How to use CSS to customise ADF component

I'm not going into skin. However, I want to edit property of ADF component through CSS. How do we do this? Any url link that give complete documentation? (How to represent ADF Component in CSS)
E.G. I want to set af:column noWrap=true to all table.

Hi,
just a guess, but give it a try: customize the default Oracle skin as described in the blog post "Customizing BLAF for ADF Faces - easier than Skins for influencing colors and fonts by Lucas Jellema". You don't need to add custom skins, just edit the oracle-desktop.xss file.
Then you can add a "white-space: nowrap;" property for the appropriate style, which very likely will be AFTableCellDataText. It will be something like this:
<style name="AFTableCellDataText">
<property name="white-space">nowrap</property>

As Francois pointed out Oracle forms has nothing to do with html based technology. The way you can get the equivalent effect of creating consistancy in the way your objects are displayed is by creating a set of items you want and alter their apperance and behaviour and place them into object libraries (one library should do the trick). From there you subclass all of you forms items off these libraries.

The easiest way is to do this is to create a new "skin" for your dashboards or either modify the default. The location of the default folder is /res/s_oracle10/b_mozilla/views.css. The view.css file is where you can go and customize the classes. For example, if you want to customize the Pivot Table Row Header, search for .PTRH and then you can alter the existing formatting or add additional specifications.

If you are using ADF Business Components, you can right-click each application module, select "configurations" and edit the configuration you are using. On the initial page of the configuration dialog, you can specify to use either a JDBC URL or a Datasource - you just need to choose Datasource and then provide the name by which to access it.

some parenthesis is missing.if i remove the for update nowait means it's perfectly working.

ADF UIX: How to use MessageCheckbox to trigger a component to be rendered?

I have two UIX component:
messageCheckBox model="${bindings.Servicelocal}"
and messageStyledText id="mst_TextChange".
I want messageStyledText to be showed if messageCheckBox was checked.
I want to know how to set the ârenderedâ property of the MessageStyleText.
The following is my uix xml code:

I think you're on the right track here.
Assuming that the values for Servicelocal are 'Y' and null, what you could do is use EL to define the rendered component as follows:
rendered="${!empty bindings.Servicelocal.inputValue}"
or alternatively:
rendered="${empty bindings.Servicelocal.inputValue ? false : true}"
I'm writing this from home so can't check the above but you get the idea.
Note the use of ".inputValue" to retrieve the actual value of Servicelocal.
I note your use of the <firePartialAction> tag in the <messageCheckBox>. Please note I recently found a bug (I've raised this with Oracle Support) where the <firePartialAction> causes the running page to ignore any user input for some seconds (5 sec?) when fired from a <messageCheckBox>. Your mileage may vary.

I want to overide the renderer for ADF components, without using <default-render-kit>, I defined every render class. But It does not work.
Always told me: Could not find renderer for CoreOutputText[UIXFacesBeanImpl, id=_id0], rendererType = oracle.adf.Text

How to use one DC's view/component/appln in another DC

Hi All,
I am new to DC concept. I am trying to use one DC's component in another DC. I have done following steps.
a)Created two DCs A and B
b) DC A's 'New Public Part-->Entity Type(Web Dynnpro Component) I selected component
c) Add Used DC in B, I added A's component
<b> From this point onwards I am not getting any clues</b>. How do I call A's component in DC B. <i>Please guide. Any examples will be great.</i>

Just tell me do u want to display a view, use some context or use some methods defined in other controller.
So that i can help you in the same direction.
<b>Component Usage</b>
Suppose you have following scenario:
1) DC2 has component Comp2. In this dc you read the context a value and stores it in context named "Ctx_value".
2) DC1 has component Comp1. Here you want to read the Ctx_value from comp2.
In Comp2 create a method getValue()
public java.lang.String getProcessId( )
      return wdContext.getCurrentElement().getAttributeValue("Ctx_value");
In the interface controller of Comp2 click on properties tab and add reference to the cont2 controller. Now create a method here in interface controller to get the value of Ctx_value
public java.lang.String getValue( )
    return wdThis.wdGetComp2Controller().getValue();
Expose the Comp2 as public part now.
In DC1 add DC1 as used DC.
Build both dc's
In Comp1 create Component usage by name Comp2Usage to Comp2.
Now you can access the method getValue() from interface controller of Comp2.
wdThis.wdGetComp2UsageInterface().getValue();
This is how you can access a value of Context. Same can be done by direct binding.
<b>View Access</b>
If you want to access a view v2 in comp2 then goto windows in comp1 and embedd an existing view and in that select the interface view of comp2. The default view in comp2 can now be displayed in comp1.
