How to test task of a workflow separately?

Thanks Surjit for the Txn but can you clear me one thing that if i execute a task then only the task is excuted or what ever the steps that we have after the step whether all are executed.

Yes the Txn which is suggested by Surjit is the righ one you can explicity execute the task only I tested it and checked the workflow log.

Make sure you pass all the mandatory parameters which are necessary to execute the method of the task that is included, otherwise it will through a dump.

I am new to Project Server and I am using Project Server 2013 On premises deployement. Please help me on how to achieve the below scenario:
I have a requirement where, the initial PDP will have 2 fields (Reviewers and Approvers), wherein the engineer himself will select who the reviewer and approver from the Lookup tables.
Now I have to start task process with these selected people for approval.
Say for example , engineer has selected Alice and Bob as 2 reviewers, then
In the workflow I have :
Start Task process with
Project Data: Reviewers (which is giving error as
[System.ArgumentException: AssignedTo at Microsoft.Activities.Hosting.Runtime.Subroutine.SubroutineChild.Execute(CodeActivityContext context) at System.Activities.CodeActivity.InternalExecute(ActivityInstance instance, ActivityExecutor executor, BookmarkManager

Then I tried logging the value of Project Data: Reviewers, It logged the value as Alice, Bob (which looks pretty good),
Then I tried assigning only 1 person as Reviewer, then also I get the same error.
So can anybody please tell me where I went wrong. Is it not possible to fetch the data from the values selected as Project Data from the Lookup tables ? If not then what is the workaround I can use to achieve this ?

Hi Paul,
Yes I am using SP designer for Workflows. And yes, You were right, there was a mismatch in the names of AD account and the Lookup table, now with 1 person selected from the lookup table it is assigning the task properly. However with multiple selection,
it is failing.
As Robert mentioned, the fetched value is a text as "Alice, Bob", which makes 2 usernames as a single text. So when I try to assign a task to this group, which returns value as "Alice, Bob", workflow fails to find such AD user, as it
is an invalid value.
So is there any way I can seperate this out to form 2 different username ? I checked for string extraction function in th Workflow, but nothing helped me for this scenario.
Any input will be helpful.

Retracting task in process workflow

Hi experts,
I'm currently working on how to retracting task in specific workflow.The situation is like this:
User A initiates form then assign it to user B (task B). User B completes (task B) then assigns to user C (task C).
In case user B forgets some details, he wants to retract the form from user C so that he can edit form and resubmit it.
What i can think of is to create a separate process and use a custom component to reset the status of this process.
From what i observe, before and after completing task B, there are changes in tb_task, tb_job_instance and tb_branch_instance (if you think there can be changes in other tables, please let me know, thank you).
I have tried to delete task C in tb_task, set task B's status from COMPLETE (100)to RUNNING(3) and it's complete time to null. User B can see the task but after complete, it never appear in user C's task.
I realized that after task B is completed, its associated job in tb_job_instance is deleted and task C and its job are created.
Is there anyway I can create a job in tb_job_instance to link with current process, so that after user B complete the task, the form is routed to user C.
Any comment will be much appreciated,

Now i'm trying to build a custom component to invoke the Retract route. Currently the task is assigned to user A.
but i don't have the password of user A. When I use Administrator account to invoke taskmanager.completeTask(204,"Retract"), I have this error:
com.adobe.idp.taskmanager.dsc.client.task.TaskPermissionException:
User: 43296024-F721-D137-5FDF-D01FF8A70682 is not assigned task: 204. The task cannot be completed
Is there any way I can complete the task without knowing A's password ?

Hi, we are migrated the portal from SharePoint (Moss) 2007 to SharePoint 2013 using Doc Ave tool.

How to test the rule if multiline container is passing to the task?

Hi Experts,
                  I am working on leave workflow. I have to get the approvers based on no of days of leave and leave type. I am getting these details in ITEMS_TAB internal table. I am passing this table to a rule. Now my problem is when I tried to simulate the rule I am not getting any input screen to enter the data.
ITEMS_TAB is an internal table type of   "PTREQ_ITEMS_WF_TAB_FLAT".
In the rule I have created a container by selecting the radiobutton "ABAP Dict. Data Type" and entered the above reference parameter is it right way?
Is it possible to test the rule independently if I use multiline container as import parameter in my rule? If so can anybody please tell me how to test the rule?

                 To copy the values I am not getting any input screen to input the values. I observed one thing that the type that I am referring in the Rule is a deep structure. Is this is the reason that I am not getting the input screen to enter the values?
I tested by creating aother rule by taking a field for that rule I am getting the input screen to simulate the Rule.
Can you please suggest if the rule will not work then what I have to do? without the rule how can I get the agents?

How to change an already saved TASK in a workflow?

Can somebody tell me how to change the TASK of a workflow to "CHANGE" mode, after it's been saved? Here, I find that once I create and save a task, I am unable to edit it.

Hi Max,
what version are you on, I remember that using SWDD for workflow modeling is not advised for 4.6c or older versions. I even heard of workflows disappearing and other strange stuff. It's advised to use PFTC for it.

anyone who can tell me how to use the Interface IFWFTSKGRP (Start Task Group for Workflow Interface)?
As far as I understood the documentation it can be used to restrict the selection of workflows that can be started in the Generic Object Services. But the question is how to implement it.

