How to use read statement on a select options

Hi all,
I am trying to read the all the values on user selection screen select options.
I have an internal table loaded with data.
So while looping this internal table, I need to check the table certain tank field (lgort) against the select options tank values entered by user.
It is fine when user uses the multiple values on the select options since I use the "READ" statement on the select options and get the matching values.
Example: when user uses the multiple value selection on a select-options to enter values A554 and A555
The select-options table will be:
sign   option    low         high
I          EQ       A554
I          EQ       A555
LOOP AT gt_output_location INTO gw_output.
READ TABLE s_lgort INTO gw_lgort WITH KEY low = gw_output-lgort.
    IF sy-subrc = 0.
    * append row to another table.
    ENDIF.
ENDLOOP.
Problem:
Example: when user uses range on a select-options to enter values A554 and A555
sign   option    low         high
I          BT      A554       A555
The read statement can only get matching value A554.
LOOP AT gt_output_location INTO gw_output.
READ TABLE s_lgort INTO gw_lgort WITH KEY low = gw_output-lgort.
    IF sy-subrc = 0.
    * append row to another table.
    ENDIF.
ENDLOOP.
Anyone have any idea on this?? Thanks!!

Hi all, I need to consider each and every lines of the gt_output_location as there are other fields need to consider also. Basically I am checking each and every lines of this table to see which lines I need to append to another table.
That is why I did not use  "LOOP AT gt_output_location INTO gw_output WHERE lgort IN s_lgort"
The full gt_output_location:
LOOP AT gt_output_location INTO gw_output.
*      IF p_lgort = space AND p_umlgo = space.
       IF gv_lines_lgort = 0 AND gv_lines_umlgo = 0.
*       only append those from tank <> to tank
         IF gw_output-lgort <> gw_output-umlgo.
           APPEND gw_output to gt_output.
           CLEAR gw_output.
ELSE. "from tank == to tank
*         append those from plant <> to plant
           IF gw_output-werks <> gw_output-umwrk.
             APPEND gw_output to gt_output.
             CLEAR gw_output.
           ENDIF.
         ENDIF.
*      ELSEIF p_lgort = space AND p_umlgo <> space.
       ELSEIF gv_lines_lgort = 0 AND gv_lines_umlgo > 0.
*        IF gw_output-umlgo = p_umlgo.
READ TABLE s_umlgo INTO gw_umlgo WITH KEY low = gw_output-umlgo.
         IF sy-subrc = 0.
*         only append those from tank <> to tank
           IF gw_output-lgort <> gw_output-umlgo.
             APPEND gw_output to gt_output.
             CLEAR gw_output.

    append wa to itab.
    loop at itab into wa.
    wa1 = wa.
    collect wa1 into itab1.
    endloop.
    loop at itab1 into wa1.
    write : / wa1-name , wa1-sales.
    endloop.
COLLECT is used to create unique or compressed datsets. The key fields are the default key fields of the internal table itab .
If you use only COLLECT to fill an internal table, COLLECT makes sure that the internal table does not contain two entries with the same default key fields.
<b>If, besides its default key fields, the internal table contains number fields (see also ABAP/4 number types ), the contents of these number fields are added together if the internal table already contains an entry with the same key fields.</b>
If the default key of an internal table processed with COLLECT is blank, all the values are added up in the first table line.
In the program you mentioned yesterday,I am not able to get the logic since many lines are commented.

    Hi Raja,
<b>PERFORM</b> key work is used to include subroutine in sapscript form...
But the processing is lttle bit different form the one we use in ABAP.
Here the paramters passed to form is stored in internal table of name-value table. there are two table one for inbound parameter and other for outbound parameters.
Check out the example below to see how this is used..
    <b>Definition in the SAPscript form:</b>
/: PERFORM GET_BARCODE IN PROGRAM QCJPERFO
    /: USING &PAGE&
    /: USING &NEXTPAGE&
    /: CHANGING &BARCODE&
    /: ENDPERFORM
    / &BARCODE&
<b>Coding of the calling ABAP program:</b>
    REPORT QCJPERFO.

