How to use loaded JVM instance?

I have made a browser extension for Internet Explorer - a vertical explorer bar. The main code for my program is in Java. I have written some native code in C++ also which loads the JVM and runs the Java classes. The java code runs fine when I run one instance of the internet explorer. But when I open a new window, the JVM cannot be loaded again. How could I use the JVM instance that has aready been loaded?
However, when running a new instance of the internet explorer from the start menu, a new JVM instance is loaded and everything works fine.
Would anybody please help me.

If I read the question correctly...see JNI_GetCreatedJavaVMs()

    Hi Mariano,
    I'm using JSP presentation too. In "Interactive Component Call" active i'm using "Use JSP presentation", but i only can define one instance variable, i need to add more instance variables. In "Advanced" option of this task, i have the argument mapping .. but i don't understand how to use it.
    I have a instance variable called "genders" of the type String[Int] (Associative Array) and i'm mapping this instance variable in "Arguments Show In" option of the advanced option of JSP presentation. In JSP presentation i have the code:
    <select <f:fieldName att="person.gender"/>>
                   <c:forEach var="gender" begin="0" items="${genders}" varStatus="status">
                        <c:choose>
                             <c:when test="${person.gender == gender}">
                                  <option value="<c:out value="${gender}"/>" selected="true"><c:out value="${gender}"/></option>
                             </c:when>
                             <c:otherwise>
                                  <option value="<c:out value="${gender}"/>"><c:out value="${gender}"/></option>
                             </c:otherwise>
                        </c:choose>
                   </c:forEach>
              </select>And in my screenflow i have the code:
    genders[0] = "Male"
    genders[1] = "Female"But when i run my application, i have the error: "The task could not be successfully executed. Reason: 'java.lang.ClassCastException: java.lang.Integer'."
    What's the problem?

  • How to use Load XML Data (Home Utilities Data Load/Unload Load)

    How is Load XML Data (Home>Utilities>Data Load/Unload>Load) supposed to work? Where is this documented?
    What table type/structure is required?
    How does this related to XDB functionality?

    It's not really documented that well in the XE redux documents (or even the base Apex Documents)- see http://download-west.oracle.com/docs/cd/B25329_01/doc/appdev.102/b25309/sql_utl.htm#sthref2530
    However, it's reasonably easy to use - you can export a table to XML format, and then reload the table with the data by importing the XML document. It has nothing to do with XDB, it's just a different flat file representation for unloaded data than CSV

  • How to Dynamically Load jvm.dll without setting PATH

    Please help, invoking CreateJavaVM via a function pointer is returning -3, but I'm not sure why.
    When my PATH is setup up to include the jvm.dll and I invoke JNI_CreateJavaVM() directly, it works fine. But I want it to work regardless of my PATH setting, so I am trying to use LoadLibrary and dynamically load the jvm.dll and then a function pointer to invoke CreateJavaVM().
    The LoadLibrary returns non-NULL result, the GetProcAccress() returns non-null, but when I invoke the pointer to the CreateJavaVM call, it returns -3. I know -3 is JNI_EVERSION error, but any ideas what is wrong with the code below, such that it would give me this error?
    Currently my code is as follows:
    typedef jint (JNICALL CreateJavaVM_t)(JavaVM **pvm, void **env, void *args);
    JavaVM *m_jvm;
    JNIEnv *m_env;
    SetDllDirectory(L"C:\\Program Files\\Java\\jdk1.6.0_20\\jre\\bin\\client");
    HINSTANCE hVM = LoadLibrary(L"jvm.dll");
    if ( hVM == NULL ) {
       // report error
    CreateJavaVM_t *pfnCreateJavaVM = (CreateJavaVM_t*)GetProcAddress(hVM, "JNI_CreateJavaVM");
    #ifdef JNI_VERSION_1_6

    sprintf_s(cpChars, "-Djava.class.path=%s", classPath); // classpath is defined elsewhere

    options[0].optionString = cpChars;
    JavaVMInitArgs vm_args;
    vm_args.version = JNI_VERSION_1_6;
    vm_args.options = options;
    vm_args.nOptions = 1;
    vm_args.ignoreUnrecognized = JNI_TRUE;
    pin_ptr<JNIEnv*> env = &m_env;
    pin_ptr<JavaVM*> jvm = &m_jvm;
    int result = pfnCreateJavaVM(jvm, (void**)env, &vm_args);
    // This is where the failure occurs. result is -3 for some reason here...why?For some reason, pfnCreateJavaVM is returning -3, but I'm not sure why? Any ideas what is wrong with this code, such that it would give me a -3?
    Thanks in advance,

  • How To use JVM (not CreateJavaVM)??

    Using JNI, I want to call the java class from C..
    Generally, I use "JNI_CreateJavaVM" method to create JavaVM's instance.
    when it continually call C execution file,
    it use much memory owing to creation of much JavaVM's Instances.
    1. I want to know how to use before create instance
    without creats another instance using "JNI_CreateJavaVM"
    2. I want to know how to use JavaVM that only create one it's instance.
    Any examples would be appreciated.
    Thank you very much.