(probably it's a bit too late to post an answer after 3 years , but I'll post it in case someone else needs it)
You should implement GetTaskGroup method.
The code should return id of the task group (otype TG, mantained in PFTC) that holds the list of workflow definitions.
Here is a sample implementation. It's taken from FORMABSENC business object. It belongs to SAP demo workflow "Notification of Absence". I suppose it should be present in most systems and you can see it in action.
begin_method gettaskgroup changing container.
DATA: taskgroup LIKE rhobjects-object.

We have a custom application with L+1 approval required for approval using workflow.
There was a publish for a nomination for team , Team has logged in registered for the published training.
Unfortunately, all my team mebers 5 of 7 were already applied for nomination.
The team was waiting for my approval, Finally we discovered - The tasks got deactivated;
We discovered that The Triggering Events that are deactivated

Hope you wanted to state that users have registered nomination when the event was inactive( and thus workflow didn't get triggered) and now you want those nominations should be routed via workflow.
The solution is to use SWUE transaction and re-create the event.In doing so, please be noted that the time at when nomination was registered(when the event was inactive) and time at when workflow triggered from SWUE would be too different.So, discuss with your team before doing so.

I have a scenerio where i have used BPM.

Troubleshoot: BPM(Integration processes)
First of all follw these steps to,these are general prerequisites of running Integration Process(BPM)
1) Check the definition of the integration process in the process editor (Integration Process -> Check).
The output area in the Tasks view must not contain any error messages.
2) Check that Auto-Customizing of the Business Process Engine was fully executed and that no errors occurred (transaction SWF_XI_CUSTOMIZING):
The status indicator for all entries must be green.
3) Check whether the RFC queues indicate failed or pending requests that may involve the Business Process Engine (transactions SM58, SMQ1, SMQ2).
If these Queue are not registered, Your MEssage Could be stuck there also.
Then you need to go to tcode
smq1/smq2 :outbound/inbound
And execte them maually to relase the messages stuck
4) Check that the contents of the XI runtime cache are up-to-date (transaction SXI_CACHE).
The status indicator for the XI runtime cache must be green.
Then check whether Runtime version was created successfully or not...
1) Determine the number of the workflow that was created for the integration process:
a. Search for the message in message monitoring (transaction SXMB_MONI).
b. Read the number of the workflow from the Queue ID column.
If this column displays the entry XBQO$PE_WS90100008, for example, then the workflow number is WS90100008.
2) Check in the XI runtime cache whether the runtime version was created correctly:
a. Display the XI runtime cache (transaction SXI_CACHE).
b. Double-click Integration Processes/Business Process.
c. In the Task column, search for the workflow by using the number you determined in the previous step.
The return code must be 0. If this is not the case, check the activation log for detailed error messages that will help you analyze the problem further.

Can not Deploy Task Display Form[Workflow] in 11g

I have created a human task based on the example 'VacationRequest' in the oracle complete guide for 11g.
i have also created a Task display form(workflow) for the human task, the workflow is a seperate project in the same application.
I am able to deploy the BPEL process containing the human task.
but when i try deploying the workflow associated to the BPEL process, i get the following error during deployment..

A process chain is a defined sequence of interdependent processes required to perform acomplex task in an SAPBW environment. Data maintenance tasks in SAPBW are notrestricted to uploading data. Aggregate rollups, index maintenance, master data and ODS activation, and a variety of other jobs are required to update data, guarantee best-possible performance, and maintain data integrity. Testing
We need to test the PC chains.
You need to test if the extractions are working fine, data is getting loaded into targets, post load activities like activation, rollup, compression etc are successfull etc.
We schedule / trigger the chains and monitor them. We ensure that all the process types are happening successfully.
One major area we concentrate on is to identify dependcies in the chain. This will ensure less erros and also reduce chain timings by a great extend. Dependencies should be kept to a minimum whereever possible.
Also in cases where we use events/third party shceduling tools to trigger BW chains we check that out.

Hi Sairam,
To test the PMS process, please follow the below steps :
1. Go to PHAP_CREATE_PA and select your template. Enter the details for appraisee, appraiser, reviewer ( if applicable ) and also the start date and end date. Save the document.
2. Go to PHAP_ADMIN_PA and select the template/appraisee id in the appraisee column in the selection screen and execute. Select your appraisal document and then select from Menu- Appraisal Document->Change Status and select your initial status and sub status.
Now you can login to Portal/R3 with the user and start testing. The substatus will move automatically based on your workflow. Once you complete a particular status say 'In Planning' you need to manually change the status again from PHAP_ADMIN_PA to 'In Review'.

How to transport changes made on Workflow Template to other cleint

We have make changes to Workflow template via tcode PFTC_CHG (Change Task), with workflow builder screen, we make changes on the standard task, work item text etc, save the changes to workflow template WS90000XXX. However the changes we make is not save under a Transport Request number.
How to make the changes on workflow template to save under a transport request and transport it to other client. ?

Hi Eric,
All development and customization of workflwo are saved in a transport request.
If while making the changes it did not prompt you for a TR then check the TR in whcih the task was created.
To port TRs follow the below procedure:
1. Go to t-code SCC1.
2. Select the transport request number and enter the source system (client)
3. Click on 'Including Request Subtasks.
4. Click on button 'Start immediately'
This would port the TR.
Please note to port workbench TRs before the customizing TRs.
