How to use CSACS 3.3 to authenticate users from multiple windows domain?
Can Cisco Secure ACS 3.3 be used to authenticate users from another Windows domain that is not a child nor a trusted domain???
hello, here is my scenario:
ACS 3.3 was installed on a member server on domain1. I need to authenticate and ultimately populate the users into ACS from another domain. The service already works perfect on just domain1, but now I need to authenticate users from another domain.
And adding those domains as trusted domains in domain1 is not an option.
Is Generic LDAP my only other option? Any config guides that you guys know with regard to doing this?

I am not familiar with sharepoint solutions, but as you mentioned about windows credentials I believe it refers to kerberos tokens. On this case you can take advantage of SPNego authentication.

My next issue is that I am now testing the initial login into the SharePoint 2013 server from a standard user (who logs into Domain A in the beginning of the day)
I have added myself (Bob) to the owners group in root site collection. owner = Domain_B\Bob
When I browse to my new site using IE 9 I'm presented with a not so helpful page that says, "Sorry, this site hasn't been shared with you." Thats it.. no chance to login as a different person. Obviously SharePoint sees me as Domain_A\Bob
and is letting me know that I have no access.
What I would like to happen is for SharePoint to prompt me with the standard claims NTLM login screen so that I may login to SharePoint with my Domain_B\Bob account. Is there a way to set this up without forms authentication?
Oddly enough, using Firefox I am prompted for login credentials, but typing in Domain_B\Bob does not work. If I do enter the farm service account setup in Domain_C, I am able to enter SharePoint with my farm service account credentials.

How to use time machine to migrate a user from one mac to another
I have a brand new iMac that was set up about a week ago which contains information from my old PC. I did a time machine back up and now I am trying to import that user to my new macbook air.
Using Migration Assistant, I imported from the user from the Time Machine backup (iMac) to the Macbook Air using my external hard drive.
When I restarted the computer, all that came up on the Macbook Air was the test account I created, not the user from the other Mac. The data is on the computer because the space on the hard drive was taken up. I just don't know why the user isn't showing up.

I have two domains, A & B. Domain A hosts all our user accounts; A\domain users. In Domain B we host our applications, ie, exchange, IIS, SharePoint.
I would like to have the default authentication into sharepoint be from users in Domain A using standard claims NTLM.
Domain B trusts Domain A (1 way)
Is this possible? How?

The LDAP test does show a list of all my users from Domain A. Are all of the failed ports required? I'm wondering since I did get results from the LDAP test.
With my new web application and site collection I cannot see any domain A users, although I have not run the two stsadm commands yet, should I be able to or do I need to run the two stsadm commands you previously mentioned?
My next question is around the two stsadm commands.
The first command:

1) What am I actually doing here?
2) Where will this password be used?
3) Is the password arbitrary or does it need to be a password for the user I will be using in the second stsadm command?

Any data sharing accross views can be achiveved by defining CONTEXT data in COMPONENT CONTROLLER and mapping it to the CONTEXT of all the views. Follow the below steps.
1. Define a CONTEXT NODE in component controller
2. Define same CONTEXT NODE in all the views where this has to be accessed & changed.
3. Go to CONTEXT NODE of each view, right click on the node and choose DEFINE MAPPING.
This is how you map CONTEXT NODE and same can be accessed/changed from any VIEW or even from COMPONENT CONTROLLER. Any change happens at one VIEW will be automatically available in others.

Can you authenticate users from 2 different AAA-servers for one specific tunnel-group?
I need to authenticate users from two separate AD LDAP databases on the same tunnel-group. I would like them to use the same tunnel-group and thereby using the same group-alias. I tried creating a new aaa-server group and putting both LDAP servers into group but apparently the ASA does not roll through the separate servers in the aaa-server group and will stop if the first server states that the authentication failed.
I also tried assigning multiple aaa-server groups into the tunnel-group authentication-server-group but that also did not work. I finally tried to create a separate tunnel-group and assigning it the same group-alias but the ASA will not allow me to assign the same group-alias to different tunnel-group. What is the best way to accomplish this without having to create a new group-alias that will show up and possible confuse the dumb users requiring this access? Please help.If you don't want ANY drop down I believe you can do it in a kludgy sort of way.
Eliminate all the group aliases (which are used to populate the dropdown) and make a local database of the users for the sole purpose of assigning / restricting them to a non-default tunnel-group which authenticates to the secondary LDAP server.
You can also send out a non-published URL that points to a second tunnel-group not in the dropdown.
Of course, we can accomplish this if the AAA server is ISE. ISE 1.3 can authenticate users to multiple AD domains (with or without trust relationships) or a single domain with multiple join points in the Forest.
The ISE answer makes me wonder - could you establish trust between the domains and authenticate users that way? -
Does anyone know how to use pages so you can export pdfs from the internet and automatically drag words from the document into the file name of the pdf (i.e., author, title of a scientific paper). For example, if I am downloading a paper by smith called "Surgery" that was published in 2002, it will automatically set the file name in the download to smith- surgery 2002. I have heard pages is smart enough to do this.

