How to take a derivative of a signal in Labview Fpga

How to make derivative of a position signal acquiring using AI module of cRIO to get the velocity signal.
I got one example in forum and i m attaching that, bt i need to implement this in FPGA.
Note : The position is varying at 30Hz to 80Hz Freq.

I forgot to mention that one problem with numerical differentiation is that if you have a noisy signal, the noise is amplified!
You can try implementing a moving average or median filter in the FPGA code. There are a number of previous threads and Community posts on these, ranging from simple implementations to more complex ones. Try using the search function at the top of the page to look for them.
Of course, it's easier to acquire the raw data, send it to the RT host and do your processing there, depending on resources.
Regarding the sampling time, you have hopefully set this via the tick delay you set in the FPGA acquisition loop.

  • How to take a derivative of a sine wave?

    I know this is probably really simple and I am sure I am doing something stupid but please could someone help me..
    I am just trying to plot the derivative of a sine wave on the same graph as the original sine wave. It seems to be working (it is displaying a cosine wave) but the amplitude is way off.
    Please could someone just point to me why the amplitude is off.. the original sine wave is going between 1 and -1 but the derivative is between 60 and -60

    Just speculating, but...
    The derivative of a 10 Hz sine wave should have an amplitude of about ±60 (2*pi*10).
    The Sine Waveform VI has a default frequency of 10 Hz.

  • How to reset a counter on external signal in LabView?

    Hallo there!
    I am using LabView v 8.5 and the NI USB-6211 to acquire signals, among them are the following:
    1) angular pulses from a rotary encoder
    2) a reference pulse for the rotary encoder witch will give a pulse on a specific position of the movement for every rotation
    3) value from a pressure sensor
    What I am trying to do is to create a pressure/volume diagram based on the pressure and volume inside a cylinder of an IC engine. To do this, I will need the angle of the engines crankshaft to calculate the pistons position in the cylinder. This way I can calculate the volume and put it in a xy graph to represent the volume (x-axis) and the pressure(y-axis).
    I am using clk0 to count the pulses from the angular encoder, and this works great. However I now need the reference pulse to somehow reset the count at the precise time it goes high in order to precisely know the angular position.
    How can I do this? And how precise will this be? And will I need any kind of synchronization with my pressure measurements? If so, how?
    The relevant part of the program I am working on resembles the Count Digital Events with reset.vi 33 KB as found in this thread. However, I don't know how to get the reference pulse to reset as the stop button is. How can I do this?
    In addition: the fast pulses of the angular encoder = 0-> ~10kHz. I seem to lose information if I use the basic level trigger detection.vi when I put this signal on an analog port.

    Hi Nick,
    If you have an X Series or 2nd Generation cDAQ chassis (basically any cDAQ chassis except for the 9172 or 916x sleeves) then you can implement:
    1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,(reset),1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,(reset),1,2...
    You would have to configure an Edge Count Task, set the initial value to 232 - 6 (such that the 6th count causes the counter to rollover, which generates a pulse on the counter output), and enable the count reset using your external signal:
    The count reset isn't currently available for other DAQ devices, but I believe it should be available on M Series (62xx) and TIO (660x, 6624) with a future driver release (some time in 2012).
    If you don't have an X Series (or gen II cDAQ), don't despair.  On other hardware, you can get close to the previous behavior with a counter output task, with the exception that the "reset" signal would only be detected after the 2nd tick after your pulse is output.  Also, the reset signal would have to occur at the beginning to arm the counter the first time.
    Or, you can get the 3rd behavior that you asked for by doing a continuous counter output task with the external signal as the source of the timebase ticks.  For example:
    1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9
    In toggle mode (default):
    6 ticks of initial delay, 2 ticks high, 7 ticks low, 2 ticks high, 7 ticks low, ... etc.
    In pulse mode:
    6 ticks of initial delay, 9 ticks high, 9 ticks low, 9 ticks high, 9 ticks low, ... etc.
    See here for an overview of the difference of the two modes.  Basically, pulse mode will emit a short pulse when TC is reached, and toggle mode will toggle the state of the counter.  You can't have less than 2 ticks as a high time, low time, or initial delay.

    Search the Labview help for coherence and you'll find several functions (in Labview 6.1 Full Development System). The functions are in the palette Analyze >> Waveform Measurements >> Frequency Response Function (Mag-Phase) or (Real-Im).

  • How to take data between two rising edge

    I would like to take waveform between two rising/falling edeg, I am using NI5102 VB6.0 with two input one is analog signal and the other is trigger input, start to read input signal when first trigger(rising/falling edge) and stop it by second trigger(rising/falling edge). 
    I have try to using counter CWcounter1.MeasurementType=... but the measurement tyep is not support my hardware.

