How to use the direct material indicator in Plan Driven Procurement?

Dear Experts,
How the system determine the procurement as direct material procurement in Plan driven scenario? In case of manual shopping cart, the system determines the direct material /indirect material procurement based on the check box 'Order as direct material'
indicator.
Now in case of plan driven procurement, where the requisition comes from ECC system, there is no way to indicate in the MM system for direct material?
Could you please enlighten me here?

Hi Ranjan,
In case of manual shopping cart, system at that point does not know whether the material procured has inventory management maintained or material valuation. Hence we need to specify option of 'Order as direct material'.
But when requisition is created in ECC system, SAP system already is aware of direct procurement since material used will have material master / Inventory management / Material valuation / Storage location etc maintained. And the info or some indicator will be sent to front end SRM system accordingly.
Moreover it does not really matter for front-end SRM system to check whether it's a direct or indirect procurement since all procurement processes followed in SRM will be exactly same.

To get better performance, I use the preparedStatement for dynamic sql. This need to transfer much parameter data from C to JDBC for PreparedStatement object in JVM. I think this maybe get improvements by using the new direct bytebuffer function from JDK1.4. However I cannot find an example code to get start. Could someone provide some ideas for this?
Currently, I directly call JDBC API in C application through JNI, so there is no java codes. Only c file using JNI call.
My understanding is to use the direct bytebuffer feature, I also need to have java codes to process the JDBC API call and then can share the same memory between Java and C. Please correct me if wrong.
Any input is appreciated.

Nothing to do with java, jni nor C.
Major (or perhaps everything that is a real 'database') comes with additional tools. Amounst those tools will be command line tools capable of importing and exporting data from the database. In processing bulk data they will always be faster than anything you can do in JDBC.

Then I went to my 27inch iMac and saw the "Time Machine Backups" hoping to see the files I dragged from the 20inch iMac. But the files were not there except a folder that said "Backups.backupdb". It's not a good idea to use a network disk for both Time Machine backups and other things. By design Time Machine will eventually consume all the space on its output disk, which will then cause problem for your other files. I'd store those other files on an external disk connected to the Time Capsule. The problem with that is that Time Machine will only back up files that are local to your Mac. That means that you'll only have one copy of the files on or attached to your Time Capsule.
By the way, you've been misled by poor field labeling on this forum into typing a large part of your message into the field intended for the subject. In the future just type a short summary of your post into that field and type the whole message into the field below that.

"order as direct material" indicator is not coming in Shopping Cart.

I am trying to perform the employee self service procurement for a direct material. I have performed the below config and attribute maintenance.
1. Defined a new transaction type and new number range for local PO in SRM Config
2. In R/3 Back-End, for the same document type, I have ensured that number range is present
3. For my Root Organization, I have added "DP_PROC_TY" for "Transaction Type: Create PO manually" maintained with my above transaction type defined
4. I have selected my local P Group and added 001 Product Category with R/3 Back-end system as source system in "Responsibility" tab
After that I have started created Shopping Cart expecting to find "Order as Direct Material" indicator in Shopping Cart details.
But I could not be able to see that indicator in Shopping Cart. What I see is Product Category 001 but different P Group is coming.
Is this the reason, what I am missing. Please help.

You can use the following elements:

JNI - How to use the error reporting mechanism?

I've developed a C++ DLL which is loaded from a commercial Win32 application (not written by me) as a plug-in for external calculations. On its initialization the C++ DLL launches the Java VM via the JNI invocation interface. When the DLL functions are called by the application, they forward the calls to Java objects inside the Java VM, again via JNI invocation interface.
This works well, but I have encountered a weird error.
From Java I open a JFrame containing a JTextArea as small console for debug output messages. If I turn output to this debug console off (my printToConsole routine checks whether a boolean flag is set), the string concatenation operator may lead to a crash of the Java VM.
For example, if in one of the Java functions called from the
DLL via JNI invocation interface the following is the first statement,
it leads to a crash of the Java VM and the application that loaded the C++ proxy DLL.

Interestingly, if I comment this statement out, the Java code works fine WITHOUT any crash. I've already thought about potential races and synchronization issues in my code, but I don't see where this is the case. And the string concatenation error fails as well, if I insert sleep() statements in front of it and at other places in the code. However, if I turn on log messages printed to my JFrame debug console (containing a JTextArea), the String concatenation works without problems.
So maybe the JNI interface has a bug and affects the Java VM; I don't see where my JNI code is wrong.
One problem is that I do not get any stdout output, as the C++ proxy DLL is loaded by the Windows application, even if I start the Windows application from the DOS command line (under Windows).
Does anyone know how to use the error reporting mechanism?

My C++ proxy DLL was compiled in debug mode, but the commercial application (which loaded the DLL) is very likely not.

Yes, I've initially thought about errors in the C++ code too. But the C++ code is actually very simple and short. It doesn't allocate anything on the C++ side. It allocates a couple of ByteBuffers inside the Java VM however via JNI invocation interface calls of env->NewDirectByteBuffer(). The native memory regions accessed via the ByteBuffers are allocated not by my own C++ code, but by the program that calls my DLL (the program is Metastock).
The interesting thing is that everything works fine if output to my debug console is enabled, which means that in the Java print routine getConsoleLoggingState() returns true and text is appended to the jTextArea.

