In what OS? Windows or UNIX (which shell?)
In UNIX, under Bourne and K-shell, you'd set it to empty.
JAVA_HOME=
export JAVA_HOME
I think the C-Shell may have an "unsetenv" command, but it's been a long time so I'm not certain.
unset JAVA_HOME
or
unsetenv JAVA_HOME
Windows ... well, somebody else will have to answer that one.

I don't think that deleting the plist file will help.
Clicking that button sets the handler for a bunch of file types. You can't just unset it, you need to set the handler to something other than iTunes. Normally audio and video are handled by the Quicktime Plugin. You can restore that behavior in System Preferences:
System Preferences -> QuickTime (in the Internet and Network set) -> Advanced -> Mime Settings...
You may have other plugins or programs you want to use for some formats (like .wmv or .avi). Those programs should be able to reclaim the file and MIME types from their preferences.

Set a parameter or global variable in the beginning of your delete procedure. Check the value in the on-error trigger. If it is set then don't do anything in the on-error trigger. Unset the parameter or global variable just before you exit your delete procedure.

How to join the AP to the WLC

Hi All,
I am new to Cisco wireless solution and would like to ask how to add the AP to the WLC properly. All Cisco 1041 and Cisco 2500 WLC are new. I connect those AP and WLC to the switch without any VLAN tag and the AP can gain the IP address from our DHCP correctly. However, the AP 1041 could not join the WLC successfully. Here is the log. I really do not have any idea about that and hope someone can help. Many thanks.

How to change the value of request.getParameter("submit")

When I click on the submit button, control goes to a servlet file, where I can access the value of submit using request.getParameter("submit") which is the postLeave here. After accessing this value I want to change it's value or unset the "submit" in the same file.....
Like in php we can do this easily using unset($_POST['submit']) ........ but how can I do this in java servlet....? Is there any method to do this...........? If not, then can anybody tell me the alternative solution for this.

1) Instead of personalization, set ICX: Date format mask profile appropriately using sysadmin responsibility at the appropriate level.
2) If you have to use this new format just for one form, then use personalization to set the profile option in the when-new-form-instance. But unsetting it will be a problem.
I recommend option 1 above.

How to unset or remove ORACLE_HOME from PATH variable in UNIX

below is my PATH on one of the server :
oracle@bccdb1d[DUMMY] /optware/sybase/work/jaya => echo $PATH
/optware/oracle/10.2.0.2_Q407/bin:.:/usr/local/bin:/usr/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/ccs/bin:/opt/FXboks/bin
Now I don't want the ORACLE_HOME path to be there in $PATH. I tried below steps to unset it but wasn't successful:
oracle@bccdb1d[DUMMY] /optware/sybase/work/jaya => export ORACLE_HOME=''
oracle@bccdb1d[DUMMY] /optware/sybase/work/jaya => echo $PATH
/optware/oracle/10.2.0.2_Q407/bin:.:/usr/local/bin:/usr/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/ccs/bin:/opt/FXboks/bin
Now even after unsetting it I still see the ORACLE_HOME within the PATH variable.

either edit your .profile in your home location...vi .profile --this will then be in effect each and every time you login
or make a new profile that you can use such as vi .temp_profile - and then add what ever variables you want to take effect and then execute the profile eg. <. .temp_profile> --this will allow you to choose how you want the $PATH variable to react
or you can reset just the path to what you want by doing: export PATH=<what ever you want listed in your path variable> --this will need to be done each time after logging in

Help! How to get the Java Communication Package work in JDK1.3.1?

I downloaded a Java Communications API Win32 ver 2.0 from java.sun.com, and try to use it to do some programming to communication ports with JDK1.3.1.
I failed. When I tested with the samples (BlackBox, SimpleRead) coming with the javax.comm. It showed "no serial port found", something like that. I check the installation Instructions of the comm. package, it only described the installation under JDK1.1 and the pre-release version of JDK1.2. (and the installation of the same package in JDK1.1 and JDK1.2 are totally different.)I tried the specification with my JDK1.3, but it doesn't work.
Who knows how to install the Javax.comm package in JDK1.3.1? Please let me know as soon as possible. Thanks a lot.

