How to transfer an FCP project to Windows Premiere Pro

I've tried to do the XML thing, and I have gotten a project across, but unable to find the media on the drive.
I'm using an external drive and MacDrive software on my PC, so the files are direct from the timeline. I've even used FCP's media manager.
I know there must be a way to do this, and I'm counting on the brain power on this forum to help.
Any suggestions are welcome.

PrPro does not have a "database" like say, Lightroom does. It does have a cache of files in a couple different places, but if you simply go to the location of the project file & delete it, and the cache files where there are placed ... you've deleted the "project".
Some people have all cache files put in one spot just for this ... they can quickly go & delete jobs once delivered. Often after using the project manager to copy files to a drive for storage, then deleting the cache files for that project. Or there computers would blow up from the gigs of material video processing on a daily basis entails ...

How to transfer edited FCP project back to miniDV tape

Hi to all. I'm trying this for the 1st time, and it didn't work. I have a feeling I'm missin some connection between my Sony GV-D1000 miniDV deck and the G5 computer.
I'm trying to get back to tape my edited version (non-compressed).
From FCP I went to File - Print to Video. The software recognized the deck and it seemed to be recording, but when rewound the tape and played it back, nothing was there.
Any assistance of course is highly valued and appreciated. Currently, I'm connected to the computer via a firewire cable (to the back of the deck with a DV connection.

Make sure you can SEE it on the Deck first.

A simple path is mac > firewire > camera or deck > rca cables > tv
Then start up your camera and tv, then open fcp.
Then go View > External video > all frames
Video playback should be Apple firewire NTSC (If you are using an NTSC set)
Audio playback should be Audio follows Video
Techinially, this should send synched video to your TV
If for some reason you can't view your timeline on your external monitor, there are a few things to try:
1) Make sure that the camera/deck is connected and powered on BEFORE you open FCP.
2) In the Final Cut Pro menu select AUDIO/VIDEO Preferences and make sure your signal is being sent out thru Firewire DV.
3) Go to the menu and select VIEW>EXTERNAL>ALL FRAMES.
4) Click in the % box above the image and select FIT TO WINDOW.
5) Go to VIEW->refresh A/V devices
6) Make sure the Log & Capture window is closed
If you want it to play in both the canvas and the external monitor you need to go to the FINAL CUT PRO menu and select AUDIO/VIDIO settings and make sure MIRROR ON DESKTOP is selected under the PLAYBACK OUTPUT section

First time working with Canon HG10 and the avchd format. The originalfiles has a .mts extension.
How do I make small good looking Flash-files out of Media Encoder? It almost seems as they are getting bigger than the original files. Could this be right? Are you supposed to render twice? To another format first? Is 1080i too big to handle? I love the footage but it's been nothing but trouble learning about this fomat and to find a "recipe" that work. From Cam to PC to edit to...yes! I just want to deliver the video that I promised! customer wants Flash. What's the catch?
If anyone has figured this out, please help me. I'd be greatful.

Since I'm the first one to edit something for this company I can pretty much set the standards. (The problem is that I need guidlines with this too. What's standard? I'm a bit lost with the aspect ratio, since I've mainly has been working with television and tapes. 4:3, now it's a new ballgame. Big beautiful footage - but can i handle it right? I approved to the use of this camera and really believed it would be a timesaver, getting the footage directly on to the harddrive... like this is the future.)
It's to be embedded. About 3500 kbps, and aprox 360-400 pixels in width should do. When I try the presets nothing fits. Letterbox or black vertical edges. I feel lost in 16:9, anamorph, square pixels and everything. A bit tired here.

Wondering if you anyone knows how to transfer more memory to the windows side (partition) without having to uninstall bootcamp and start over...... I am running low on memory on the windows side but don't have either of the software disks to start over.

Too many people don't allocate enough storage space (memory = RAM) and make the partition too small.
Only things you can do is backup both OS X and Windows, remove the BootCamp Partition, reformat the full drive, and restore.

Windows 7 will download video just fine via the USB cable and your Import utility on the computer. Connect the device to the computer and it should open Auto Play and provide you a selection to import photos and video. The video would be saved in whatever location you have set up in Auto Play. Generally the default is the Video Library.

I can't tell from the screenshot, but it's possible you are running in the Metro version. Could you try this page using Internet Explorer in desktop mode to see if that helps?

Converting AE project into Adobe Premiere Pro project.

I have found the way to convert AE project into Adobe Premiere Pro project.
I use the following line of code:
app.executeCommand(app.findMenuCommandId("Adobe Premiere Pro Project ..."));
It works. But unfortunately it opens the SaveFileDialog window for the file name to be assigned.
I'd love not to see this window. I'd love to assign the file name programmatically. It would be great!
Is there any way to prevent the dialog window from opening?

Depends if you are on the cloud or not or the new 12.0 version. One way to do it is to import your AE footage into PP as pending on your puter....

I've been reading so many different forums on how to convert MKV to AVI. Finally, I summarised three solutions:
First one: HandBrake . This tool is a free and open-source multi-threaded transcoding app. It supports nearly any videos including MKV format and has Mac version and Windows version.

2. It doesn't support MOV as output format.

Third one: Online-Converter . This kind of converter does a great job on file conversion.
Cons:
1. Like most online converters, the free version of this tool only allows you to convert videos smaller than 100MB. It's too small for video conversion;
2.Your MKV video should be upload to the internet to be converted. This means the risk of pravite information leak is possible.
