How to tell if movie is fully loaded

I'm used to some outdated ActionScript techniques, I fear. I
have a little loop at the start of my movie, and I only want to
continue past the loop when everything is loaded. (In this case, to
make an executable with many photos play more smoothly.)
root.framesLoaded generates an error. What's the proper
method? I'm not having much luck with Search (here or in the docs).
Thanks in advance!

a good two or 3 hour charge 1st time is sufficient to fully charge phone and keep an eye on it from there
Bear in mind that the battery doesn't reach its optimal capacity until it has been fully depleted and charged 3 or 4 times
If  i have helped at all a click on the white star below would be nice thanks.

  • How to get a movie to be loading in background?

    Hi, I posted this in the General forum, but it wasn't getting
    much interest. I'm hoping someone here can help.
    We're designing a portfolio site. It will have a fairly large
    amount of large bitmap images that need to look really good.
    I'll make another post to make sure I have the very best
    optimization techniques down. But to keep quality up, some movies
    may just end up being fairly large (though I'm not sure how 'large'
    is defined these days with broadband).
    - But I'm wondering if/how to have a movie(s) 'preload' in
    the background so that when it is called up, it is all or mostly
    loaded in the browser cache?
    Basically, we've divided each of the sections of the
    portfolio up into separate movies, with a various number of large
    images each. These are called up when you click their text link in
    the landing page area. I was hoping that as people hit the landing
    area and are reading the text or looking over the links, a couple
    of our larger-sized movies could be loading in the background so
    they don't have to wait as long if/when they click the link to that
    movie.
    Thanks. This is a bit new to me, so I want to make sure it's
    done as well and efficiently as possible. It needs to function and
    look very professional.

    Thanks for the reply.
    Just a couple questions for clarification.
    - Is loading these movies with an _alpha zero in our initial
    'landing page' movie (which does not have a preloader) going to
    cause this initial movie to have problems (with
    slowdowns/chunkiness)?
    - Are you saying to assign _alpha to the target within the
    initial 'landing page' movie or to the movie you are loading?
    - Any opinions on the efficiency differences between doing
    this with the _alpha or the _level commands?
    - Any other methods?
    Thanks again for the help!

  • How to tell if an Image is loaded using Toolkit.getImage()

    If I use Toolkit.getImage(url) it always returns an Image object, no matter if the image located at that url is a correct image or not.
    The w/h is always -1, -1 right after loading (since it hasn't been loaded completely of course).
    Anyone know how I can tell if a correct image is loaded or not, without adding a MediaTracker?

    Why don't you want to use a MediaTracker? It is by far the most convenient way to do what you want to do.

  • How to tell your movie clips apart

    I have a dumb question. I have several video segments that have subtle differences. I've given them names that reflect this. To my amazement, this information does not seem to be recorded in iMovie 09. Is this application targeted towards illiterates? It must be, because previous versions had quite a bit of information stamped on the clip as it sat in the bin. I don't see it in iMovie 09 and I've looked everywhere. I really need this information and am dumbfounded it is not easy to find. It's like hiding the name of the file you are working on. Can anyone tell me where the name of each clip is located in iMovie 09? Thanks.

    In previous versions of iMovie you could double click on a clip and it would give you its information. The clip name was also right on the clip in the "bin." It is absurd to change this. I don't see how video is fed in--via a camera or otherwise--has anything to do with these missing features. What if you fed in a dozen video clips from your vacation, but they all had similar first frames. They would all look the same in iMovie. How would you put them in chronological order if you didn't put them in that way?
    As I move through I see even more missing features. I don't see how to name the clips in the Event Library. When I import clips they are not identified in the Library! They are just nameless items in the bin. The "Inspector" tool is nice, but why not include the name. Also, I see no way to edit the clips. What happened to the tools like "split at tape head" and other ways to delete portions of a clip? I don't see any of that in iMovie 09. Am I missing something easy or is this product really degraded from its previous versions. It almost looks like they want to force you to by FCP or Express. I mean after all, if all iMovie does is slap clips end to end I can do that in QuickTimePro. Thanks for any help. Sorry I'm so frustrated by this product. I expected it to be better.

