How to track the user who deleted the info object.

Dear Gurus,
In our BI system one info object has got deleted. If I need to track the user who has deleted that how can I track it(in which DBtable). And the complication is one user ID is being used by many people, in this case how can I track that from which machine the Info Object has been deleted(if there is any possibility to track the machines by IP address).
Kindly let me know if there is any procedure to find it out. Your help will be rewarded with a great honour.

Hi dear,
you have to go in SLG1 transaction, and then select
Object: RSD
Subobject: IOBJ_DEL
External ID: (put here the name of your deleted IO)
Then choose a time range...and voilà, you can find the user who deleted the IO...

Hi,
If the user has used the manage option to delete the contents of the DSO then the changed by field will be updated by the users name. In case a program is used for the deletion then it wont be the case.

Text in VA02 - how to find the user who added the text

Hi
The user is adding text in the sales order through VA02, sometime after creating the order. This is not making any changes to the existing data, but adding the text in Header Text.
When trying to findout who made the addition of text (not changes) from VA03 - menu - environment - changes ---it is not showing any details regarding this. Please guide me how to find out the user who made the addition of text in sales order through VA02.

          I think there is no option available to find the name of the person who added text to the sales order.
         If the person who creates sales order, should also maintains the text we can find the name who created sales order. I am sure that u might be knowing the way.
       Still for the benefit of friends who r not aware, in the sales order> GOTO>Header data--> Sales tab.

How to find the user who approved the workitem.

Hi experts,
I have created a parking/posting workflow.
When the user Approves, parked document is posted and BKPF table is updated with WF-BATCH as user name.
Now I need to find the actual user who approved the workitem for posting.
My plan is:
1. Find the workitem id using the BOR, company code, document no, year, task no.
2. Find the user who processed the above obtained worktem id.
Please let me know the tables for the above points 1 and 2.
Or let me know if there is any other way to find the actual user.

Hi,
To get the workitem ID with respect to a specific business object instance make use of the FM SAP_WAPI_WORKITEMS_TO_OBJECT
To know who processed the determined workitem either you can make use of the FM SAP_WAPI_GET_WORKITEM_DETAIL or directly read the table SWWWIHEAD and you can find the actual agent WI_AAGENT this is the field which says who has executed the workitem.

I have a question like this.........whether we could secure the users from deleting the work items by someone in the Project and also assigning a specific user to allow them to delete the idoc.

One of t he possible way is, ask the basis team to create users as Service Users and you can determine whether the login user is whether a service or dialog user by using the a bapi BAPI_USER_GET_DETAIL under the exporting parameter logondata with field USRTYP where if the logged in user is Service user then this field will be populated as S if the user is a dialog user then it will be populated as A.
Now in more efficient way of fixing this is get the list of users for whom you donot want to give the authorization of deleting workitems and assign the appropriate role for all the listed users...
for roles and authorizations i hope the basis team is the right team to consult....

Send mail to the user who logged the issue

Hi,
As it is currently the mail goes to the key user, which is a business partner. That is an organization. However several users are maintained under a business partner.
So now the mail goes to all these users at a status change. However can we only have the user who logged the issue getting the mail. Can you please advice me on how to get this?

Yes we hv assigned the key user as a business partner which is an organization,, This is also and requirement,
But since the mail is activated as to the key user it goes to all the users in that group, under teh business partner.
But when configuring this came across the Partner, in which we selected it as key user. But there were also other partners as Creator,Reported by etc..
I tried using both these but again it didnt work. Can anyone suggest anything?
Yes, when u assign the key user as a business partner and assign several users to it you can send multiple mails to users

i can't delete a particular record from a table while executing the delete command its showing an error specifying
that "ORA-02049: timeout: distributed transaction waiting for lock"

Hello Zerandib,
on Oracle level all you could find out is that user SAPSR3 (or whatever the schema name
is on your installation) deleted the record. It is not possible on Oracle level to identify
SAP users who delete records. So if the SAP system doesn't log the change, there is
no way of finding out via Oracle internal records.
The best you could hope for is to identify the time when some specific record was deleted.
You could use either Flashback Query, Flashback Version Query, Flashback Transaction
Query or Oracle Logminer to accomplish this. Anyway these procedures aren't trivial and
it is questionable whether the effort is justified for the result.