    OUT_PAR STRUCTURE ITCSY.

    ENDIF.
    IF NEXTPAGE = 0.
    OUT_PAR-VALUE+2 = ‘L’. "Flag: last page
    ENDIF.
    MODIFY OUT_PAR INDEX SY-TABIX.
    ENDFORM.
Hope this is clear to understand...
    Enjoy SAP.

    /* WHERE */
    SET @name = /* T0.DocDate */ '[%1]'

You have to create stored procedure in SQL only .
Like u must have create for Crystal .
You can execute procedure in query manager but you have to enter parameter manually..
    example
    Exec @Test '20140101' '20140501'
Every time user has to enter it manually in yyyymmdd format in case of date parameters.
    Example
    Create Proc [@Test]
    as begin
    DECLARE @name AS date
    Declare @name2  AS date
    /* SELECT FROM [2013].[dbo].[OINV] T0 */
    /* WHERE */
    select  '2013',t5.U_salmannm,t1.CardName,t2.sumapplied as CollectionAmount,t2.DcntSum ,t3.DocTotal as InvoiceTotal,
    datediff(dd,t3.DocDate,t1.Docdate) as Days

    inner join 2013.dbo.RCT2 t2 on t1.DocNum = t2.DocNum

    /* SELECT FROM [2014].[dbo].[OINV] T0 */
    /* WHERE */
    select  '2014',t5.U_salmannm,t1.CardName,t2.sumapplied as CollectionAmount,t2.DcntSum ,t3.DocTotal as InvoiceTotal,

  • How to use X-Fi Effects without selecting SB as the default sound device?

How to use X-Fi Effects without selecting SB as the default sound device?Hello everyone,
    That's my situation.
I have Sound Blaster X-Fi Go sound card and I am using SRS HD Audio Lab. SRS HD Audio Lab was selected as the default audio device and X-Fi effects (X-Fi CMSS-3d, Equalizer etc.) was working without any problem in Windows Xp. I have Windows 7 now and when i select SRS HD Audio Lab as the default device, Creative effects are not working, i must select "SB X-Fi Go!" to get them working but i can't use SRS HD Audio Lab in that case. SRS is also using SB X-Fi Go sound card as the output and volume adjustment on console launcher is working but something is disabling the effects. Any solutions to enable effects ?
    Thanks.

If the kernel modules for your sound card and webcam both support the index parameter (use modinfo to find out) then adding
    options <name_of_preferred_card's_kernel_module> index=0
    options <name_of_second_card's_kernel_module> index=1
to /etc/modprobe.d/modprobe.conf (or another modprobe conf file of your choice) should solve the problem.

  • How to set BDCDATA table for a SELECT-OPTIONS object?

    Dear experts,
I have a transaction with PARAMETERS and SELECT-OPTIONS objects. This transaction will be called by another program by using CALL TRANSACTION 'mytransaction' USING mybdcdata statement. Below is some of the called transaction's source code:
    DATA:
      date TYPE sflight-fldate.
    PARAMETERS:
      p_carid TYPE sflight-carrid,
      p_conid TYPE sflight-connid.
    SELECT-OPTIONS:
      so_date FOR date.
This is what I wrote in the calling program to define the values of the called transaction PARAMETERS fields:
    DATA:
      wa_bdcdata TYPE bdcdata,
      it_bdcdata TYPE TABLE OF bdcdata.
    wa_bdcdata-program = 'MYPROGRAM'.
    wa_bdcdata-dynpro = '1000'.
    wa_bdcdata-dynbegin = 'X'.
    APPEND wa_bdcdata TO it_bdcdata.
    CLEAR wa_bdcdata.
    wa_bdcdata-fnam = 'P_CARID'.
    wa_bdcdata-fval = 'AA'.
    APPEND wa_bdcdata TO it_bdcdata.
    CLEAR wa_bdcdata.
    wa_bdcdata-fnam = 'P_CONID'.
    wa_bdcdata-fval = '017'.
    APPEND wa_bdcdata TO it_bdcdata.
    CALL TRANSACTION 'MYTRANSACTION' USING it_bdcdata.
Unfortunately, I don't know how to set the values for the SELECT-OPTIONS screen fields. How to do this?
I've Googled this and tried several guesses but none was found or successful. Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Haris