  • Hello please, somebody knows how to unload a movie clip recently loaded and back to the main SWF?

    Good night guys!
    I come humbly ask for your help ...
    I have an extensive animation .. A kind of map of Brazil with 33 stores in 4 states distributed .. Clicking on the desired state, it expands and appear their stores. Only the animation and the first store were enough to generate a SWF comporting 3 megabytes .. So I decided to use an external SWF to every single stores, otherwise would be too heavy ..
    My goal is: Every shop clicked, loads a new external SWF which occupies the entire screen .. So if I wanted to return to the main SWF with button, how should I proceed?
    I have found an article that shows communication between two SWF, however, some steps did not work and I want it to button.
    Please, if you know, needs to be in ActionScript 3.
    Can somebody help me?
    Thanks, I hope to answer

    Olá Felipe, tudo bem com você?
    In order to unload content loaded into a Loader object you can use either the unload() method or the unloadAndStop() method. The difference between them is that unloadAndStop() will unload the loaded SWF and try to stop executing any code that it was running including animations, sound and event listeners.
    If you wanto to call the unload() or unloadAndStop() methods from the loaded SWF you can use its loaderInfo.loader property to reference the Loader object that loaded it.
    It could be someting like this:
    this.closeButton.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, this.handleClose);
    protected function handleClose(event:MoueEvent):void {
         this.loaderInfo.loader.unloadAndStop();
    You can pass a Boolean parameter to unloadAndStop() to indicate if Flash's garbage collector should be run ont the unloaded SWF in order to free up memory. Considering the size of your SWFs, this could be a good option. The downside is that there is a performance penalty and in my professional experience, CPU is still a resource that is more scarce than memory, so use with care.
    Hope this helps.

    Rui

  • How to tell when iPhone is fully charged?

    I'm running version 1.1.2. The battery is green while charging. As charge increases, the green continues to fill the battery. Eventually, it fills the entire battery. Is there some indicator to let you know the iPhone has reached a full charge or once the green fills the entire battery is it charged?

    The only thing I do to optimize the battery is let the battery drain untill the phone turns off and chrage it over night leaving it turned off, and I do this about once every other month, never had it turned off for that long afterwards.
    Others reported that having it off helped their battery life but mine works according to the usage stats posted by Apple so I do not feel the need to do anything else.

  • Getting a movie to be playable before it fully loads

    I'm building a site with quicktime movies. How can I get the movie to be playable while it's still loading? Right now you have to wait for the movie to fully load before you even see the controls.
    thanks.
    David

    The "fast start" (progressive download) feature is both a property of the file and a special (autoplay="true") html tag of the Web page. It is an option found at export that many users overlook. It is also "turned off" by most of the default iMovie exports.
    Using .Mac servers the Homepage feature defaults to autoplay="true" while iWeb software uses "false".
    You would need to edit the html page code (after the file is published) when using iWeb to alter the tag code. New to iWeb 1.1 (and 1.1.1) is that they place the .mov file into a .js (javascript) file. It's hard to find for many users.
    Maybe, if you explained where your page code is hosted, we could examine it and make some better explanations.

  • How can I tell if movie fully downloaded on i-pad

    How can I tell if movie rented from I-tunes fully downloaded  on my Ipad? It only loads partially and then goes to sleep. Continues downloading when I wake it up. Forgot to finish and today I don't see any download pending. But I'm sure it didn't finish. How can I check without starting the movie - which only has 24 hours to view?

    yes - it shows in the Video app - but it did yesterday too when it wasn't fully downloaded and the bar graph showing downloading progress was still moving.

  • How Can I make a movie on my iweb begin playing before it is fully loaded?