Moreover, the crash happens BEFORE the allocated ByteBuffer objects are accessed in the Java code. But again, if console output is turned on, it works stable. If console output is turned off, it works when the (useless) String concatenation operation is removed in the Java routine called from C++.
I've already thought about potential races (regarding multiple threads), but this can be ruled out in my case. It almost appears as if the JVM can have problems when called by the invocation interface (I tested it with Java 1.4.2 b28).
All the calls between C++ and Java go ALWAYS in the direction from C++ code to Java. Unfortunately, there is no special JRE version with extensive logging capabilities to facilitate debugging. And the problem is not easily reproducible either.

Hello,
You can use Pull list for st.location transfers, if you are into WM managed then this pull list used a lot.
You can use the pulllist to the max. extent. But with IM managed plant the use is limited and this is used only for storage location transfers.
Issue cannot be done for Production orders. You can bring the materials to the req. storage locations and after that you have issue in the order or manually for the order.

Anita,
I have worked on the Global variables and i found no issues. Make sure that the variable is declared in the Declaration Section and then initlaized in the Initialization section.
If you declare a variable in the Declaration Section ,
int i;
then in any udf you can use if directly. No need to re declare the variable in the UDF. If you do this, then it becomes a local variable.

There is a workaround, which is to use Airport Utility 5.6.
I can confirm that 5.6 will run on 10.8.4 Mountain Lion, it will recognize the new 2013 Airport Extreme Base Station (A1521) running firmware 7.7.1, and it will give you access to view the device's Log & Statistics, DHCP Clients, and Profiles.
Four caveats:
1) The easiest way to install it is to download the app itself, not an installer or through the App Store. There is a page here where you can download the app: http://coreyjmahler.com/2013/03/08/airport-utility-5-6-on-os-x-v10-8-mountain-li on/ This way, you still have both versions, Airport Utility 6.x.x and 5.6.
2) When you launch 5.6, you'll get a message saying a newer version is available and asking if you want to update. Click Cancel to proceed into the utility.
3) When you click the Manual Setup button in 5.6, you'll get a warning dialog that "This version of AirPort Utility doesn't support this AirPort wireless device and might improperly configure the device if you continue to use it. Check www.apple.com/support/airport for the latest version of AirPort Utility." You can click Continue to get into the utility without issue.
4) You should probably only use 5.6 to view the additional status details. I have not tried to modify and save any AEBS settings using 5.6. There are other discussions here in the forums indicating that attempting to save settings via 5.6 that are no longer available in 6.3.1 will not actually save the settings to the AEBS even if both utilities indicate that the settings are changed. So, even though you can't use it to modify settings no longer available in Airport Utility 6.3.1, using Airport Utility 5.6 to view DHCP clients, Logs and Statistics is very useful for troubleshooting network issues.
PS - There are two ways to get to the DHCP Clients list, neither of which is obvious The first is to go to the Airport pane -> Summary tab and click on the "Wireless Clients:" label in the Summary display. All of the labels from "Wireless Mode:" down on the Summary display operate as links to view/edit the corresponding info/settings, which is also not obvious at first glance. Also not obvious, clicking on "Wireless Clients:" actually brings up a new pane with three tabs: Logs, Wireless Clients, and DHCP Clients. You can also get to the same pane by going to the Advanced pane and clicking on the Logs and Statistics button.
I hope this is helpful information. Took me a while to find out how to do this.

two files, they all use the 'title' as the element names. To solve these
conflicts, The namespace is used to qualified the one in slideshow2.dtd.
But the parser still complain that the 'title' in slideshow2.dtd is declared
more than once.
I use apache's Xerces.
I want to know if Xereces realy support namespace spec. now, or how to use
the namespace with a parser. Can anyone kindly tell me where to find some
material that demo the use of namespace in Java program.

The slideshow2.dtd refer to the definition in 'xhtml.dtd'. Because in these
two files, they all use the 'title' as the element names. To solve these
conflicts, The namespace is used to qualified the one in slideshow2.dtd.
But the parser still complain that the 'title' in slideshow2.dtd is declared
more than once.
I use apache's Xerces.
I want to know if Xereces realy support namespace spec. now, or how to use
the namespace with a parser. Can anyone kindly tell me where to find some
material that demo the use of namespace in Java program.

I used CONVERT_OTF FM to convert the otf data to pdf data. In my form user has the option to view the smartform (a button) or to directly download the pdf from smartform output without displaying the output. While the former has been taken care of by using InteractiveForm UI element and is displaying the smartform output fine, I am not being able to implement the second option. I have given a supply function to the pdfsource context node but am clueless about what to write to pass pdf data. In the sam WD component WDR_TEST_EVENTS, the FileDownload is used to save a text file with just one line. But how can I save a pdf file? I have assigned mime to application/pdf. How will I proceed now? Please suggest. Thanks in advance.

Is the image that you are getting a RGB one? Use color plane extraction and then use a binary threshold to convert it into a binary image. You can also directly use a color threshold and convert a rgb (color) image to a binary image.

How to use the result from a taglib?

I've been looking arround for some feedback on how to use the output generated by a taglib on jsp code but I haven't been able to find any.
Could somebody tell me how to do that please?

It works something like this:
The tab library consists of a class library and a tag libraray descriptor file. In your jsp header you include a taglib directive which associated athe TLD with a particular name prefix. Then you can include XML tags with that prefix and the tag library class to which they are connected will be invoked from the servlet that is generated from the JSP. This tag code can do pretty much anything, but usually what it mostly does is write HTML to the response stream. Opening tags and closing tags can both add whatever text they like to the stream which is sent to the client.
So including the tag in you JSP will usually suffice to cause generated output, it's up to the taglib.
