Hai all,
i have a JSF page having simple form, username, password field and submit button, so on submit the form i want to get the data from the request object in next page without using a bean.
How can i get it? I am looking for this problem for quite a long time, so can anyone help me...

In my experience its not possible to call OLE object in Webui. Maybe customer 3 party application will be supply some web service to handle credit card payments. I think this is the simple way to access 3party application.

As Francois pointed out Oracle forms has nothing to do with html based technology. The way you can get the equivalent effect of creating consistancy in the way your objects are displayed is by creating a set of items you want and alter their apperance and behaviour and place them into object libraries (one library should do the trick). From there you subclass all of you forms items off these libraries.

How to get Request object, coz i want to see the out put of this code

I want to get only LDAP user from the server, for that i am having code but i think this code is returning me all user from the server.

Go to SE11, in the option 'Lock object' enter the name of your lock,
begin with 'E', suppose 'EXXXX' And create. In tab 'Tables' fill the
table name where the record you want to lock exist and select the
lock mode. Lock mode can be shared and exclusive. If 'shared',
when you lock the record, other can also read data, but can not
modify. If 'exclusive', when you lock the record, other can neither
read nor modify the record. After save and activate, you will get two
function module.'ENQUEUE_EXXXX' to lock record,
'DEQUEUE_EXXXX' to release lock on one record.
When use this function module it only lock one record at a time. It
does not lock the table.

Hi have been trying to get my head around how to use swf object, I know very little javascript and so am having difficulty in modifying the code to suit my needs. This is my page which I have used dreamweaver cs3 and have used insert>media>flash and it is working well but does not validate. You should be able to just declare a variable outside of the onComplete function and assign it the loaded object when the file loads...

Using request object in java web service code

I am working on a java web service and require the request object in my code.
This is because i want to get the name of the user who is using this web service.
I am getting error in the line
IPortalComponentRequest request = (IPortalComponentRequest) this.getRequest();
Please guide me how to use the request object.
Please also suggest if there is any other way to get the name of the user who is using the web service.

Simple answer: This is not possible due a web service doesn't has such request objects.
If you want to use the user information you have to pass it from the programm logic you are calling the web service. When you have e.g. a JSPDynPage you can read out the user information and supply this information for your web service.

I have used the wrapper in that forum but this is just for to set some Parameter to the request. But there is no method like setServletPath on the wrapper class? it is still missing and i need an HELP plz about how to override ServletPath on the request object.

Cross Validation:
If you want to compare two different attributes, put your code in validateEntity() method.
This method will be called once all the setAttr..() methods are called.
Initialize:
If you want to initialize any data values then write your code in create() method
Delete:
if you want to do some DMLs while deleting the row, do it in delete() method
Calculations:
if you want to derive some values from different column into another column, do it in doDML() method.

How to use LDAP with Oracle forms 10g on Oracle application server

I need some help on this. I have developed oracle forms 10g on application server 9iAS. The client want to use the existing LDAP authentication to the software we wrote. I do not know how I could configure to use the existing LDAP authentication . If anyone know how would I use the existing LDAP on different server to use when they logon to our menu in 10g to validate the user. Do I need to add any varibales in formweb.cfg or any other method. Please help.

I am not quite sure if this works out of the box. According to an Oracle FAQ:
4.2 Can I use LDAP to authenticate Forms Services?
Not directly. However, Oracle Login Server is able to authenticate against a LDAP directory and thus a Forms application can take advantage of this in a SSO environment. But you cannot use access control information stored in a LDAP directory with Forms.

if you run nw04s SP8, it's a limitation. you can create your own simple types and use them in your entities. but the custom data structures you create in the dictionary don't show in list of available structures when you want to create a new complex attribute

How to use Logger object in Lookout 5.0

I am now trying to log data using Logger object. I use Switch1 for activating LogContinuously mode and Switch2 for breaking logging process. If I turn off Switch1, the logging process stops, its ok. My problem is if Switch1 is still on and I turn off Switch2, the logging process is still running. I seems different from what I have read from Help file. Anyone has the solution for it?Please give me an advice! Thanks a lot. Its better if someone post an example about using Logger object here for reference.

I think the behaviour you described is correct. If you turn on switch2, the logging process will stop, even when switch1 is on. If you turn off switch2, the process will be running.
