How to use 3D surface Graph?

always says "control could not be load"

When does it say this? Is it when you place it on the front panel? When the code is running? Any additonal information would be greatly appreciated.

I'd like to output a graph from the 3D surface.vi module as a regular
image (like a JPG or BMP). At this time, I'm going through an
awkward process of taking a screen cap, then isolating the image with
photoshop (painful and time consuming).

RIght-click on the graph and "create...invoke node". On the diagram, select method "get image".
Save the output of "image data" as JPG, BMP, or PNG using the tools from the "Graphics Formats" palette.
(The code shows would get a 24bit PNG image)

I posted in this thread an example that illustrates how to use the 3d graph to do surfaces ac lines.
The type of data that you present to the 3d graph depends on which mthod you are using. In general you want to present a set of points that need plotted. These points are defined by taking one value for each of the XYZ and sometimes W arrays.
Explanation:
You want to plot a surface that is defined by four point (X0,Y0,Z0,W0), (X1,Y1,Z1,W1), etc. You can present the values using (4) 2-d arrays each of which have four values at index (o,o), (0,1), (1,0) and (1,1).
Thie first point plotted would be the point that is defined by taking (0,0) from each of the arrays.
So as you can see from the above all of your arrays should be of the same size and dimensions for this to work.
Look at the Example i posted in the other thread and try some small experiments with small data sets before you jump to anything complicated.

LV 6.1, 3D Surface Graph sometimes collapses (doesn't work stably); plus blocks use of remotely controlled panel by LV run-time engine (error #26:"window.cpp", line 11518

1) "3D Surface Graph" does not work stably; sometimes it changes its properties (e.g. plot style) without me doing anything prior to that; a couple of times it lost a complete sense so that I had to delete the graph and install it again
2) I tried to remotely run a VI which contains a 3D Surface Graph in it. It turns out, the use of the "3D Surface Graph" somehow blocks the remote control over the panel. As a result of that, I got the following error message: Error #26: "window.cpp", line 11518 (with LabVIEW version 6.1).
3) Is it possible to plug into the 3D Surface Graph a few plots at
the same time since there is a built-in control "plot number" (somehow by bundling them up or putting into an array - I tried both but didn't work) or it can be done merely by use of 'case' structure preceding the Graph, where case structure decides which plot to pass into the 3D graph?

The following example will show you how to plot multiple 3D plots on a single 3D graph. Modeling your VI after the example may also alleviate the instability that you have been experiencing.

As far as the error you are receiving, it's difficult to say what could be causing this. ActiveX controls embedded on a front panel sometimes do not display on a remote client because they draw and operate almost completely independent of LabVIEW. If possible, try remotely controlling your VI with a client computer that has a complete installation of LabVIEW. The error could also be a bu
g. Try downloading the evaluation version of LabVIEW 7.0 from http://www.ni.com/labview. By doing this, we can determine if it is a bug in the older version that has been fixed in the latest version.

Please can anyone show me how to use pie graphs in oracle 10g or 9i forms using bean?
i also want to know how to put data in pie graph.. as u know in column graph for example we have an x-axis and y-axis,and in pie there is no x-axis and y-axis.. so how i can put the same data in pie graph.. and also i may need more than one value for the x-axis or the y-axis to use in pie graph so how can i do it??
i use set_custom_property to call properties in beans.

hi,
X0 is the offset and X is the multiplier. So the graph will start at a cetain offset and will aa to that the delta value times the multiplier.
e.g.
If you would have these normal X-values : 0 ; 1 ; 2 ; 3 ; 4 ; 5 and a multiplier of 2 and ofset of 5 you would get the result on the X-as = 5 ; 7 ; 9 ; 11 ; 13

How to use time values from graph or chart for other calculations

iam generating an ultrasonic signal of frequency 500k. In the equation i need the values of time axis of the graph or chart for calculationg the envelope of the graph. please help me how to use the x-axis time values.I have tried by writing in spread sheeet or by using arrays. here iam not able to get only 1 dim time values.

It might be the pixel grid if your zoomed in greater than something like 500% to 700%.
Go under View>Show and uncheck Pixel Grid.
Or maybe you have a layer style set in the tool options bar for shape layers.

How to use multiple tables in developing one Graph in Endeca Integrator

We have the requirement where we want to show the matrix for a particular entity which is coming from two separate table, there is a join which is possible on both the tables to get the correct data. But we are not able to find how to use data from two tables. We can create the SQL query with all the joining conditions but there are many tables which are involved so performance of query will be a problem. Is there any way in Endeca where I can create two data sources using two separate queries and while showing the matrix , I can join both the tables to get the matrix .

You have not mentioned the version of Endeca that is used for your application. Joins are recently introduced in version 2.3 and could be used for avoiding complex DEFINE analytical statements. For this to work, the data should be present in the same dgraph and a single data source in Studio should point to data from both sources.
These may not yet be the type of SQL joins that you may expect them to be as performing complex joins is also costly in Endeca. Hope you are not expecting to join huge data sets.
The best possible solution I could think for addressing this problem is to load denormalized data (at least for now) into Endeca and do aggregations in queries. We can denormalize data in multiple ways even using ETL tools not just SQL queries as the above comment states.

3-d surface graphs in Linux LV 8.6

I need to draw a surface graph from data where the z axis can take one of 14 values and the (x,y) coordinates range from 0 to 1, with no fixed intervals. In essence, I have 14 horizontal slices of a surface, with 50 random surface observations on every slice. How can I display this as a surface using LV 8.6?

Unfortunately, the 3D graph object in LabVIEW uses ActiveX, which I'm sure you know only works with Windows. However, there some work arounds that others have posted in these other threads:

Surface graph of a Fourier Transform

Hi there -
I want to make a surface graph of my Fourier Transform. My z-axis should be the amplitude coefficients, My y-axis should be Time and my x-axis should be Frequency. However, when I use the FFT vi I only get a z matrix of one column. Yet the surface graph VI requires a 2D array for z. How can I account for this?

I would delete the second "Transpose 2d Array".
Then invert the y-axis via right click on intensity graph>properties>scales>drop down menue> Fréquence (y-axis)

ALV Graphs: How to set line type graph as default graph

I need to develop a line graph. The fields on the X-axis will change dynamically. Some times they may be 10 field and some times they may be more than 100 fields. I tried with Function Module GFW_PRES_SHOW_MULT. But I can only display maximum 32 fields. Can anyone tell me exact program which helps me to full fill my requirement. It will be a great help if you could told how do display line type graph as default graph in ALV. In REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY there is a Exporting parameter MT_CHART_TYPES but this help you only to enter description for X-axis and Y-axis.

I would call GRAPH_MATRIX_2D with options depending on representation you wish
look at the program GRBUSG_1 to see how to use it
there you have some options to display bar chart, but you could use other values (complete list of options is available in documentation of function module GRAPH_MATRIX_2D - click on parameter OPTS in help display to see full explanation)

Hi,
Use the dynamic node and bind this node to the BG source node and series nodes.
Create a node and bind this node to the BG source and the value that you want to shown in series has to be bound to that attribute of the node and similarly with the category.
Check out for the dynamic node creation and bind this node to the BG.