    I looked more into your issue. Couple of questions. What are you using the counter for? Are generating sample clock for digitizer using counter?
    I am not sure why you need start trigger your application. But here is a solution I propose.
    Use reference trigger as triggering option and then set reference position as 0% (this will set pre-trigger samples to zero).
    Then perform multiple record acquisition. The advantage of using multi-record acquisition is that for every trigger, digitizer will acquire a record. Then you can fetch this data.
    So, whenever there is a trigger ... you acquire a record which can hold data for 8.3ms.
    If you have number of records greater than memory size of the digitizer, then there is an attribute NISCOPE_ATTR_ALLOW_MORE_RECORDS_THAN_MEMORY, setting this to true will allow you to have number of records greater than the memory size of the digitizer.
    You can specify number of number of records using NISCOPE_ATTR_HORZ_NUM_RECORDS
    Use NISCOPE_ATTR_FETCH_RECORD_NUMBER to acquire current record by linking it to index i of for loop.
    Use NISCOPE_ATTR_FETCH_NUM_RECORDS  to acquire only one record when trigger occurs.
    So,
    1) Set the program for multi-record acquisition
    2) Once trigger occurs, acquire current record using NISCOPE_ATTR_FETCH_RECORD_NUMBER and acquire only one record per trigger using NISCOPE_ATTR_FETCH_NUM_RECORDS.
    If not, you are not sampling at higher rates and you can also use a DAQ card with counter to acquire data using retriggerable acquisition.

    I want to take back up on my computer from my E63 Contact list, memo and SMS.
    Last week I have an problem with my outigoing SMS and I have to reset my mobile software. Now again this problem trigred since last time. I have checked with other SIMs of differenct networks but the problem is not yet been fixed.
    Can any one suggest how to fix this problem and how to take back up of important dat.

  • How to take back up of my XI scenraios ( namespaces and Objects )

    I have done some scenarios on XI sytem which has been crashed. Present it is not working . J2ee Engine is not starting.
    Now we have installed new XI system. I want to take backup of my old scenarios and i need to import it into new XI system. How to take backup  from old XI system which is not working now and import it into new one.
    Could you please help me.....

    Hi,
    You could not able to recover the data from crashed system i.e old XI system.
    For that now you have to develop all as new one in the current new XI system.
    But whatever development that you will be doing that you could create backup.
    I.e follow below steps..
    1. After development and testing select the software component and right click on it --> Export or Tools -->Export Design Objects.
    2. select transport as file system, for CMS again it will go on Java Engine that will be not as backup and give the name of file.
    2. Select the namespaces or individual object to be taken as backup.
    3. Process it and finish the wizard.
    4. This will lead you to download it to local PC that you could keep it as backup
    For Importing goto
    Tools---> Import design object.
    Similarly you can export and import Integration directory objects also

    Dear,
    At the time of production confirmation, the by-product that is produced gets transferred to the respective location. In this case the SCRAP, the goods movement takes place with the movement type ‘531 – Receipt of by-product into unrestricted use’ which is assigned already in co11n, goods movements.
    Once the Scrap is the respective storage location, it is ready for sale.
    Create a pricing procedure for selling scrap.
    It consists of Excise, education cess & higher secondary cess. And also you have conditions for CST & VAT, & TCS, Surcharge on TCS, education cess & higher secondary cess.
    Once you are done with pricing procedure, create condition records, create sales order, deliver and invoice, which is your normal sales process.

How do I remove the email and website subscription from the desktop model without messing up the laptop info? They seem to be connected at this point and I am not sure how to take off the information from one without damaging the other.

    Have you solved this problem? If not, can you be more specific? You can change the email account information using Email preferences. Which website subscription would you like to remove?

    1. Select the photos you want to copy to Desktop with Command key (or go to Edit menu > Select All, if you want to copy all photos), and then, drag them to the folder on Desktop.
    2. Select the photos you want to copy to Desktop with Command key, go to File menu > Export, and follow the steps.

    I think you have reached the state of finding the USER to ROLE relationship
    Take the output to an excel,
    COPY just the roles column exactly in order do not rearrange , use AGR_1251 like other experts have mentioned
    insert the roles copied from you buffer and execute, the output will have multiple entries for each role take the output to an EXCEL again , make it unique and match the outputs between both the EXCELS.
    It will be a little tricky to do this, but I think you are proficient in MS EXCEL.
    This is one of the ways to do , there are many other ways to do it.
