How to synchronize with internet time server automatically?

Our 2008 R2's clock gets 1 or 2 minutes ahead every week. We have to go to the Internet Time Settings dialog box to click "Update now" to do the sync and it always works. Is there any trick to get the automatic synchronization work?
What is the sync schedule? It can't be once per month, can it?

The note at the bottom of the first link from Alex Verboon has the following, which worked on my Domain-associated Windows 7 system:
Synchronizing with an Internet time server
You can synchronize your computer clock with an Internet time server. This means that the clock on your computer is updated to match the clock on the time server, which can help ensure that the clock on your computer is accurate. Your clock is typically updated
once a week and needs to be connected to the Internet for the synchronization to occur.
Note
If your computer is on a domain, you can't synchronize your clock with an Internet time server.
Open Date and Time by clicking the Start button, clicking Control Panel, clicking Clock, Language, and Region, and then clicking Date and Time.
Click the Internet Time tab, and then click Change settings. If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
Click Automatically synchronize with an Internet time server, select a time server, and then click OK.

How to synchronize the FieldPoint time with my computer time?

When I using MAX to read the values from my FieldPoint cFP-1804 module, there is and timestamp generated for every measurement, but it does not match my PC's system time. How to synchronize the FieldPoint time with my windows PC?

I'm using the cFP-1804 without embedded CPU module, I'm using asp.net, measurement studio to link with the cFP-1804, not by using Labview. Does cFP-1804 have a Time Server function? Please tell me how to match the FieldPoint time with my PC.

In order to obtain an updated timestamp with each FieldPoint Read, you should
use a Flat Sequence structure. In the same frame as the
FieldPoint Read, use a Get Date/Time In
Seconds node.
The program obtains a fresh Timestamp each time the FieldPoint Read VI is
called.

Clock sync with apple time server

Hi everyone!
I am experiencing some oddities with the clock sync with apple time server
if I set the clock to a given hour and then set it to GMT hour with the European time server, the clock does not automatically adjust to the proper time! why is that? when does the clock sync to the time server? can I modify this time adjustment?

Do you have the correct zone set in the "Time Zone" tab of "Date & Time" system preference? All the time servers use UTC (GMT), so will give the same time.

How to synchronize the system time/date of a PXI controller with a GPS or time server?

Using a PXI system with a NI-PXI 8196 controller and LabVIEW RTOS, I am searching for a solution to set or reset the on board timeclock of the controller trough a external signal like a GPS or a time server (ntp).
Do an easy way exist to do this?

How to synchronize with Oracle 11 g

since a longer time I try to synchronize a Oracle Database Lite with Oracle 11 g over Mobile Server. But I still hadn't any success. I wanna use C# 3.5 and ADO.NET. Oracle Lite documentation is very bad, did not helped me. I cannot understand how to design a mobile sync application. Is it neccessary to use Mobile Database Workbench and Packaging Wizzard and to publish my mobile application to Mobile Server? Is too complex, I don't need/want this. All I wanna do is to use offline Oracle Lite Database on my PDA and synchronize the data during ActiveSync-connection with a Oracle 11 g data base. I tried also OracleSync classe and OracleEngine.Synchronize() and BGSyncControl, but nothing worked. I talked to our oracle support but they only send me links to tuorials sites I already read. I'm very unhappy about synchronization in Oracle Lite.
Has anyone successfully done synchronization with Oracle Lite and Oracle 11 g on a mobile device and can give me some hints or sample code? Or is there any mobile database which is better for synchronization?

When attempting to synchronize Oracle Lite with the Windows Mobile emulator, ActiveSync is not able to establish a connection with the emulator device after the emulator device is set to emulate being cradled with the Device Emulator Manager.
Cause
The SERDMAAsPlugin.dll is not registered on the host system.
Solution
1. Open a Command Prompt.
Start, Run, cmd
2. Navigate to the C:\Program Files\Microsoft Device Emulator\1.0\ directory.
3. Register the SERDMAAsPlugin.dll.
regsvr32 SERDMAAsPlugin.dll
4. Reset the emulator device.
5. Open Microsoft ActiveSync.
6. Select File, Connection Settings.
7. Ensure that "Allow connections to one of the following" is checked and that the DMA connection type is listed within the drop down box.

If external NTP device is down will have any impact in the cluster setup?You should configure the cluster nodes as peers as well as getting the time from the external NTP server.
If the external NTP server fails, then time will drift, but at least the cluster nodes keep themselves in sync to have a consistent view.

How to report with different time zone dynamically based on user's account?