Pages can import (ie. Open a file as, or Insert a file into, a Pages document) documents in several formats, but won't rename the document as you describe. Documents that can be Opened (eg. Text, AppleWorks 6 WP, MS Word files) are converted to Pages documents, and retain their original names, with .pages replacing the original file extension. Files that can be Inserted (generally .jpg, .pdf and other image files) become part of the existing Pages file and lose their names.
It may be possible, using AppleScript, to extract the text you want and to Save a Pages file using that text as the filename, but that would depend in part on being able to identify which text is wanted and which is not.
How will the script determine where the author's name begins and where it ends?
How will the script recognize the beginning and of the title, an decide how much of the title to use in the filename?
How will the script recognize the year of publication?
For papers published in a specific journal, with a strict format for placing each of these pieces on information, or containing the needed information as searchable meta data in the file, this might be possible. But it would require knowledge of the structure of these files, and would probably handle only papers published in a specific journal or set of journals.
Outside my field of knowledge, but there are some talented scripters around here who might want to take a closer look.

You can't, simply. An iPhoto Slideshow can only draw from a single library, so you'll need to get all the images into one.

It's difficult to compare these apps. They have differences in capability - some are driven off templates. some aren't. Some have a wider variety of transitions. How do I move Elements 8 projects (slide shows) from a Windows XP computer to new Windows 7 computer that also has Elements 8 on it so that the slides shows will work (Elements 8 works well on the Windows 7 computer & I have done several new slide show projects on it)? I tried backup & restore without success. I have also found the .psess files and copied them to the catalog in the new computer but when the sides shows are opened none of the images or music is there. Only the text that I entered shows. I have even tried to replicate the file paths from the XP computer to the new computer to see if that will help.
UPDATE: By a stroke of luck I happened to find a catalog link (a PSE8D file) in the 'My Catalog' file where the imported data was stored. When I clicked on it to investigate what is was 'magically' all of my transferred projects appeared in Organizer. Upon further investigation I found that the projects transferred from my XP computer were stored in a hidden catalog that had to be accessed through the Custom Location option in Catalog Manager (accessed by clicking File then Catalog then Custom Location). No Windows or Elements search revealed this fact. I am appreciative that I just got lucky. The Adode/Photoshop company was absolutely of no help. If fact to me their structure is designed to avoid contact with their customers unless you're buying a new product. Their products have many good features (even though user unfriendly) and it's a shame they don't value their customers more once the sale is completed.
Bottom line: All of the projects (sideshows) have been recovered and work in my new Windows 7 computer. I hope my experience helps others. -

ThanksI want to know they exact dimensions though. You can get them by dragging to the 0,0 corner and then reading off of the ruler scale on the sides but its fiddily as you have to zoom right in and work it out. I know in photoshop there is a ruler but is there any other way in Elements?

Let see, you are using a proprietary file format that is only supposed to work with Outlook. It doesn't work for millions of Windows or Mac or Linux email users that depend on other email programs like Outlook Express, Thunderbird, Apple Mail, webmail, etc.
Microsoft has had to publish instructions so that their program's users can make themselves compatible with the rest of the world.

You are causing your own problem by not making a simple change in your program's options. Changes in the Outlook preferences can be made either Globally or by the Recipient.
Follow these steps in Outlook 2007 to turn off TNEF:
1. On the Tools menu, click Options.
2. Click the Mail Format tab.
3. In the Compose in this message format box, click Plain Text or HTML, and then click OK.
Don't know of a better way to fix this problem for everyone concerned. Even if you get the fix to work with your machine, you will not enable all of the people receiving your emails to be able to work with you. That's a losing battle that's been caused by Microsoft.
Now if Microsoft created a Mail plugin for other email programs like they do for their video format's and services (flip4mac, Office Live Plugin, etc), then I would consider using their email program to deal with my clients. Until then, I need to be compatible with many different programs in other countries, on different platforms. Maybe that's going to change when they bring out the new Office 2011 with Outlook for the Mac... -