    Hi,
    try to create one C thread for every Java application that you have to start. See http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/native1.1/invoking/invo.html file attach.c
    I.E. (hp-ux):
    pthread_create()...
    jvm->AttachCurrentThread((void **)&env,NULL);
    jobjectArray joa = env->NewObjectArray(argc, env->FindClass("java/lang/String"), NULL); // Parameters....
    jclass cls=env->FindClass("your class");
    jmethodID mid=env->GetStaticMethodID(cls, "main", "([Ljava/lang/String;)V");
    [env->RegisterNatives(cls,pmethParGui,1);] JNI CALL
    env->CallStaticVoidMethod(cls, mid, joa);
    jvm->DetachCurrentThread();
    pthread_exit...
    If your Java application use static memory, your memory will be shared.

  • How to load JVM without specifying jvm.dll

    How can I load JVM from native C++ code withoutknowing the path of jvm.dll?

    If on Windows, use the registry to find the place where the JRE has been installed. Take a look at the file java_md.c in the launcher subdirectory of the src.zip file supplied along with the JDK. Specifically, you will probably be most interested in the GetStringFromRegistry and GetPublicJREHome functions there.
    In the registry, look for the key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\JavaSoft\Java Runtime Environment. That has a number of values you will probably want.
    If not on Windows, I really don't know how to find the location of the JRE installation without it being configured in an environment variable, or being hardcoded.
    Hope it helps.
    Cheers.

  • Starting CF instances using different jvm.config files

    Hi.
    There are instructions for creating/using individual JVM
    configs for each
    CF server instance here:
    http://www.macromedia.com/cfusion/knowledgebase/index.cfm?id=tn_18206
    The instructions cover starting the instance and specifying
    the alternate
    config via both command line, or as a Windows Service.
    But what about via JRun Administrator? I see no option to
    specify any
    arguments for the "start" process.
    (I have to concede whilst I've *started* googling for an
    answer, I am being
    lazy and asking here before I've got too far with it: sorry).

    brahms_x01, while this doesn't help the orginial poster -
    have you ever considered spending $195 and calling support for
    help? You'll spend _A LOT_ more than that upheaving and moving to a
    new application server (which will also have its own set of unique
    issues - including crashing). If all you've done is complain about
    your problems on the fourms, then I've got no sympathy for you.
    This isn't an official support center.
    nyck6623 is on the right path. The default GC, quite frankly,
    sucks. But you need to be _very_ careful switching out your GC. Do
    it wrong, you can make things much worse. See these documents:
    http://www.javaperformancetuning.com/
    http://www.pixl8.co.uk/index.cfm/pcms/site.resources.cfmxtuning/
    http://java.sun.com/performance/reference/whitepapers/tuning.html
    http://java.sun.com/performance/
    As always, becareful in what you do, and load test load test
    load test. You also might want to look into turning on VerboseGC so
    that you can see what your heap is doing. It'll write out to your
    server-out.log file. That'll help you tune the JVM as well.
    Finally, you might want to stop the GC from running every 60
    seconds. When the GC is running, ColdFusion isn't.
    Turn on VerboseGC = -verbose:gc -XX:+PrintGCDetails
    -XX:+PrintGCTimeStamps -XX:+PrintHeapAtGC
    Force GC = -Dsun.rmi.dgc.server.gcInterval=3600000
    I'd bump your threads up to 10 or 12, and limit the cached
    queries to 50. And if you can afford to do it, add some memory to
    the servers so you can up your -Xmx limit. CF likes to breathe,
    deeply. I've got 4GB in my servers, and I set -Xmx1024M and the
    heap routinely runs around 700MB (with CF actually using around
    200MB).
    You might also want to consider turning on metrics so you can
    see how your threads and memory are doing.

  • How to Use AccessibleObjectFromWindow API in VBA to Get Excel Application Object from Excel Instance Window Handle

    I need to get the Excel.application object from a window handle using AccessibleObjectFromWindow. I can't seem to make the code work. First, I successfully search for the XLMAIN windows. Then, when I get a handle, I execute the AccessibleObjectFromWindow
    function. It seems to return a value of -2147467262 in all cases. Therefore, I believe that it is returning an error value. I can't figure out how to determine the meaning of this value.
    If it is an error value, I believe that one or more arguments are in error. My best guess at present is that the GUID argument is incorrect. I have tried two GUID values: {00020400-0000-0000-C000-000000000046} and {90140000-0016-0409-0000-0000000FF1CE}.
    I have seen both used in conjunction with OBJID_NATIVEOM. Neither one seems to work. I really would prefer not to use the second one as it has an Excel major and minor version number. I would hate to have to change this code, if a new minor version appeared.
    The attached code has been commented to show which parts have been shown to work and which not. I'm at my wits end and really need help.

    I don't think you can return a reference to Excel's main window like that as you are attempting to do.
    Ref:
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/desktop/dd317978(v=vs.85).aspx
    It's relatively straightforward to return any workbook's window in any given instance, and in turn it's parent Excel app. Try the following and adapt as required (and include error handling) -

    End Function
    Note as written if an instance does not have any loaded workbooks a reference will not be returned (though a workbook can be added using DDE, but convoluted!)
    FWIW there are two other very different approaches to grab all running Excel instances though something along the lines of the above is simplest.

