You can access the select many selection from a managed bean either accessing the ADF binding layer or by referencing a managed bean array property. So the use case is important. Hi, after have looked all the previous threads about how to use multiple selection parameters , I still have a problem;
I'm using Oracle BI Publisher 10.1.3.3.2 and I'm tried to define more than one multiple selection parameters inside the data template;
Inside a simple SQL queries they work perfectly....but inside the data template I have errors.
My data template is the following (it's very simple...I am just testing how the parameters work):

The 2 parameters are based on these LOV:
1) select distinct dname from dept (p_dep_2_param)
2) select distinct loc from dept (p_loc_1_param)
and both of them have checked the "Multiple selection" and "Can select all" boxes
The package I created, in order to use the lexical refence is:

As you see, I tried to have only one p_where_clause (with more than one parameter inside)....but it doesn't work...
Using only the first parameter (based on deptno (which is number), the p_where_clause is: p_where_clause := 'where (deptno in (' || replace (p_dep_2_param, '''') || '))';
it works perfectly....
Now I don't know if the problem is the datatype, but I noticed that with a single parameter (deptno is number), the lexical refence (inside the data template) works.....with a varchar parameter it doesn't work....
So my questions are these:
1) how can I define the p_where_clause (inside the package) with a single varchar parameter (for example, the department location name)
2) how can I define the p_where_clause using more than one parameter (for example, the department location name and the department name) not number.

the missing thing in your example is the fact, that if only one value is selected, the parameter has exact this value like BOSTON. If you choose more than one value, the parameter includes the *'*, so that it looks like *'BOSTON','NEW YORK'*. So you need to check in the package, if there's a *,* in the parameter or not. If yes there's more than one value, if not it's only one value or it's null.
So change your package to (you need to expand your variables)

How to use JavaScript Calendar with ADF Faces ?

Hi All,
Our application is running under limited bandwidth so that we want to use clientside/javascript calendar instead of the ADF Faces calendar (server side).
I already have the javascript that will pop-up calendar selection dialog when invoked.
Using JSP, this is working perfectly, BUT I don't know how to integrate this Javascript calendar with ADF Faces form.
How can I do that ?

I have a test report with department name as a parameter, hr.employees is the table.I checked the multiple selection for the parameter.When I choose one department name, the report runs well. But when I choose more than one department name, the report doesn't work.Seems the error is query's error. I have to edit query for the multiple selection? how to do it?Using dynamic where clause in the query?

Using multiple select lists in ADF

Hi,
I am trying to use a multiple select list in my JSP page, and have a method in the ApplicationModule be called when the Struts action is called. I am following the example ADF tutorials, where the method is added to the ApplicationModule class, then dragged onto the Stuts Flow diagram (to associate it with an action).
I am able to create a dyna form bean for the page that contains the multi select as a type "java.lang.String[]" (string array). I am able get that values that were selected in a normal action's "execute" method. For example:
msf = (DynaActionForm) form;
String[] statusSelection = (String[]) msf.get("multSelectList");
However, I cannot seem to get the "multSelectList" values into a method in my Application Module class. The "multSelectList" is defined in my dynaFormBean as a String[] type. I am passing it in as an argument like the following....
public void setParams(String multSelectList[]) {
This results in the method not being called at all. I am not sure why. Does this have something to do with a String[] not being serializable??
However, if I just attempt to pass other types form items to the method, it works. For example:
public void setParams(String simpleCheckbox) {
Does anyone know how to use multiple select lists in conjunction with ADF?

my multSelectList looks something like this:

I got this working by changing the signature of the Application Module method to use ArrayList rather than String[], then you can marshal the Struts FormBean contents into an ArrayList to pass up.
To do this, subclass the DataAction by using "Go To Code" off of the context menu and then override the initializeMethodParameters() method:

    //Get the String Array from the Form Bean
    String[] selection = (String[])((DynaActionForm)actionContext.getActionForm()).get("multiSelect");

best practices when deleting multiple rows is to do this on the business service, not the view layer for performance reasons. When you selected the rows to delete and press submit, then in a managed bean you access thetable instance (put a reference to a managed bean from the table "binding" property") and call getSeletedRowKeys. In JDeveloper 11g, ADF Faces returns the RowKeySet as a Set of List, where each list conatins the server side row key (e.g. oracle.jbo.Key) if you use ADF BC. Then you create a List (ArrayList) with this keys in it and call a method exposed on the business service (through a method activity in ADF) and pass the list as an argument. On the server side you then access the View Object that holds the data and find the row to delte by the keys in the list

By default when you create new instance og JTree the selection model is multiple selection. And if you want to change it you use next:
tee.getSelectionModel().setSelectionMode(TreeSelectionModel.SINGLE_TREE_SELECTION);
or
tree.getSelectionModel().setSelectionMode(TreeSelectionModel.CONTIGUOUS_TREE_SELECTION);
or
tree.getSelectionModel().setSelectionMode(TreeSelectionModel.DISCONTIGUOUS_TREE_SELECTION);

Using dialog box in adf face

I like to know if it's possible to use the dialog of adf faces to meet these needs
A) in case i want to insert row in the table :
1- verify if the information that i try to insert doesnt exist in database, if not a dialog must displayed to inform that we can't insert because the information already exist.
2- once the user click on the insert button, another dialog message must be displayed to ask the user to confirm the insert operation, the dialog will be an OkCancel type .
3- After the insert operation is complete, a last dialog message must be displayed to confirm that the insert operation is succesful.
B) in case of delete row operation :
1- a dialog of confimation must be displayed (OkCancel), after the user click delete button.
2- a second dialog message stating that the delete operation is successful.
my last question is if its possible to use one dialog message and change his parameter according to the situation.
that's all, i look for the simplest solution

actually I do not want the action to be triggered from the dialog box, because with this method I would have to create a popup object for each control, I'd rather create my dialog boxes from code. I have an example that can generate a dialog box to type information :

Question about the problem mentioned in subject.
I have configured that JNLP opens with 1.5 version, both versions are enabled in Java Control Panel Runtime Settings but when I try to start a desktop java console says:
Java Web Start 1.5.0_22
Using JRE version 1.6.0_07 Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM
And the opening of the desktop creates an exception:
Java Web Start - Invalid Argument Error
TooManyArgumentsException[ Too many arguments supplied: {C:\WINDOWS\Temporary, Internet, Files\Content.IE5\....
I'm trying to open my desktop with 1.5 version and other programs with 1.6 version. What is it that I still need to do? I'm kind of confused with this. Some of my collagues have succeeded with this and some doesn't, with the same configuration.
So the question is, how to use multiple JREs with IE8 so that one application uses 1.5 version and others 1.6 version?

To add to Scott's post. Option 60 would be useful if you needed to put certain types of AP on specific controllers. Otherwise, no real need to use it for the most part.
Though, I do recall an issue a few years ago that some windows machines had issues getting DHCP if option 43 is being returned.
Now, on an IOS switch, you can only configure one option 60 per DHCP scope
