How to use setActionListener() method using MethodBinding.

Hi,
I want to use the setActionListener() method using MethodBinding. I want to set the "from" and "to" parameters to it. I am able to set these parameters using the tag. But i want to set this using the MethodBinding.

Hi,
you can't as to my knowledge - maybe accessing the component (button) and getting its child component, which ideally would be the action listener (just give this a shot).
I think easier is to reference a managed bean in the EL used in the setActionListener and then call the managed bean through Java to set a condition that makes it change the executed action.
Alternatively you use an ActionListener reference from the command item properties and change this on the fly, which is feasible to do

Move your second slit inside the first loop, so you are splitting the substring, not the entire string.

How to use application class reference in the controller methods of BSP

Hi,
I have created a bsp application and also created an application class and assigned it to the application class. In the application class, I have created attribute TEXT type string(public and instance parameter).
In the controller let's say main.do, I am trying to give a value to to the text by adding the following code.
application->text = 'test'.
I am getting syntax error saying field 'text' is unknown. It is not contained in one of the specified tables nor defined by DATA statement.
Please can someone let me know how to use the application class in the coding with an example. I couldn't find how exactly this has to be reference. Please help.

if you are having main controller and sub-controller then you may need to use below coding to use application class reference.
*Data declaration
DATA: obj_cntrl        TYPE REF TO cl_bsp_controller2,
         obj_sub_cntrl   TYPE REF TO z_cl_sub_cntl,
         application TYPE REF TO z_cl_application.
*Get the controller
CALL METHOD obj_main_cntrl->get_controller   "obj_main_cntrl is the object of main controller
    EXPORTING
      controller_id       = 'SUB'   "Controller ID
    RECEIVING
      controller_instance = obj_cntrl .
obj_sub_cntrl ?= obj_cntrl .

How to use methods when objects stored in a linked list?

Hi friend:
I stored a series of objects of certain class inside a linked list. When I get one of them out of the list, I want to use the instance method associated with this object. However, the complier only allow me to treat this object as general object, ( of Object Class), as a result I can't use instance methods which are associated with this object. Can someone tell me how to use the methods associated with the objects which are stored inside a linked list?
Here is my code:

Use casting. In other words, cat the object taken from the collection to the correct type and call your method.

In APEX if we are submitting the page the parameters( Variables ) will pass through URL.No they won't. Submission POSTs the <tt>wwv_flow</tt> form.
Sometimes a branch may be performed after submission, generating a URL in which parameter values are visible. To avoid this, use the save state before branching option.
Other actions—like using navigation lists, or clicking a link in a report—will perform a GET using parameters in the URL. In these cases using Session State Protection is advised.

when I run this jsp , it appears the error wirtten "isTimeSet has protected access in java.util.Calendar"

The only way to access a protected variable is to subclass.
MyCalendar extends Calendar
but I doubt you need to do this. If you only want to tell if a Calendar object has a time associated with it, try using
cal.isSet( Calendar.HOUR );

     I have developed a method in SE18 for the corresponding field and defined function module SWE_EVENT_CREATE with BOR bus2012 and event CHANGED.
    Now how to use this method to make my workflow to trigger?Shall I create an event in delegated bus2012 and can I call this method?

For that you can go for BADI. First you check whether any badi is getting called form that tcode ME22N. Then to place your method, implement that BADI. So whenever that BADI is getting called, it will call your event. Through Event workflow will be getting triggered.

How to use method POST to send XML using utl_http?

Hi,
I am trying to work out how to use the POST method to mimic submitting data from a HTML form, using utl_http.
I cannot use SOAP for this as the people I am sending the data to are just expecting an XML document to be sent to a standard CGI script running on their web server.
There is a lot of documentation on how to submit data using the POST method (using Utl_Http.Write_Text etc), but I cannot find anything that tells me how to submit form variables.
The examples on OTN say this:
"Alternatively use method => 'POST' and Utl_Http.Write_Text to
build an arbitrarily long message"
but don't tell me how to actually place the data into the required input parameters of the CGI program I am hitting.
I need to hit a URL such as
www.asite.com/cgiprogram
and pass in a parameter, eg
in_param="test+data"
I am currently doing this as a GET, which works, but the XML document I am passing in could potentially be bigger than the GET method will allow.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The Sec Method can be used in the user decision step. The secondary methods are executed along with the user decision step. You have 3 options. Either execute a secondary method before executing the user decision step or after execution of user decision step or while executing the user decision.
For this define the methods either in Methods before execution of workitem execution to execute it before user decision step or Methods after execution of workitem so as to execute it after the execution of user decision.
In order to execute a method along with user decision step execution use secondary methods (amodal call.)

Im wondering how to use the removeRange method in java arraylist, its a protected method which returns void.

So if my class extends Arraylist i should be able to call the method but the compiler states that it still has protected access in arraylist. Does this mean im still overriding the method in arraylist ? A little explanation of whats happeneing would be appreciated as much as an answer

You have a member variable called array which is an ArrayList
You have a constructor which takes a parameter called ary which is an ArrayList
Since ary is an ArrayList, you cannot call it's removeRange() method unless myClass is in the java.util package. Do not put your class in the java.util package.
It seems like what you want to do is to move the items in one ArrayList to another ArrayList rather than copying them. I wrote a program to do this. Here it isimport java.util.*;

In the code above I create an empty MyClass and then populate it with 5 items and then print that list. Then I create a new MyClass using the constructor which takes a MyClass parameter. This copies the items from the parameter list into the newly created MyClass (which is an ArrayList) and then removes the items from the MyClass passed as a parameter. Back in the main() method, I then print the contents of the two MyClass objects.
One thing which may be a little confusing is this line.
for(int i=0;i<ary.size();i++) add(ary.get(i));
the add() call doesn't refer to anything. What it really refers to is the newly created MyClass object which this constructor is building. This newly created object is the 'this' object. So the line above could be rewritten as
for(int i=0;i<ary.size();i++) this.add(ary.get(i));

EJB find methods return a collection , i want to know how i can use that collection ?
should i use Collection.toArray() and then use that array by casting it?
what is DTOs and ho i can use them in this case?
How i can use the returned collection is a swing application as it is a colection of ejbs ?
Should i Cast it back to ejb class which it comes from or some other way ?
for example converting it to an array of DTO (in session bean) and return it to swing application ?

Why can't you just assign the method's return value to a variable and then print that? A bit of scriptlet code will do the trick. (As much as we all hate to use scriptlet code.)
I believe you'll be able to do what you want in the 1.1 standard JSTL, but for now this will suffice. - MOD