Need log of the users who changed the partner profiles.

Hi,
Some user has been changed partner profiles of the CUA configuration Setup.
It is displaying only Agent Name. They delete the Inbound and outbound parameters of the partner profiles created by CUA. So, I need to trace out the user who changed these parameters.
It will be appreciate if anybody can help in this issue.

I resolved this issue by deleting the partner profiles created by CUA in all child clients. And delete the Distribution model in all child clients and re-distribute the distribution model from Master client.
Now its working fine.
But I am not able to trace out the user who changed partner profiles. I checked in ST03N but i didnt get the information abt the we20. ( I am using ECC 6.0 version).
And in WE20 it is not showing any User ID who changed the partner profiles. I checked in following tables but I didnt find any changed details of partner profiles.

and, if you are confident enough, you can make something that suits your needs 100%. Or as a host in a
Flemish regional TV DIY show always says: What you do yourself is usually done better. Let us see what
you need to do in order to achieve this.
First of all you need data on the browser. This can be done via JavaScript and the navigator object:
appCodeName
The code name of browser (i.e.: Mozilla)
appName
The name of the browser (i.e.: Microsoft Internet Explorer)
appVersion
Version information of the browser (ie: 4.75 [en] (Win98; U)
userAgent
String passed by browser as user-agent header. (ie: Mozilla/4.0

Platform

You probably need some extra information like IP number. This can be done via the
request->get_header_field method.
As such you dont need to retrieve this info every time if you have a single entry point like a login page. Just
put it in a server side cookie. Each new page will read this cookie and save this info together with the page
name, user id, eventual parameters, etc. into the log. Now I talked earlier about the visitor concept. This is
also an ideal place to implement this. If you are only interested in returning visitors with a full day time interval,
you can for example determine whether that user has already used that application. If so, you just increment a
counter. If not, you have to create a new line. This method will also reduce the size of your table.
C.2 Showing It
The only thing you need to do is to analyze and visualize stuff. The analyzing stuff is completely up to you.
The following screen shot is an example where the total number of visitors within a given time frame is shown.
It also shows the number of unique visitors in that same time frame compared to the potential number of
visitors. You might find this of interest if you want to know how many (internal) users actually use your intranet
application. You can couple the user info to the department info and then you can figure out whether
department X or Y is actually using the application.
But I didnot get the actual idea of implementing this in my BSP.
Can you give an explanation for the above ?

2. Menu, Goto--> Import History
3. Menu, Edit-->Display More
A column Name User will appear, giving user who carried the import.

DBA_PRIV_AUDIT_OPTS :-Describes current system privileges being audited across the system and by user and who has updated what can be done through trigger which would send the information to a history table. If you have it ready ask your team..

How to find the User who changed the connection settings

Hi Gurus,
I am basically a BW guy but i am looking at your precious Guidance in this issue.
We have a situation in our BW production system. The job loads are working fine till now but seems like someone has meddled with RFC connection with R/3 prod.
The connection between R/3 and BW is broken. I would like to know if there is any way to find the User or some Log to find who might have medelled with the RFC's .
Help is greatly appreciated.

Which release are you on?
Option 1: Take a look in SM59 selecting the destination and there is a "last changed" information displayed.
Option 2: the table for these connections are often not logged for table change logging, but if they are... then try transaction SCU3 on the backend tables (table RFCDES is a good start).
(search for rec/client and recclient etc as search terms).
Option 3: Why would someone change a connection? Try to analyze what happened during the time period after the change, or even immediately before the change (audit logs, system events, server statistics etc). A simple check would be via SM20 to see who started SM59 immediately prior to this. A more complex check would be analyzing the RFC profiles in ST03N.
Option 4: On the R/3 side, you might be able to find the same auditable information as well (perhaps even the IP address of the caller?) Tip: The person might have created a dump... => transaction ST22.
Option 5: There are some other additional logging, tracing and control possibilities at a deeper technical level, if used or active at that point in time.