I am wondering is there a way to change the report's date & time data based on user's locale setting in OBIEE?
Let's say the user log in to OBIEE with eastern time zone setting. The data that's in the database is storing a transaction of $400 at 1am Pacific time.
So when this user run a query which does something like 'select date, transaction, amount from date, transaction, sales where this = that', it should display the $400 amount done at 4am eastern time instead of 1am pst.
What I have done is to have data stores in date dimension to be UTC time, and I have also changed the data type of the date column to be 'local time zone'. DB is Oracle DB 11G now.
Now this query works perfectly well in the DB as long as I run the following commend first:
Alter session set time zone = 'whatever my time zone'
and then
Select date, transaction from tables..
The date displayed will automatically be converted into different time zone..
Since everything is working nicely from Oracle DB level, I need to know how to make it work when OBIEE sends the same query down to the DB..
I know that, probably I will have to enter the above alter session commend in the connection pool, however, I can't hardcode the time zone value.
I also don't want to store user's time zone in the user table because these users travels a lot. So even if his table setting is EST, but at a given day he can be traveling to pst time zone and view reports.
Is there a way to dynamically set the time zone based on user's account locale setting?

E71- How to synchronize with webmail?

Hi,
I have a problem synchronizing with webmail with my E71.
i found out how to sync with exchange itself when i am connected to my pc... but i want to synch with our webmail when i am on the road.
But i cant find the option to insert my webmail address and login settings anywhere.
It just keeps asking for an emailaccount... which is the way to go for internal use.. not for on the road.. (cant very well connect to the exchange server when i am not connected..)
Anything else i gotta download/upgrade???

I have an E61, but had the same problem a while ago if I understand your issue right. One possible workaround: Have your Exchange-email automatically forwarded to a "regular" email account (web.de, gmx, gmail...) that you can quite easily update on the fly - maybe create a new email account where you have your Exchange-email forwarded, but nothing else.

TA24116 Synchronizing mac with internet time

Hello everyone,
I am a mac user and I have a problem with my gmail account, some friends are unable to email me.According to them it shows a message "undeliverable." I contacted the google support team and they say that the problem lies with that fact that my mac is not synchronized with the internet time, I would like to know how to do this?

How to synchronize with Media GO WIRELESSLY

Well, the title said it all. When it comes to adding a new song to play phone's playlist, I'm really tire of the lengthy process of plugging in, waiting 5 mins just for the computer to recognize the phone and another 10 mins to sync.
It would be very convenient if there is a way to synchronize with Media GO by using same wifi network.

If your computer and phone are on the same network you can connect the phone using WiFi using PC Companion. Open PC Companion and click the how to connect option at the top and select WiFi. When connected Media Go will find it.

How to setup OID to synchronize with 2nd AD server

We are currently using OAS 10g (10.1.2.0.2)
We have configured OID to synchronize 1 way with 1 AD domain server on Global catalog port.
Now I have a 2nd AD domain server which we need to pull in the user accounts and synchronize any changes to these accounts into the same OID.
I have created a new integration profile in ODM to synchronzie accounts from 2nd domain server.
I have successfully pulled in the AD user accounts from the 2nd AD domain into OID by bootstrapping using the properties file method(only this method works, the usual bootstrap command without properties file doesnt work at all).
But after pulling in the AD accounts from 2nd domain server, the synchronization profile for the 2nd AD domain doesnt synchronize any changes in user account nor any new user created at 2nd domain end.
Have checked the synchronization profile trace file but could not find any thing wrong.
The new integration profile which was created for the 2nd AD domain is using the same "Connected Direcotory URL" as all the other profiles that we have for the 1st AD domain.
Can someone advise what is wrong with my OID synchronization process for the 2nd AD domain?
Any help to point me in the right direction would be appreciated.

How can you schedule a task to execute at 4:35 p.m (according with the system's clock) every day.
There are two classes that permit to schedule periodic tasks specifying the initial time and the period or delay for subsequent executions.
These classes are:
java.util.Timer
java.util.concurrent.ScheduledExecutorService
I could use these classes with an appropriated initial delay and a delay of 24 hours.
But if the system time changes, there will be trouble:
Example 1: if the system time changes because the Daylight Save Time rules, the task will not be executed at 4:35 p.m (system's time).
Example 2: if some person changes the system time, the task will not be executed at 4:35 p.m.
Some suggestions?

Thanks.You can synchronize time on a machine to get updated with the world clock. Double click on clock at the bottom of your screen.
Unfortunately, I am not an admin on my machine right now to give you the specifics.