    Hi ,
Better go for  SUBMIT report   instead of CALL transaction  ...
find the name  of  report being called  on that transaction which you will be calling  . Use that report name in SUBMIT
Just take help from  below code .
Before using do please read  by pressing f1 on SUBMIT  syntax .

  • How to pass select-options in key while using Read Statement.

    Hi SAP gurus,
I was using a select stmt. with were clause of Select-options it was working fine,
now my scenerio is changed i need to read an internal table
    with key of select-options....
how to read internal table with key S_MATNR (Select-options).

    Hi,
    We can certainly do this.
We need to loop the internal table with select-options condition.
    Example  :
LOOP AT ITAB WHERE FIELD =  S_FIELD.
    ENDLOOP.
    This should solve your problem.
    Plz reward if useful.
    Thanks,
    Dhanashri.

  • How to use collect statement properly

In PBID table , i will get 4 rows for a material . I will get the corresponding values of bdzei from the same table . Now i will pass this bdzei into pbhi table. then i will get some 200 rows of data. I have to sum up the field plnmg , by grouping the laeda field of pbhi. In short, i need to know the sum of pbhi-plnmg for a particular pbhi-laeda . I know a way to do it. But i want to know how to use the COLLECT statement for this purpose. My output should contain oly 1 line for 1 material ..

  • How to retrieve data using logical database and custom select options

    Hi all,
I have a selection screen which is displayed by logical database PSJ and I have two select options of my own. I need to retrieve data based on both selection screen of logical database and my own select options. How can I do it?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hai Gupta
Check the following Document & Links
    1. A logical database is in fact
    a program only.
    2. This LDB provides two main things :
    a) a pre-defined selection screen
which handles all user inputs and validations
    b) pre defined set of data
    based upon the user selection.
    3. So we dont have to worry about from
    which tables to fetch data.
    4. Moreover, this LDB Program,
    handles all user-authorisations
and is efficient in all respects.
    5. tcode is SLDB
good info about Logical Database. you can check the link.

Functions for displaying and changing logical databases:
    Call Transaction SE36 or
Choose ABAP Workbench -> Development -> Programming environ. -> Logical databases
Interaction between database program and report:
During program processing, subroutines are performed in the database program and events are executed in the report.
To read data from a database tables we use logical database.
A logical database provides read-only access to a group of related tables to an ABAP/4 program.
    advantages:-
The programmer need not worry about the primary key for each table.Because Logical database knows how the different tables relate to each other, and can issue the SELECT command with proper where clause to retrieve the data.
    i)An easy-to-use standard user interface.
ii)check functions which check that user input is complete, correct, and plausible.
    iii)meaningful data selection.
iv)central authorization checks for database accesses.
v)good read access performance while retaining the hierarchical data view determined by the application logic.
    disadvantages:-
i)If you donot specify a logical database in the program attributes, the GET events never occur.
ii)There is no ENDGET command,so the code block associated with an event ends with the next event
statement (such as another GET or an END-OF-SELECTION).
    1. transaction code SLDB.
    2.enter name z<ldb-name>
    3.create
    4.short text
    5.create
    6. name of root node (here Ekko)
    7. enter short text (f6)
8.node type -> data base table.
    9.create
    10 change logical DB
riht click on ekko and insert node
    here node name ekpo
    11.create
    12. click on selections
    13. press no Should the changed structure of Z<ldb name> be saved first.
14.select tables which you want to join.
    15.transfer
16 now you have to o to coding part.
    17. save
    activate.
    19.click to src code
double click on first include and activate

