How to use IDoc. in data migration?

Dear Expert,
How can I use IDoc. method in Data Migration???

Hi,
You can use Idoc method in data migration using LSMW - Idoc method.
In LSMW select the Idoc method and give the Message type and Basic type according to your requirement.
Before that you need to maintain the Idoc inbound processing.
Goto LSMW initial screen,
LSMW -> Settings -> IDoc Inbound Processing. Maintain File port, partner type and partner no.
After maintaining the Partner no. goto WE20 (maintain partner no.) and add the message type in the Inbound parameters of the partner no. Also we need to maintain the Process code for the message type.
After all this settings we can use Idoc method for data migration.
The rest of the steps are same as other methods till convert data.

    Hi All,
    How can we do the data migration between Oracle Applications and SAP R/3 system.What are all the possible ways to move bulk data from Oracle Apps to SAP r/3 system.
    Provide any 3rd party tools which supports data migration and also pls rpovide the SAP's own data migration tools with supports the above feature.
    Awaiting for best possible solution.
    Thanks in advance.

    the 3rd party tool is ETL , you can use ETL tool and the prepare the load files then you can use LSMW method to upload the data to SAP.

  • How to use IDOC and RFC adapter in 1 scenario?

    We have AAA field and BBB field and we want to send AAA field to receiver sap system using IDOC adapter and BBB field to receiver sap system using RFC adapter. But how to use IDOC and RFC adapter in 1 scenario and how to map and  what are the design and configuration objects we require to create?

    To achieve this you have to use
    Two Interface Determinations
    Two Communication Channels (IDOC & RFC)
    & Two Receiver Aggrements.
    Use the Enhanced Interface determination and give your conditions there. Based on you condition your interface mapping will be triggered and data will be sent to IDOC & RFC respectively.

  • How to use Count with Date Parameters

    Hello,
    I am having issues using the Count() function in conjunction with date parameters.
    This is a Siebel report and in my report I have 2 date parameters(From Date, To Date). In a nutshell I am basically trying to count Opportunities that has a start date within the given date period. However I don't see a reasonable way to put my date parameters within the Count() function. The reason being is that I need to have a huge chunk of code to convert the dates into a common format that can be compared, and it won't even fit within the code block in my rtf template. I am not even sure how to put multiple conditional statements inside a Count() function since all the examples I have seen are very simple.
    Anyone have a suggestion on how to use Count() with date parameters?
    Thanks.

    Any chance you can get the date formats in the correct format from siebel?
    I don't know Siebel - so I can't help you with that. If you get the correct format it is just
    <?count(row[(FromDate>=date) and  (date<=ToDate))?>
    Otherwise the approach would probably need to use string function to get year/monthd/day from the date
    and store it into a varialbe and compare later the same way
    <?variable@incontext:from; ....?>
    <?variable@incontext:to; ...?>
    <?count(row[($from>=date) and  (date<=$to))?>
    Potentially you can use the date functions such as xdofx:to_date to do the conversion
    [http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12844_01/doc/bip.1013/e12187/T421739T481158.htm]
    But I am not sure if they are available in your siebel implementation.
    Hope that helps

  • How to use java.sql.Date ?

    hi there:
    I used
    ps.setDate(27, new java.sql.Date(new java.util.Date().getTime()));
    ps.executeUpdate();
    in my code to insert the current date to the 27th column of one table, this column's type is DATE, the database is ORACLE. However, I got the error like this one: ORA-01843: not a valid month.
    I think I incorrectly used the java.sql.Date API to cause this error. So anyone can tell me how to use it correctly?
    Thanks for the answers,
    Sway

    Other columns are all VARCHAR2 type;
    The oracle error message indicated that this is a
    date-related one. 27th are the only column using DATE
    So I came to draw my conclusion that the SQL might be
    wrong.Except that if, for example, the date column is actually at index 26 then Oracle might try to convert the string being passed in (at 26) as a date. But it isn't a date. So then oracle is going to throw an exception indicating that something is wrong - like that the month is invalid.

  • How to use the "target Data lines"?

    Hello,
    I want to program some DSP effects and filters with Java. I know to use the "Clip" and the "Sound" data lines in the Java Sound API, but it is difficult to me tu use the "target data lines" to do what I want to. So I have several questions :
    I have found how to convert a clip to a target data line. I have understood how to get the int from the sounds via the target data line. But, when I have done the operations with this int, how to do again a sound from the int? Wich method must I use to "convert the int to a sound"?
    Normally, oscillators and filters need to do an integration using the sample rate. Does anyone could give to me some exemples?
    I have found code sources for C++ for DSP. Where could I find the same for Java?
    Do you know a book about this subject, I did not find any?
    Thank you for your help.