    When I log on to a favorite site it loads OK. The site has a number of pages. When I move to the second or third page, a second instance of Firefox automatically starts and loads an advertisement. Using Web Cache to load balance servlet-based Forms (6i and 9i) is unofficially supported. I say "unofficially" because we have actual customers doing it and getting support, but the 2 development teams (Forms and Web Cache) haven't actually done any integration testing of this sort of configuration yet. For your case, please contact your Support rep and ask what was done to use Web Cache as a load balancer for Forms6i at METRO in Germany. The Forms product managemment team is writing up a white paper to describe how to do it, but until then, you'll need to go through Support. Please contact me if you want more information.

    The main problem here is :
    In the second instance (10.3.4 ) installed with a a different user and gave the port number to NodeManager as 1600 and its not getting started. Its throwing error and also after some errors in the terminal am able to see that its reverting to port number 5556 only.

  • How to use TCP Checksum Off-load in my network driver

    I am seeking infomation on how to use TCP Checksum Off-load to tell the Solaris 8 stack not to handle it for both receives and transmits (and let our NIC handle this compute-intensive task instead).
    There is mention that Sun GigabitEthernet Adapter cards, Release 1.1 supports Sol-2.6 use of NIC features: TCP checksum offload & byte swapping
    There are limited bits of info in include files. For example
    sys/strick.h indicates use of:
    inetcksum_t's ick_xmit
    stream.h has:
    struct datab's unsigned u16:16; /* used to store hw-calculated cksum
    #define STRUIO_IP 0x04 /* IP checksum stored in db_struioun */
    #define STRUIO_ZC 0x08 /* mblk eligible for zero-copy */
    strsub.h has:
    struct zero_copy_kstat
    Also /include/inet/tcp.h has tcp_sum for outbound.
    Thank you. -Weimin Tchen

    VenK7337,
    Could you show your python code. so we know what your are "writing" to the ethernet port?
    That way we can see what you are receiving.
    Parsing the incoming data (from the TCP-read) depends heavily on the device that sends it, and can not generically be described. LabVIEW has many byte (and even bit) manipulation functions to convert many different data formats to its own build in formats.
    So after the TCP listener is connected, you are constantly reading from the established connection (until it gets broken of course). More advanced example would be the internet toolkit if oyu have it.
    From the read characters (and I hope you designed a protocol with a clear starting character, ending character and maybe even a build in checksum) you parse the data and perform you action, and of course generate a reply. Again the internet toolkit is a good example. It parsed the input as it comes it, based on the HTTP format. Then generates the reply based on the request received.
    These days I would suggest not to use binairy encoded numerics. Try and use XML formatted data. Yes, it causes a lot of overhead. But typically this is not an issue and makes the code a lot more portable and maintainable. Also makes it easier to interface with other languages/platforms.
    Umless of course you are looking at Khz data rates, then XML is not th preferred choice.
    Hope this helps...

  • How to use the property-loader?

    Hello,
    i´m using TS 3.5 and LV 8.0. Now i also want to use the built-in property-loader from Teststand.
    Is there somewhere a documentation for "beginners" how to use this property-loader? At the end i want to read parameters from an ascii-file which updates my input-parameters of the steps in the current-sequence.
    I know how to read and change parameters from teststand in labview via active-x, but i have no idea how to use this propertyloader-thing.
    Is there an easy help file somewhere in the net ( I havent found one yet)?
    Thanks for your help.

    Meanwhile i can use the propertyloader for Limits and Variables which are in a container of the teststep. What not worked was:
    1.) setting the properties of a "Messagebox". For example the property "Button1Label". Why is this not working?
    2.) The second thing what is not clear: Do i need for each sequence an own property-loader? I tested it with a sequence with one subsequence. Does the subsequence needs its own property-loader?
    Currently the import-csv-file looks like this:
    Start Marker,,,
    <Step Name>,Limits.Low,Limits.High,Cont.Voltage
    TestStep_1,1,2,4
    TestStep_2,8,16,32
    End Marker,,,
    When Teststep_1 and Teststep_2 are both in mainsequence then it works. When i copy Teststep_2 in a subsequence then i get an error (-18).
    Any ideas about my two questions?
    Thanks

    Thank you.
    And another question if the data is already there in the child table if i try to load alone it must delete the old data in the child tablee and need to get load the new data and
    How to do this ?
    Arunraj Kumar
    You can do that with an IF EXISTS condition
    IF EXISTS (SELECT 1
    FROM YourChildTable c
    INNER JOIn @temptable t
    ON c.Bkey1 = t.Bkey1
    AND c.Bkey2 = t.Bkey2
    DELETE t
    FROM YourChildTable c
    INNER JOIn @temptable t
    ON c.Bkey1 = t.Bkey1
    AND c.Bkey2 = t.Bkey2
    INSERT INTO YourChildTable
    where Bkey1,Bkey2 etc forms the business key of the table