    OK, Forgive me in advance. I am a new "Mac Man". 5 days and counting. I just published a web site using iWeb 09. I have a 12 meg movie on the page. The movie doesn't begin playing until it fully loads (takes about 60 seconds). How can I make the video play as the rest of it loads. (like it does on Youtube)?
    Thanks in advance,

  • How do I fix my FF when it doesn't fully load pages and won't scroll up or down when I press Page Up and Page Down?

    FF won't load pages, nearly at all. Some websites will partially load, but then will suddenly stop. In order to get the pages to fully load, I'll click Tools and open the Options menu, then I'll close the menu, resulting in the webpage loading up slightly more. I'll need to do that several times before FF will fully load a page. I can't even scroll at all through any of the webpages either when this happens. I'll hit Page Up or Page Down on my keyboard and nothing will happen. Also, I'll click other tabs on the browser and they won't move forward unless I do Tools > Options, and then close Options again.
    == This happened ==
    Every time Firefox opened
    == Several days ago.

    Seems like you have the accessibility VoiceOver feature turned on.
    Triple click the home button and try going to Settings>General>Accessibility and turn VoiceOver off. You may have to use three fingers to scroll the screen to get there. If problems see the following for how to turn off via iTunes:

  • How to tell when the load to start

    Hi,
    don't even know where to look for the answer, so I apologize
    if this topic was already opened. Here's my case. In main flash
    movie load another flash movie, where different items come from
    left and right side of the screen (full screen window). After a
    click on one item, all the item go the sam eway off the screen and
    another movie loads. Question. How to tell the flash that first all
    the items must go off the screen and then unload that movie and
    load the new one?
    THX for the help

    A rather ghetto way of doing it:
    #!/bin/bash
    log="/var/log/uptime-poll"
    pollsecs=10
    echo $$ > /var/run/uptime-poll.pid
    if [[ -f "$log.tmp" ]]; then
    echo "Lost power at: `cut -d';' -f2 "$log.tmp"`" >> "$log.log"
    fi
    while :; do
    date +'%s;%D %T' > "$log.tmp"
    sleep $pollsecs
    done
    ...and in /etc/rc.local.shutdown...
    killall $(cat /var/run/uptime-poll.pid)
    rm /var/run/uptime-poll.pid
    rm /var/log/uptime-poll.tmp

  • Movie plays before fully loaded although preloader is set to 100%

    Hello,
    I have a Captivate swf (ca. 4 MB) to be published online. The default swf preloader is set to 100%. However, when the first screen appears and I immediately click on a link that points to a slide close to the end of the movie, the link doesn't work properly. Only after waiting a certain amount of time the link works, indicating that the swf hasn't fully loaded when the first screen appears.
    How can I make sure that the preloader works as intended?
    Best regards
    Jan

    Hi Jan,
    Will it be possible for you to share a sample captivate file where-in we could see the issue. Saying so since we are not able to reproduce your issue here.
    You can zip your file -> upload on acrobat.com(its free) and then share the link with us..or write to me at maanand (at the rate of ) adobe (dot) com.

  • How to stop a movie clip that is loaded dynamically

    Hello Flash Forum,
    I am using the loadmovie method to load a swf file into a
    movie clip "container"
    Code snippet:
    var mc:MovieClip = this.createEmptyMovieClip("mc",1);
    mc.loadMovie('bbc_module1.1.swf','bbc_audio',container.getNextHighestDepth(),
    {_x:300.8, _y:240});
    mc._lockroot = true;
    The movie clip I load does not have a stop action in frame 1,
    but comes up playing (audio and images). I am not using video. It
    is a series of still images synced to the audio.
    I would like to be able to load the movie clip, stop it from
    playing, and by clicking buttons, get it to play, pause, etc like
    the buttons and skin on the FLVPlayer.
    Any tips on how to do this?
    Thanks,
