How to use the RequestService API to create request in OIM 11g

Hi Guys,
We are trying to build a custom ADF app (Request Forms) to allow users to request access to resources. We want to use the OIM RequestService APIs (oracle.iam.request.api.RequestService).
We can't seem to find a proper guide to use this service.
Is there anyone who has done this or know how we can achieve this in OIM 11g?

How to use the UME api in order to search the LDAP?

I have an application which connects to the LDAP the portal is connecting to and search users according to a certain search criteria.
Here is the relevant piece of code:

you find the Configuration File you are using in your portal via System Administration -> System Configuration -> UM Configuration -> Data Sources
or in sapume.properties where you can find

According to your company LDAP attributes, you will have to extend the above attributes, telephoneShort for example is an attribute within our company.
The UME API does the rest.
All you have to do, is request the right attribute (in my above example it was the last name).

How to use the Worklist API from Java (classpath ??)

Sorry for a novice question but I couldn't find the way to go about this (probably because it's such common knowldge...)
I would like to try and use the Worklist API from my Java code in Eclipse, and according to the BPEL dev-guide I need to add an Import command for oracle.tip.pc.api.worklist. Where do I find these classes ?????
I guess I need to change my CLASSPATH but I couldn't find a single word about this in the BPEL dev-guide (chapter 17), BPEL installation guide or elseware.

Ok now.
To summarize - I was trying the code from BPEL developer guide, chapter 17, page 40 for using the Worklist local API's.
Only after adding the following JAR's to the build path, was I able to compile it:
orabpel-common.jar
orabpel.jar
bpm-infra.jar
bpm-services.jar
So, these 4 JAR's are required for using the Worklist local API's (not a clue in the dev guide itself for this requirement though...)

How to use the crypto api with gemalto cyberflex 32k ?

I've done many javacard programs using this method :
_compilation with javacard kit 2.2.1
_convertion into ".cap" with the javacard kit 2.1.2
All this programs work fine with this method : helloworld, read, write in the card, ....
But when i want to use the crypto api, i can't charge the program in the card (just by adding 2 lines for generating keys):

I think it's because i use the 2.1.2 version , but if i use the 2.2.1 to convert , it's another error and no program work with this method.....even helloworld doesn't work...

I thing i must change my gpshel command , but i have read many forums but can't find the configuration for my card cyberflex 32k, some people had similar problems so they used the kit 2.1.2 combined with 2.2.1 like me, but i think they can't use the crypto api with this.........

How to use the COMM API in a JAR file

I have developed an application, using the NetBeans IDE, to communicate with a modem over the COM1 serial port using the Java Comm API. The application works fine within the IDE, but when a JAR file is created and "double-clicked", the application launches correctly, but when the code is executed to "talk" over the COM1 serial port - nothing happens. No exceptions and no warnings are thrown. My environment is XP, SP1.
The manifest file is as follows:

I suspect it has something to do with the paths.

Thanks for your input, but after trying what you suggested the problem still exists. I think your right to be suspicous of the javax.comm.properties file. The application, that worked in the IDE, exhibits the same behavoir as the JAR file if the javax.comm.properties file is removed from the ../jre/lib directory. In other words it compiles correctly in the IDE, but when executed, nothing happens when the code that "talks" to the serial port is run.
I've tried moving the javax.comm.properties file into the working directory. Also, the CLASSPATH and PATH system variables were modified to include the path to javax.comm.properties.
If you have anymore ideas, please let me know.

I have a fully backup of production database in the last month, and I have using Oracle 8.1.7. I want to known how can I use
this backup to generate a new instance so that I can reproduct some report from the last month data or doing some update testing
from the backup database with the both production instance and last month instance is opened at the same time. I have tried to
create a new instance by using the oradim and startup the new sid with mount option and then use the alter database function
to change the datafile name to the new directory. After this i also create the local service name and change to listerner. I can
startup the new instance but when i start the production database. I got the error that I can open the database with exclusive.
I do this in Oracle 7.3.4 and it works. But how can i setting it in Oracle 8.1.7. Anyone can help me and many thanks.

These are my autoexec.bat entries

I am still not able to compile a servlet program though.

