How to use portlet:namespace in flex files?

Hi,
Iam developing a portlet whose UI is flex. using MXML and action script.
Portlets require that their UI elements be unique to each portlet, so we use <portlet:namespace> for each ID, vars, functions etc..
My question is how should i use this tag in my UI?
Is this the right place to ask this question, if NO, the please direct me to the right forum.

more than once.
I use apache's Xerces.
I want to know if Xereces realy support namespace spec. now, or how to use
the namespace with a parser. Can anyone kindly tell me where to find some
material that demo the use of namespace in Java program.

If you want a backing file to be run while rendering a book, you should specify your file in Backing property of the book. Is that what you are trying to do?

How to Get Portlet Namespace in a JSP attribute

Hi All,
The id of any component in a JSF application (with JSR168 portlets) takes the form
'view'+'<portlet:namespace/>'+':'+'formname:componentidname';
I need this id to be used for certain validations.
Currently I am using it as below :-

Presently I have hardcoded the portlet namespace 'ns_7_CGAH47L000NAF0I04I42ND10P7_' by looking into the html source of the rendered page.
Is there any way by which i can automatically get this portlet namespace within the param tag in the jsp.
I know for a fact that within javascript tags, it can be used as <portlet:namespace/> as shown below :-

Here 'viewns_7_CGAH47L00GLRE0I0BCOUKS00I5_:form:login' is actually
'view' + '<portlet:namespace/>'+':'+'formName:buttonId';
I am just trying to check the presence of the client ID in the request paramameter map inorder to attain action dependent requiredness.
Kindly tell me how i could access it within param.

I have been successful in getting amfphp to return PHP objects, the question now is how can I make Flex aware of the objects?
I am invoking a remote object and the objects are returned as a result. Can they be used directly or should I use XML?

Hmm, your code seems a bit to complicated. Here's what I do:
The RemoteObject:

Observations:
1. yourAMFPHPClassName is the name of the folder in amfphp\services that contains the PHP classes.
2. ThePHPFile is the PHP class file (without the extension) in the yourAMFPHPClassName folder.
3. You need the <mx:method name="..." .../> to define the function in the PHP class you want to call. The theFunctionYouWantToCall must be the exact name of the function in the PHP class (case sensitive).
The ActionScript part:
//THE BELOW EXAMPLE ONLY WORKS IF THE PHP FUNCTION RETURNS A SINGLE VALUE

Flex has a very limited support for HTML, thus you cannot
create a full featured editor within flex. The only work arounds I
have seen are done using IFRAME's over your app.
Not sure if it an option, however Apollo does a good job of
addressing this issue by allowing full feature Javascript and HTML.

How-to use Excel for the XML file input?

Following our discussion with Gerhard Steinhuber on the very nice tutorial from Horst Schaude , "How to upload mass data via XML File Input" , I am starting this new discussion.
In the comments section of this previous cited tutorial, Rufat Gadirov explains how to use a generated XML from Eclipse instead of your XSD file as your source in Excel.
However, in spite of all the instructions, I am still facing the same issue in Excel when I try to save my file as XML : "The XML maps in this workbook are not exportable".
What I try to do is to create one or more Sales Orders with multiple Items in it from a XML File Input, using excel to enter data.
The part with the File input is working (if I directly upload my file to the webDAV, it creates a sales order instance with multiple items).
The only missing part is the Excel data input that I cannot make work. Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

I suppose that as you have tried to construct a map from the schema, you have taken the elements from the List level down. In this case I also can't export the map.
But if you take the elements from the level MySalesOrderUploaded down, you'll get the exportable map (screenshots)

How to use an install.xpi configuration file to set up email data

Manual setup of my email account failed because Thunderbird searches for my domain name and it is not in its database. So my host provider gave me an auto-config file for Thunderbird for my email account, called install.xpi - But how do I use this file? I can't double-click on it in Windows to do anything. In Thunderbird program it wants to create a new account but I can't do anything else in it like file import.
How to use install.xpi file so it creates my email account with the proper setup variables? Thanks for your help.

Start Thunderbird, close the wizard, goto the Tools menu (alt+T) select add-ons
There's a tiny button to the left of the search window. Click this and select Install Add-on From File and Navigate to your xpi file, select it, and off you go.

How to use substring in ITS(HTML file)

I am modifying d_searchhelp.html file in agate. I want a use a substring function this file. So I used the below code.

oldclassname=newclassname.substring(0,8);

This is the error i got when i use this HTML file in searchhelp.

How to use Stylesheets packaged in JAR file

Hi,
I would like to package XSL files in a JAR. The stylesheet may import other XSL files. For example:
<xsl:import href="demos.xsl">
<xsl:import href="table.xsl">
where the original stylesheet and the imported stylesheets (demos.xsl and table.xsl) are all located in this package: com.company.xsl
Is there a way for the transformers to retrieve the files from the JAR?
Possibly another complication is that this JAR file is loaded at runtime.

However, is it possible to use a relative path? Right now it only works if the absolute path is used:
<xsl:import href="jar:file:///c:/applications/bin/myjar.jar!/com/company/xsl/table.xsl" />
It would be nice if this worked instead:
<xsl:import href="jar:file:///./bin/myjar.jar!/com/company/xsl/table.xsl" />
