anymore. When I touch it there's no reaction. The Calendar app or the Settings for example don't open. When I touch in the middle for example something completely different opens: desktop configuration. When I slide from one desktop to the other it stops in the middle and goes back to the previous one instead of moving to the next one. Or sometimes there's no response at all and I have to restart the phone, although it doesn't improve anything. I don't know how this happened because the other night I could normally use it, I set an alarm clock. And in the morning I couldn't turn this alarm off because the screen broke down during the night lol :/ what can be done to make the screen work again? Can I do something myself at home or do I have to take it for repair?
So now I want to make on the laptop a backup of all the data I have on the phone. There was a moment when the screen worked normally again, so I took advantage of this situation to turn on the Bluetooth. I synced most of the data. It's a piece of cake for the pics, videos, contacts and messages. But I am unable to find a way of syncing the Calendar. Ovi Suite doesn't have this option so I tried with Nokia PC Suite. I managed to sync only a part of all the entries I have there :/ I realized that it syncs only the default one ("General" I think it's called in english?). I have 7 other calendars like "Work", "Fun" or "Events". How can I save those calendars on my laptop? Please

As always I can't count on others for help and have to do everything myself even though I'm not a smartphone geek. After a few days of search I managed to find a way to maybe sync the created calendars. But I have to create a profile in Outlook (what the hell?). Okay, I created a profile in Outlook according to the steps mentioned on a website and I still can't sync the calendars with Nokia Ovi Suite! WHY??? In addition, in the settings of the N900 in "Transfer & Sync" when I want to create a new data transfer profile I can't find my laptop as a device in the Bluetooth search list. I am UNABLE to sync/transfer data. I'll try now with the USB cable...

I have checked "sync contacts", when it does the sync it says it is syncing contacts, but the address book on the iPad remains empty. As Julian points out, the present means of synchronization under Mac OS X 10.4 and later involves an entirely different technology than that originally used. You can read a technology brief here.
It has nothing at all to do with your perceived 'greed' on the part of Apple. Your iPod is essentially a read-only device, and cannot push changes back to the framework.
As he points out, there are third-party alternatives to explore, including multiuser packages of BusySync and the use of individual Google calendar accounts as intermediaries for single-user remote cross-platform synchronization.

Problems with iPhone calendar sync and Gmail calendar.

Ive been trying to sync my iPhone calendar with the Gmail calendar on my iPhone but i cannot get this to work. neither way. ive been searching the web for hours now, been to many google websites which are suppose to help with this but it wont work.

Edit: the iPhone calendar works perfect with my MobileMe account, but I want it on Gmail as well ( if not both is possible I would prefer Gmail )

I tryed to add my gmail account to the microsoft exchange as it says in on of the links above, but the only thing that happend was that i got all of the email contact on gmail addon on my iPhone, which was really annoying since i cant call an email adress.
Anothing thing I would like to add is that i also would like to sync my contacts to Gmail.
I am fully aware that I have MobileMe, but I would like to have it synced to Gmail because thats what I use each day and I have 2-step-authentication.