How to search any user while raising a request in OIM 11g

Hello,
In OIM 11g request access screen, How to search any user while trying to raise a request for access ?
Currently when I login to OIM 11g with my id then I can search only my subordinates not all the users present in OIM.
I know this comes by default with OIM 9.1.0.2, not sure any configuration changes required for OIM 11g ?
Pls help me if you have any information on that.

I created new Authorization Policy name called "Test Policy"
Entity Name: User Management
Permission Name: Search User
Data Constraints: All Users
Assign By Role: ALL USERS
After that when I login as a end user and click search, It does not serach for any users.
Could you pls pls let me know if i am missing anything or anything wrong?

Using the Teststand API to create a .tpj file

I'm looking for an example on how to create a teststand project file with the API. I cannot find a methode or property to create it, and add the project file(s) to a workspace. I've tried with PropertyObjectFile (Classe) without success.

Thx for your answer, i use Labview 8.6 to interact with the API, So i don't know if I interpreted rightly your code...
I've managed to create an empty project file (.tpj) with "Engine.NewPropertyObjectFile (6)"
With the "rootworkspaceObject.NewFile(filePath),0" A pop-up appear to select the file (so it must be created before like above).
What i've done is:
- Creating the file as a project file "Engine.NewPropertyObjectFile (6),(Path)."
- I write the new file to disk "PropertyObjectFile.WriteFile(format)" and "PropertyObjectFile.SaveIfModified"
- Then i try to associate The existing .TPJ file to the RootWorkspaceObject "WorkspaceObject.NewFile(Path)" and "WorkspaceObject.InsertObject(Index)"
-At last I save modification of the association "WorkspaceFile.SaveWorkspaceAndProjectFiles(option)"
There is no error and when i open the workspace in teststand, there is no .pjt in the workspace tree...What i'm missing...
So this does not work for me..

How to create a campaign based on a template using the REST API

Hi CodeIt-ers,
I'm using the REST API to create campaigns in Eloqua 10, all works well except for 1 thing: I can't seem to create a campaign based on an existing Campaign template.
Based on the documentation on REST API - Accessing Campaigns I've tried using "sourceTemplateId" (code snippet below) but that did not do the trick.
Does that functionality simply not work or am I missing something?

Unfortunately no. I reached out to support, they informed me "sourceTemplateId" could not be used to create new campaigns based on a template, instead they advised to use the "Elements " property as shown in this example: Eloqua REST API - Create a Campaign with a Segment and Email

Using the Preferences API

I've never used this API before, so excuse my ignorance. I have a web application that I have been using a properties file to store base app info, such as the backend database, the url for the ldap, etc. This has been working fine, but after reading about the Preferences API, I thought that this might be the better place to store this info. However, I'm having permission problems that I haven't been able to figure out.
I've got a development copy of everything on a single computer (using Windows XP), Sun One App Server, and Oracle.
I created a small test class to see if I could load preferences from an xml file. Here's the class

access denied (java.lang.RuntimePermission preferences)
I've never done anything with the security manager before so I'm not sure how to get around this. I tried creating a RuntimePermission object above, but that didn't work.
If anyone has any ideas, I'd much appreciate it.

No, actually I've got the Sun One App server loaded on a desktop I built that I'm using as a test box - its not a server. The Sun server is running fine, as is Oracle. The only problem I'm having is figuring out how to use the Preferences API. Maybe this API isn't the right thing to be using, that's why I'm asking for advice as well as how to get around the security issue that I'm having. My goal is to have application level information that can be stored somewhere other than in a database - this is because one of the pieces of app info is the database that's being used. This app will work with any backend. Currently, this info is stored in a properties file inside the WEB-INF directory. This works fine as is. However, my issue with that is that in order to load the properties file, I've got to have a real drive path. This again isn't that much of an issue except when trying to access from a class that doesn't have the servlet context, however, I am looking for an alternative solution to the properties file. The Preferences seemed like a good solution.

Hello,
You can use Pull list for st.location transfers, if you are into WM managed then this pull list used a lot.
You can use the pulllist to the max. extent. But with IM managed plant the use is limited and this is used only for storage location transfers.
Issue cannot be done for Production orders. You can bring the materials to the req. storage locations and after that you have issue in the order or manually for the order.
