How to tell what packages have recently run

Occasionally, after start up, I'll see something that looks like a package that quickly runs. I have no idea where to look for information to figure out what ran. I've ran searches trying to find out how to tell what packages have recently run but have not found anything useful. If anyone knows or has any ideas on what I can do to figure that out, I'd love the help.

You are welcome. Based on my experiences, the only time I look at Console is when something is not working. You could get overly engrossed trying to figure out what everything means.

• How to tell what files have NOT been Javadoc'd.

Is there a way to generate a list of filenames that lists out what has not been Javadoc'd? I have tons of Java files, and I need to produce a list to give back to the developers, that tells that what they haven't Javadoc'd.
Thanks.

Our NetBeans IDE guru found an Ant solution. But it leaves a lot to be desired. That's why I'm posting this in the Forum. His solution is as follows.
The build.xml file was added the following:
<target name="Build Javadoc Report - Files">
<property file="nbproject/project.properties"/>
<property file="nbproject/private/private.properties"/>
<echo message="Building Javadoc package information"></echo>
<delete dir="dist/JavadocReport"></delete>
<mkdir dir="dist/JavadocReport"></mkdir>
<javadoc doclet="com.sun.tools.doclets.doccheck.DocCheck" docletpath="doccheck.jar" maxmemory="256M" destdir="dist/JavadocReport">
<packageset dir="${src.dir}" includes="*/**"/>
</javadoc>
This generates some reports. But the information is broken down in a way that it's not easy for a number of developers to sift through. The toplevel report is very top level, and you can't see the whole tree sturcture of what is not Javadoc'd in one swoop.
So I'm sifting through the list that this Ant script generates, and figurin out what who wrote what file, and what files are related to the top level report. For instance, the report might tell me that file cxxi.apisupport.pythonsupport has 5 files without Javadocs. But I have to click on "cxxi.apisupport.pythonsupport" to find out what the 5 files are, as these are listed in a separate part of the report. I think this is as close as I will get, with the limited knowledge I have at the moment about Javadocs, scripts, python and all this stuff.
have a nice weekend!

The time capsule though blinks amber and the Airport Utility shows blinking amber light and has a red circle with the number 1 in it.
There is an error.. probably trivial.. firmware update, default password..
Open the airport utility and find out what the error is.
Simply click the TC and see status in the summary page.. it will list all the errors and what you should do.. fix or ignore them. ie this TC has an error.. default password.. I chose to ignore.. when I "fix" the problem the LED goes green.
Here is additional TC.. it is blinking amber with faults.
Click the fault. eg default password.
You can ignore or edit .. if you click edit it will take you to the full setup where you can change the settings.
I ignored my errors and now it is green..

• How do I find out what I have recently purchased for the app store and iTunes I.e films, songs, albums

How do I find out what I have recently purchased from the app store and iTunes I.e films, songs, albums & apps?>.<

On your iPad, you can open iTunes and click on Purchases. Plus, when you purchase something from iTunes, you should get an email with the purchase details to the email you set up as your Apple ID. They sometimes take a day or two and with the volume of things being purchased with the millions of new iPads out there in the last 3 days, that may be a bit longer. I keep every receipt I get for future reference.

• How can I tell what songs have been purchased?

So, I've been going through some guilt and have been replacing copied songs with Apple Store purchases. However, some songs I am clueless about. Is there a way to tell what songs have NOT been purchases through the Apple Store (or, Amazon, for that matter)?

If you mean to check if one of your songs hasn't been purchesed by you yet, then one way to do it is going to iTunes and then to the iTunes Store. Once there, in iTunes 11.2.2, there is a column to the left labled QUICK LINKS. From there there are four imediate options: Account, Redeem, Purchased, and Support. If you click on purchesed, it will show you the songs you have bought from apple. Once you have clicked purched, there is also an option on the top right hand corner to show all of your purcheses or just the ones that are not on your mac.
Hope this is what you were looking for.

• Amber Update: How to tell if you have it

I just got a replacement 928 and it went through some updates and now shows the phone is up to date. I have some of the amber features like clock on the lock screen but do not have double tap to wake. In extra+info it shows nokia enhancements but does have any reference to amber. Can someone tell me how to tell if I have amber? Thanks in advance for your help.

Ok, so, here is what I found. Apparently, the issue is was in the replacement and the backup.
So, when I restored my replaced phone data, I noticed there were some downloads in the app store that had errors and weren't updating. Thinking this was just because I didn't have the Amber update yet, I left them, thinking they'd update when my OS updated. After a few weeks, I finally gave up, and removed the downloads. Low and behold, the moment I removed them, I had a ton of new updates, some of which were Amber features. Once I let the new apps update, I checked, and I now have Lumia Amber. Apparently, I had the OS, but the individual app features couldn't update, because of the download errors. Once I removed that, it was fine.
So, in summary, if you have replaced your phone, but it doesn't seem to be updating to Amber, go into your App store, and check your downloads page for any errors, if there are any, it should tell you on the front page of the App store. If there are errors. Press and hold to remove each individual error. Once done, you should have new updates available. Once those updates are done, you should now have Lumia Amber.
Good Luck :-)

You can check the purchase history on your account via the Store > View My Account (Store > View My Apple ID on iTunes 11) drop-down menu option on your computer's iTunes (though I'm not sure if that shows in-app purchases and/or auto-renewing subscriptions) - you should seea Purchase History section on that page, with a View All link to its right

• How to tell what template is applied to a Framemaker file?