    My idea is to create a byte array from the audio clip via a ByteArrayOutputStream, then to create an int or a float, then do the operations, and then do another audio line from the new byte array. Am I wrong?This is correct, I believe.
    This byte array will have a size of 16 (for PCM or wave files) surrely.Not necessarily. If you're using 16-bit samples for PCM data, then every 2 array positions will be "a sample". Your byte array will be 2 times the number of samples.
    You'll want to pull the data 2-bytes at a time and do basiclly:
    byte[] data_in = new byte[2];
    myTargetDataline.read(data_in, 0, 2);
    short sample = (data_in[0] << 8) + (data_in[1]);Then do whatever you want to your sample, and then write it back...
    byte[] data_out = new byte[] {
    (byte)(sample >>> 8),
    (byte)(sample )
    mySourceDataline.write(data_out, 0, 2);I used a short instead of an int because it's 16-bit data, so it's a short. PCM may be an "unsigned" short, but you'll have to check into that yourself ;-)
    To be perfectly honest, I've never done this so my sample code will probably need to be tweaked. But I hope it helps you get headed in the right direction, and gimme an update when you try it out.

  • Using XI in  Data Migration World

    Hi,
    We are thinking to use XI as a replacement to ETL tool in our typical data migration activities.
    1) Is it easy to do XI for data migration activities like converting Materials, Vendors,Customers, etc? There will be significant cleaning & profiling of data. Is that possible using XI?
    2) Do we still need to use staging database? Any architecture document or white papers covering DM-XI will be very helpful
    3) We have several legacy systems to convert in phases and I am looking for any best standards of practice using DM with XI.
    Any additional information on conversions with XI is very useful.
    Thanks,
    Subbu

    Hi,
    If u think only for data migration purpose Xi is not suugestable, since we need to convert large volume of data. We have standard programs also if u want convert data into SAP.
    XI is could be useful to fetch the data from legacy and post the needed information into target system by converting suitable format.

  • How to use the parameter "data" in the vi of Nonlinear Curve Fit

    I used "Nonlinear Curve Fit" to do state estimation. If I make the number of unknows a constant number, it is fine to code the fitting model for f(x,a). But if I want to code the number of unknows as a variable, how can I do this?
    Maybe "data" should be used here. But I just could not find any examples talking about how to use "data" here.
    Thanks.

    Hey hilary,
        Have you looked at the LabVIEW help for the Nonlinear Curve Fit VI?  Which version of LabVIEW are you using?  In mine, the VI is polymorphic, and you can declare the formula to be a formula string.  Then it provides pins to enter the input parameters programmatically.  Perhaps you could post a screenshot of how you are currently using the VI, and we could help more.

  • How to Use IDOC and ALE in SAP?

    Hi anybody,
                     I want Use Idoc and ALE in sap ABAP. What is inbound and outbout process of IDOC?
    Please give me sample code for Idoc . and Sample code for ALE.
    anybody Please tell me.
    Thanks
    Regards,
    S.Muthu.
    IT Dept.

    hi,
    Follow the link for step by step ALE/IDOC tutorials.
    http://www.sapmaterial.com/idoc_sample.html
    http://www.****************/Tutorials/ALE/ALEMainPage.htm
    An IDoc is not a process.
    The term IDoc stands for intermediate document. It is simply a data container used to exchange information between any two processes that can understand the syntax and semantics of the data. An IDoc is created as a result of executing an outbound ALE or EDI process. In an inbound ALE or EDI process, an IDoc serves as input to create an application document.
    IDocs are stored in the database.
    In the SAP system, they are stored in database tables. Several utilities are available to display the information contained in an IDoc and present it in different ways. For details, refer to Chapter 11, "Monitoring the Interface."
    Every IDoc has a unique number.
    When an IDoc is generated in the system, a unique number is assigned to it. This number is unique within a client.
    IDocs are independent of the sending and receiving systems. They can be used for SAP-to-SAP and SAP to non-SAP process communication as long as the participating processes can understand the syntax and semantics of the data.
    IDocs are based on EDI standards, ANSI ASC X12 and EDIFACT, but are closer to the EDIFACT standards. The size and format of data elements in an IDoc type are derived from these standards wherever applicable. For example, if a material number is represented by 20 characters in an EDIFACT message, the corresponding data element in the IDoc is also 20 characters. If there is a conflict in data size between standards, the one with greater length is adopted. This approach ensures compatibility with most standards.
    IDocs are independent of the direction of data exchange. An inbound and an outbound process can use an IDoc. For example, the ORDERS01 IDoc is used by the Purchasing module to send a purchase order, and is also used by the Sales and Distribution module to accept a sales order. Using this technique avoids creating redundant IDoc types for the same information.
    IDocs can be viewed in a text editor and do not contain any binary data. Data is stored in character format. When transferred to the operating system, an IDoc is stored in a file in text format and can be viewed using a regular text editor. However, the contents make sense only if you understand the structure and format of the data in that IDoc. In the Appendix, "FAQs, User Exits, and Miscellaneous Resources," you will find an example of an IDoc file.
    Hope this helps, Do reward.