  • Using read statement

    Hi experts
how should i modify this statement
'select single parnr from ihpa into g_parnr' inorder to improve the performance.
can i use 'read' if yes can u plz give me the code for that
    regards
    siri

    Hii
    use identical select statements.
Therefore, SORT the table and use READ TABLE WITH KEY BINARY SEARCH.
    USE THE FOLLOWING
    sort IT_VBAP BY MATNR .
    LOOP AT IT_VBAP.
    <b>READ TABLE IT_MAKT KEY MATNR = IT_VBAP-MATNR
    TRANSPORTING MAKTX binary search .</b>
    IF SY-SUBRC NE 0.
    <b>SELECT MATNR MAKTX FROM MAKT
    APPENDING TABLE IT_MAKT-MAKTX
    WHERE MATNR EQ IT_VBAP-MATNR.</b>
    ENDIF.
    MOVE: IT_MAKT TO IT_VBAP-MAKTX.
    ENDLOOP.
    <b>Instead of:      </b>
    LOOP AT IT_VBAP.
    SELECT SINGLE MAKTX INTO IT_VBAP-MAKTX
    FROM MAKT
    WHERE MATNR EQ IT_VBAP-MATNR.
    ENDLOOP.
    reward points if helpful .

  • HOW TO USE PERFORM STATEMENT IN SMARTFORMS

    Hi,
Can anyone tell me how to use call subroutine in smartform?
    Thanks & Regards,
    Gauarv.

    Hi,
    Hope this helps you..
You can use the PERFORM command to call an ABAP subroutine
    (form) from
any program, subject to the normal ABAP runtime
    authorization
checking. You can use such calls to subroutines for
    carrying out
calculations, for obtaining data from the database that is
    needed at
display or print time, for formatting data, and so on.
PERFORM commands, like all control commands, are executed
    when a
document is formatted for display or printing.
    Communication between a
subroutine that you call and the document is by way of
    symbols whose
values are set in the subroutine.
The system does not execute the PERFORM command within
    SAPscript
replace modules, such as TEXT_SYMBOL_REPLACE or
    TEXT_INCLUDE_REPLACE.
The replace modules can only replace symbol values or
    resolve include
texts, but not interpret SAPscript control commands.
    Syntax in a form window:
    /: PERFORM <form> IN PROGRAM <prog>
    /: USING &INVAR1&
    /: USING &INVAR2&
    /: CHANGING &OUTVAR1&
    /: CHANGING &OUTVAR2&
    /: ENDPERFORM
INVAR1 and INVAR2 are variable symbols and may be of any of
    the four
    SAPscript symbol types.
OUTVAR1 and OUTVAR2 are local text symbols and must
    therefore be
    character strings.
The ABAP subroutine called via the command line stated
    above must be
defined in the ABAP report prog as follows:
FORM <form> TABLES IN_TAB STRUCTURE ITCSY
    OUT_TAB STRUCTURE ITCSY.
    ENDFORM.
The values of the SAPscript symbols passed with /: USING...
    are now
stored in the internal table IN_TAB . Note that the system
    passes the
values as character string to the subroutine, since the
    field Feld
VALUE in structure ITCSY has the domain TDSYMVALUE (CHAR
    80). See the
example below on how to access the variables.
The internal table OUT_TAB contains names and values of the
    CHANGING
parameters in the PERFORM statement. These parameters are
    local text
symbols, that is, character fields. See the example below
    on how to
return the variables within the subroutine.
From within a SAPscript form, a subroutine GET_BARCODE in
    the ABAP
program QCJPERFO is called. Then the simple barcode
    contained there
('First page', 'Next page', 'Last page') is printed as
    local variable
    symbol.