This comes straight out of the FAQ that you got with your download:
Q: My application does not find any ports when it enumerates available ports.
Q: BlackBox gives me a message that says "No serial ports found!"
A: In order for the Java communications API to find ports the file
javax.comm.properties must be in the correct place. The preferred location
is in <jdk>/lib. See the installation instructions for alternate locations
and further information.
Installation is very simple. Comm is a standard extension, so copy comm.jar to %JAVA_HOME%\jre\lib\ext

Is there any rule for the JAVA_HOME variable?

Is there any rule or guideline about the JAVA_HOME variable regarding what should be its contents and how java applications should treat it? Or does it only depend on the particular application?

i add C:\tomcat-5.0\common\lib\servlet-api+jsp-api to the class path from DOS prompt, as show below:

You need to get jmf.jar in your CLASSPATH, either on the command line, in an environment variable, by putting a symlink in $JAVA_HOME/lib/ext, whatever works for you. Have you done that? Once it's in the classpath, you can run jmstudio from any directory with the command "java JMStudio".
Items in the bin directory are just shell scripts, run with "sh jmstudio" or whatever suits your shell (on Mac OS X, copy one of these guys and append ".command" to the filename to make him double-clickable in the Finder).

How to deploy the sample plugins

I am new to Oracle Enterprise Manager. I have got the setup running. Now, I want to deploy the plugins available under the samples. Can someone tell me the process to do the same. Although there is a readme.txt which has some instructions, I find that that instructions themselves are probably incomplete, it talks about emcli which I had to download and install. Can someone help me build and deploy the plugins in the OEM and see how they work or point me to the right documentation.

Finally I was successfully able to create the plugin archive:
Here are the steps I followed:
Login as oracle user
Download the EDK from setup -> Extensibility -> Development Kit and unpack the zip archive under the same user credentials
If it happens to be any other user you will end up with the same issues as above (and you will have no clue over the error similar as me ).
set the JAVA_HOME to the JDK
Follow the steps of files to copy as given in the README for the sample for which you are going to run create_plugin on
Now go into the bin directory of the edk and execute the command
./empdk create_plugin -stage_dir <EDK_INSTALL_HOME>/samples/plugins/HostSample/demo_hostsample/stage/ -conn_desc <ORACLE_DB_HOST>:1521:<ORACLE_SID> -repos_user sysman -repos_pwd <your password> -out_dir build
And the OPAR archive gets created. Hope this helps for those who encounter similar issues.

I don't know of a way to retrieve the administrators password. Are you sure there
is one? I know how to change or reset it from the command line. Then you'll
know what it is :)
I did the following:
%JAVA_HOME%\bin\java -cp %WL_HOME%\WLS\server\lib\weblogic.jar weblogic.Admin

-method changeUserPassword system patbumpus password
You can also try -method resetUserPassword and you don't have to know the original
password.
There is a problem with changing the administrator's password. You need to update
the boot.properties file in the domain directory as well which you can do in a
sed script. If you don't, then the server won't boot. Also, there might be issues
with changing the administrator's password and then being able to start managed
servers. I had a problem, but didn't investigate enough to rule out user error.
This is supposed to be all fixed in WLS 9.x.
I know that I didn't answer your question, but maybe something was useful.

Every webdynpro component has a global controller called the component controller which is visible to all other controllers within the component.So whenever you want to share some data in between 2 different views you can just make it a point to use the component controller's context for the same. For your requirement (within your popups view context) you will have have to copy the component controllers context to your view. You then will have to (programmatically) fill this context with your desired data in this popup view. You can then be able to read this context from whichever view you want. I hope that this would have made it clear for you. Am also giving you an [example|http://****************/Tutorials/WebDynproABAP/Modalbox/page1.htm] which you can go through which would give you a perfect understanding of all this. In this example the user has an input field in the main view. The user enters a customer number & presses on a pushbutton. The corresponding sales orders are then displayed in a popup window for the user. The user can then select any sales order & press on a button in the popup. These values would then get copied to the table in the main view.
