How to use event structure of event data nodes event filter nodes in programming

I need manual of how to use 'event structure' events of 'event data nodes' and 'event data filters'...please help me....

I'm not really sure what you are looking for here. Did you do a search in the LabVIEW help for Event Structure?
The Event Data Node just returns information about the event, like control data, control reference, what caused the event, etc.
The Event Data Filters are just used in Filter Events. This allows you to discard an event or change the data that the event will recieve.

Event structure doesn't handle all events from external DLL source

Hi!
I use a DLL, wich handles an USB CAN transceiver device, and generates LabVIEW user events with extcode.h and PostLVUserEvent() function.
In my vi I use an event case structure to handle theese external events. The problem is, that if the events come too frequently, then it cannot handle all events.
The vi contains a couple of parallel while loops which process the incoming data from the external event.
In another application I use the same architecture, and that works fine. This one is more complex.
Do you think I have reached the limits of the program? Or what else can be the problem?
I have tried to use a queue in the event structure, it helped a little, but yet, not all the events are handled. My external DLL sends all event, so the problem is not there.

Thanks for the post and I hope your well.
It is not possible for the event structure to miss events - it simply queues them up. To keep the event structure 'in time' with the code you must ensure the code to execute in each event is minimal to allow the event structure to handle the next event.

What sort of events are not being handled? Could it be an issue your events are not configured correctly? Maybe if you could produce a small example in LabVIEW code, so we can just test the event structure configuration... someone working around the external dll call - which you seem sure is working correctly.
In terms of queuing to process the events in other loops is certainly an option to speed up the event structure. To do this, use a produce/consumer design pattern.

Or you could simply use a structure in your program to group like fields together. So that you could maybe clear them all at one shot.
For example, say that you have a structure with fields a - z.
data: begin of structure,
        fielda type c,
        fieldb type c,
        fieldc type c,
        fieldz type c,
        end of structure.
So in your program, it is now important for you to clear these fields, if you would have defined them one by one without the structure, you would have to list them all in your CLEAR statement, but instead, since you have them in a structure, you can some say....   CLEAR STRUCTURE.

The variable needs assigned a value, that's why you're getting prompted. When you execute the statement, it's not executing the variable and exec lines.
Having script output available in a grid would be an enhancement request.

Can I use Ctlref in a event structure with a mouse up event?

I have a large number of controls on a front pannel. I'm using a event structure that triggers the motion of a given motor when the corresponding control is pressed. However, I would like to avoid creating N mostly identical events, so I was planning on using a mouse down event on the front pannel, then retrieve the control reference using the Ctlref node (with gives "Reference to the control on which the event occurred" according to labview manual) and scan a array of references to find out which motor is supposed to move. However, it seems that this node does not appear (contrary to what the manual says).
I have found other ways to do what I need (I was thinking of using an array containing the coordinates of my controls and the coords node of the event structure), but I wanted to know why I can not find that node (which appears for "value change" event for instance). I'm using Labview 2013.

Bad luck for you. Mouse down on panel does not have the control refnum as it is not operating on a control. Mouse down on a control does have it and since you can configure mouse down events on several controls in the same event case, it provides also a control refnum so that you can still operate on the control in question.
This is probably also the issue Jeff might have seen. When configuring multiple events for the same frame LabVIEW will only show the event terminal that are present in all of those events. Terminals that don't exist in at least one specific event of the multiple events for that frame are not selectable anymore.

Firing events from a Menu using Event Structure - all in the same Event Window?

I have an ap where I have three menus, and several selections from
those three menus. I'm trying to keep everything within the Event
Structure, but it seems that ALL of the events fired from the Menu must
be contained within one "frame" of the Event Structure, that being the
Menu Selection (user) Event. In other words, if I have 16 events that
can be fired from the menu, do I have to put them ALL in this one event
frame?
I can't seem to use a T/F indicator within the Menu Selection (user)
Event to access another Event. For example, within the Menu Selection
(user) Event, I placed a boolean named X and can turn it on with a menu
selection. Now, make a new Event Structure to look for X Value Change -
doesn't work.

I use one event, Menu Selection (user). to trap all of my menu events. Use Item Path and / or Item Tag to figure out what menu item was selected then branch code based on selection. Wtih Booleans and menus you need to update the state of the boolean on the menu by setting it True or False. It doesn't automatically toggle like you would expect.

How to use a structure in CAF entity service

I want to use a structure as datatype of a complex attribute in a CAF entity service. I tried to use a dictionary structure created in the dictionary part
of the CAF project and added it to the public part of this DC.But I can't find it in the list of data structures while trying to mention datatype for a complex attribute in an entity service. Can any body suggest how to do it.

Hello Sudip,
You can create a complex structure by doing the following:
1. From the Attributes Tab, right click on your Entity and select "Create Attribute"
- Enter an attribute name and description
- select "Complex Attribute" checkbox
- select "Finish"
2. Right click on the newly created complex attribute and select "Create Sub Attribute". Do this for each attribute in your structure.
This complex structure can now be used in your CAF application and also CAF UI patterns.
Creating complex attributes from the data dictionary is only usually used for creating enumeration types. When doing this, you have to use the CAF enumeration editor to populate the values. The "How to guide" that Jan refers to describes this.

how will � add import I assumed based on your initial post that the renk and benek classes were in the same file. Apparently you're saying they are not. So for another thing, make your renk class "public class renk", and add the "public" keyword to the 3 members of that class. Then if your code still doesn't see the "renk" class, it would just be that you don't have the directory that contains the compiled "renk.class" in your classpath.

Okay. Accpeting that the design is not favorable and not advantageous when my program expands. I have begin to follow producer/consumer programming architecture.
Please find the attached program which is a simple producer consumer with event structure. I wonder how could I stop looping around the producer and consumer loops over and over again. I am pretty sure that this ENQUEUE ELEMENT loops back to the consumer loop and starts from begining.
I hope my first program in PC architecture with State machine and Event structure is correct.