I'm new to Framemaker...so please excuse if this is a silly question.
We are trying to figure out how to tell what template has been applied to a Framemaker file. We are using the structured view in Framemaker 7.2.
Perhaps I am thinking too much like a Microsoft Word user -- in which case I can look at what template has been applied to a document.
Does Framemaker work the same way -- or are templates associated with Framemaker files in some other way?
Thank you --
J-Ha

J-Ha,
FrameMaker works differently. Strictly speaking, there is no way to tell which template was used last. A FrameMaker template is just a FrameMaker document which you call "template". Using File > Import > Formats you can import all or selected formats from one document to another. The main benefit: Each document is completely self-contained and does not require any other document.
Many solutions I know of include a user variable named something like "template-version" into their template document or put the version information on one of the reference pages. When importing user variables or reference pages, this can tell you version imported last.

• How to tell what version of htmldb is running?

A while back I installed htmldb (now application express) on AIX 5.2.
I think I used the Companion CD 10gR2 so thought that I had installed version 2 of htmldb. But when you log in it appears to show that version 1.6 is running.
Is there a way I can tell for sure which version I have?

David,
The 10gR2 companion CD has 1.6 on it. 2.0 is a separate download.
See: http://otn.oracle.com/apex
The version number you see at the bottom right on the login screen is what you have installed.

• How to tell what OSX I have, while booted into BootCamp

Hello everybody. I'm currently booted into my Windows BootCamp partition, but have read access to the OSX partition. How can I tell what version of OSX I have while staying booted into my BootCamp Windows session. Is there a file I can look at on the OSX partition that has this info?
I know the easy answer is to boot into the Mac side and just look in About This Mac, but I can't reboot right now.

Open the file /System/Library/CoreServices/SystemVersion.plist in any text editor. If needed, copy it to the Windows partition and change the copy's extension to txt.

• How to tell what generation ipod you have

Is there a way to tell what generation ipod you have? I have a 2 GB ipod Nano and I want to buy a CD player that also plays music from your ipod, but it only supports 2nd generation and up.

There is a chart here, but if your Nano is plastic on front (white or black) and chrome on the back it is a 1st Generation, if it is all aluminum front and back and tall and thin it is a 2nd Generation, if it is aluminum on the front, chrome on the back, and sort of short and squatty it is a 3rd generation.

• How to tell what was the latest patch installed on VMware ESX Server 3i, 3.5.0, 207095

Hello Guys,
I have been running an old server that was installed as a test system on a DELL workstation - Optiplex GX620 (32 bit).
During the installation I had to confirgure the file: /usr/lib/vmware/installer/Core/TargetFilter.py to change the following line:
"return interface.GetInterfaceType() == ScsiInterface.SCSI_IFACE_TYPE_IDE" to read:
"return interface.GetInterfaceType() == ScsiInterface.SCSI_IFACE_TYPE_ISCSI" this made it worked and I have been using it for 3 years now. However, at this time I was hoping to update it with the latest patches and updates and I cannot figure out if I have ESXi or just ESX, nor what was my last update and what is required next.
I have used this command to get the following output:
# vmware -v
VMware ESX Server 3i 3.5.0 build-207095
... I believe the 3i indicates that I have an ESXi 3.5.0 but is build-207095 the same buid as ESXi 3.5.0 Update 5?
If not, how do I go about updating it? What is the KB # I should download?
I can manage it using vSphere Client 5.5 and I can SSH into it using Putty.
Note: When I run... "# esxupdate --bundle=ESXe350-201302401-I-SG.zip update" from within the folder where its at in the datastore, nothing happens... just a new line is scrolled.
Also...

... is there any further update for this system? I believe so as the Heartbleed patch etc. was not around when I was installing this server back in 2010.

Hello Richardson Porto,
I wanted to tell you that I appreciate the help so far.
Also wanted to point out to you, that the KB indicated above is older than Update 5, which from your instructions is what I have installed. That KB is for U2.
Now, the document definitely has step by step instructions on installing, querying etc. But my problem is ... NOT ALL COMMANDS WORK FOR ME!
This is why I am here because all the instructions I have been reading does not work with my flavor of ESX 3.5.0, 207095... WHY? It has me stumped.
For example, here are some commands the doc asked me to do and they failed: (Note that I had to unzip the folder on my windows box and upload it to /tmp using vSphere Client)
/tmp # ls
ESX350-201302402-BG      ESX350-201302402-BG.zip  vmhsdaemon-0

NOTE: All these commands were run sequentially and I just copied and paste it from my SSH Client (PuTTy.exe)
Is there a toolkit I need to install to have these commands or what really am I missing here? Host is in Maintenance Mode and the 1 VM that's on it is off!
I am going to start a new discussion with this NEW ISSUE, since the Heading of this DISCUSSION has already been SOLVED! Thanks again!
